Do you think anyone in HOMRA would be into anime? I imagine Kama-chan might be into it a bit and Yata too but anyone else? what is they made an anime club in the group?

It’s Kamamoto Day so I figure I’ll answer this today!!

Yeah I think out of everyone, Rikio is probably one of the most likely to be into anime, probably mostly shounen stuff (the classic shounens, Naruto, SnK, Death Note, Bleach, One Piece, and then maybe stuff like Gangsta, possibly Owari no Seraph, Durarara I think he’d watch mostly because “hey that guy looks like Izumo” etc), but since his life literally is a shounen anime I imagine he also likes slice of life stuff and comedy to sort of get away from it all, perhaps a couple of the more shounen-y sports anime (stuff like Haikyuu!! as opposed to something like Free with it’s gratuitous naked boys), but I imagine he has a secret love for a couple of girlier series as well. Probably mostly the more well-known ones like K-ON! and Hibike!Euphoneum. I can see him really enjoying Ore Monogatari!! and Cheer Danshi, and possibly even Yuri!!! on Ice for their chubby boy positivity. The only thing I think he maybe wouldn’t be into is anything with too much gratuitous fanservice- after spending so much time with Misaki I think his “don’t disrespect women by making them props or having them be overly naked for no reason” instinct would kick in (*side eyes @ K project*) so I don’t think he’d be a fan of stuff like idk SAO because it’s a bit harem-y. 

Misaki I can see being a total closet otaku- he’d never tell anyone he liked anime but he’d watch it secretly, and I think he’d enjoy both the more action-y series as well as the occasional good girly anime, but on pain of death he would never tell anyone about how much he cried at Orange or how much he ships kumirei etc. 

Rikio would have his suspicions that Misaki likes anime, and he’d recommend Bungou Stray Dogs because “hey this character looks like you you should watch it” so Misaki would, and as much as he doesn’t want people to know he’s an anime nerd he also really wants to gush about this anime but also tell his friend off because “hey why the fuck did you say the incest weirdo looks like me!” and they end up watching a couple series together but Misaki has made it very clear that if anyone asks what they were doing they were watching a sports game okay? and I most certainly did not cry at the Viktuuri kiss why the hell did you even make me watch this gay shit (he says, incredibly invested in that gay shit. His fave is Otabek because he’s cool and badass).

Other people I could see being into it are Shouhei, and possibly Bandou but only casually. Chitose would only be into the exact opposite to the type of animes that Rikio watches- he pretty much exclusively watches stuff like KissxSis, Sword Art Online, School Days, Panty and Stocking, MM! (not shitting on MM! tho forreal MM! is hilarious and more people should watch it) etc. I think Kosuke would be open to watching it but not actively a fan, and Eric would think it was dumb and take the piss out of Misaki if he ever found out he watched it. 

I think Misaki would be very against the idea of “a dumb otaku anime club” as he would probably call it, but if something was airing that a few people were watching, I think Rikio might suggest they all come over to his and watch new episodes together every week with drinks and snacks and stuff so it’d sort of be an unofficial anime club, and of course Misaki would go because his friend was asking but he’d feign reluctance. But then he’d be the most invested out of anyone there and he’d get a little teary in the more emotional moments but try really hard not to let it show.
