here are 3 incredibly specific ps2 video games i never see ANYONE talk about that where wildly foundational to my wide array of interests growing up as a child: •whiplash (these two are so trauma bonded and in gay love) •kya: dark lineage (THE ENEMIES ARE ALL *HOT* HOT) •ty the tasmanian tiger (hehe boomerang :D)

these along with the spyro series(i dont hate any of the games sorry, im a skylanders defender too suck it), sly cooper, klonoa, neopets the darkest faerie, etc etc... many a ps2 game because my mom bought one "for me" during christmas as a wee kit and i didnt even know how to read yet soooo... she played it and let me watch her beat all these games... very warm memories, my first own console was a ds lite tho

if youve played these games talk to me about it!! i want to know what you thought of them and i want to see them be talked about!!! ^_ ^ of course for me all of these had the draw of the creatures when i saw the commercials or ads, but i really enjoy the world building in those top three specifically... i really like the atmosphere and exploring in them! i dont remember them controlling the best but i cant remember if thats just because i was a child with little dexterity but i had a lot of frustrations with them that made me put them down a lot ^^; i remember that much at least...other than platforming woes id say these are still games worth picking up for their unique little stories and worlds alone, theyre interesting and cute... anyways theres so many non ps2 games i could go on about as well but ill cut it off here for now :3

"Oh, I sure do hate having to leave a play date so early; You see, today, just when a brand new friend let me try out his cool half-frisbee thingies, and that booger just stopped moving and started to play-sleep. Before I could finish our game, a big loud alarm and red flashing lights came in and scared me away.

Turns out it was just an ambulance; which I don't think is a fun trick to play. So, I suppose now it would be the right thing to do if I just paid my new best friend a quick visit!!!"

Character Context:

Pom Pom is a virus/glitch formed by the scrapped side-scrolling arcade game from the early 90's “Pom-Pom Panic”. Pom Pom (the main character of Pom Pom Panic) for whatever reason gained sentience halfway during the game’s development. The game was cancelled halfway because the publishing company thought it was too bizarre of a concept and mascot character to gain interest. Pom Pom heard of the news and took it way too personally, as she literally cannot fathom why someone would think she’s ‘bizarre’-even to the point of getting ‘axed’. Prompted by the ‘poor judgement’ Pom Pom went rouge-breaking from her game to ‘axe’ any ‘approved’ game mascots/characters she thought could count as ‘bizarre’ like her.

You know the names Joey and Josie are both opposite names to each other. And yeah I watched the Koala Brothers as a kid, the graphics kinda looked the same as Bob the Builder, but in Australia, since that show does come from the country Australia and Bob the Builder, it does it in both American and British Dub. And I know Phantomstrider did talk about the Koala Brothers in his Worst Australian Cartoons. For me, I don't think it's too bad, it felt different than the time I always liked playing Ty the Tasmanian Tiger since I have played that game as a kid. I have 1, 2, and 3 on GameCube, the 3rd one on GBA, the 4th one on my Computer, and I even got the 1st one on the Switch, which I'm planning on buying the 2nd one on the Switch as well as wanting to buy the 4th one on my Switch, in case I were to go traveling. And for Joey, Light always enjoys hanging out with him alongside Katie the Koala. But since those two are both Australian, let's hope nothing messed up happens or any Australian people I know don't take them alive. Otherwise Shadow was gonna plan on dressing as an Australian character that knows Australian people would resist. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger character or a Koala Brothers character, but Shadow and his friends dress up like those franchises, let's hope the Heeler Brothers, Bandit, Stripes and Rad don't attack them. Otherwise anytime Shadow or his dad gets attacked by an Australian character, it feels like they get hit by a Boomerang. 🪃

About the Mun

Hiya! Papa Pasta here and I'm a 28 year old guy who enjoys Mario maybe a bit too much and also loves to call himself a writer. Really, I love all things Nintendo. Blog activity will be sporadic but at least a few posts a day will go out. I work graveyard shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday so activity on those days will primarily be throughout the night(11pm-7am CST). Otherwise I'll be available throughout the day for general shenanigans or to just chat should you need me.

I've been role-playing since I was twelve. Obviously I wasn't too good starting out but hey I had the desire to try. I've been a lotta people: Sonic, Link(primarily Twilight Princess Link because ofc), my own OC's, Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, Roadhog, Batman. I didn't pick up Mario until I was 18 and on tumblr. Although my time on tumblr has been on again off again, I've continued to portray Mario on various platforms. I love the little guy what can I say? I got my first N64 at age 5 and had family members with other consoles I could live on until I got my own. The first Mario game I actually beat was-you guessed it- Mario 64. I didn't get all 120 stars though until much later...

I believe I'm pretty easy to get a hold of. My discord is available upon request, and if that isn't to your liking hit me up in the DM's. Should we have a problem just let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. I like to tackle things head-on so let's squash it if we can.

3.) 1-3 games you played in the past 12 months that you really enjoyed.

Uhhhhh... Let's see. This is a bit of a toughie cause I tend to come back to old games over and over instead of playing new ones, but... Darkest Dungeon 2, Project Zomboid, and Sons of the Forest.

DD2 is something i'd been hyped for for awhile, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. It's a much different experience from DD1, but I still enjoy it. The artstyle translated beautifully into 3D and there is just... so much heart in it. All I need now is Red Hook to show me where Shieldbreaker is. Project Zomboid isn't something I expected to enjoy as much as I do, but i'm the local survival game enjoyer, so I guess I shouldn't be super surprised. It's great to play with friends, though still fucking terrifying. I'm the local The Forest enjoyer, despite that game being a garbage fire. The Gulag was all over SOTF when it was announced, and we all got it launch day and played it for like a week straight once it came out. It's The Forest though so it needs time to grow and flesh itself out, so i've left it on the back burner... FOR NOW. ━━━━━━━

You look over and i'm just sweating fucking bullets.

Horizon from Apex Legends has very firmly embedded herself in my brain, so that's been fun. I won't get super into it but I like her a lot, and i've been having fun getting better with her kit! If you know, you know.

Though uh... Mad Maggie also bears mentioning, because that is a woman that has totally and entirely bewitched me over the passed month. I'm genuinely super embarrassed about it sometimes, but she is Suzie Love Bait to the max. It's one thing for her to be a handsome masc woman, but her story and unrepentant pride in being indigenous genuinely almost brings me to tears sometimes. I love that woman. I want Respawn to tell us she's a dyke already so I can rest. ━━━━━━━

Quixotic, from Hotline Miami 2's OST, is still such a kickass song to me. I love how deep it feels, and how it just reverberates through your bones. Underrated pick from the OST if you ask me. ━━━━━━━

14.) A song that's sure to hit your nostalgia buttons.

I could put literally any god damn Spyro song here, but I already talked about Spyro earlier so i'm gonna swerve and drop the theme for my other favorite game from when I was little.

Warped is and always will be my favorite Crash game. I had such a blast with it. I really need to actually finish the fucking N. Sane Trilogy one of these days. Fake Crash Bandicoot fan over here.

Special shout outs go to the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger theme, as I played that series to fucking DEATH as a child, the Croc: Legend of the Gobbos theme since it goes hard as hell, and like... the entire OST for Pac Man World 2.
