I think letsplays are interesting, because a letsplay can be a way to experience a videogame as closely to the intended experience as possible without actually playing the videogame. a letsplay can also be a piece of art which uses a particular game as its medium. Some letsplays even aim to be both of these things, with varying levels of success. It always strikes me as such a labor of love, to be so dedicated to showing this game to others.

I've been watching a ton of The Beginners Guide letplays the last few days, and one thing that makes me more and more sad every time I watch one is the prison game sequence. Like, all those different prison games are clearly a creative uptick moment. Someone exploring an idea they like from several different fun angles. From a creative standpoint, I can imagine it must have felt amazing to make them. And to have the only guy you're showing them too spend the entire time passive aggressively shitting on them, because he doesn't like the central idea, and convincing other people that there's something wrong with you as a person for making them... ngh. That's rough. That sequence gets harder to watch every time.

To be clear, I think I mean this also to say that Leon's worked with other women as well, but he seemed to really enjoy Helena's company. He seemed to enjoy her more than Claire imo. But to be fair, Helena and Leon also just have way more time spent together than most of the other re girlies, so I think that's also why I hold this opinion.
