As for the winners of the voting, both had taken a valuable lesson from this episode:
Tumblr media
Hugo: “I realized that cuisine isn’t just about the taste and visual presentation, but also about creating an atmosphere. People need to feel welcome and cared for, so that can relax.”
Tumblr media
Cailean: “You don’t always have to be present and alert for things to go smoothly. Sometimes solid prep-work enough. If brownies are good, you can go on rampage, while brownies do rest of work on their own. Much relieving!”

And so Judith Ward left the contest. She told the TV team that she was going to buy a new house, but not where. (Judith is an unhoused townie in my game.)
Any parting words?
People obviously couldn’t handle my overwhelming presence.
Yes.
That must have been it.
Tumblr media
What are your plans now?
I think I’m ready to retire from my acting career and only participate in shows like this one from now on. Being in Let’s Investigate! has opened my eyes to that possibility, it is the perfect middle ground between full time acting and doing nothing.
Bonus points for the audience not liking me - I’ll be EVERYWHERE, hahaha!

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4 Results
At risk of getting kicked is Judith Ward this time, the very same sim who had been on top of the table last episode.
(Poll in the next post.)

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
Eloise: “What’s this we made?”
Markus: “Zaatar Manakeesh, a flatbread with herb butter and shepard’s cheese.”
Eloise: “Isn’t that quite a fancy dish?”
Markus: “Not neccesarily... not with our cooking skill, anyway!”
Tumblr media
Eloise, I strongly contest the “we” in your sentence. You stood in standby and refused to help with the cooking.
Tumblr media
Alexander: “If a vampire drinks from you during this task, does that count as “guest has eaten” for purpose of scoring?”
Markus: “Good question! That’s the level of detail one would expect to get informed about in advance!”
Me (off camera): “The rules say “1 point for every platter or pot grabbed”.”
Markus: “So if Connor’s familar sat on a plate and a vampire grabbed that plate and drank from her, that would have been a legit point?”
Robert: “You are aware we wouldn’t have this conversation if your dish had come out edible, right?”

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
I mean, it can always get worse... Judith and Connor made sugar cookies. Everyone loves cookies, right? Does it matter that they are “normal” quality only?
(Connor is actually a decent cook, but he is also a health food nut, so cookies may be out of his comfort zone.)
Tumblr media
It doesn’t have to mean anything either, that Connor’s familar fled the kitchen in panic during the cooking and hid under the table in the interrogation room, right? She didn’t even want to sample the finished product (but she sat on it briefly).
Romy: “I’ll stick to my cat grass, thank you very much. It makes me vomit in a way that’s at least good for my body.”
As for the coffee, Judith broke the machine in her first attempt.
Tumblr media
While Connor’s friends of the Department for Paranormal Investigations did their best to avoid the cursed sugar cookies (same as they would tiptoe around a potentially dangerous spectre), Judith walked downstairs to apprecciate their office.

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
Cailean and Tina... failed to look at the calendar, apparently. After a harmonic cookout, they fell victim to the moon fury and let’s not talk about the rest.
Tumblr media
Among the guests of this duo was Hank Anderson.
The retired police Captain autonomously found his old desk again (sometimes they scare me), and when he heard the screams and growls from the floor, along with furniture getting shredded and computers getting smashed, he sighed contently: “I’m back home! Just like old times!”
Tumblr media
Chris made his own mini pizza, but he was kind enough to wait until the clock for the task had timed out (after eight hours), so that didn’t slap Cailean with a penalty point.

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
Emma had wanted to make glazed donuts, but they weren’t available for group cooking, so she had to resort to bagels, and in the simplest version, too, for lack of backing skill.
Rika: “Don’t worry, they look nice enough! As long as you don’t take them off the platter and look at the underside, I suppose. Or take a bite.”
Emma: “Let’s not kid ourselves, Rika. That’s not food, that’s bread.”
Tumblr media
Leave it to Barry (and three others) to eat the bagels nevertheless!
Barry has the same “handicap” as me, by the way - he dislikes coffee.
Tumblr media
Alexander disappointed me. He is Rika’s husband and soulmate, but all through the episode he refused to sample the bagles and even helped himself to a soda from the vending machine instead of taking a coffee.
(But then again, Alex is Gavin’s primary bullying target, so maybe he overheard Gavin’s and Enki’s argument yesterday and wanted to take Enki’s side by demonstrating that coffee is overrated? Thank you for your act of loyalty, Alex, but could you stop sabotaging the love of your life now, please?)

I broke my “Contestant must not interact with the guests” rule a single time, because Kirsten and Godefroy were really hitting it off. And with neither of them getting any younger, maybe there was a lasting match to be made here?
Tumblr media
Nope, the matchmaking interaction got rejected. Looks like they intent to keep this casual.

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
The cafeteria duty episode started out with Hugo, who had made... pankcakes?
Uh, well, Hugo’s partner, Godefroy, had made the pancakes, Hugo had contributed some weird stuff that turned the dish into a “Festive Breakfast” - the most simple and down to earth meal the chef could think of in the spur of the moment. Even his coffee had come out “excellent”.
Tumblr media
During the cooking, Godefroy had been very quick to start getting to work.
Hugo, however, spent a lot of time standing around, for some reason thinking of his half-brother, Brandon (see the lower left corner of the screenshot).
Tumblr media
You gotta give it Hugo, he quickly made the cafeteria look the most natural: Beat cops were eating grimy food and drinking coffee, while Godefroy seduced the co-workers (pictured: Detective Winter).

Let’s Investigate! - Episode 4
Today it’ll be Cafeteria Duty for the contestents, the unarguably most important task at the police station ;-)
The contestants will have to bake or cook something and make coffee.
Points will get awared as follows:
Teamwork
Make a thematically fitting group meal together with your detective partner. +1 if both sims get a sentiment +1 if Partner joins in quickly +0 if Partner hesitates to join in -1 if Partner refuses to participate
Food and Coffee quality
+1 Excellent +0 Normal -1 Poor
Tumblr media
Servings taken
The contestant’s detective partner will form a club with six members, but no rules. The club gets summoned after meal quality was determined and a screenshot of the contestant and the food was taken.
The club leader can call “Go here together” exactly one time, otherwise both contestant and partner are forbidden to interact with the club members (except if those initiate the conversation, naturally)
+1 for each plate of food or pot of coffee taken by the guests
Tumblr media
Negative points will get assigned for:
-1 for each broken appliance
-1 per instance of a guest helping themselves to their own food or drink, for example at the pictured vending machine

Judith Ward getting the boot confirmed.
(That means both Gavin and Connor are out of the running now, but Gavin got kicked before his rival and probably needs therapy right now.)
