I do have a serious family emergency going on IRL at the moment. But wouldn't you know it, the chapter is the day before I have to make a trip about it. So I can have a brief respite from scary & stressful things....

we see Amane at the 81st annual festival. Our current festival is the 113th. the Amane we see here would be ~27. (remember, Amane would be ~60 years old if he were alive in the 'present' of JSHK, which is 2015)

so, we finally see 1:1, precisely the boy in the 'corrected' timeline'

And even so, you've also got to avoid the Clockkeepers just fixing it again, or nipping at you, right? I wonder if we'll have to essentially... go back, instigate events with the Yugi which result in our yorishiro Tsukasa ... and then ... peel the Clockkeeper's yorishiro, to de-power them, and usurp control for ourselves over the timeline? It's so hard to imagine a world where we can let the Clockkeepers remain in any power, if we want to have 'control' ....

but can Nene-chan peel yorishiro, anymore? I wonder if she would need to form a contract with someone else to be granted that right, in this world.... ♥..... well, getting ahead of ourselves... but that would be fun.... I think so, anyway....

so interesting! I wonder if, in this world, Akane even typically called her 'Ao-chan'? That's such an affectionate/familiar nickname.... it would be surprising from someone you're not super close with....

and the implication seems to be that Aoi and Teru have been more familiar SINCE childhood, not just now... so Akane's been completely booted in some capacity... if she's been referring to Teru in such a familiar way since childhood, this arrangement may have happened quite early on....

I've always been worried about Teru's interest in Aoi, what with their families histories... I've worried it has less to do with legitimate interest and more to do with, I don't know... power levels, bloodline, maintaining something or correcting something... it just doesn't pass my smell test. Anyone else half/absolutely convinced that in a modern AU Shin-Ah is selectively mute, has severe anxiety, and Zeno definitely has ADHD and some form of depression???

Canonically they are/were the two closest of the dragons, so I'd like to believe that:

- Zeno learns and becomes fluent in sign language for Shin-Ah's sake

-Zeno keeps an eye on him in social or particularly stressful situations to make sure he isn't overwhelmed.

-Shin-Ah does speak VERY occasionally, (again, selectively mute) but once he meets HHB he starts to improve a little

-This is an AU where Uncle Ao is 1. a good uncle, 2. fighting for Shin-Ah's custody probably?? So that's a thing.

-Zeno carries around sound proof headphones and fidget toys for his buddy and always has to remind him to eat and brings lunch for him because Shin-Ah often forgets.

-They'd be the same age in this AU

-Shin-Ah constantly has to remind/make sure Zeno takes his meds (bc lets be honest the man is an absolute mess hbeicweibce-)

-on the days where Zeno feels too sad to go to school Shin-Ah beelines to his house once school is over with snacks and blankets and squirrel Ao because yes. He breaks in (he has the keys to Zeno's house/apt lol) and just: "Ao wanted to see you :)"

I'm building a KAYAZENO-centric modern AU but I love Shin-Ah so this just kinda. Happened. Splattered out of my brain, if you will.

I saw a post the other day making a claim that was something to the effect of the Star Trek fandom being the wisest and most drama free because it's the oldest modern fandom or whatever.

And I had to laugh because like....are you talking about the same fandom that, among many other things, was (and is) actively hostile to anyone who prefers AOS over TOS? The fandom that did nothing but bitch about Discovery for years rather than give it a decent try and the benefit of the doubt? That dragged Michael (and Sonequa Martin-Green) for who knows what reasons, every time they had a chance? The fandom that gets up in arms every time the Klingons undergo a design change (which as far as I can tell, happens in almost every new series)? That fandom?

I adore Star Trek. I've made some damn good friends in that fandom and the fans have produced some of my most favorite fanfic and fanart. It's a great community!But PLEASE. Let's not kid ourselves into believing it's a mature and drama free fandom lol. It's got its bad eggs and dark corners just like every other one and to put it on a pedestal and pretend otherwise is to play a dangerous game.

Ok so I had a dream that like. Ok a chapter of deltarune was out and it was science themed? Lik the. It was all science stuff. You fought beakers of liquid and characters attacked with equipment like clipboards and atoms and neurons and all sorts of stuff.

But halfway through it the Fun Gang fall into a. A trap that then steals the Soul. Us. The stole us lmaooo. The . The big bad, who was just called The Head like. Stuck this tube on Kris and just sucked the soul out lmao.

I was watching from the. Like when uhhhhhh Ralsie makes you follow Susie so he can talk to Kris. So you get sucked through this long tube and the screen went black and . It was so cool ao you wake up in your vessel form!!!! Attached to this big machine and The Head is thereblike . What they want is to control the Soul to keep the Dark Fountain from being sealed. IDK HOW THEU GOT THE VESSEL BUT whatever.

There was some dialog about like. Like you could ask what was happening or what happened to Kris anf the others. The Head just says they had no use for the Fun Gang so they "Got rid of them"

Obviously The Head thinks the . The gang is dead but this is the Fun Gang we talking about. They're prolly fine. The Head also drops the info that they fused your Soul to this vessel, and that the only reason they could separate you from Kirs was because the link was. Faulty. You are permanently stuck in this vessel from now on

Anyway The Head leaves the room and you get released from the machine. I might talk more about that stuff later but you could walk around and interact with stuff. Lots of science stuff . And something I though was interesting was that there was no jokes or anything for the interactions. Just standard observations

Eventually two people walk in (the enemy name was called Assistants) and they take you to a different room. You can fight them but you don't have any weapons so the most you can do is ACTs. There was a certain ACT called Flee and it allowed you to escape the fight and run away from the Assistants.

Eventually you run into The Head and they just kinda like. Grab your arm. It's a cutscene reallt and you just kinda kick at them before they justm pick you up. Lol. I'll draw the . The Head later but like. They tall lmao. Also very bird like. Evil skull

Anyway it's at this point that Kris, Ralsie and Susie all run in. And Kris actually talks!!! They do the basic "let (players name) go" and they pull out their sword. Susie pulls out her axe as well.

THATD WHEN SHIT HITS THE FAN.

The Head, who still is holding us FORCES US TO FIGHT WITH KRIS AND THEM... ITS SO COOL! It went back to the original Undertale fight scene. Like this

The gimmick was that you have to get The Heads health all the way down, but you share damage with them. You can heal, but healing also heals The Head.

So it was this balance of trying not to get to much damage done to yourself while also trying to get The Head down. You coukd see the different health bars of the Fun Gang and their unique attacks. They all worked together but their attacks were differently colored. Kris had Blue attacks and Ralsie had green. Susie just had the regular attack but occasionally they'd be a bright purple.

Aw yeeesss this is sweet! Apologies for taking a while (lol it feels like I always start my replies like this) I'm still baffled and pleased that I still get so many Dragon King requests- I have two more in my inbox DAYUM making this into a one shot cause hecc why not?

Playing with Dad

Being a Kaiju-sized dragon was hard, the Dragon King knew as much, but what he hadn’t taken into account was that even in this state he’d end up with a little mere-child to take care of.

Of course, his partner was there too to help him in most cases, but whenever it was just the two of them, Ao Guang was terrified about the possibility of accidentally hurting his own child, and he would’ve never forgiven himself if that were to happen.

Today was exactly one of those days; his partner was out with their friends, and he’d been left home to keep an eye on their child, which at that point in time was little more than a little toddler, and just like any other toddler, they were very mischievous and slightly pesky to deal with.

He was laying down in their massive backyard, looking on as his child played in the sand with an array of empty seashells and rocks, feeling a little awkward and keeping his distance, until his child began gathering a variety of shells and closed that distance themselves, swimming up to him and placing everything they were holding in front of him, sorting the seashells by size.

Ao Guang tensed up slightly, but kept looking, tilting his head as he tried figuring out what his child was up to. “W-what are you up to now?” He asked in a whisper, as he often did when talking to his family, knowing his voice was much louder now, due to his increased size.

“Let’s play store! You’re the shopkeeper, and I’m the customer!” The child instructed enthusiastically, before swimming back and beginning to play a scene out without waiting for their father to agree, because of course he’d play along! He was their dad!

They swam up to him again, “good morning!” They said, trying to make their little voice deeper to sound more like a grownup shopping for groceries.

Dragon King was a bit taken off guard at first, but this seemed like a fairly harmless game, plus, he’d always enjoyed acting and playing roles, so he went along with it. “G-good morning, (child/n)! What do you need today?” He asked, keeping his voice in a whisper, but making it more chirpy.

“I want- three… two big seashells and a pretty medium one!” The mere-child requested, pointing at each seashell individually trying to count them. They were still little so they didn’t really know or care much about numbers.

Ao Guang chuckled softly, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “And what else do you need to say when asking things from someone?” 

His child thought about it for a moment, before their eyes lit up. “Oh! P-please?”

“That’s right.” The King replied softly. He was actually starting to relax a bit, things were going well, they were rehearsing numbers and he was reminding them about manners… perfect parent/child interactions!

He pushed the two big seashells towards his kid without too much trouble, but when it came to the smaller one… he accidentally put too much pressure on it while pushing it forward, which was way too easy to do given the size of his fingers, and ended up breaking it.

All of his tension came right back like a flood. Oh no, he’d really done it now- he’d broken one of his child’s shells!! He was so mortified that all he could do was freeze and avert his eyes. That’s why he didn’t play with his child, a kaiju like him was no good when it came to handling small delicate things, and that was proof enough of it.

Ao Guang was already bracing himself to hear his child cry, but instead… he heard giggles?

“Papa, you broke it! You’re so clumsy!” The kid chuckled, looking up at their dad. “Are you sad?”

“What? Oh- no no, papa isn’t sad-” he stuttered, trying to reassure them. “Aren’t you… upset I broke your seashell?”

“I can find more! It’s okay!!” The kid reassured him, taking the King off guard by displaying a level of maturity he didn’t quite expect from a toddler.

“I… suppose you can-” Ao Guang replied, feeling rather awkward still, until an idea came to him. “O-oh! Why don’t I help you find more? I could find you the BIGGEST seashell in the ocean!”

The child giggled, “as big as you, papa?”

The Dragon King chuckled bashfully, slowly lifting himself up from the seabed. “H-heh, maybe… we’ll only know once we start searching!”

“Yeah!!” The little mere-child excitedly gathered their seashells in their hands, and swam up, propping themselves on their dad’s shoulder. “Let’s find the biggest seashell EVER!!”

Ao Guang couldn’t help but smile fondly. Maybe he could learn to stop worrying so much about his kaiju-sized body… his child definitely didn’t seem to care at least.

i have an idea that Rumble and Savage would look for Macaque to take revenge on him, mk would get in the way and prevent him from being killed, after meeting mk Rumble and savage develop a hatred and jealousy towards mk

basically because of mk he is loved by everyone

so Rumble and savage kidnapped him and would try to steal mk's identity but rumble and savage don't know what does what mk, be mk

and everyone immediately realizes that they are not mk

because rumble and savage think that what makes mk so loved by everyone is how strong and useful he is to others

basically the opposite of what happened in Journey to the West where only buddha knew who was the impostor and who was the real sun wukong

HUH well I guess my first question @maidenofthecloud is how 2 monkey dudes plan to impersonate one (maybe they take turns guarding MK & pretending to be him), but this sounds like a really neat idea to bring a conclusion to both some questions that desperately need to be answered as well as a way to finally convince the monkie kid that everyone loves him for him and not because of how useful he is!

It's been made clear that in legoland Journey to the West is well not much more besides Sun Wukong propaganda/a bunch of falsities to the point where it's not a reliable guide for any character's backstory, and as such there's all these ongoing mysterys such as why did DBK & SWK have their huge battle, what actually happened to the og pilgrims, why specifically did SWK exile himself from the world for 500 years, and of course what actually went down between SWK and Macaque.

With Rumble and Savage being introduced in the tv show with the goal of getting revenge on Macaque and kidnapping/replacing Qi Xiaotian, however, this seems like a great scenario for pretty much all these questions to finally be answered! Because if the "Evil Macaque" lego set is any indication:

then Rumble and Savage were brought into existence specifically to be Macaque's minions, so in an interesting turn of events we could have a scenario where Macaque has to deal with the fact that apparently just like SWK he also has some monkey yaoguai gunning for revenge against him because he used them to get what he wanted before abandoning them. As such, the shadow simian having to explain to team monkie what happened to MK and why in this situation does present a perfect scenario for him and SWK to finally have to hash it out as to what exactly happened between them not only because they'd have to work together to rescue MK and as such would need to trust each other, but also because I can imagine (and tbh would love to see) the prequel to any rescue attempt including the Monkey King verbally lashing out in frustration and shame both from his personal long history of one failure after another to achieve his goals or protect anyone he cares about and also from the long lego show history of so many calling him some version of stupid and terrible while their own failures are more or less shrugged off (see DBK & Macaque & maybe even Li Nezha & Ao Guang if you want to include some of their Investiture of the Gods stories lol). As such this also feels like a great opportunity for SWK to finally give his version of what happened to the og pilgrims and also why he had that instigating battle with DBK--and why he even left his sworn brother trapped for 500 years--as maybe some of the major reasons why he exiled himself in the first place & now basically never attempts to defend himself when the accusations about his terribleness are a go. Tbh even with season 4's memory scroll all of these questions were barely touched on and as such any "resolution" feels more like a band-aid on a festering wound, so having them properly addressed would be nice & let the plot move forward. Also this could perhaps be when the whole existence of the torture headband is brought up & we get a little bit more insight as to why SWK seems pretty resigned to people hating him & thinking for the longest time he had to do everything himself as some sort of penance that's inevitably doomed to fail. Also also this could be a good way for DBK & Macaque to start confronting some of their own less than stellar actions too instead of going straight to dumping all blame on the Monkey King.

Meanwhile back at the ranch (i.e. Rumble & Savage's hideout) a kidnapped MK, who's already struggling with actually being a monkey yaoguai, could be confronted with a really warped version of what his "true" identity means through the twin's own ideas that they were instilled with by Macaque during one of the lowest points of his life (you know, under the Lady Bone Demon's control and defined by his hatred for SWK). For them, their worth as individuals coming from being strong and useful was not only the reason they were created but also something likely validated in their minds by Macaque telling them stories about how that's what is was like for him being the Monkey King's "friend," as well as from their interactions with others being limited to doing what those stronger than them wanted them to do and watching a stronger yaoguai (LBD) torture a weaker yaoguai (Macaque) when he didn't follow her orders to a t. As such, their idea of what it means to be a yaoguai is likely that it is to be involved in a never-ending power struggle where the strong get to do whatever they want to those weaker than them, and the weak just have to shut up and obey if they want to live. Their decision to kidnap/replace Qi Xiaotian would then be not so much about escaping this dynamic as it would be about continuing it but also getting good food, not getting immediately tortured when they mess up, and getting people who at least pretend they love them as part of the deal. As is MK already has a easy-to-please nature and seems to greatly fear that his friends and family will abandon him the second he becomes too much/not useful to them, so this could really in his mind confirm his worst fears about how his life will go.

SO YEAH then imagine the surprise that Rumble, Savage, and Qi Xiaotian would experience from the twin's disguise immediately being seen through because they're acting nothing like the monkie kid & the monkie crew showing themselves to be willing to go through hell or high water to rescue MK not because he's useful but because he's a kind and goofy young (monkey) man that they love. Hell this could also be an amazing possibility to both draw attention to and take off some of the enormous pressure of Qi Xiaotian's back in terms of veering away from these plots where he's constantly being put in the situation of having to keep the universe from exploding by making it absolutely clear that him (& his peers in Long Xiaojiao, Red Son, and in this situation Rumble & Savage tbh) having to take on all that responsibility has been absolute bullshit, that it's absolute bullshit that MK would even think he needs to do that in the first place (like jfc even hyper-murder and hyper-competent og classic SWK never had to prevent the destruction of all reality) & that there's actually a lot of things all the older adult yaoguai and immortals in his life, not just SWK, can do to keep the situation from routinely getting that bad. So if Rumble & Savage's attempts to replace MK with who they think he or is what they think others want him to be could be about the ongoing consequences of the failures of the older generation, then this ending with Qi Xiaotian and the twins, Mei, Red Son, and maybe also the Lady Bone Demon's host being helped by said older generation into a place where they can be happy and live authentically as themselves without having to be strong and useful all the time could be a really neat conclusion to a Monkie Kid arc.

Re-reading Ao no Flag cause I'm buying the physical volumes, so some thoughts specifically about Masumi's ending

So in the ending Masumi marries a man, and as a bi woman I have some thoughts about that, positive and negative. Let's start with the positive

I saw some comments from people saying its not explicit that she's bisexual or that clearly her husband is a beard and she got a sad closeted ending. I was confused about these comments tbh, I believe that it's clearly implied she's bi because of this page:

Her husband mentions being jealous of both men and women. And then he basically says "she chose a person, not a gender" which is LITERALLY the message bi people have been trying to get other people to understand forever! Even the comment about her "not belonging to either side" is something any bi person can relate to.

Also he's talking with Touma here, and asks him if he "gets it" regarding being jealous of men and women, and Touma responds in the affirmative("Really? You too?") because he's also married to a bi person(Taichi). Just a tiny thing that only makes sense when you learn that Touma is the POV character lol

It's unfortunately a common trope in Japan that sapphic relationships among young girls are not taken seriously and are treated as just a silly playful phase they go through and eventually grow out of. When I saw Masumi ended with a man, I winced, bracing myself for this scenario. However, her husband clearly acknowledges her attraction to women and her bisexuality by saying she didn't "choose a side", she chose him. It's rare to see such a clear messaging of bisexuality in manga, so this dialogue was honestly a very pleasant surprise to me.

Now the negative. I was happy about this sure, but it was also a bit awkward and hard to accept this happening in the very last chapter when for the entirety of the series, Masumi was coded as a lesbian. In real life no one would bat an eye at Masumi, someone who identifies as lesbian and previously only liked women could discover later she's actually bisexual and anyone who judged her for that would be an idiot, same thing if it was the opposite. But this is fiction, and what you portray and HOW you portray it matters.

One of the main evidences of her lesbian coding is that all her relationships with boys in high school fail, even though they're "perfect boyfriends". I guess you could interpret this as, obviously she couldn't force herself to like these boys regardless of gender while she was still in love with Futaba, but that's me making sense of it retroactively, the story doesn't make it clear and "lets you believe" she's a lesbian, because why wouldn't you, that's a pretty common way of coding it.

Another thing is Masumi's conversation with Akiko, where Masumi reveals that her internal struggles come from the fact that she wants to fit in heteronormative society because things would be easier that way. Her happiness comes from the people she loves being happy and not worried about her, which they would be if she "went against" society. So seeing her end up with a man can be uncomfortable as it can be seen as her making the choice to fit in with society.

SO YEAH I have conflicting feelings about this, I thint it definitely could have been handled better. I think the ending was very clear about her being bisexual and I like that, but there's also definitely a conversation to be had about lesbian erasure regarding how her arc was handled, and I understand the feelings of those who were upset and frustrated by it.

The one-shot similar to Sixty Four Palms but, makes Sixty four palms kinda a useless technique when they have better and stronger techniques than others.It takes a lot of precision and accuracy.

Oooh, this is tough. Am I choosing my favs overall, or based on how much I like their alien-ness specifically? If it's the former, then Kira, B'Elanna, and Dax - if it's the latter, then Odo, Worf, and Saru (Discovery). (Deanna and Kes leaving you out Hurt Me but they didn't write you alien enough for the latter list!! Still top 5 favs though <3)

35. A minor character you wish had become a main character?

Okay let's talk about the long-form arc potential both Seska and Suder had. Literally my favourite thing about the Suder episodes is the questions about restorative justice they raise- is there any point in locking a man up after he's sincerely reformed and no longer dangerous? Is it possible to be? Is it fair to the victim's loved ones to give him the right to roam around like nothing happened? What sort of thing could count as "reparations" in Voyager's situation? What if they really had been stranded with him for 75 years? Would he ever have been able to move on from what he did? What sort of hobbies might he take up in his new life? What would it take to win Janeway's trust? Would the victim's friends ever forgive him? Would he rather disembark the ship and start anew somewhere, or remain with his own people? Would he have been able to make new friends? Are you reading this string of questions in Jonathan Frakes's voice too? Would our main characters all have been able to get past his actions? Would it cause disagreements? How would his relationship with Tuvok have progressed? What issues would their getting back to Earth early raise for him? ... Aaaaand then the show decided to give us none of that😂 (well. except for Jonathan Frakes in a brief cameo that is :D) As for Seska I really don't know what they were thinking with her lol. She starts off as such a promising villain- literally the "reveal" in 'State of Flux' gives me chills! And you can actually understand her actions, her unexpected attachments to Chakotay and the crew. Instead of the whole pregnancy subplot (which made no sense) I would've loved to have seen her grow increasingly afraid she'd made a mistake in teaming up with the Kazon, and try to defect back to Voyager - the questions that would raise would be similar to Suder's, though in this case a bit more personal for characters like Chakotay and B'Elanna. Is she for real? Is she just doing this to trick them again? How do the Bajoran crew members feel about this? What would it take for her to win back people's trust? Say she does something messed up again, does she get a third chance? Would she make friends with Seven of Nine; someone she never personally betrayed who is also seeking redemption for past actions? Society if we'd gotten her as a regular character all the way till S7 - like an actually great redemption arc, where she ends up on good terms with a lot of them by the end (sort of like what they did with Garak on DS9) - ahhh the possibilities!!!

Plus Michael is blorbo!) Fourth tier: TOS, SNW, Enterprise, Lower Decks (shows I've enjoyed but only really seen once so far) and I guess the AOS movies lol (imo 'Beyond' is the best one) Fifth tier: Picard (if it was just the first season it would've been higher! AN: So basically this fic was supposed to be longer but I couldn’t for the life of me write the second half to it so, for now, I’m posting the first half and just making this into 2 parts.

I jolted awake. For the 3rd time that night. I haven’t been able to sleep properly since the mission. It just went so wrong so fast. The young boy, the building. It sent a nasty shiver down my spine just thinking about it. I run my hands down my face in frustration. I know how to deal with stress and traumatic situations, it was part of my training at Ops Academy at Shield. I just couldn’t understand why I can’t get this stupid mission out of my head. I glanced at the clock beside me.

2:04 am

I roll my eyes and slowly make my way out of bed. I’m not going to be getting any sleep tonight I might as well grab some tea and look at that paperwork Coulson needs me to do.

I throw on my dark grey shield hoodie and make my way down the base's dimly lit halls to the common area. My feet feel heavy and my body slumped as I walk. I am beyond exhausted. I trudge my way over to the kettle and start to make my tea. My thoughts keep flashing back to the boy, and the building. I try to push them away but they just keep coming back.

I hear the slight irregularity in my soundings, there’s someone behind me. Just before the person could put their hand on my shoulder I turn grabbing their hand, I spin them and pin their hand behind their back. My mind came to a second after I reacted. I quickly let go.

“Y/N!? What the hell?” Daisy whisper shouted.

“Oh god Daisy I'm so sorry, but in all fairness, you shouldn’t have snuck up on me,” I say with a small smile.

She smirks back before her eyes seem to search mine, a small flash of concern washes over her before she quickly covers it up.

“Why aren’t you in bed?” she asks leading me over to the couch in the common room.

“I could ask the same about you?” I volley back.

“Touché.” She said raising her eyebrow. We had both found a spot on the couch, our knees touching in a comforting way. I felt her gaze shift over me.

“Are going to keep deflecting or are you going to tell me what’s really going on?” She said while putting her hand on my shoulder making me look at her.

“Hey, I was not deflecting,” I say in a teasingly defensive voice.

Daisy raised her eyebrow at my statement. I let out a heavy sigh.

“I don’t know… I just haven’t been sleeping well lately, it’s just another bad night I guess.”

“Does it have to do with what happened during the mission a few days ago? You know that wasn’t your fault.”

“I know it’s not but… I can’t stop seeing his face. I close my eyes and he’s right there. If I had just acted faster maybe I could have saved him, and maybe there’s nothing I could have done but… I just can’t help but think there must’ve been. It’s stupid.”

“That’s not stupid and there’s nothing I can say that you don’t already know, but what I can do is be here for you and what you can do is try to get some sleep.”

I pulled Daisy into a warm hug.

“Thank you.” I gave her a warm smile before curling into her side as her arm wrapped around me comfortingly. I looked back up at her.

“Could we just sit here for a bit, I’m not ready to try and sleep yet.”

“whatever you want.”

We sit in comfortable silence, just content with each other's company and warmth. I slowly feel myself start to drift off. My eyes flutter closed as my breath falls in rhythm with Daisy’s. Just as I’m on the brink of sleep I feel a pair of warm lips touch my forehead.

“Goodnight love,” Daisy whispered so quietly I could barely hear it.

I drifted off before I could murmur a response.

Ok, so. Remember this is not applicable to All festivals and is something I've seen mainly in the US of with big ones but.

When an artist signs a contract with a festival there's usually dealings with exvlusivity clauses, non compete and radius clauses. All of these may limit an artists ability to perform in the same or nearby cities. So let's briefly explain each

Exclusivity: this means the artists cannot perform in any other events or concerts within a certain time frame or geographical location. So if they are on tour (like our boys( they need to wait till the time limit is up to advertise their tour in "nearby" cities

Radius: prevents the artists from performing in a certain radius around the festival for a Tim to protect the uniqueness of the event.

Non comete: the artist isn't allowed to do anything with a competing event or festival for a specific period.

Ao if the contracts the 75 has included any of these it would mean they'd need to wait a specified tike to advertise in certain locations or radius. Obviously its all unique to the contract but essentially yeah, it doesn't have to be the festival they just did but if they did any nearby within the last couple months that may be what it was. Also you guys have different regulations than we do (festivals are less protective *excluding massive ones like glastonbury* ) so local regulations and etiquette likely plays a role too. I know it doesn't make much sense but it's more precautionary to prevent any competing sales as if someone has a show close to them they're less likely you attend the festival (epseiclaly if they're only going for one artist) and so it increases sales for the "uniqueness"

that......sounds bonkers and dumb to me. Like....they're allowed to announce a venue across the street cuz it's not included in the contract but they can't announce a show in a DIFFERENT STATE cuz it happens to compete? HOLY WOWWW.... OKAYYY.
