The panic was legitimate. The ozone layer was noticeably deteriorating within a few decades of the introduction of freon* refrigerants. The compound was developed in 1930. The Montreal Protocol was in 1987, and a total worldwide ban on the compound wasn't until 2010. In the span of less than a century, we nearly destroyed our planet's atmospheric protection layer, a thing that's been in place for billions of years before the first primate ever held a pointy stick.
The effect was noticed well before 1987. General Electric deliberately legally suppressed scientific efforts to show the damage dichlorodifluoromethane refrigerant was doing to the ozone layer. The amount of damage didn't have to be as severe as it was by 1987, and the compound was only discontinued by the companies producing it when they were forced to.
Let me make this clear. In the span of a single human lifetime, we nearly cooked our fucking planet, and the fuckers responsible had to be dragged kicking screaming throwing up away from the Money Button that was causing it. They fought it every step of the way with every bit of dirty money and underhanded tactics to wring every drop of profit they could out of endangering literally every living thing on god's fucking green earth.
Tim Harford and the Cautionary Tales podcast did a very succint episode on this whole debacle, which explains everything in simple, chilling detail. I highly recommend, if you have time in your day to be equal parts horrified and blindingly outraged:
We don't talk about the ozone depletion as much now, because in the last 40 years since the Montreal Protocol and especially the 15 since the Kyoto Protocol, a lot of that damage has recovered and continues to do so. Now that the US had pulled out of the Kyoto Protocol, keep an ear out and see if we don't start becoming concerned about it again.
It's not a "trend" topic, we all just breathed a collective sigh of relief at averting an extinction level event of our own making, and turned some of our efforts to other crises that needed averting. Because there's always something, huh.
"Freon" is a brand name that was previously applied to dichlorodifluoromethane or Freon-12, CFC-12, or R-12, which causes rapid ozone depletion and were banned by the Montreal Protocol. The trademark "Freon" is now applied to some of the hydrofluorocarbon compounds that replaced it, which are allowed but regulated under the Kyoto Protocol as they do cause a slower depletion of ozone. You'll still see "freon" used in new products, but production of Freon-12 specifically is banned worldwide.

See what I can do.
<Part1> <part2> <part3>
Tumblr media
Spoiled idiot Bruce Wayne decided to adopt another child and Jason had only been dead for a few weeks... And what did Y/N do? She burned every Robin suit in the cave except Jason's old one, to remind spoiled idiot Bruce of his mistake.. The new kid only came out as Robin twice.
Y/N stands in the park throwing all of Robin's new outfits into the fire she started. Needless to say, Bruce comes running from work to stop her. Alfred has failed and is getting tired of trying to stop Y/N. No matter how hard they try to stop her from getting in, no matter how hard they try to protect the new suits by locking the doors, putting up new codes, and putting the suits in unbreakable glass, it doesn't stop Y/N.
“Stop!!” Bruce grabbed Y/N’s wrist “That’s enough you crazy girl! You’ve crossed the line!!” Y/N smiled at Bruce’s words, angering him was her goal, and she succeeded. Richard stood silently behind Bruce… Oh yeah, Richard came home after hearing the news of Jason’s death, and decided to train the new kid to be Robin, but first they had to stop Y/N.
"Oh please tell me what are you going to do now? Are you going to hit me? Kick me out of the house? Punish me by not going out? Give me what you have, because I won't stop until you cry more pain and regret than you did over Jason, he died because of you so you have to take responsibility for your actions... so act like an adult and take what comes your way..." Y/N pushed Bruce's hand off her wrist then patted his shoulder and walked back inside the mansion, on her way back she saw the new kid hiding behind one of the walls looking at her angrily with tears of frustration filling his eyes. Y/N simply gave him a wicked smile and continued on her way without any regrets.
The next day, Bruce was standing in front of her room door telling her that he had booked her an appointment with a psychiatrist. Y/N pushed Bruce out of the way and ignored him and went to make breakfast. But Bruce stopped her by grabbing her shoulder. Y/N was about to turn around to break his arm if she hadn't felt a needle prick her neck and everything went blurry and she lost consciousness. This was Bruce's plan with everyone... Richard, Alfred, and the new kid, they all planned this...
As Y/N tried to move and wake up, her headache was severe and the room was spinning in circles. When she tried to move her hand, she found that she was tied to a chair, her hands and feet bound. She tried to speak, but her tongue was still heavy... "I see you're awake, very good. Do you need some time to get your bearings or should we start right away?" Y/N lifted her head up, the voice was familiar... Who else but that doctor who claims to know how to treat mental patients... Leslie the devil... digs lies into people's minds so that they believe her... Pretending to be a victim... But she is a devil in human form. Jason went to her several times, and every time he came back from the sessions, he came back a different person... Someone who wasn't Jason, a stranger, so she forbade Jason from going to her...
Y/N bit her tongue to speak. “I see that spoiled brat had no other solution than to send me to the devil… right?” Leslie’s eyes narrowed at Y/N’s words. “It’s not appropriate to talk about your father that way. Bruce brought you here for your own good, you have anger issues.” Leslie said as she scribbled notes in her notebook. Y/N was silent for a moment before she smiled and said, “Well… show me how you can change for the better… just to let you know before we start that me being here now is going to cause a lot of problems so I hope you enjoy it with me.” Y/N laughed as she relaxed into chair, she couldn’t wait to see Leslie Thompkins fail at her job.
And so three days passed while Leslie kept asking Y/N questions and Y/N answered them with complete honesty.  This surprised Leslie.  “You answer the questions with such confidence.  I thought you would be stubborn and not answer…Are you planning something?”  It was already the fourth day, and Y/N had been in a good mood since she arrived until now.  Y/N laughed at Leslie’s words and said, “I thought you would never ask, and since today is the fourth day I will answer you. Actually, Bruce’s plan to bring me here… I knew about it before he drugged me.”  Leslie was surprised by Y/N’s words but she did not believe her.  “No way-..” Y/N interrupted Leslie and said, “Everything that’s happening now is part of the plan I made. Of course that spoiled brat put up security cameras all over the house, so I took advantage of that to monitor them… I had all the security cameras at my disposal from the beginning, so I knew what you and Bruce planned to do to stop me… Aren’t I a good actress?  Maybe I should get an award… What do you think?”  Y/N smiled mischievously at Leslie who was terrified.  Leslie picked up her phone to call Bruce and confirm the matter, but Bruce wasn’t answering the calls or even the messages.  She tried calling Richard, Alfred and even the new guy, but no one was answering.  Leslie turned to Y/N in fear and found that Y/N had been freed from the handcuffs.  “Leslie Thompkins..It's your end now.”

The roles have been reversed. Toji Fushiguro is your landlord…..How do you pay rent with no money???

Toji x femreader Wordcount: 1.3k
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ˗ˏˋ
"Slower…slower…unggghhhh…please go s-slower"
The whole bed is rocking back and forth. You swear it's an earthquake in your room. The ceiling light looks like it could fall any moment right onto you both
The man whose fucking you is so huge. His dick is fucking you up, it hurts so good.
he knows you secretly like it rough, which is why he doesn't take all your whining seriously. He always wants to see just how much more can you take.
You didn't really have a choice here. He's gonna keep ramming his thick cock into your tight cunt like there's no tommrow
Your moans get muffled by the pillow your holding onto for life. Although your relationship with this man may be undeclared, you are definitely sure about one thing, he has an insatiable sex drive
"Toji l'm begging you.. no more. we already did it in the morning"
It's true, he had dropped by unexpectedly right when you woke up earlier today, demanding you strip and bend over.
But considering the short time between then and now. Your whole body is much more sensitive reacting to each and everyone of his naughty touches.
He’s going to fast and hard, he's just ignoring your pleading, you're begging him to be more gentle
But instead he just keeps thrusting and leans down, holding you by your chin to kiss your puffy lips, with so much lust, this is his best attempt to shut you up. He loves the way you look back at him
His tight squeeze on your butt is making red indentations. You just wish his grip was a bit less aggressive, you weren't gonna run away or anything, you know there is no way to escape this tank of a man
"Stop... *squelch* ..complaing *squelch* ...when this hungry hole of yours can't seem to let me go" his heavy breaths combine with his low laughing.
"...you fucking whore"
The way he dominates over you "puts you in your place" ...has made you develop a certain attachment to him
Between his degrading responses, he leaves hickeys all over your nape and soft shoulders even biting the side of your neck, causing you to clench your pussy, suffocating his massive cock. He groans and moans softly, bucking his hips with more force.
He's desperate to do his favourite thing as of late. Filling up your greedy cunt with his creamy cum. He knows your desperate you are for it too. They way your toes curl right when you orgasm and your body shivers expecting him to finish right with you. You're just waiting for him to cum inside.
This is how you pay your landlord and you're ashamed of it.
The sex was so mind blowing that you never really had the chance to really think about what you were really doing
But in reality your body was being used...used by the most sexiest man you have ever laid eyes on. You find everything about him attractive, to the way he talks to how good he is at aftercare
But you often wonder, how will you ever develop or even create a proper relationship if he only sees you to fuck you, and the way he fucks you makes you incapable to speak after...every single time.
You just wish you had money so you could pay him real payments.
But your a full time college student, broke with no time for a job
You've tried to talk to him about this before but they way he always undresses you with his eyes just makes you forget anything that was ever in your mind.
After he finishes in you, you sigh in relief, maybe now's your chance to talk
"Toji, I-I was thinking about getting a job or something...u-uh so I could like pay you for real"
You don't move to face him. You choose to stay in the ass up face down position he's left you in, he's finally taking his big hands off your poor butt
But he keeps his dick inside of you as he whispers into your ear,
"you're my slut, so I don't need the money"
You do not respond. You're shameless pussy does all the talking instead. It started to pulse and twitch around his dick. Causing him to smirk at your reaction
He starts moving again, this time at a more manageable pace, making you feel every vien on his dick rub inside your walls
But alas, you do not have much strength left as you realiz hands are once again on your back holding you up, preventing you from collapsing
"You get tried so quickly baby...try your best to keep up"
how can he say that while he hasn't given you a proper break since you started??
You are no stranger to Toji's strength, after all he uses so much of it on you. Carrying you bridal style, holding you up against the wall, using his buff arms to trap you close. You can remember many past instances like those. This time you cum again rather quickly. you've lost count of how many orgasms you had.
Because of his semen pooling up in you, his dick is able to reach even deeper, sliding in easily with each thrust
"it's too.. deep" you whine still knowing he will just try harder to go further in
"Where is it?" He asks with a cocky expression
You stick out your ass more as you place your hand on your stomach. You feel the bulge his dick makes. He puts his hand on your hand pressing up on your belly making you whimper.
"Can you feel it better now hmm"
You don't know why but you nod. After seeing you have finally stopped whining a bit he starts talking again in a low voice
"I'm sorry for being rough...honestly I just can't help myself" his voice is so deep and manly you could listen to him talk for hours.
He pulls out and takes a sip of water from the nightstand. He thinks you can't take anymore
Your cheeks blush a dark shade of pink, why does he talk so sweet all of a sudden. You really feel humiliated now.
The whole time you were practically begging him to stop slower and now you want him to continue after he stopped on his own??? After he apologized so sweetly??
Were you that much of a whore that the moment he pulled out, you wish he didn't
He starts kissing you all over your back, trying to get you to face him and lay on your back but you wouldn't budge. He's never really forceful with you, you know his dirty talk is always an act to get you as wet as possible. A trail of his his saliva on your back from affectionate kisses making you feel adored.
You are embarrassed by the fact that you want another round
But you don't know what your doing to him. He's trying his hardest, controlling himself not to put his dick back into your gaping hole filled with his fluids.
He tries to hold himself back instead, continuing to kiss the back of your thighs, moving his face closer and closer to the inside of your legs, inches away from your dripping pussy.
Of course he's teasing you by not let his lips actually reach your needy pussy, but his hot breath on it, is making you squirm underneath his tight embrace
"Toji...can we do it again... please?" you say extremely quietly
He knew you would give in. His dick has stayed rock hard but your words are now making it throb
"you're such a slut for me baby, m'gonna fuck you so hard you're gonna regret asking"
He thrusted in you with so much force, at the same time pulling you towards him to take all of him in at once. Yup, you definitely beileved what he just said.
And so he does as promised and you try your best not to pass out while he fucks you sensless for the remainder of the night😊

damn why did Kyle’s ass block us tho
Continuing this Gaz blurb
*4 months later*
Gaz still felt guilty, and even worse… he couldn’t get off without recalling the way your body moved and voice sounded that night. Gaz was ruined. The innocent pictures he had of you when you two went to the beach once were like a playboy magazine to him. He tried a few hookups from shitty pubs but none compared to how you made him feel. Loved, warm, safe… happy.
He tried going on a few dates… one he accidentally called her your name as they were making out in his car. The other looked like you but lacked personality. Needless to say karma was biting Kyle in the ass.
“So you blocked her, after you took her to the fanciest steakhouse, wine back at her place while sharing secrets… and had the best shag of your life” soap says from the other side of the aircraft. “And let’s not forget all the cute couple shit you two had been doing”
“Who we talking about” ghost questions.
“Lass that Gaz was seeing months ago, and bloody blew it after a quick shag from the sound of it” soap snickers.
“I thought you were still seeing her” ghost questions.
“I didn’t think I’d actually sleep with her, that wasn’t my goal. And no, it’s been a while” gaz defensively replied.
Soap pinches the bridge of his nose “so your original plan was essentially a break off date”.
Gaz shrugs “I didn’t want her last memory of me to be me saying see you later after our usual Sunday walk. Plus we were never technically together”.
Prices eyebrows raised “So you just strung her along for a month and you were going to ghost her regardless of how the night ended”.
“Well… yeah and it was actually more like five months” gaz sheepishly replied.
The men went silent as they gathered their thoughts. Price being the first to speak up after a painful awkward silence “five months, you bastard she probably was falling in love with you, then you decided to pull the shittiest move a man can make”
“I panicked” Gaz shrugs and diverts his eyes from his captains burning gaze.
Ghost chuckles “wrong, you premeditated disappearing from her life. Sounds like you got a fear of commitment”.
Gaz defensive responds “I do not, it’s just with what we do it’s not worth the risk. I mean what if something happens”
“Sounds exactly like something a person with commitment issues would say” ghost quickly replied.
Soap decides to add fuel to the fire “Aye didn’t you do the same thing with the last gal you liked. Maybe it’s the chase you like. Love ‘em and leave ‘em“.
“Fuck off soap” Gaz responds trying to control his irritation.
Price sighs “I didn’t realize how much of my life I wasted having that mentality when I was your age. Had some fun one night stands but the loneliness catches up real quick. Granted things are turning up for me but boy do I feel like I missed out on that young love”.
Gaz starts to think about what price said. After a plane ride home in deep thought he asks price one last question before departing base “So what should I do to get her back”
Prices brows furrowed “You want something optimistic or something realistic”
“Fuck, realistic I guess” gaz leans against the doorframe of prices base office.
Price stands next to a filing cabinet and shakes his head “Honestly I’ll be amazed if she gives you as much as a moment to explain. But if she’s does let you, be honest about why you left and apologize. No point in lying when you have everything to gain and you can’t lose what you’ve already lost Sargent” price gives him a sincere look “regardless of how it turns out you need to let this be a teaching moment. Because maybe she doesn’t take you back, maybe life sends someone else your way. But if you get that lucky you know better than to fuck it up like this ever again”.
Gaz nods “Would flowers be a nice addition to the apology”.
Price smirks “I don’t think flowers will help your cause much, but maybe it’s sweeten her up”.
Gaz nods “thanks, see you later captain”
Gaz needs a plan to get you back, forever hopefully.
*the next day*
She wasn’t even home. So Gaz decides on waiting to see if you’ll come home anytime soon by sitting on your front door steps for two hours. He has no plans to leave until he sees your pretty face.
Gaz scrolls endlessly on his phone when the sound of heels awaken his senses, only to actually look up when he hears your voice “What are you doing here” you very clearly are not happy to see him.
Gaz stands up with flowers in his hand, clearing his voice he carefully starts his plan “I came to explain, but more importantly apologize”. Gaz sheepishly said.
Your eyes look down at the flowers in his hand, appalled. “No need honestly, I’ve moved on and I think you should to”.
Shit this isn’t going well Gaz thinks. Time to take the soft puppy dog approach. He takes a step forward to you and his eyes fill with hurt “Would you at least let me explain, if you don’t want to hear it I’ll leave now but at least let me be honest as to why I ran off”
You huff defeated, hard to say no when he’s looking at you like that but you can’t give in. “Nothing you can say will change my mind”.
“My job. It’s dangerous and I was worried that it wouldn’t work out because of the demands. And I didn’t plan on sleeping with you. Honestly I just wanted you to have a nice night before I disappeared” gaz trying to reach for your hand, you move back.
“That’s great Kyle. Well my boyfriend just left his office and I’m making dinner, so I really don’t have time for this” you fumble with your keys, as they slip to the ground Gaz picks them up and unlocks to door for you.
“At least let me help carry all this in for you and I’ll be on my way” he politely asked. Praying you’ll let him in.
You sigh a defeated “Fine”. You walk in the door first as Gaz grabs the rest of the bags on the porch. He watches as your hips sway, he can feel the blood in body start to boil. Stay calm, stay fucking calm.
Your home still smells like fresh cotton and lavender. Still perfectly tidy and comfortable. He looks over at that corner sofa where you two made out. He closes the front door and walks to the kitchen and sets the groceries on the counter, he notices a silver watch with a rather large band. Must be a big fella. That’s when he hears the front door open and close. A heavy set of footsteps approaches silently.
“I think you should get going now” you say plainly avoiding Kyle’s burning gaze. He hurt you too much for you to have a moment of doubt.
A deep voice speaks as the footsteps stop at the kitchen “Sargent”.
Gaz turns around to the voice in the room and swallows hard.
“Captain”

"I should have listened to you." I admit to War as I down another glass of sweet tea that Famine had poured for me. I smile in thanks to the elderly looking entity as she adds another stack of tamales to my plate. I had already eaten three plate fulls, but her cooking was so good it always left me hungry for more. Every time I saw her, it was like looking at someone's grandma.
"I told you so," war replied with a gruff scoff as he rolled his eyes. "I told you not to listen to my older brother. But does anyone ever listen to me? NoOoOo! I'm just war, the muscle head jock that only knows how to fight." He growls in frustration as he slams a fist on the table, causing the drinks and chip dip to wobble and the audible cruch of chips being crushed.
"Hey, hey! Watch the snacks meathead!" Famines voice rasps as she quickly moves the dip to safety. "That's was pur last bag of chips! Keep this up, and you won't be getting any desert after dinner, young Sprite!"
"It's always the last bag of chips," war retorted. "Just go to the pantry and get more.... and quit with the old lady act. We are all the same age!" Famine grumbles as she gets up, stomping off to the kitchen. War turns his eyes back onto me, the fire in them narrowing. "And don't think I didn't notice you putting the moves on my big sister, angle." He warned as he reached for his belt and slapped something on the table. It was hard to look at as its form kept changing. The only thing certain about it was it was a weapon of war. From guns to spears to swards to even a miniture helicopter, the weapon kept shifting. I think at one point I saw a mushroom cloud.
Quickly shaking the sunspots out of my vission i find my voice. "I assure you war, I was being sincere when I said Death had great cheekbones. And her smile is very calming and kind."
"Really now, lil' bro? Threatening our guests before the game even begins?" Came a jovial voice from the doorway. Walking in came a man that was near identical to War, except for one key difference. Whereas war was dressed in a tight fitting green shirt that showed off his muscles and camo pants, this guy was wearing the world's ugliest Hawaiian shirt and boardshorts. He ruffled wars hair with a smile. "You need to relax, man. Otherwise, you'll have the cramps when it finally comes time to ride. Besides, dont the mortals have a say: all is fair in love and war?"
"Stop touching me Conquest!" War whined, slapping his hand away as conquest sits next to him. "And your not love dumbass!"
"Are you sure about that?" Conquest teased. "Don't done people call it conquering the heart? I'm just saying, I think I would do a better job then cupid." Conquest says will giving the biggest shit eating grin to me. The grin was unsettling, being all teeth and no warmth. "Or of course you could always do a different kind of conquering in the bed ro-"
Conquest was interrupted by a slipper hitting him in the head. "While I am all for satiatings ones cravings, could you ot be so crass when talking about potential love lifes that may include our sister? Besides, you're freaking out the angle." Famine said, carrying out more chips and other asortsments of food, noticeably missing a slipper on one of her feet. "Now hurry up and help me set the table. Death said she would be late because of working late. So eat up and them we can head out and meet her at that nee club Odin just opend." As we set the table Famine leans over and wispers, "Oh and angel? Maybe this time, you should let Loki be your wing man. She is much more sensible then my himbo of a brother."
So far you have had a date with Destiny, flirted with Death, and danced with the Devil. You're going to have a serious chat with your wingman next time you go clubbing.

The sun was shining brightly in the sky, specks of white decorated light blue. Everything was too bright, too colorful, that he needed to squint his eyes and pull his hoodie to cover his face more. He hadn’t worn his mask for a while now, not since he was discharged. He just couldn’t be bothered to anymore, not finding any use for it when he didn’t need to separate himself between two lives.
But he regretted not wearing any now.
Despite the warm temperature, he was dressed in all black, with his jacket zipped up all the way. His appearance was a contrast to the pretty thing holding onto his forearm. You were skipping beside him, smiling cheerfully as you cooed at babies and greeted every dog passing by.
He made a mistake by glancing at you, to which you responded with a bright smile that made him grit his teeth.
“Don’t be so grumpy, Simon. We’re almost there” You said to him in such a sweet voice that sent a shiver down his spine- not the pleasant kind.
This was not a scenario Simon thought he would ever be in.
It all started when he first met you. His neighbor who wouldn’t leave him alone ever since he moved into the flat beside yours. He didn’t know how you even had the courage to approach him, he knew he was huge and imposing, intimidating everyone in and out of field. He was not charming in any way like you were, he was broody, even more so now that he was medically discharged from the military.
He got his heart punctured in a fight—a near-fatal wound. He was rushed to a field hospital, then airlifted back home, where surgeons fought to keep him alive. Hours of open-heart surgery. Internal bleeding. A cardiac patch to repair the damage. But somehow, he survived.
“Your heart took too much damage. Even with the surgical repairs, any extreme exertion could worsen the scar tissue, cause arrhythmia, or lead to heart failure. If you push too hard… you’ll need a transplant.” He remembered a doctor explaining  it to him.
The very last thing he liked about himself, his strength, was now useless since he couldn’t get his hands dirty. He was angry, but he knew there was nothing he could do, couldn’t argue with Price to at least get him to have Johnny’s revenge and kill Makarov.
You kept pestering him. Starting with knocking on his door to offer him some baked goods, approaching him for small talk even though the most he would respond with was  an annoyed grunt.
It was very obvious that you had a not-so-little crush on him. And he tried to make it obvious that he wasn’t interested, that you were better off trying to charm some better bloke out there that wasn’t full of emotional baggage.
But he was starting to learn that you were a stubborn little thing, and it started to get on his nerves.
And so, that’s how he got here. Letting you drag him to some cozy cafe in the city, you looked so pretty in your flowy sundress and white wedges. He hated it.
You clearly made an extra effort to look pretty for this date. For him.
While he couldn’t even be bothered to shower.
He only agreed to this date so you would see how uninteresting he was, so you would finally leave him alone for the better.
“So.. we talked a lot before.. but you rarely talked about yourself” You said to him after you both were sat at a table by the window. He had to hold back the urge to roll his eyes at that, because no- we didn’t talk a lot, you did, while he just endured listening to you.
“Why should I talk about myself..” He responded while looking down at his tea, stirring it so he had something to do with his hands to make this whole thing less awkward.
You giggled at that, and while he was used to you being such a sweetheart all the time, it still irked him. “Well.. this is a date.. so, that’s kind of the thing you have to do..” You replied.
“Only if you’re comfortable of course..!” You quickly added when he looked at you with his soulless eyes.
He grunted in response. Like he always did in every interaction with you.
“Well.. let me go first then” You uttered before rambling about yourself like he hadn't  heard it  all before already. You worked as a vet and often volunteered at various local shelters, you liked baking and always shared some with the others, especially him even though he still had quite a few stuffed at the back of his cupboard, uneaten.
Now, Simon knew he had been really cruel with you, especially with how you’ve been nothing but nice. But he couldn’t help it, he didn’t know why but the way you looked at him like he mattered, when he thought the total opposite, just rubbed him the wrong way.
You clearly fell hard for him for some reason, but he didn’t feel the same way. And he was not a total asshole, he made it very clear with his words and action toward you. “I’m not interested,” He said curtly when you asked him for a coffee yesterday. “..Please? Just this once, then I’ll leave you alone..” You responded. So he only agreed because he hoped you’d keep your word and leave him alone after.
But he couldn’t say that he hated you either. It’s what you do that pissed him off. He was not used to being treated this way, receiving this much affection, when he didn’t deserve it. He felt like a feral animal being forced to wear some cozy sweater. Made his skin itch, Irritating, left him wanting to tear it all at the seams.
It was him that he hated, not you. He shouldn’t be receiving this kind of attention for being the person he was.
“So.. that was all about me, your turn,” your voice snapped him out of his head.
“..Fine, what do you want to know?” He responded,  then took a sip of his tea that tasted horrible on his tongue. But he gulped it down anyway.
“Um.. what do you do for work? I don’t think I’ve seen you out much..” You asked with a tilt of your head.
“Was in the military.” Simon’s answer left out as many details as possible, telling you it’s classified when you asked questions about it.
He still had a lot of savings to survive living without working for a while. Until he got himself sorted out at least.
A soft giggle left  your lips at his secrecy. “Well.. alright, how about things you do in your free time?” you asked in a gentle tone, being so patient with him as always.
“Nothing much” He answered as he looked anywhere but at you who tried to blind him with your sunshine. He wasn’t lying, he spent most days distracting himself from his thoughts by working out, and when he wasn’t, he was content staying in his flat to zone out at anything playing on tv, at full volume to drown out the voices in his fucked up head. He was sure you could hear him from your place whenever he did that, but you never complained so he wasn’t really sure.
You didn’t respond for a few seconds, which was odd because you were usually so quick to fill the silence with anything you could think of. It was as if you were being more careful with him now in hopes that he would open up to you more eventually.
Stupid thought.
“I noticed you work out a lot, ” you then said with a cheeky smile as you eyed his biceps that were still obvious under his thick hoodie. “Once I saw you went on a run at 2 am,” you added.
He grunted again.
Yeah, he did that sometimes.. woke up in the early hours from nightmares, then tried to tire himself out by running. At least until his body deemed it enough, he didn't want  to put a strain on his heart like the doctor had said.
And when he couldn’t bring himself to go outside, he’d just stare at the wall while unconsciously picking on the stitches from some of the wounds he got from the last deployment. Finding comfort in the sting that distracted him from the heavy weight in his chest. Sometimes it caused him to bleed slightly, but it’s not like he couldn’t stitch it up again  himself. If anything, the pain he felt when doing so  grounded him.
But he couldn’t say that.
“Last time I did so much of a workout was when I got chased by a dog, ” you joked and laughed at yourself. Simon gave no reaction, he was staring at you in the eyes but it was obvious his mind was elsewhere.
You fidgeted in your seat at his lack of response and put on a smile. “So.. if you need a workout buddy, I don’t mind being one.. been wanting to start exercising regularly anyway” You then said shyly, looking up at him with those damn doe eyes.
Simon shrugged. “You wouldn’t be able to keep up”.
Wrong answer.
Because instead of taking it as a rejection, you took it as a challenge.
And you totally broke your promise to leave him alone after this date.
His time of solitude was filled with your sweet voice and giggles.
“Hey, why don’t we rest a bit..” You suggested the first time you invited yourself to his early morning run, panting and sweating already even though it had only been a short while.
He rolled his eyes and kept running at his pace. “Told you, you wouldn’t be able to keep up, ” he responded without looking at you, keeping his gaze forward.
Expecting you to give up and leave him alone, he was surprised when you instead started sprinting, laughing at the way his eyes widened. “Race you..!” you yelled over your shoulder.
Your footsteps kept getting farther and farther, and he could feel himself relaxing again. Finally some peace and quiet.
Simon didn’t bother to race you, content with being with himself along with the feeling weighing him down in his chest. From the damage he got on his heart, or something else, he wasn’t sure.
And as he continued with his run, he caught up with you eventually,  sitting on a bench.
“I won! ” You teased  him with a grin.
Simon didn’t respond, didn’t say that he wasn’t even interested in participating in the stupid race.
You didn’t take the hint of him wanting to be left alone, like  usual . And so, Simon had to endure with your yapping the whole way back to the flat.
“That was fun, Simon. I’ll join you again sometime, yeah?” You headed inside your own flat without waiting for his response since you were used to it by now. And for the first time, Simon appreciated your act of kindness.
It was not surprising when you kept tagging along with his morning run despite him being obviously bothered by it. He was pissed at first, but then your presence became familiar to him, so much so that he found himself looking for you when you didn’t show up.
He quickly shook his head. Damn, you were starting to invade his mind.
Grumbling under his breath, he dumped the thought of you before resuming his run.
Without your cavity-inducing voice to accompany him, he found himself lost in thoughts. Drowning in the cacophony of noises in his head: his dad’s yelling, his mum’s cries, the sound of gunshot to Johnny’s head.
“I said, I already have a boyfriend!” Out of nowhere, your voice snapped him out of his head. Just then, his eyes locked with yours.
“See?  That's him!” You looked relieved and immediately left the guy who had been bothering you to stand by Simon’s side. With a simple stare from him, the guy immediately tensed before hurriedly walking  away. He didn’t mean to intimidate him or help you, but you thanked him anyway.
Boyfriend. Him.
He didn’t think much of it, no. It was obvious that you only said it at the time so the guy would leave you alone.
That was until he heard you telling everyone else that. He overheard you talking to some neighbors who were curious about him, the brooding loner who lived beside you. He didn’t know why he stood back  and refused to  say anything when you told them you’ve been dating him. Maybe it didn’t matter to him what you or everyone else thought , or maybe he didn’t mind the thought of it. The former was more likely.
He thought about it  when he was back at his flat. Since when did you start thinking that?  Was it since  that so-called first date? He probably should say something about it. Not probably — definitely.
But then he remembered how fucking stubborn you were. How you kept pestering him even though he clearly ignored you, how you managed to convince him to go on a date with you, your uninvited presence during his morning run, the insistent knocking on his door whenever you wanted to share your baking with him.
He could already feel his head pounding at the thought of your reaction if he were to make it  clear to  you. Initiating a break-up already felt like a chore, especially with someone like you. His life already felt like hell ever since he was discharged, he really didn’t need another shit on his plate, and didn’t want to start any drama.
Alright, he’d play along for now. Your silly little fantasy would eventually pop after you saw what a burden he truly was.
“I can tell you never had anyone over, huh? Well, I feel honored..” You beamed when he invited you over. Big eyes sparkling as you took in the mess that is his apartment, piles of laundry he didn’t bother to fold after getting them out of the dryer, some leftover takeout on the coffee table swarmed by a trail of ants, dust particles in the air, the stench of it all.
“Go sit wherever.” His voice rumbled before he went to the kitchen and prepared the only thing he could even be bothered with: instant noodles.
When he got back from the kitchen, he found that you had tidied up a bit, windows opened for some fresh air, and you somehow found some trash bag  to put some of the mess in, which was now gathered in the corner. “I hope you don’t mind me touching your stuff..” You said with an apologetic smile.
“‘S fine” He responded. It was not fine, he didn’t like having other people in his private space, and now you had made it worse by messing up his familiar surroundings. But he didn’t feel like arguing.
He sat on the couch and ate in silence, didn’t even bother to hand you your plate, instead  letting you get to it yourself.
“Is this what you eat every day?” You asked when he felt your presence beside him. The tone indicated that you were genuinely curious and not judging. You probably noticed the trash in the kitchen was filled with instant noodles packages when you were retrieving your food.
He answered with a hum.
“Well.. you know, I like to cook so I don’t mind doing it for you too..” He heard you say and grunted in response.
But of course, you took it as an invitation to invade his personal space even more.
Simon’s previous plan of getting you to turn your nose up at him backfired. Now you didn’t only come over from time to time to give him cookies, but twice a day to feed him proper food.
And you didn’t stop there, no. Because when he opened the door to receive whatever it was that you  were giving him,as always, you had now begun inviting  yourself inside to eat with him, telling him about your day without him having to ask as he tried to not show how much he enjoyed the food. But you seemed to pick it up with how you started bringing larger portions, packing up the leftovers to fill his empty fridge.
You also turned his dump of an apartment livable. No more trash scattered around, his clothes are contained in his wardrobe, smelling of flowery laundry conditioner rather than the musty smell he was used to, the layer of dust on his furniture is  gone, and the nasty stench that used to linger in his apartment has been replaced with sweet lavender.
He didn’t like it at first, not a fan of his world being flipped upside down. To some people, the state he was in was miserable, sure. But it was comforting in a way because that was his personal sanctuary isolated from everyone, he was used to the darkness consuming him that he recoiled at the blinding light that was you.
Now however, he had just accepted his fate. His previous expectation of finally having you leave him alone once you see how miserable he was had  failed. Does it frustrate him? It probably should, but he was used to how stubborn you were by now.
You took his lack of response as acceptance. But is it? Not  really.
Being around you still made him feel on edge since everyone would see how much of a sweetheart you are, which automatically meant he was an  asshole. He pushed your hand away every time you tried to touch him because even just the thought of it made him want to flay himself alive.
Why do you even like him? Do you really like him? Or do you have this hero complex and saw him like one of those poor animals you rescued at work?
Well, he doesn’t know, but if he paid attention to the way you looked at him, he’d notice how you never looked at him with pity, just pure adoration like how despite everything he was worthy of love.
He eventually found the answer when he slept with you for the first time. It was something that he did just to get his needs filled.  He was only a man after all, and you were there, pretty and willing. He saw faint marks on your thighs, some neat lines from cuts that told him you did it yourself.
Leaving your sleeping form on the bed, he went to the bathroom and saw more confirmation of what he suspected. At one of the cabinets, he found some pills, anti-depressants. A few of them were left in a cylinder container with a label that was fading like it’s been left untouched for a while. Did you give up trying? Or maybe did it not help you  the way that you thought  it would?
You two weren’t as different as he thought after all.
So perhaps you saw yourself in him in a way that he couldn’t. That you were so kind to everyone, even to an asshole like him, to make you hate yourself less. How you were so nice and patient with him to make up for how you couldn’t treat yourself that way.
You thought his life was worth more, so you didn’t care if loving him took pieces of your own.
He didn’t say anything about it, but he found himself  being less  hostile towards you.
“-They’ve been ganging up to bully me, acting so tough until I stand for myself?” You vented to him about your day at work one night, lounging on his bed as he scrolled on his phone.
“Can’t believe people like them exist. Adults —some of them married with children — but act so childish. ” You continued despite his lack of response.
“I know I should tell HR about it.. but doesn’t it just make it worse? Basically everyone at work is in on it.. plus I don’t know if HR would actually do something about it anyway-”
“Why don’t you just quit your job?” He mumbled, cutting off your sentence which made you look up at him, surprised at his response. And then you smiled with a faint blush on the high of your cheeks, like you were happy that he was actually listening.
Wow, you really need to raise your standard if having your partner doing the bare minimum made you gleam.
He didn’t push you away when you snuggled to his side.
“Well.. the thing is, I’m really stubborn. So resigning feels like I’m quitting the battlefield, losing. And I don’t lose.” You answered with a cheeky smile that actually made him snort. What a ridiculous mindset, but it was not odd for you.
Your smile widened at his amusement.
“What are you gonna do then?” He asked when you didn’t say anything and just stared at him with those loving eyes. Ugh, he was still not used to being looked at that way.
“Well.. I’m gonna act like an adult unlike them, be professional and show that their words don’t affect me.. kill them with kindness and all. Maybe it won't stop them, maybe I’ll get fired eventually.. but that’s the only realistic thing I could think of..” You rambled again.
“Am I pathetic?” You then added in a more somber tone, like you already thought that about yourself. That usual shine in your eyes dimmed and for a second he thought he saw the you that was hidden from the world.
“Yeah,” He thought to himself out loud without meaning to. And seemed like it was an incorrect response from the flicker of disappointment seen in your eyes before you hid by nuzzling your face to a pillow. Were you expecting him to comfort you? Did he raise your expectations of him just because he listened?
Simon looked away, he was never good at comforting people so he didn’t know what to say. After a moment of silence, he heard you snoring softly.
As he too closed his eyes, he thought to himself about what he had been feeling. While he still found himself disappointed  waking up another day, the thought of you feeling the same void in your chest made him feel better because he knew he wasn’t alone. He didn’t know how you could live everyday with a smile, everyday which made him respect you a bit.
He was used to your company by now, you cleaned his place, fed him, and fulfilled his sexual needs, and he was content with that.
But did he start feeling the same way as you?
Receiving your affection still gave him goosebumps, he never touched you tenderly like a boyfriend should, he was still as grumpy as ever around you. Though he didn’t push you away like he used to, he let you touch him, let you talk his ear off. But did it really mean anything? He  merely tolerated you. No more loathing, but he couldn’t say that he liked you. He just didn’t care to feel for you, positively or negatively, indifferent. So perhaps not.
He can’t love you anyway. It was one thing to be loved, it was another to love. The latter would give you power over him.
He can’t let himself be vulnerable again. He remembered how it was with Johnny, the hurt he felt when he got taken away in front of his eyes, dying in his arms.
He didn’t want to feel that loss again, so he settled with not having.
But then he let you kiss him.
It wasn’t like you two never kissed before but this was different, it was not something that would end up with the  two of you having sex.
He was smoking outside late at night, watching the flickering stars, and thought of the time he did the same thing a long time ago.  He was on  deployment, . taking a break at a hideout after a long day of fighting and running.
He had felt more alive then , despite the horrors he’d seen everyday, compared  to the peaceful yet boring life he had now.
Johnny was with him that night, yapping his ear off like he always did, exchanging shitty jokes. He kissed him that night.
So maybe that’s why it happened. When you somehow found him and invaded his solitude- like you always did, filling the silence with whatever rant you had  in store from the day.
Then the conversation slowed down, and he noticed you kept glancing at his lips. And when you stopped talking, you leaned in.
And he didn’t move, didn’t turn his head away.
Didn’t reciprocate the kiss and just stood still as you kissed him.
But it still made you smile. And you told him how life had never been great to you for a long while. How the universe has been  testing you harder lately.
And then you said that he was the best thing you had at the moment. You thanked him for whatever reason.
And he felt his heart stop .
He was half-listening to all that, was lost in thought about why he let you kiss him so softly, why hadn’t he pushed you away. But this? It made it all clear.
He had , in a way, developed  feelings for you. He didn’t want to call it love, but he cared at least.
If not, he wouldn’t have reacted so negatively to that remark. Would’ve stayed nonchalant and stayed there, continued to smoke, and acted indifferent.
Instead, he left. Leaving you who only stared at his retreating figure.
Because you were wrong, he wasn’t the best thing you had in your life. But for some reason, you saw him as your savior. He gave you a purpose, loving him was giving you some kind of fucked up hope. A reminder to yourself that your heart wasn’t broken because it was still beating.
He had to stop you there because he was the last person on earth who was able to give anyone salvation. He couldn’t save you, you couldn’t save him. He needed to get away from you.
You would be better off without him. That was proof that he cared about you, not wanting you to  chase  after some false hope. You deserve better.
But he could just leave, move out, and go far away. It would give him a nasty itch that would bother him wherever he goes. And he had a lot of shit haunting him already.
No, he needed to get it to your thick skull that whatever this was, was not happening.
He still didn’t like the thought of initiating a break-up because it was such a fucking chore. But he had to do this, for your sake.
And so the next day, he knocked on your door.
When you opened it, you looked up with those big eyes sparkling and beamed like you didn’t just spill  your heart out last night.
“I want to talk,” He said as he looked you in the eyes.
He was hoping you’d get the message with how intense his stare was but you just smiled and nodded. “Sure, come in-”
“No,” He cut you off immediately. It was better this way, so he could leave immediately after.
“I want to break up,” he continued.
He watched you stay silent, not showing any emotion, and then blinked before smiling again.
No hint of surprise, anger, or sadness. Like you had been expecting this conversation for a long time. Perhaps you’ve been hurt too much and more, and now you just felt numb.
“No,” you said with a giggle like he was just telling a joke.
“What do you mean, no?” He asked incredulously.
“I meant no, Simon.” You responded a bit more firmly.
“Why? I’ve never even loved you,” He said harshly. Cold and sharp, masking the feeling that was starting to bloom poorly in the cold vessel that was his heart.
“I don’t care..” You said in a softer tone, locking your eyes with him for a few seconds before looking down. “I don’t care if you  don’t feel the same way, Simon. Being with you makes me happy”.
“I’m being selfish, I know, I’m sorry..” You added, looking up at him again.
“How?” He couldn’t help but ask, feeling bewildered.
“It just is.. I can’t explain it, can’t really explain love..” You answered with an empty chuckle.
“No, why do you even love me? ” He asked again.
You smiled and tilted your head, the smile reached your  eyes as you looked at him with adoration. “You didn’t need to do anything to deserve love, Simon, ” you answered.
And he wondered if you could say that to yourself.
Simon let out a long sigh, letting out all the frustration he felt ever since he first met you. “I’m not really in a state for a relationship right now..” He didn’t mean to say anything about himself, it left his lips before he could stop it. But he hoped it would do something.
“Just give it some time..” You responded.
He frowned.
“I’m not giving up on this relationship, Simon.. or you,” You then continued and looked him dead in the eye.
Stubborn little thing.
He shouldn’t be surprised, should be used to how stubborn you could be, but he was.
He wondered if there was a limit to your stubbornness.
He really regretted agreeing to that first date, he was stuck with you now.
And if he was hurting you before by simply being himself. Now he would actually put in an effort.
Being back to square one where everything you do irritated  him. He did his best to avoid you, shut you down with a look whenever you tried to talk to him, not leaving a gap for you to have any hope of things changing.
But despite all that, you still loved him.
Still looked at him like he hung the moon, somehow always managed to find him when he was out for some fresh air. And so he tried leaving his flat less often, but you still knocked on his door every day. He didn’t answer, but when he eventually opened the door, he saw your homemade food packed nicely with a little note.
Like you thought this was just a little fight that would eventually pass if you kept treating him nicely,as you usually did, and kept apologizing.
Always so fucking stubborn.
You were too kind, never cried, didn’t know when to quit, and never run away.
That's why you’d just hurt each other. That's just the way you two lived.
And It really pissed him off.
If being loved made his skin crawl before because he didn’t think he was deserving, wasn’t used to receiving any, like a feral snarling and hissing at some innocent girl that tried to pet it. Now he felt even worse because you made him  treat you like this, made him an even more horrible man than he already was . For him to be so cruel to such a sweet little thing, he hated himself even more.
There were worse things he could do. He could make it very clear if he put a hand on you, slapped you across the face just once. But he couldn’t, no matter how horrible he thought he was, how irredeemable his soul was, there was always a voice at the back of his head saying "Don't be like your father" eerily similar to his mum's.
He doubted it would work anyway, seeing his mum still stayed with that piece of shit.
So he did the next worst thing he could think of.
Heavy boots stepped into the dimly lit bar, and with a slow, deliberate motion as  he settled onto a stool and ordered a glass of whiskey. The air was thick with cigarette smoke and the low hum of conversation. His eyes flickered sideways, scanning his surroundings with a sharp unreadable look. The bar was filled with a mix of tired regulars and weekend wanderers. He made no move, but there was something in his posture, in the way his fingers drummed lightly against the bar, that suggests he was waiting for something. Or someone.
His presence attracted attention immediately when he stepped in. Curious glances strayed to him before trailing away at the sight of his intimidating demeanor. He was used to that, he was not new to this game. And as expected, soon enough a pair of eyes lingered. A woman, confident and clearly interested, slid into the seat beside him, nursing a cocktail. She glanced his way, smirking slightly.
“You look like you got a lot on your mind..” She purred with a tilt of her head.
“Maybe.” He lifted his glass, voice still quiet.
The woman took a long sip of her cocktail, humming with intrigue.
“You waiting on someone?” She asked.
“No,” He responded.
And then there was silence, not uncomfortable but thick with something unspoken. He let her watch him, feeling her gaze trailing from head to toe, admiring his physique, and seemed to like what she saw.
But he didn’t meet her gaze directly. Taking another sip of whiskey, he then set the glass down.
“Just.. seeing who’s around.” He mumbled before he finally looked at her.
The woman raised a brow, interest sparking. She then smirked, stirring the ice in her glass with a lazy flick of her wrist. And then leaned in slightly, testing the waters.
“So, just looking? Or hoping to find something?” She asked as she fluttered her eyelashes.
His eyes settled on her like a slow burn which made her blush. Even though his mind was somewhere else, she didn’t seem to notice though.
He lifted his whiskey, taking a slow sip. “Haven't decided yet.” He spoke, not quite answering, not quite denying.
She exhaled a soft laugh. “Mysterious. That your thing?”
He responded with a shrug. “Just don’t waste words”
She watched him for a moment, like she was trying to figure out if he was a challenge worth pursuing. “And if I wanted to waste a few?”.
He didn’t smile, but he set his glass down, turning his body just a fraction more toward her. She was pretty enough, and clearly interested in him. He wasn’t picky anyway, just needed anyone to get this done with.
“Guess that depends on how you’d do it.” He responded.
“Well... I could start with a name..” She said before telling hers and asking  for his. But he couldn’t care less. His mind was a mess, making it a struggle to pay attention.
Without hesitation, he gave her an old name he hadn’t used in a while. A name that separated who he was and what he did. And what he was doing right now, was almost as horrible as what he had done in the military.
“Ghost?” She asked playfully like she thought he was joking.
He took another sip of his whiskey and said nothing.
“Alright.. Ghost,” She purred and leaned in even closer, being bolder. “What’s a man like you doing here alone?”
“Maybe I was waiting for someone worth wasting time on,” He answered bluntly.
That seemed to intrigue her even more rather than discourage her. She tilted her head, grinning. He was quiet, but not passive. He was waiting, watching, letting her step into his space but not too close. It was a different kind of confidence. The kind that makes people lean in without even realizing it.
“Lucky me, then,” She said before taking another sip of her cocktail.
The conversation stayed slow, measured. He didn’t flirt the way most men do, didn’t try to impress. He just listened. Let the silence stretch when it needed to. And somehow, that made her want to fill the spaces with more.
Another drink. Another shift closer.
“You gonna make me do all the work here?” She said after a lull in the conversation, tilting her head playfully, teasing.
He blinked at her, slowly. “Thought you were enjoying yourself.” He mumbled, keeping his eyes on her.
She laughed, shaking her head. “You gonna take me somewhere quieter, or are you just going to keep watching me like that?”
Finally. He didn’t know if he could take another back and forth. He just wanted to get to the point.
He didn’t answer immediately. Just finished his whiskey, set the glass down, and stood up.
“Let’s go,” He said. She followed.
The rest of the night was a blur. Lips locking with each other as soon as he opened the door to his flat, his feet moved on their own, stumbling in a dance that led them to his bed. Her hands pulled on his clothes, and soft giggles escaped her lips when he went down on her.
Came to think of it, it was the first time he had  brought  a stranger over to this flat he now called home. It wasn’t like he was a stranger to one-night stands , but he never could be bothered to ever since he moved here. There had been too much going on in his head, even more so when you started invading his mind.
He regretted it.
Regretted not doing this sooner.
It felt good, to be able to release some steam without feelings attached. To be lusted at without being loved, engaging in pleasure with some faceless stranger he wouldn't meet again. He didn’t need to endure a loving whisper of ‘i love you’. It didn't make him feel vulnerable like when he did it with you, he was fully in charge.
The morning light slipped through half-closed blinds, casting long streaks across the room. The air was  thick with the remnants of last night—alcohol, perfume, the quiet warmth of tangled sheets. The woman stirred, stretching languidly before she turned towards him, only to find his back facing her as he stood by the balcony, tending to a cigarette.
“Morning,” She said softly, still drowsy.
“You should go,” Simon uttered flatly.
While he couldn’t see her face, he could hear the frown in her voice. “..What?”
He ran a hand through his already messy hair before finally meeting her gaze, his expression unreadable —cold. “Time to go” The words are clipped, no room for argument.
She sat up, gripping the sheet around her, studying him. “Wow. Straight to that, huh? No coffee, no small talk?”
He exhaled  sharply through his nose, but it’s not quite a laugh. More like an acknowledgment of how predictable this must look. “This wasn’t that.”
He kind of forgot how the morning after was. How some people expected something more and didn’t get the hint from the get-go. He was used to you who tolerated his behavior, never expecting  him to be soft or tend to you  after. You’d get up and prepare  some breakfast , while he laid there and stared at the ceiling.
He turned his head and watched as this stranger’s face contorted in irritation. She was searching for any trace of the man from last night, the one who let her in just enough to make her think there was something worth chasing. But now he’s a wall, solid and immovable.
“Guess I should’ve seen this coming,” She said harshly, a pity to herself.
“Probably,” He responded just as blunt.
That probably stung more than it should. She exhaled, shook her head, then threw back the covers and stood up, grabbing her clothes from where they were carelessly discarded the night before. He didn’t turn away, didn’t offer to help— because why should he?
She pulled on her dress, shoving her heels onto her feet before facing him one last time. “Are you  always this charming in the morning?”.
“Just honest,” he said flatly, flicking his cigarette.
“Honest? Please. You act like you don’t want anyone close.” She sneered.
Then, he finally turned around to face her. “Now you get it” he said as his soulless eyes met her fiery ones.
Just like that, it’s over. She didn’t say another word, just grabbed her things and walked out, he followed her behind to lock the door.
And then he saw you.
What happened last night was obvious from his appearance alone, looking disheveled, shirtless, with some lovemarks across his chest. And he let you take it all in, he waited for the pang of regret to appear in his chest, for you to react, cry, yell, run. But instead, you just sighed and smiled at that woman when she passed you by.
“I have to go to work earlier today, but I  already made you some breakfast,” You said and handed him a Tupperware, kissed his cheek before walking away. Like he didn’t just cheat on you, like you were used to pretending  everything was okay.
There was a lump in his throat and he swallowed it down immediately. Regret.
He shouldn’t feel any regret, didn’t allow himself to feel it.
It was cruel to pull the knife out after he’d stabbed you deep. It was better to leave the knife in so you wouldn’t bleed out.
So he didn’t call out to you to apologize or explain himself. He simply turned around and got back inside, closing the door behind him.
Because he knew if he were to change for the better you would just forgive him, and that would be horrible. He didn’t deserve to be loved by you then and even more now after what he just did.
Best thing he could do right now is to continue what he’s doing. To hurt you so you’d eventually hate him and leave.
This is for your own sake.
And so, he continued. Bringing strangers home each night and fucking  them without making an effort to be subtle. One time, he did it when you were home, when you could surely hear every noise  through the wall. However, it didn’t affect you in the slightest bit. You still brought him food, still greeted  him with that fucking smile, still talked to him with endearment. Like nothing happened, or that you refused to acknowledge anything had happened.
His only hope is the almost unnoticeable flicker in your eyes as you tried to hide how this had  started to affect you, how you approached  him less and less.
But you never left him.
So he’d keep doing what he could do best, to hurt. And maybe, eventually you’ll get it. Hopefully.
The night was calm, draped in a velvety darkness that stretched endlessly above, safe for the moon shining brightly. Its light poured through the window, stretching long, pale streaks across the floor, illuminating dust motes drifting in the still air. A distant murmur beneath the hush of the wind. The air was cool, slipping through the open window, carrying with it the faint scent of rain on the pavement.
Outside, the world was at peace, yet his room was steeped in shadow. The  air was thick, heavy, pressing down like an unseen weight. The curtains swayed slightly from the draft, their slow movement the only sign of life in the dimly lit room.
He laid on his bed, zoning out as he stared at his ceiling. The stillness around him wasn’t peaceful—it was hollow. The kind that settled deep, coiling in the spaces between breaths. It was one of those days when he didn’t feel like doing anything, content to stay in one place all day.
So he didn’t go out for another conquest tonight. But he did need to eat, so when he heard a knock at his door, he let you in.
Now, the silence was filled with a sizzle of oil, the quiet clatter of a pan being shifted. The warmth of it seeped into the air, cutting through the lifeless stillness that had settled over him like a second skin. He stayed on the bed, while you were there, just beyond the doorway, tending to whatever was on the stove. The soft scrape of a spoon against a bowl, the rhythmic chop of a knife against the cutting board—it was all steady, unhurried, you’ve done it a hundred times before after all. Made him feel like he wasn’t alone.
His breath came a little slower now, his mind drifting between the weight of exhaustion and the quiet pull of that warmth beyond the door. He didn’t get up, not yet. But with you around the corner, the dark didn’t feel so endless.
Whatever bit of calmness he felt then was taken away when he heard another sound coming from the door.
Not a knock, but an insistent banging.
There was a feeling of unease at the back of his head, but he ignored it.
Which he soon realized to be a mistake.
“Coming..!” He heard you yell and approach the door. Being so understanding since you knew he didn’t want to meet anyone at the moment.
He closed his eyes and couldn’t help but listen to the conversation.
When you opened the door, you saw some men dressed in all black towering over you. Their expressions were hard, sharp eyes pinning you in place, giving  you goosebumps.
“Is Simon Riley around?” The one at the front asked.
Your hand gripped the handle of the door, wanting to slam it shut but you knew it would make it worse, might get them agitated, and would try to break in anyway.
“Who..? I think you got the wrong place- sorry..” You said as calmly as you could, but it seemed like you failed with how they didn’t seem to buy it.
“Don’t think we do, sweetheart.” The other said and pushed the door open with his feet when you tried to close it. His eyes caught a pair of large boots, Simon’s boots, and then glanced at the other.
Despite your best efforts, the men made their way in and immediately scattered around to search the place. Furniture  pushed around, drawers were pulled out to spill  all of its content onto the floor.
Eventually, they headed to the other rooms in the flat. And you made a mistake by trying to prevent one of them who approached the bedroom.
You sighed in relief when you saw the bed was empty. But it was too late, they noticed your reaction and knew you were hiding something.
They were now gathered around you, talking in a language you don’t understand. And then, your arm was yanked, you were being pushed around, forced to follow them as they exited the apartment.
“W-wait, where are you taking me..!? let go..!” You screamed in panic which made one of them clasp his hand to your mouth.
“Don’t worry about it, if you’re important enough to him he’ll come to us immediately to save you..” He said, before clicking his teeth when you kept struggling.
“If not- well..” The other one behind you chuckled and reached out to grope your curves. “We could have a little fun before getting rid of you.. you’ve seen too much anyway”.
You froze at the way they leered at you. Tears welling up in your eyes before you fought back like your life depended on it– because your life depends on it.
You bit the hand on your mouth hard, kicking around, pulling, and hitting anyone at arm length.
Didn’t need to win the fight, just needed to keep struggling, make some noise until hopefully someone– anyone noticed and called for help.
They overpowered you easily, and you were starting to give up hope when a damp cloth was pressed to your nose and mouth. But of course, you were stubborn and made them struggle as much as you were.
Everything went in a blur. Suddenly, you were tossed aside when something huge rammed the one holding you to the wall. You laid on the floor, holding your head which was pounding as you tried to focus on the scene in front of you while  the world spun. Black dots danced in your vision.
Bloodshed.
A masked figure moved with lethal precision. You couldn’t see his face fully but you were certain of who he was. A knife gleamed in his grip, flashing under the dim light as he drove it into the first man’s throat. Blood sprayed, and before the others could react, he turned, slashing across another’s chest. The man screamed, stumbling backward, clutching at the gaping wound.
He moved like his old name, slipping between them, dodging fists and blades, his knife finding a home in the flesh over and over again. His body still remembered who he was before everything. The Ghost.
One man lunged at him, but he ducked, driving his knife up into the attacker’s ribs. Another came from behind—too late. The stranger spun, slashing his throat in a single, fluid motion. Bodies fell around him, the floor slick with crimson.
It was a massacre.
Simon was hiding outside all this time. He climbed out the window and kept himself flat to the wall as he waited. And he should have just stayed hidden, should have just waited until the help he called would come. That would be smarter, safer.
But he couldn’t bring himself to. Hearing your screams, your cries. He just couldn’t bring himself to do nothing. Perhaps, it was because it was the first time he saw you truly break. And he didn’t like that, even though all this time he tried to break you. Hypocrite.
For the first time ever he wanted to see that damn smile on your face.
It was as if his body moved on its own, slipping inside and going on a rampage.
You didn’t run nor hide, looking around for something to do, to be useful yourself despite how  you lacked any knowledge in combat.
A click.
The last man standing, who was trembling, raised a gun. Aimed it at him.
And you didn’t think—you just moved.
He watched you throw yourself between them. A deafening gunshot rang through the air. And  white-hot pain exploded at the side of your head.
His eyes widened at the familiar scene flashing in front of his eyes, from when the one he loved died the same way.
Your knees buckled and you fell.
Somewhere in the distance, someone screamed. His own voice that he didn’t recognize, low and furious, filled the air.
He could feel his heart thumping in his ears as he froze.
Another mistake.
Simon was too shocked, too focused on you to pay attention to the last man.
A blinding pain exploded in his chest. His breath hitched as he stumbled, the world tilting. The force of the impact sent him to his knees. He pressed a shaking hand to his shirt, feeling warmth bloom beneath his palm.
He gritted his teeth, forcing himself up. His body protested, his heart hammering wildly—too wildly. His pulse was erratic, his vision blurred, but he wasn’t done yet.
The gunman aimed again.
With the last of his strength, Ghost lunged, knocking the weapon aside just as it fired. The shot went wide. Knife lodged deep into the man’s throat, sending him gasping to the ground.
Then—silence.
His legs gave out, his body slumping against the bloodied carpet. His breath came in short, uneven gasps, blowing warm air beneath his mask. The wound was bad but worse than that—his heart was failing. He could feel it, every skipped beat, every strangled attempt to keep going.
The last thing he heard before slipping into unconsciousness was the distant wail of sirens.
When he woke, everything hurt. The sterile scent of the hospital filled his lungs, monitors beeping steadily beside him. He found himself disappointed for waking up once again, for surviving everything, to live another day. Just when he thought it was all over.
His former captain and sergeant, who had been waiting outside, were allowed in after the medical staff checked on his condition.
“How are you feeling Simon? ” John asked as he pushed his former lieutenant back down when he tried to sit up.
“Horrible,” He responded curtly.
John then explained everything that happened. Some old enemies he made in the past seeking revenge. How everything was taken care of during the time he was unconscious.
Simon just stayed silent the whole time. Not relaxing a bit at the news.
Then, John’s voice softened, as if to speak more carefully as he told him about your condition.
Brain death.
Just then, he finally relaxed. His shoulders sagged and he had to hold himself back from sighing in relief
Finally, you were gone.
A cruel thought. But really, it was better for you to not be around him anymore. You would only get hurt more whether he tried to be better or worse, it didn't  matter. And if death was the only thing that could save you from him, then so be it. Your life was torture anyway from what he’d seen, as much as his life was. If anything, he was envious.
But then John didn't stop talking.
Simon felt his heart stop as he processed every word, his limbs went cold, and his throat felt constricting.
“The gunshot had torn through scar tissue from your previous injury, weakening your heart even more. The doctors had stabilized you, but your heart wouldn’t last much longer. Without a transplant, you were living on borrowed time.” John explained his injury to him, which made Simon turn his head to look his former captain in the eyes.
No.
John smiled, not  noticing  how Simon looked at him with horror. “You would’ve died if it wasn’t for her, Simon”.
You were an organ donor.
Of course you fucking are.
He was in need of an immediate transplant and you were there, compatible with him  in a way that you two weren’t before.
His ears drowned every word  after that. He caught fragments—something about them trying to reach your family, but no one responded, and the consent form you’d filled years ago from when you signed up for the program, became a greenlight to save his life. To give up yours entirely.
"You're a lucky bastard Simon, a rare bird she was." Kyle finally spoke up beside him, and Simon looked at him who sported an apologetic smile. He wanted to punch that smile, because no- he didn’t feel lucky at all.
His heart- your heart, thumped in his chest. Climbed up his throat, to his skull, defeaning.
Simon Riley considered himself to be  a level-headed man, all the way from his childhood to his days in the military and after. He wasn’t one to make a scene.
So he didn’t recognize who was being held down to the bed by the men beside him as he started screaming and trashing  the bed, almost pulling the tubes that were  attached to him.
You were a part of him now.
He could never get you away from him, huh?

I absolutely love your work! Could I request something where the reader is not the most active person, like... She doesn't like running, she's not fit, she's terrible at fighting. She maybe does research, but that's all. But she's good at picking clothes, she always makes sure Sam and Dean look professional/appropriate to what they'll be doing. And she makes absolutely AMAZING apple pie, and she cooks, and all - just helps "passively", not "actively". So one day she decides that "alright, that's enough, I'm only causing trouble" and leaves - and at first the boys don't care, since she "wasn't too useful" - but after like a week or two they notice that they miss the apple pie, they miss someone who could help them with looking better, especially Sam, who realizes how deep in love with her he is? And maybe she comes back?
I'm sorry if it's too specific, or too much details, or anything😅😅

The motel room is quiet when you slip out.
Your bag is packed, everything neat and folded because, well—of course it is. You aren’t a mess. You don’t do things hastily or without thinking. But you’ve thought about this—leaving—long and hard, and the conclusion is always the same.
You aren’t useful.
Sure, you help. You make sure Dean’s FBI suit isn’t wrinkled and that Sam has something other than plaid to wear when interviewing victims. You keep the bunker stocked, and you make damn good apple pie.
But you can’t run. You can’t fight. You can barely hold a gun without it shaking in your hands.
And you’re tired of feeling like dead weight.
So you leave.
No note, no big speech—just a quiet exit in the middle of the night, the way you’re sure they’ll forget you.
Because you? You’re replaceable.
Right?
At first, the boys don’t notice.
They wake up, see that your things are gone, and shrug it off. Maybe you got tired of the life. Maybe you found something better.
They don’t talk about it.
They just move on.
Then things start feeling off.
Not all at once—just little things.
Like how Dean’s shirts are suddenly wrinkled as hell, and his ties are never quite right. Or how Sam keeps losing his laptop charger because you’re not there to remind him to bring it.
And the food? Absolute garbage.
Dean burns everything. Sam tries to cook and nearly poisons them both. They eat diner food three times a day, and after two weeks, Dean stares blankly at the menu and mutters, “God, I miss pie.”
Sam’s fork pauses mid-air.
It’s the first time either of them has said it out loud.
Dean catches himself, scowls, and shoves a bite of pancakes into his mouth. But the damage is done.
They do miss you.
The bunker feels wrong without you.
Your room is empty, hollow in a way Sam can’t stand. He stops by more often than he wants to admit, staring at the bed like it might hold answers, like it might tell him why you left without a word.
At first, he assumed it didn’t matter. But now—now it’s everywhere.
It’s in the little things.
Like how there’s no warm light from the kitchen in the morning, no soft hum of music while you bake. No one teasing Dean about his terrible diet or fixing Sam’s collar before an interview.
No one who makes them feel like they have a home.
It takes Sam longer than he’d like to admit to realize what it means.
He doesn’t just miss you.
He loves you.
And he needs you back.
Finding you takes time.
Sam spends hours searching, fingers flying over the keyboard until—finally—he gets a hit.
Dean doesn’t argue when Sam says, “Let’s go.”
Because he misses you too.
You stare at them when they show up at your new apartment.
“...What are you doing here?”
Sam takes a slow breath. “We need to talk.”
You cross your arms, trying to hold your ground. “There’s nothing to talk about.”
Dean scoffs. “Bullshit.”
Sam shoots him a look, then turns back to you, softer. “We didn’t realize how much we needed you,” he admits. “Not just for the small stuff—for everything.”
You blink, and Sam steps closer, voice steady.
“You make us better. You make us feel like we’re more than just hunters. More than just the job.”
You swallow hard. “I—I thought I was just in the way.”
Sam shakes his head. “You were never in the way.”
Dean chimes in. “Look, we’re idiots, okay? We should’ve said something when you left.” He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. “But the truth is—we suck without you.”
Your throat tightens.
Then Sam says, quietly—earnestly,
“I love you.”
Your breath catches.
Dean smirks. “Took him long enough to admit it.”
Sam rolls his eyes but doesn’t look away from you. His hand finds yours, warm and solid.
“So,” he says. “Come home?”
You hesitate—only for a second.
Then you nod.
And just like that, everything is right again.

hi shelby! can i ask how you feel about the work you did for homestuck? if i’m not mistaken you drew for Calliope (and other art) and i was wondering if it was “fun but in the past” or more “in the past dont wanna talk about it”- your work inspired me a lot back in “the old days” lol (i has a diff tumblr and diff life) so i hope it does not cause u grief! i just dont see much mention of it on ur blog. have a good day~
i did all that work when i was in my late teens-early 20s in college and i am 32 now so i mostly just look back on it with some nostalgia and a healthy amount of "oh honey" about my younger self. i was a part of the small indie webcomics/livejournal fanfiction community before HS inexplicably blew up with multitudes of young teenagers in 2013 (and the story went off the rails...) and i got pulled on to work on it officially, so my experience with it is a little different and it definitely a time when i was finding myself as a young writer. i met a lot of awesome people along the way, and i learned a lot about myself and what im willing to put up with, let's just say that. i left the team because of creative differences and it kinda just is what it is. that was like 10 years ago at this point LOL i'm much happier now writing my own story about problematic aliens, syn7ropy, which has yet to be released publicly but if anyone is interested in beta reading we do have a small and chill discord server with links to all the drafts and WIPs and tons of art
i still do homestuck related commissions for people though because gotta get that cash. LMAO.

Supporting Momma(KatieMcCabeXCaitlinFoordXBabyReader)
Tumblr media
Summary: you and your Mommy support your Momma and aunties after a loss at the olympics.
Your Mommy was so proud of your momma. Cause she had qualified for the Olympics with her national Team, the Matildas. Maybe they were your future national Team as well. Altough that was still out in the Open. Cause ireland was still an option. The right one in your mommys opinion. But honestly they didn't even knew If you would like football. Cause right now you couldn't even walk yet. Your current Goal was to sit up by yourself for longer then just a few seconds.
Unfortunately the Olympic experience was cut short for the Matildas. But you were at the game. So you and your Mommy picked up the pieces afterwards.
"you did amazing Babe! You and the Girls fought so hard!" Your Mommy pulled your momma in for a hug who was crying. You made some noises and grabbed onto your momma. She happily held you close.
"thank you Babe!" Your momma told your mommy. "hey sweet girl." She added and looked at you. Kissing your head.
You cuddled up to her. Your momma already felt a bit better when you were in her arms. Harper & Harley also cuddled their moms. All three of your girls actually were held by all of your aunties on the Team to make them feel better. Which actually worked. Of course you little ones couldn't take away all the pain but at least you did make them feel a little less bad about this. Your momma doesn't know it yet but in the future you would win an Olympic Medal for her and your aunties. But that is a Long time coming.
The stadion was cleared at some point, your momma and your aunties freshly showered. Going back to the hotel. You and your Mommy joined them. All getting ready to grab some food together at a Restaurant and be supportive of one another. Picking eachother back up. Currently your auntie Steph had you in her arms. You had your face hiding in the crook of her neck. drooling slightly. So good thing your auntie had a Baby burp cloth over her shoulder.
"Babies and little kids have healing hugs. She already makes me feel less sad." Your auntie Steph told your auntie Macca.
"the little Tillies make everything better! Especially cause they don't fully understand what's happening when we lose. Like Harper and Harley told me there will be other games. You gonna win some and lose some." She said with a soft chuckle escaping her lips.
"Well that's how Kids think. So innocent and cute!" Your Momma replied while scooping you into her arms, which resulted in a slight protest from your auntie Steph.
"hey, i wasn't done with the Baby cuddles!" She said playfully.
"too bad, i get dibs on her, carried her for nine months so i won this! Maybe it's time for you to give y/n a Playmate, Steph!" Your momma replied just as playfully.
"glad you can joke around already! It's a good to hear!" Your Mommy answered and kissed your momma's cheek before kissing yours. Which made you smile from ear to ear.
"making the best out of the Situation." Your auntie Macca stated.
"also Babies make everything better!" Your Momma said and smiled softly.
"agreed! Especially our little Ray of sunshine. I mean look at that adorable smile." Your mommy answered and tickled your little feet which resulted in you letting out some adorable Happy noises, kicking your legs.
An hour later at the Restaurant everyone was talking about what was next and how they try to find the good things in what happened so they would come back stronger. Your momma didn't want to let go of you and held you the entire time, which you were really Happy about.
And a few days later everyone has moved on from the loss for the most part. It wasn't as painful anymore as It was when it had just happened.

You must be ovulating. That has to be your excuse.
And honestly, if you’re talking about everything, Jungkook should really invest in a bed for his dressing room— and you resolve to tell him once you’re no longer occupied with his heavy cock in your mouth, on your knees in his dimly lit assigned room.
His usually neat black hair sticks to his forehead, and his shirt clings to his chest, accentuating the muscles you've long since memorized. You try to ignore the flutter in your chest, but it’s impossible. His presence is magnetic—every movement, every breath, has a weight to it, a pull that you’ve fallen into over the past few months.
What started out as a normal night on BTS’ tour — with him being gone for most of the day rehearsing, you styling the boys’ hairs much to their dismay, and then eating a quick dinner in the back room before the show — has now quickly turned into one of your elaborate wet dreams with you on your knees between his legs, going down on him like it was your last night on earth.
It began on a warm weekend in May—because really, who wasn’t drawn to him? What had begun as a harmless crush had spiraled into something far more dangerous, something he had undoubtedly noticed. Not that he minded. In fact, he thrived on it, relishing every chance to tease you, to push just enough to watch you squirm. He fucking adored it.
But despite the strict no-dating policy for the boys, he had made one thing painfully clear—no matter how much fun he had toying with you, he wasn’t about to risk his stardom for it. For you.
And you were fine with that, as long as he gave you late nights and multiple orgasms.
You're not sure what compelled you to pull him in for a deep, breath-stealing kiss before sinking to your knees after finishing his hair. Maybe it was the way his fingers had teased along your inner thigh earlier in the day, leaving a trail of heat in their wake. Or maybe it was the way his biceps strained against the sleeves of his black t-shirt, taut and flexed, making it impossible to think about anything else.
Once the rest of his team had left the room, you had nearly mounted him, whispered in his ear, “How much time do we have?”
He had glanced up, meeting your eyes with a lazy grin. The faintest glint of amusement had sparked behind his eyes as he ran his fingers across your jawline. “15 minutes.”
That’s all you really needed.
Brain had gotten a little fuzzy when your fingers were tracing his collarbone, nearly tugging him in when your fingers caught on his chain.
Then, you leaned in tauntingly, brushing your lips against the shell of his ear, “Only gonna take two to make you finish.”
And that’s really all he needed to know.
All that to say - one thing led to another and you ended up sinking to your knees, his hand entangled in your hair, fingers pressing into your skull and you’re choking on his cock with your breasts hanging out the front of your bra and Jungkook’s head pressed into the couch as he struggles to keep his moans at an appropriate level.
He's close—you can tell by the way his breath turns ragged, each exhale more strained than the last. His left hand tightens in your hair, holding it back so he can see you clearly, his grip just shy of trembling. And then there’s the way he says your name—deeper, rougher, laced with restraint—like he’s on the edge of losing himself completely.
You double down, saliva dribbling down the side of your face as you push your mouth down onto it as far as you can handle, reaching another hand to jerk off the rest of his length your mouth can’t reach. The raw, guttural sound he lets out shoots straight through you, igniting something deep in your core. You moan softly in response, the vibrations traveling through him, unraveling him. His free hand clenches, then releases, struggling to find control—grappling with the restraint that’s slipping fast.
“Fuck, baby,” His eyes nearly roll back into his head when you make eye contact with him, truly a wreck. “So good for me.”
You remove your lips from his cock, your tongue running against the length of one of the veins that line him, and the stimulation alone has his whole body jolt forward. You have him right where you want him, like putty, like he’ll surrender his whole life for you. He’s been teetering on the edge since you started, and you’re determined to get him as close as possible. You wrap your lips around his tip, tongue swirling around it, saltiness of his pre-cum soaking your tastebuds.
You hum in pleasure. He moves more hair from around your face, “You are so pretty with my cock in your mouth. Shit!”
The compliments are nothing new to you. He showers you in them every time you bring him to the brink.
“Do you want to cum in my mouth?” You ask innocently, a string of saliva connecting his cock to your lips.
“Please,” His free hand drifts to your cheek, his touch gentle, reverent, as he gazes down at you with something dangerously close to adoration. His thumb strokes your skin, a silent plea, though he doesn’t say a word. He doesn’t have to.
Without breaking eye contact, without hesitation, you take him deeper, your lips stretching around him as you hollow your cheeks, sinking down inch by inch—slow, deliberate, watching as his breath stutters and his grip tightens in your hair.
And he’s really just a mess—hips bucking upwards, hands nearly shaking in your hair as he nearly combusts. But before he has a chance to fully finish, to let you bring him to an orgasm he so desperately needed, you remove your lips from his length with a pop. “Want you to fuck me, Kookie.”
Jungkook is pissed.
One second, he’s on the edge, drowning in the warmth of your mouth, his grip tightening in your hair as he chases his release—and then, just like that, you pull away, leaving him aching, throbbing, desperate.
His jaw clenches, chest rising and falling with uneven breaths as he stares down at you, dark eyes burning with something dangerous. And then, before you can react, he’s grabbing you—fingers wrapping around your arm, yanking you up with ease.
"You think you can just stop?" His voice is low, wrecked, but laced with something sharp, something deadly.
Your back barely hits the wall before he’s pressing against you, heat rolling off his body in waves.
"Turn around," he growls, voice thick with frustration, with need. And when you hesitate for just a second too long, his hands are on your waist, flipping you himself—bending you over, lifting your skirt up, pushing your light pink panties to the side, pinning you against the cold surface.
"You’re gonna finish what you started."
And he doesn’t hesitate. He’s smooth in his movements, like he always is, enough to confirm he’s in someone’s else’s bed when you’re not.
The second he has you where he wants—bent over, hands splayed against the wall, breath coming in uneven pants—he yanks your hips back, spreading you open for him. His grip is bruising, possessive, his frustration still thick in the air.
He knows you’re soaked, can see it dribbling down your inner thigh. Doesn’t have to do much to you. He smirks behind you, gives your ass cheek a little slap before he lines himself up at your entrance, cock splitting you in half as he fills you to the hilt.
A choked gasp rips from your throat at the sheer force of it, your fingers curling against the wall, legs nearly buckling. Behind you, Jungkook lets out an obscene groan, his head falling back, eyes screwing shut as he sinks all the way in, filling you.
The sound that escapes both of you is downright filthy—loud enough that, for a split second, you remember where you are. That the boys, the staff, other people are outside.
But Jungkook? He doesn’t give a fuck.
"Let ‘em hear," he rasps against your ear, voice thick with possession, rolling his hips slow, deep, just to watch you squirm. His hands tighten on your waist, his lips grazing your jaw before he snaps his hips forward again, sending you crashing against the wall with a whimper.
"You started this, baby," he growls, teeth sinking into your shoulder as he sets a brutal pace. "Now take it."
His words cause you to let out a whimper, walls tightening around him. The moment he feels you clench around him, your body gripping him like you never want to let go, a low, guttural groan rumbles from his chest. His fingers dig into your hips, nails nearly biting into your skin as he pounds into you, each thrust sending you forward, your palms bracing against the wall.
"Fuck—" His voice is wrecked, his breath hot against you. "You feel so tight— shit— you’re squeezing me so fucking good."
Your legs are trembling, your body barely able to hold itself up with how deep he’s hitting, how relentless he is. Your knees threaten to give out, but Jungkook doesn’t let you fall—his strong arms keeping you upright, keeping you exactly where he wants you.
"You can't even stand, huh?" he taunts, voice thick with cocky amusement, but there’s something almost wild in the way he groans right after, feeling your walls flutter around him. "So fucked out already? Thought you could handle me, baby."
You whimper, barely able to form words, and Jungkook feels it—how close you are, how your legs are shaking so bad you’re practically collapsing.
His hand snakes up your body, wrapping around your throat, tilting your head back just enough so his lips brush against your ear. "Say it," he breathes, voice dark, demanding. "Say how bad you needed this."
Your breath stutters, your vision blurring from the sheer pleasure. "I needed it—" you gasp, voice barely above a whisper. "I needed you so bad, Jungkook—"
Jungkook is so close. You can feel it in the way his thrusts grow rougher, more desperate—his breath ragged against your skin, his fingers digging into your hips like he’s holding on for dear life. His jaw clenches, a low, guttural groan slipping from his lips as he mutters a curse under his breath.
And then—suddenly—his grip tightens, and before you can even process it, he’s lifting you.
A gasp leaves your lips as he hoists you up effortlessly, turning you around to face him, your legs wrapping around his waist on instinct, arms tangling around his neck as he presses you hard against the nearest wall. His hands grip your ass, keeping you steady as he slams into you—deep, unrelenting, his pace nothing short of punishing.
"Fuck," he growls, burying his face in the crook of your neck, his teeth grazing your skin before his lips press against it. "You feel so good—"
Your head tilts back, pleasure crashing over you in waves as he takes what he needs, his body pressed flush against yours, his hold possessive. And the way he’s moving? Like he owns you. Like he never wants to let go.
Every thrust is brutal, his grip on your ass firm as he lifts you, sliding you up and down his cock like you weigh nothing. Your legs tighten around his waist, your arms clinging to his neck, nails digging into his shoulders as he slams you against the wall, taking you deeper, harder, faster.
"Fuck—" His voice is raw, rasping against your lips, his forehead pressed against yours as his pace turns desperate. "You feel so fucking good—so tight—"
You can barely think, barely breathe, the pleasure overwhelming, your body pulsing around him with every snap of his hips. Your moans spill freely, mingling with his ragged groans, the obscene sounds of skin slapping against skin filling the air.
"Jungkook—" His name falls from your lips in a broken gasp, and he groans, losing it at the way you tighten around him, your walls fluttering, your body so close to shattering completely.
"You gonna cum for me, baby?" he pants, his lips dragging along your jaw, his hands gripping your ass even tighter, slamming you down on him with each thrust. "Gonna make a mess all over me?"
Your legs tremble, your body clenching so hard it makes his rhythm falter. "So close—" you whimper, eyes squeezing shut, your head falling back against the wall.
Jungkook growls, his grip tightening, his thrusts turning sloppy, erratic. "Look at me," he demands, voice thick with desperation. His forehead presses against yours, his dark eyes burning into you. "Wanna watch you when you cum all over me."
The way he orders it—the rough, possessive way he demands your pleasure—sends you over the edge, a sharp cry breaking from your throat as you shatter in his arms. Your walls spasm around him, milking him for everything he’s worth, and Jungkook lets out a filthy groan, his fingers digging into your skin as he pounds into you a few more times before he’s gone, too.
With a deep, wrecked growl, he slams you against the wall, burying himself inside you, his entire body tensing as he finally releases, pleasure overtaking him completely.
Jungkook’s breath is still heavy, his chest rising and falling as he slowly comes back down from his high. His grip on you lingers for a moment longer before, with a deep exhale, he finally lets you down, carefully easing you back onto unsteady legs.
Your knees nearly give out the second your feet touch the ground, but his hands are still there—steadying you, keeping you upright just long enough for you to catch your breath. His lips curl into a knowing smirk as he watches you struggle to stand properly, amusement flickering in his dark eyes.
"Legs shaking already?" he murmurs, voice smug, teasing, as he steps back, reaching for his clothes.
You roll your eyes, still breathless, trying to gather what’s left of your composure. "It’s your fault," you mutter, watching as he tugs his shirt over his head, the muscles in his arms flexing with the movement.
Jungkook lets out a low chuckle, tossing his jeans back on before running a hand through his damp hair that you’ll probably need to fix. "Yeah?" He quirks a brow, pulling his lip between his teeth. "Guess I shouldn’t be surprised.”
“You’re right,” Your stomach flips at his words, heat creeping up your neck, but you refuse to give him the satisfaction of a reaction. “Really only took two to make you finish.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, I was in a hurry,” He scoffs, feigning nonchalance.
He presses a quick kiss to your cheek. It’s soft, fleeting, but it lingers just long enough to make your breath hitch. And as soon he does—he pulls away.
“Need you to fix my hair before I go on," he murmurs, voice low, teasing, before stepping back, slipping on his shoes, and heading for the door without another word.
You watch him go, heart still hammering in your chest, body still humming from the aftermath.
And just before he disappears out the door, he throws one last glance over his shoulder, his smirk downright sinful.
"See you in two, baby."

Before I end up making that post I want to talk about briefly with the release of IS5 again, the concept of each IS havin a fundamental theme of unreality to them. I really like this, because it feels like in a pretty unsubtle way a solid way to ground the structure of a roguelike setting into what is normally a pretty grounded storyline.
IS1, Ceobe's Fungimist (please Hypergryph let it return), is a hallucination caused be Ceobe eating weird forest mushrooms. Nothing that happens in IS1 is real, explicitly. However, IS1 is fundamentally drawing from something, and in Ceobe's case, it seems to be drawing from her memories of traveling abroad Terra looking for the origins of her axe (and food, of course). What are things Ceobe's remembers happening to her, what are hallucinations filing in the gaps, and what are Ceobe catching glimpses of fundamental truths of the world (the Black Procession and the Feranmut skeleton that is Maybe? Lifebone for instance) is left extremely vague. Characters such as the Frozen Monstrosity do seem to genuinely exist, but there was no Frozen Monstrosity in Lungmen. Was Ceobe using something she herself experienced in place of Frostnova, or is Ceobe hallucinating the entire thing regardless? Who knows. Ceobe probably doesn't have the answers for you.
IS2 has explicit themes of madness and deception, and although I do not find him a particularly compelling character or plot device, a playwright who can literally warp reality with his plays. Much of the stage design recycles echoes the stage design from IS1, almost as if the Troupe is welcoming you, the player, onto their stage. You aren't here to discern the truth behind the Troupe, you're here to save one man, and while you are able to peel back the curtains somewhat, you never really do learn what the Troupe is. There are puppets who come to life and whose music damages your souls, there are actors driven so fully into their roles that they end up traveling to Sami to carry out their destined end, there's a Troupe Leader whose defining imagery is puppets and strings, and yet, you're no closer to finding out how this all happened than you are trying to explain why the Knights' Duel node exists.
IS3 asks the question "What if time is like evolution?" and presents its unreality in the form of a sprawling, massive bundle of alternative timelines to your own. It feels almost impossible to line up most of the events and memory mappings and endings on top of each other, and even the endings seemingly branch off into several versions of themselves. While, for example, the Irene encounter maps onto her own memory mapping story, we never see the timeline involving Lumen's memory mapping in the game at all. There is no Seaborn version of Gladiia in-game for you to fight. This is made seemingly all the more uncanny by the fact that there is actually a canon timeline going on, and the implication through the Bosky event that you are only seeing these alternative timelines because curiosity got the better of you. You came into contact with technology alien and yet familiar, and as a result, your good little timeline where you just save a girl who tries to commit identity death turns into you having to watch from the third person a version of the world where you and Mizuki are potentially the only intelligent life left on Terra for all eternity.
(No seriously, this ending is fucked up, what the fuck.)
IS4, on the other hand, gives us a reality that is unraveling, so fragile and malleable that you can cause things to manifest out of sheer force of will, something there are explicit warnings about not doing. It's a land where the living become the shambling, almost mechanical dead, and the mechanical being living creatures. It's a world where the abyss looks back at you, and finds you to be worth destroying. Gravity isn't right, time isn't right, language isn't right, snow falls black and the dead rise once again to beckon you home. There's nightmares in the shadows, and they're eating away at everything.
Sorry shit I got dark there. IS5 is Nymph's happy little storytime where she explores future and alternative versions of Kazdel through the imagination of her and her compatriots. What if Theresis and Theresa worked together and Nasti completed her designs (and maybe committed a genocide????) and Kazdel was a flying utopia city? What if the Teekaz all walked in a different direction and became the Sankta, or all became the Anasa? You know, sometimes you lose your sense of reality and become dependent on the visions you see from the Revenants, sometimes you need a little bunny to pull you out, and sometimes those Revenants might have actually caused a new reality to exist but haha, don't worry about that.
What if, hahaha, just saying what if, there was a version of Amiya in a world where the Sarkaz barely exist, where she was given the crown by a dying Theresa with no guidance on how to use it ethically? Haha I mean, what if Kal'tsit wasn't around? What if, just theoretically, there was a version of Amiya for whom the most formative person in her life was the decaying mind of a man stuck as an AI program who kept his people alive for 10,000 years? What if, hehehehe you know, what if, there were special endings you got for each of the stories you told where you went onto fight her, showing up closing up those stories, those worlds, to eternally protect them until she can find the answer to all troubles? What if the Sarkaz prophecy from Chapter 7 kept coming up, over and over again, the prophecy of an Amiya who would melt millions of lives into memories over and over again? What if this was an Amiya so immediately dangerous that the Sankta version of Buldrokkas'tee doesn't hesitate in trying to kill her?
I mean that would be a really scary story if it was true. Really it's Nymph's special storytime with the revenants. Don't worry about it.
Anyways I love pretty much each of these takes (IS2 is definitely the weakest though) and it shows a lot of thought from the storywriters about how they wanted to integrate a roguelike mode into their game.

Doey x Player
First of all I don't really ship any of the x Poppy Angels ships. Cause frankly I'm asexual and I find I can't personally seperate myself enough from the player character yet. I wanted to make this cause I was seeing a lot of frankly cruel call out posts.
This is not pedophilia. Or disgusting.
The idea that Doey and the other toys don't age is a headcanon. To assume your headcanon is correct and then demonize others. Is put simply wrong. This isn't FNAF they aren't children souls. Their organs are literally taken out and placed into another body. The whole point is that they are 'living' toys.
You are fine to have that headcanon though. But you should not use it to attack others.
For Doey specifically I see people call out his mental breakdown at the end of the game. As evidence that he's 'still a child'. This however is not evidence. It is a mental breakdown from someone who has something almost similar to DID(obviously a more sci-fi version but the closest irl thing I can compare it too). In his breakdown he wasn't even making any sense. Repeating lines we've heard him say over the years. Crying out that he wants to go home.
These are all normal things that can happen in a mental breakdown. Actually learn about trauma triggers and read stuff about it. Doey regressing and just letting Kevin's anger take over is pretty normal for someone who just went through as much trauma as he did.
Besides this point though people say he talks like a child. And I really want to understand where. Throughout the story he seems very rational and reasonable. Even the brief moments that Kevin and what I assume Jack takes over.
Even Doey's last tape before the end of the game. He's scared there but seems like someone just trying to figure out what to do. Nothing about it made me think he's a child.
All this aside, I want to use this just for people to realize. The "they don't age" is a headcanon. They need to eat, sleep, etc. So why do you believe they don't age? This doubling down on this headcanon especially using his breakdown as evidence just seems ableist. Cause I've seen other people not even myself try to explain to others that using that evidence point is ableist.
I doubt this would change those in that echo Chambers mind. But for others that just never really thought about it. I hope this just makes you realize. Yeah either version is just a headcanon. And neither is Canon at the moment. What we do know for sure is that at least 10 years has passed since the hour of Joy. And Doey was made before that. Long enough to witness the guards making toys fight, to be through plenty of interviews, etc.
So by evidence of just time itself. He'd be like at the least 18-25(with the assumption Jack was 8 when he fell into the dough). And this is actually a low estimate cause it assumes that the hour of joy happens soon after he is created.
Stop calling people pedophiles over a headcanon and frankly pretty tame ship. Like ya'll scream about this one then turn around and praise the doctor one. When Doctor is clearly a sadistic childkilling monster. But you give that one a pass. Yet get upset at people when they want to date like the one person in the game that was genuinely kind and a protector.
Stop attacking other people over headcanons. You can debate them but pedophile should not be flung around at all.
Thank you for listening to my rant.

Meeting Belle
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes x Reader (Nicknamed Belle)
You've been best friends with Sarah since high school so when you go to take her boys to school and there's a man on her couch you don't know, you're a bit concerned
You had promised Sarah you’d take the boys to school. It was sprinkling rain and supposed to be like this most of the week. Luckily you didn’t have to be into work until nine so it worked out beautifully. You walked out of your place to your jeep and slid in. Her place was just around the corner from yours. Hers and Sam’s mom had been a god sent when you were younger. That woman had stepped in for you and your brother when your parents checked out. Your brother was living in Texas now but you were still right here home in Louisiana.
You pulled up to her place and jumped out of your jeep, slamming the door behind yourself. The doors on that thing wouldn’t close if you didn’t put a little force behind them. The boys loved it but Sarah would shake her head at them when they’d laugh because of you arguing with it  “Aunt Belle likes to act like she’s the beast at times boys”  Belle was a long lasting nickname from Sarah, way back from when the two of you were in high school. When you’d raised an eyebrow at her she’d simply tapped your book “Always reading and you’re so damn pretty. Plus she is your favorite princess” so Belle was called nowadays more than your actual name.
You tried the handle and it was unlocked so you walked in “Cass! Aj! Get a move on fellas!” you walked around into the living room where the boys were and instinctively shoved them both behind you when your eyes landed on a man you’d never seen before laying on the couch. He was gorgeous, yeah but the metal arm and you not knowing him meant your claimed nephews were going behind you.
He slowly stood up, hands held out in front of him “Easy doll. Ask the boys, they know me” you shook your head, keeping a hand on Cass and one on Aj. “SARAH! THERE’S A MAN IN YOUR HOUSE AND IT AINT SAM!” she walked around the corner laughing “Belle, you do have a way with words”
She observed the scene and nodded her head approvingly “Got to say, I love that you my boys enough to stand between them and a super soldier but he’s harmless well not harmless but is to us. This is Sam’s friend Bucky” your eyes flew back to the guy, studying him. His hair was shorter, new arm but yeah that was Bucky Barnes. Holy hell, leave it up to you to stand ten toes down against a one hundred and something year old super soldier who could literally snap you like a twig.
Sam came in the backdoor, having been summoned by you screaming and grinned “So you met Belle Bucky” “Belle?” Bucky looked towards you with a slight grin. Damn he really was gorgeous. Standing up where you could see him and know he wasn’t a threat to the boys meant you could fully appreciate the broad chest under that blue henley and those damn dogtags dangling along with how bright his blue eyes were when he smiled at you.
“Belle is a nickname the Wilsons tagged me with in highschool” you explained. Sam told Bucky your actual name then said “But she was always reading, didn’t want to give any of those losers in her high school the time of day and was pretty like Belle plus we have like three different halloweens worth of pictures from when we were younger where she dressed as Belle” you stuck your tongue out at him “Easy Samuel. Just cause you’re Captain America now, don’t get cocky. Me and Sarah can steal take you”
Sarah nodded “I already told him that” Bucky grinned “I like her already” you winked at him “Get to know me Barnes and you’ll love me in no time” and saw a light blush grace his cheeks. Talk about a damn confidence boost to start your day! You just made Bucky fucking Barnes blush!
You saw Sam shoot Bucky a look and weren’t sure what it was about but you cut your eyes at Sarah and she wiggled her eyebrows. You shook your head “Ok well boys now that aunt Belle made a fool of herself, let's get you to school before I’m late to work”
You turned to walk out and Bucky called your name. You turned around and he waved a hand towards where the boys were running towards your jeep “You didn’t know me, you got between your nephews and danger. Nothing to be embarrassed of” you grinned “I hope you stick around Bucky”
You headed down the doorsteps and could hear Sam cackle “Dude, you are as red as a tomato!” and heard Sarah scolding him. You couldn’t get the grin off your face the entire way of dropping the boys off and into work.
Tumblr media
You walked into Sarah’s house a few days later, juggling the bags of groceries she’d asked you to pick up. You tried helping her and the boys as much as you could, hell if you were being honest the only real home cooked meals you ate were ones you helped cook in her place. You always just grabbed a little something when left to your own devices.
You kicked the door open with your foot and when you started to walk in the bag nearly ripped but Bucky popped around the corner. Your eyes widened. “Where the hell did you come from?” he smiled “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you” as he scooped up all four bags easily and carried them towards the kitchen. You watched with a raised eyebrow and a grin “I mean, not complaining but I thought you left a few days ago”
He nodded “I did” then looked over his shoulder at you “I came back” you felt your face warm “Where is everyone?” he tilted his head towards the back door “The boys are playing, Sam’s jogging and Sarah was firing up the grill”
You laughed lightly “Oh yeah, you’re a Brooklyn boy. Have you ever had any good Louisiana cooking?”  he shook his head and you grinned “You’re in for a treat in that case” he watched you with a smile “I’m up for anything doll” you felt your stomach flip “That sounds promising” and saw a blush grace his cheeks.
You shook your head and grabbed his metal hand, considering it was closest to you. His eyes widened when you didn’t seem bothered and you grinned “What?” he shook his head “You’re something else Belle” you laughed lightly “Oh Bucky, you haven’t seen anything yet. Come on” and pulled him towards the door. “Me, cass and Aj always lure Sam into a water balloon fight. You in?” he laughed “As long as I’m on your team” you nodded “Of freaking course” and he laughed “Then I’m in darlin”

sister!reader distances herself from the triplets because her friends started teasing her about how close she is with them, the boys notice and talk to her about it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Drifting Away”
Sturniolos x sister
At first, the triplets thought Y/N was just busy.
She’d brush them off with a casual “I’ll hang out later” or “I have plans,” and they didn’t think much of it. But then “later” never came, and the plans were always with her friends. She stopped crashing their late-night car rides, ignored their texts in the family group chat, and barely even came downstairs unless it was to leave the house.
It wasn’t like her.
Chris was the first to crack.
“She’s literally avoiding us,” he muttered, pacing in their living room.
“She’s probably just caught up in whatever her friends are doing,” Matt reasoned, but even he didn’t sound convinced.
Nick leaned back against the couch with a sigh. “Yeah, but why? It’s not like she didn’t have friends before. Now, all of a sudden, she won’t even sit with us for five minutes?”
Chris groaned. “I’m about to go upstairs and drag her out of her room.”
Matt shook his head. “We just need to talk to her. She’ll tell us what’s up.”
Y/N was lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone when a knock on the door made her jump.
“Go away.”
Instead of listening, all three of her brothers walked in.
“Seriously?” she huffed, sitting up.
“Seriously,” Nick shot back, crossing his arms. “Are you gonna tell us why you’ve been avoiding us?”
She looked away. “I’m not avoiding you.”
Chris scoffed. “Dude, you barely even look at us anymore. If you don’t wanna hang out, fine, but at least tell us why.”
Y/N clenched her jaw, debating whether to say anything. She hated how guilty she felt. It wasn’t like she didn’t want to be around them—she missed them more than anything. But lately, every time she did, her friends had something to say.
“Why are you always with your brothers?”
“It’s weird, Y/N. Do you not have other people to hang out with?”
“They’re grown men. Why are you still up their asses?”
At first, she laughed it off. But then, she started thinking about it more.
Were they right?
Was she too attached to them?
She exhaled sharply. “My friends keep saying it’s weird how close I am with you guys.”
Silence.
Then—
Chris blinked. “Are they stupid?”
“Chris,” Matt sighed, but Y/N could tell he was irritated too.
Nick shook his head. “Wait, so that’s why you’ve been pushing us away?”
Y/N shrugged, suddenly feeling embarrassed. “They just… they make jokes about it all the time, and I started thinking maybe they had a point.”
“Y/N,” Matt said, his voice softer now, we’re your brothers. You’re supposed to be close to us.”
Chris scoffed. “Yeah, tell your friends to go touch some grass.”
Nick nudged her knee. “Look, if they don’t get it, that’s on them. But you shouldn’t have to act different just to make them shut up.”
Y/N bit her lip. She knew they were right. She missed them. It sucked keeping her distance just to avoid dumb comments.
“…I’m sorry,” she muttered.
Chris rolled his eyes before tackling her into a hug. “You’re an idiot.”
She let out a small laugh, shoving him. “Thanks, Chris.”
Nick smirked. “So, are you done being weird now? Can we go get food or something?”
Y/N hesitated for half a second before nodding. “Yeah. I miss you guys.”
Matt ruffled her hair. “Good, ‘cause we missed you too.”
And just like that, everything felt right again.

Never been loved.
Pairing: Mattheo Riddle x Slytherin!female Reader Tags: Angst, Angst, Angst
Prompt: "You've never been loved, I can tell."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It would have been a beautiful spring day in the courtyard of hogwarts. But standing before Mattheo—you knew this was possibly a turning point about to happen. Your best friend. Having built that trusting relationship with him was hard. On both sides. But you stuck together and knew each other well.
But now the tension between you and Mattheo is thick, like a storm ready to break. You can feel it in the air, the unspoken words that hang between you both, electrifying the space. And yet, the weight of it all crashes down with the finality of your words, words that you didn't even realize held so much truth. "You've never been loved, I can tell." You don’t know why you said it, why the words slipped from your lips like a confession, an accusation. But the moment they leave your mouth, they settle over him like a shadow, dark and unavoidable.
You watch him, frozen, as his gaze falters, as if a part of him dies with your words. His shoulders drop, and for the briefest moment, he looks almost… human. Vulnerable. The walls he so carefully constructed around himself seem to crack, and for the first time, you see the weight he’s been carrying—the one he’s never let anyone see.
But Mattheo doesn’t speak. Not right away. His lips tremble, just slightly, as if the words he wants to say are too much to bear. His breathing is shallow, uneven. It’s a quiet sort of pain, the kind that threatens to swallow him whole, but he refuses to let it. “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” he mutters, the harshness in his voice an attempt to mask the tremor you caught. His jaw clenches, his eyes narrow, but they can’t hide the flicker of something deep within them.
You wish you could take back the words, erase the hurt you’ve caused him, but you can't. The damage has been done, and now all you can do is watch him retreat behind that mask again.
“You don’t know me,” he snaps, cutting your thoughts off. The rawness in his tone pulls at your chest, makes your heart ache for him in a way you hadn’t expected. He’s breaking, but he won’t let you see it. His walls go back up, taller and colder than before, as he presses his lips together, trying to maintain control.
“You don’t know my name,” he continues, but it’s not the name he’s referring to. It’s something deeper, something that has been built over years of pressure, expectations, and burdens no one should ever bear.
You reach for him, words forming on your tongue, but they choke you as he takes a step back. The tears that threaten to spill seem to freeze in your throat. You want to apologize, to explain yourself, but the words are too heavy, the apology too fragile.
He shakes his head then, and you feel the weight of his emotions like a physical blow. “No,” he says, voice cracking. “You don’t have the right to talk about me. Talk about love. You don’t know anything about me.” His voice raises, and you flinch, a tiny part of you bracing for the anger that you know is coming. But then—then his eyes soften, and a single tear escapes, rolling down his cheek, tracing the path of all the years of grief he’s kept locked away.
The world tilts as you see that tear. It shatters everything you thought you knew about him. The bravado, the indifference—it all crumbles. He’s not invincible. He’s not the cold, untouchable boy he’s shown everyone.
You want to reach out, to take his face in your hands and promise him that it doesn’t have to be like this, but the fear that grips you—fear of what he’ll do, of what this moment will mean—paralyzes you.
When he speaks again, his voice is low, but it cuts through you like a knife. “I think it’s best if we part ways from now on.” The words hang in the air, and for a moment, everything goes still. The wind dies, the distant sounds of the castle fade. His voice is the only thing that matters now.
Before you can process what’s happening, he’s turning away from you, walking toward the castle with a speed that leaves you breathless, leaves you empty. You stand there, a hollow ache settling in your chest.
Your feet move before your mind catches up, and you grab his arm, forcing him to stop. “Mattheo, no—don’t say that.” But he doesn’t even look at you. His body stiffens, his hand brushes yours off as if it’s a weight he can’t bear.
“I’m only saying what you would expect of me. Your image of me is quite apparent. Since you know me so well.” His words are cruel, but they are truth. And it cuts deeper than anything he’s said before. You step back, your heart sinking with the realization that he’s right.
With one last glance over his shoulder, he’s gone, leaving you standing in the shadows of the evening, alone.
Days pass. You bury yourself in your studies, pretending like it doesn’t matter. You let the ache settle in your bones, telling yourself that you’re stronger than this, that you’re better off without him. But every time you close your eyes, you see him—his face, the way his eyes softened for the briefest moment before he pulled away from you, the tear that marked the end of everything.
Pansy finds you in the library, but even she can see the storm brewing inside you. She drags you out, forces you to confront what you’ve done, and somehow, you find yourself standing at the threshold of the common room, looking at Mattheo across the room.
You stand frozen at the entrance to the common room, your breath shallow, heart pounding. The noise around you seems to fade into a dull hum as you lock eyes with Mattheo. He’s sitting there, looking as casual as ever, but there’s something in his gaze that stops you cold—something colder than you’ve ever seen before. It’s like he’s trying to shut himself off from you, a wall rising in the space between you that feels miles wide.
Pansy’s grip on your sleeve is the only thing keeping you tethered to the present, but even her silent pressure on your arm doesn’t make your feet move. She knows what’s going on in your head, even if you’re too caught up in the chaos to say it.
Mattheo’s face remains unreadable as his eyes flicker between the fireplace and the others in the room, but the tension in the air is thick. You can’t tell if he’s angry, hurt, or simply indifferent—but the chill in his expression tells you enough. It’s the same kind of look he’s given you every time you’ve pulled away, each time you’ve said something wrong, like you’ve been a weight dragging him down.
“I think I should go,” you mutter to Pansy, your voice barely louder than a whisper. You can feel your hands trembling, the nervousness creeping up your spine.
Pansy doesn’t let go of your sleeve. Instead, she gently pulls you forward, her usual playful tone gone, replaced with a sharp, no-nonsense edge. “No. You’re not running away this time. Not from this.”
Your throat tightens, and for a moment, you feel like you might suffocate under the weight of it all—the fight, the guilt, the fear that he’ll never forgive you. But Pansy is already moving, leading you towards the fire where the others are seated. The firelight flickers in your eyes as you step forward, your body feeling heavy, like you’re walking through quicksand.
Mattheo doesn’t look up right away, but when he does, you feel the full force of his gaze. He doesn’t say anything, doesn’t ask you how you’re doing or what you’ve been up to. It’s like the space between you has grown into something vast and impenetrable, and no words can bridge that gap. You wonder if that’s what you deserve after what you said, after what you did.
“You don’t have to do this,” Pansy says softly, but there’s a firmness beneath her words. “But if you don’t, you’ll never know if things could be fixed.”
You can’t breathe for a moment. Everything in you screams to just leave, to hide away again, but you know she’s right. You’ve never been good at facing what you’ve done. But if you leave now, you might lose him forever. And you can’t do that.
You stop in front of Mattheo, the words stuck in your throat. For a long moment, you don’t know where to start. It feels like you’ve already said everything you could say, yet nothing at all. But it’s different now. You’re standing here, staring at him, and for the first time in a long time, you’re not running.
"Can we- talk?" You don't hear your own words as you speak and hold your breath while you wait, still contemplating if you could make a run for it—but Pansy is right. Mattheo doesn't spare you a glance as he simply stands up and walks past you, toward a secluded corner in the common room, two armchairs next to each other, a dim lit candle and tall bookshelves rising to the ceiling. You join him as he sits, fiddling with my robe until you take a deep breath, finally looking up at him.
“I—I’m sorry.” The words feel like they’ve been stuck in your chest for so long. You swallow hard, voice cracking slightly. “I never meant to hurt you.”
He stares at you in silence, his jaw tightening, but there’s something there now—a flicker of recognition in his eyes, something that tells you he’s listening. Not because he has to, but because he wants to. You don’t know if that’s a good thing, but it’s a start.
“I know I fucked up. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I—” You pause, unsure of what to say next, your chest tightening with the weight of all the things you should have said before. “I care about you, Mattheo. More than I’ve ever cared about anyone.”
He doesn’t speak for a long while, and for a moment, it feels like the world has frozen around you both. But then, slowly, his lips part. His voice is low, almost like it’s coming from somewhere deep inside him, a place he’s been hiding for too long.
“You don’t have to keep apologizing.” His gaze is soft, almost vulnerable, and it shakes you to your core. “You don’t have to say anything you think I want to hear.”
“Then what do you want to hear?” you ask, almost desperately. “Because I don’t know how to fix this.”
“You don’t have to fix it. Just… be here. With me. No more walls.”
Your heart beats faster at his words. It’s not perfect, it’s not the answer you hoped for, but it’s something. Something you can work with.
And when he stands, taking a small step toward you, you feel the knot in your chest loosen just a little bit, so you stand as well. His arms, warm and familiar, slide around your shoulders, and for the first time in what feels like forever, you don’t feel so alone.
“Let’s not do this again,” he murmurs against your hair, pulling you close as you clutch his dress shirt, shutting your eyes tightly.
And you nod, knowing that no matter how long it takes, you’ll keep trying. You’ll keep showing up, even when the storm inside you feels too strong to bear.
For him. For you.
For what you both deserve.

Too Late (Azriel x Reader) Part 3
Part 1 , Part 2
Azriel and Y/N finally talk, and she realizes that maybe the feelings weren't one sided after all these years. Is it too late?
You tried to grow used to the life at the house of wind, but you could feel the awkward silence fill up every room you entered. Feyre was friendly, but you could tell she didn’t agree with what you had done. You spent a lot of time with Cassian, who was the only one who would really talk to you, Azriel hadn’t spoken to you since that night.
“Hey Cas,” You peered up at him, you both stretching on the mats outside. “Could you…” You weren’t sure how to form the question, “Where is it?”
He froze; his face unreadable. You tried to use your gift, to see what he was feeling, but you couldn’t seem to reach him.
“I think it will help me.” You whisper, “I want to help you, I want to be this secret weapon you need me to be but I can’t without any power, you must see that.”
Cassian nodded, moving one arm across his chest as he stretched. “It’s by the river, I can fly you down there but…I don’t have good memories, I don’t want to stay.”
You nodded, leaning back on your hands and staring at the bright sky, sun causing you to squint.
“I’m sorry about Azriel.” Cassian started, and as you went to reply he held his hand up to stop you. “Azriel- I shouldn’t tell you this but I feel like you should know. Azriel went crazy when you died, or didn’t die, or whatever.”
You held your breath as he spoke, feeling the guilt rise in your chest. “When we found him after the battle, he was covered in blood. I think he had gone through every body in that field looking for you, he was…it was horrible.” Cassian sighed, pulling his knees up and wrapping his arms loosely around them. “He stayed for days, he didn’t sleep, he didn’t eat, we had to drug him to get him to leave, and he almost killed us when he woke up.”
“I’m so sorry.” You whispered, grabbing his hand and squeezing it. “I wanted to come back, but…I was useless. I had grown too attached to Azriel- and when…I tried to tell him how I felt and he made it very obvious he did not feel the same way. Then that on top of me losing my powers, I just didn’t see a point.”
“What do you mean?” Cassian asked, and you sighed.
“Before the battle, I tried to tell him that….that I loved him, but I wasn’t brave enough. Before I lost my gift I could feel emotion and I could feel nothing from him, just my own.”
Cassian nodded slowly, looking around the empty training yard. “I’m sorry about yelling at you, by the way.” You squeezed his hand again and he gave you a sad smile.
               He nodded, “It’s okay.”
He dropped you off by the river, pointing in the general direction of where your destination was. You walked, admiring the rush of water with the mountains surrounding you. You trecked along the cobblestone until you found a narrow path, following it until you came up to a stone secured into the ground.
You squatted down, examining it closely, tracing the carved words in the stone.
‘Beloved Y/N
The light in the darkness,
I will carry you with me, always,
My heart will never let you go
Until the stars call me home’
You gazed at the words, the emotions in your chase rising like a wave, impossible to control. You slowly sat on the ground, your eyes falling to the flowers beside you, placed there only days ago. Your eyes drifted to the view of the city and the river flowing through it, the stones from the bridge reflecting the sunlight in almost a blinding twinkle.
You couldn’t help the thoughts of what life could have been- if you had told Azriel the truth, if you hadn’t run away, or even if you had died. The version of you that died deserved this headstone, deserved the beautiful words and beautiful flowers, but the person you had become- the one sitting here- didn’t deserve it.
You sat in silence, the only sounds the occasional pattering of footsteps or the splash of a fish jumping from the water.
“Every starfall, I only had one wish.” Azriel’s voice cut through the silence, and your head whipped behind you to see him standing, hands in his pockets. He made a motion with his hands, like a falling star. “Every year, I had the same wish. I would stand outside and look up at those stars and just wish so hard.”
“What would you wish for?” You whispered, and Azriel turned to look at you, his eyes almost gentle.
“Can I sit?” He asked, and you nodded, scooting over. “How do you like it?”
He nodded towards the grave, and you gave him a tight smile, looking back over the light gray stone. “Honestly, it’s beautiful and more than I deserve.” You waited a couple seconds, “Az, I’m…I’m  so sorry.”
“I didn’t understand at first.” Azriel whispered, looking out at the river. “The first thing I felt when I saw you- of course it was relief, but then it was betrayal. I couldn’t believe that you would put me through all of that.”
“I- I didn’t really think it would be that hard.” You whispered, pulling your legs up to your chest. “It was war.”
“It wasn’t just a war, we weren’t just part of the war.” Azriel turned towards you, and for the first time, his eyes weren’t guarded. “And I was so mad, when I saw you, the anger I felt is like something I have never felt before.”
“Then once I was finished yelling at you, I came out here.” Azriel sighed, “After sitting here for a couple hours, I thought about blasting this thing to the ground, to be honest. But, I realized, the reason I was so upset when I thought you were gone-“
Azriel stopped, looking away. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest. He looked at you, the pain of loss still fresh on his face despite the decades that had passed.
“The reason…The reason I was so upset was because I was never brave enough to tell you how I felt, hell, I never even got to say goodbye.” Azriel pulled his arm away to run through his hair again, and you moved your hand back to your knee. “I had the perfect opportunity, we were both there, but….I didn’t know if someone like you could ever love someone like me.”
Your heart froze and possibly skipped a beat as you processed his words, you stared at the river and felt the relief flow through you. “I know it’s been decades, but…I still thought about you every day, I thought the pain of losing you would kill me.”
“You…loved me?” You whispered, turning to him. His face, for the first time, was free of his grim expression and his eyes shone with vulnerability.
“I’m not going to make the mistake of not telling you how I feel a second time, Y/N.” Azriel whispered, “I spent 140 Starfalls wishing I could just tell you that.”
Tears filled your eyes as you stared forward, memories coming back to you in a rush. The way Azriel ran to you in the war, the words on his lips, ‘I love you’. The pain in your chest that never went away, that was him, that was his pain.
“Azriel-“You choked, turning towards him and wrapping your arms around him. He took a moment to return to hug, but quickly wrapped his arms around you, breathing in deeply.  The pain was finally gone, free from your chest, and you let out a short laugh.
He pulled back, unsure. “Before the battle started, I wanted to tell you that I loved you, but I wasn’t brave enough.” You cried, laughing at your own stupidity. “I thought you couldn’t feel anything because I couldn’t feel anything from you!”
“How could you think that?” Azriel grabbed your face in between his hands, the rough skin gently touching your cheeks. “Y/N- you can read emotions; I assumed that you were reading mine and choosing not to reciprocate.”
You cried harder, pulling him back into a hug. “I thought those were my emotions; I thought my powers were gone when you were nearby. Azriel- I was so in love with you, I am so in love with you.”
You realized, that every time you felt the overwhelming and all consumer feeling of love for Azriel, it wasn’t just your love for Azriel, but his love in return. All the pain, the constant ache in your chest, that was yours to share over the years as well. Your powers were never gone- they were just so connected to Azriel that it overpowered everything else.
“You are the light in my darkness.” Azriel whispered, pulling a piece of hair from your face and tucking it behind your ear. “I will carry you with me, always, because my heart will not let you go.” He pulled your hand to his chest, so you could feel the thuds underneath.
“Until the stars call me home.” You whispered the final line. He leaned in, his mouth brushing yours tenderly. As you felt his lips on yours, his warm breath on your bottom lip, you pressed into him harder, placing your hand on the nape of his neck and trying to pull him closer to you.
He pressed into you, lifting you easily and placing you on your back in the grass. You gasped, laughing as you looked up at him. A true smile found his face as he stared at you, and he pressed one hand to your cheek. “I am never letting you go again.”
