Thoughts & Reactions to Sole Crusher & Queen Banana!

Here's my 2 in 1! Starting with Sole Crusher. Loved the tourist feel in the beginning, gives it a very different feel and interesting to see it from Zoe's perspective. Aww Zoe's so nice to Marinette right away. And it's awfully sad that she only ever had one friend. :c I wonder who that friend is? Zoe's right about her family not appreciating the baked goods from the Dupain-Cheng bakery. I don't know if she's fully aware of the history there, or if she just knows how picky her mother and sister are. But it was awfully sweet of her to give them to the tour guide to give to her family instead. So Zoe learned: in order to survive, she had to put on an act and be somebody she's not, because her family wouldn't accept her being a decent person that cares about others. When asked about her middle school, her response, "I found a cockroach in my locker!" Might not be true, doesn't sound like it's the only thing at all if so, but sadly it was enough for her mom to not question anything.

Chloe's definitely a lot worse now after Miracle Queen. In my opinion, this is us beginning to see how low she's gotten and will continue to get. As Avatar Aang once said, "When we reach our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change." I'll write more on this in a separate post later. Zoe's sure scared to object to anything and be herself. Not even hesitating to act like a brat when around Chloe. If she didn't end up growing up around Chloe, how horrible are her parents??? We know Audrey is pretty bad, but even then if she had a decent dad she'd likely not end up like this. I suppose we'll have to see, but this poor girl. :/ Rose: Can we adopt her? Lol awww. Wonderful of Marinette to know that after only one brief encounter with Zoe, she knows that the Zoe at school isn't really her, and wants to genuinely help. How can anybody hate that about her? I don't get it. If it's because she doesn't do things how you'd like them...Most things in life won't go as you want them, or be taken by others as you may intend them, so you have to appreciate what's there and the intent of others actions. "But my family made me think that to deserve my place, I had to give up on some of my dreams." If Andre's talking about his parents here, as he said "When I was young", then oof this poor man, no wonder he's so timid and such a pushover. If he's referring to Audrey and Chloe... then that's a huge oof because Audrey knew exactly who she was marrying and should've never ended up with him in the first place if she didn't want to be with a director. So Zoe left because she couldn't stand it in New York anymore around her dad and the kids at her school. She hoped that she wouldn't have to act anymore and could just be herself. It really sounds like she needed to act a certain way in order to survive getting bullied, or worse. Dang, she really must not have met Chloe before then, or heard anything about her if she thought living with her mom and sister would be better. But in a way, it is better for her, because she has Marinette and the kids at school now. And she has Andre who's probably a better parent to her than her actual parents. Which is surprising and also not at the same time. "We end up hiding our feelings deep down in here." Okay so he says that with a booklet that has Emilie's face on it held up to his chest. Now, it may just be nothing but him thinking about his director dream. But. It could've also been any other object he held to his heart, it could've been something without a face on it or at least not her face. And Andre did work with Emilie. So I would not be surprised at all if there was something there that this is hinting at. Hmmmm. Also, I guess that's not Tomoe Tsurugi? Even though it's Kagami's model they used. And she's really pretty, too! Maybe something will come from this, or the animators didn't think it through when they added that image. Who knows. Even Chloe's first thought when she's in trouble is to go to Marinette what the heck 😂 When Kaalki teleported into Adrien's room...had Adrien turned around as it

happened he would've seen enough of her room to recognize it. Instead the portal changed and was outdoors. But lol poor Kaalki slamming against the window! All his things getting sucked in and Plagg's cheese was hilarious. XD Chloe's second thought of where to go: Luka's. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. 🤔 "This winner and loser thing doesn't exist!" Sad that Chloe thinks this way at all, who even taught her this? x.x Chat Noir: Did somebody start off on the wrong foot today? Marinette: I'm not finished! Chat Noir: Huh? LOL I laughed so hard at this moment. Did she forget who she is at the moment because even Chat's like what "I will always support you!" AWWWWWW what a good friend! And I think by helping Zoe become stronger, she'll in turn help Chloe be a better person too. But I'll talk about this again later. Poor Sabrina in this episode, my goodness. She works in a tiny closet and has to run along the limo. Chloe's seriously getting awful. Zoe's charm is the cutest one so far! So pretty. Ivan giving Zoe a hug was the cutest thing ever. Like, I don't ship them, but this shouldn't have anything to do with it. He and the rest of the kids care about her and respect her for being open and honest with her struggles, and want to be there for her. It's so wholesome. 😭 I find it interesting that even Audrey in this episode doesn't always know how to react to Chloe. xD But thank you Andre for caring enough about her to keep her in Paris and trying to keep some peace between the two. "For the first time in my life, I feel at home." 😭😭😭😭😭 Just imagine for a minute if Marinette didn't bother to help Zoe, believed how she acted at school rather than when she met her, and didn't tell the other kids about what was going on. Everything for her would be so drastically different. All because Marinette showed some kindness. Now onto Queen Banana. Well poor Marinette can't help but faceplant on the news. xD I can just tell what Alya leaned into say "You okay, girl?" and Marinette mumbling under the cape, "that's what the news is going to see of me, aren't they?" "Afraid so." "groan" Ah okay, Thomas was an alumni of the school. Cool. Poor Andre, he's just doing what Zoe suggested of him and not give up his dream of directing! I wonder if being around Luka and Juleka made Zoe want to put that pink streak in her hair. xD I want Luka and Zoe to be really good friends, that'd be so cool. Chloe being really awful some more. To everybody. I've noticed a pattern and I think I have her figured out pretty well. I'll be writing a in-depth post about her soon! She's making them change the entire movie just for her. xPP I said to my sister, "as soon as she leaves they should just film their original ideas." They do, thank goodness. xD I got so happy that we get an Adrienette scene in this ep! And then I saw he's locked in a cage, willingly, smiling at Marinette while the door shuts and I just burst out laughing. He's not even nervous he's locked in a cage, suspended in the air! Booooooy must like Marinette a lot! "Now let's take care of Adrien and get him out of that cage." OMG thank you, Marinette. While the image of him is comical, it's making me so uncomfortable that someone's up there like that and that someone also being terrified of being locked up in such a small space. Also, how long do you think Adrien would've stayed up there had Marinette not said something? Oh? What a change of pace, when Adrien goes to try to make things better for everyone, he screws it up pretty badly to be what really drives Chloe to get akumatized. She may have cooled off enough on her own as she tells Adrien "I'm fine." ...until he suggests apologizing to everyone. "You promised to stop being rude to everyone. And I told you that we couldn't be friends otherwise." OOF. Okay so her reaction to this really goes into the territory I want to talk about in my upcoming post about Chloe. "Banana BOOM BOOM!" lololol it sounds so funny in German dub xDD Marinette instantly pulling Zoe away from the attack x33 Ladybug's spin move with Chat Noir XD

it's like what's happening we're fighting an akuma not dancing This entire akuma feels like a Donkey Kong game and I love it. Those games are my childhood. Ooof Ladybug needs to be more careful with her Lucky Charms, they can sometimes be massive! Like that giant doughnut in Weredad. I seriously legit thought that the Gorilla was Gorilla, Adrien's bodyguard before the episode aired. XD The best heroes in this show tend to be the ones that have the most self-doubt, have you noticed? Ladybug, Carapace, and Vesperia all expressed serious doubt in themselves being a superhero, but when they suit up they're fierce! Like they were born to be a hero. Don't worry about Chat kissing Vesperia's hand. That's just the way he is, it's not in a flirting way. c: I remember when people freaked out about Rena Rouge and Chat Noir. It's the same as that, nothing more. "Or I'll turn her into baby mush!" LOL Chloe threatening to turn Ladybug into baby food hahaha that sounds so outrageous and weird that it's funny. And yet in this situation, would be actually possible so it's quite disturbing....hm. Dang, Hawk Moth trying to reakumatize her immediately. You go Zoe, speak up for yourself! And good on Andre for putting his foot down about Zoe too. "You may hate me, but I love you. And I'll always love you even if the whole world hates you." OKAY, THAT WAS REALLY BEAUTIFUL. Including the way she convinced Chloe to take the charm. Marinette's literally in hearing range of Adrien as she's talking to Tikki LOL she's like 5-6 feet away maybe? But that's okay, he probably would think nothing of it if he heard Marinette talking lol. I really like Zoe's character, I think she makes a wonderful addition to the show and that her character is extremely important. ;) Again I'll talk about it in my upcoming post! I've really noticed a lot of things when it comes to Chloe that I look forward to sharing my thoughts on sometime early this week. I really don't think things are as clear cut as a lot of people seem to think about her.

Me: Haaii everyone~~ I’m mod PB and this is my new fanfiction project. I’m superduper excited to show you all lol X33 no flames/dont like dont read, ok? kthx baiiii!! <3

I’m an absolutely ordinary boy, but, I guess in some ways I’m not. I’m the best pilot of my generation – or at least I was. I have pale skin, like smooth ivory and ebony hair that gracefully cascades down to my strong, broad shoulders. I have a grecian shaped nose, and large violet eyes with long dark lashes and a sharp jawline. My outfit it pretty boring: a tight, black V-neck t-shirt that highlights my well worked out arms. I wear black jeans that cling to my legs and highlight my slender and manly physique. I sigh as I stare at myself in the mirror. I really do look utterly ordinary and boring. My looks are in no way to attractive to anyone, especially the one I like… Anyways, were was I? My hobbies include throwing knives, training for hours a day and, well, I can’t believe I’m telling you this…But my favourite passion is to dance. Ever since I left the Garrison I felt lost, I had nowhere else to turn. I had lost everything and everyone I cared about. I had no passion for anything left. Except, one day I was listening to the radio and I was on the K-Pop and J-Pop station and suddenly my life changed. Every day I would learn the songs, let myself be swayed by the beat and I learned how to dance. I managed to get access to YouTube where I learned all the best dance moves and I can now dance like a professional in over 5 types of dancing including Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Modern and Irish dancing– don’t ask about the last one. I love dancing, even more than flying and it’s all I ever wanted to do with my life. But, now I’m no longer on Earth. I’m stuck on the castleship with the rest of Team Voltron where no one knows my secret passion for dance, even Shiro, my 兄.

{ me: 兄 means big brother in japanese!!! xD keith: PB!! Stick to the storyy D< me: ooops sorry!! lol }

I just wish that I could tell people my dream, but I know I could be scorned for it. No one would accept me for who I truly am – a dancer.

But, what would everyone think? Would Hunk turn away in embarrassment and shame? Would Pidge glare at me with her fiery hazel gaze? Would Allura and Coran and look upon me with disgust? What would Shiro do, would he wish that he never had me as a little brother figure…would he regret everything that lead up to meeting me, to changing my life?(Slav probably already knows anyway). But the one person I’m most concerned about is Lance. What would he think?

Ah, Lance. Every time I think about him my cheeks get all blushy and I get embarrassed. He’s graceful, breathtaking, the most kawaii guy I’ve ever met but…oh how do I tell him? He’d just laugh at him. He’d never fall for anyone who looked so boring and lame as me. Ugh, I’m such a BAKA for thinking like this! I’m sure if I tell him, he will return this feeling.

Homestuck Liveblog #173

UPDATE 173: Secondary Characters Continue Fusing Together

Last time Vriska was starting her plan to fight Lord English. First things first: she needs a ghost army to back her up. The problem here is that just with her skills it won’t be enough. Luckily for her, she just...stumbled upon a ghost army in the distance. Let’s see how that goes.

Huh. Tavros was the one to reunite them – and I suppose that also means he managed to convince them all to stick together for the fight. That’s rather impressive, considering how Tavros started being meek and with lack of confidence about himself. If only that hadn’t meant twisting his personality in the ways it was twisted...I had liked Tavros at the beginning of his appearances in the story, but when he started wanting to be like Vriska he, well, he succeeded in getting some of the bad traits she has. It’s not pleasant to watch, to be frank.

Vriska is in disbelief at what she’s seeing. Tavros, of all people, is giving a solution to her problems? The baconbeasts must have sprouted wings and are now flying. Vriska is having a lot of trouble reconciling the thought of Tavros doing anything good for her plans.

VRISKA: What sort of hideous fuckwitted 8aloney drivel are you spouting out your prattle socket this time? TAVROS: wHAT i MEAN IS, TAVROS: i *CONVINCED* THEM ALL TO JOIN ME, vRISKA, TAVROS: uSING WORDS, TAVROS: aND SMILES, TAVROS: aND FRIENDSHIP, }:D

Really now? Somehow that sounds more believable for the past Tavros, not for the current one – leaving aside that the past Tavros would have never been able to convince them, what with not being assertive enough.

Hah! There’s something very amusing in seeing Vriska trying to wrap her head around this. I admit that if I didn’t have the image right here, I’d have a hard time believing it, too.

VRISKA: You actually did something useful for once. TAVROS: }:D!!! VRISKA: I don't know how I'm even supposed to process or handle this inform8tion... VRISKA: It's... it's completely messed up, is what it is. VRISKA: My entire world view is shattering around me... VRISKA: It can't 8e true. VRISKA: It can't!

Well don’t complain, Vriska, this is actually very good. There won’t be need to do anything else, you could jump straight to fighting Lord English. I...I doubt the ghost army will last for long, given Lord English’s attacks, but I’m sure Vriska has a plan for them.

Tavros is more than willing to brag about this all – and I can’t blame him, this is a great achievement – but then he ruins my sympathy by pretty much turning insufferable in three seconds flat. Also:

TAVROS: oOOOOH, iT FEELS SO GOOD, tO DO A CONCLUSIVE THING, tHAT ABSOLUTELY AND BEYOND ALL QUESTION, rETROACTIVELY VINDICATES ME AS A PERSON AND ERASES ALL OF MY FLAWS!!!

I made the most unamused and exasperated face you can imagine. Congratulations, Tavros. You achieved it with that single line, you’re closer than ever to be like Vriska. Keep going and we’ll have one Vriska more than we need. It sucks.

I don’t think Tavros’ arc can go any further than this, thank goodness. There’s only so much ‘shut up, Tavros’ I can mutter right now. There are five pages dedicated to him bragging obnoxiously until Vriska stops him. So who’s going to lead this army? No one is in charge right now, so Meenah hears the call of her royal blood and challenges Tavros to a fight for the leadership of the army. He...he pretty much rolls over and lets her have it, because he wasn’t really interested on leading anything. That’s good enough.

He’s even prostrating himself to her feet, which she simply loves. Hah! She even steps on his horns to have high ground to talk to the army. Someone is having fun already. The speech she gives to the army is not too bad, it’s self-aggrandizing and completely in-character for Meenah. I like Meenah, she may be awful, difficult and cause a water apocalypse to Earth, but I find her fun to read.

Recycling this meter because they’re pretty much the same person despite being different iterations.

Back in Jake’s planet, looks like there’s an Alice in Wonderland tea party going on, with Jake taking the role of Mad Hatter. Am I interrupting something here?

JAKE: So i take it i am to stand in for the mad hatter in this charade? JASPROSESPRITE^2: Yes. JAKE: Except... wasnt the mad hatter supposed to be like... in charge of the tea party or something? JAKE: I really dont know what im supposed to be doing here. JASPROSESPRITE^2: Nothing! Just sit there quietly please. JASPROSESPRITE^2: No offense, but you are only a prop actor in this fanciful scenario, which is serving as the stage for my date with this lovely lady. NEPETASPRITE: :33 < wait... NEPETASPRITE: :33 < this is a date?

Oh. Uh...I want off this tea party. Also that’s all Jake has been used for by everyone, I think, he’s considered pretty much the dead weight of the group by everybody. It’s a shame. He may not have much in terms of powers or skills, but at this point he’s treated as a joke by everyone. I feel bad for him.

Nepeta actually wonders how everyone is, especially Karkaroni and Equius, and is happy to hear that both are okay, even if one is a sprite right now. She also seems uncomfortable about this whole ‘date’ thing, although she did recognize the part that was Jaspers.

It’s nice to have Nepeta around, really. Leaving aside Jasprosesprite’s pushiness, it’s good to see someone who is pretty much one of the nicer characters alive right now. She did like Karkat in a romantic way, which I already knew, and is disheartened to hear he has moved on, chance Jasprosesprite pounces on – until someone else arrives, at least.

DAVESPRITE: hey whats up

...wait what? Davesprite, when did you get here? I thought he was dead! Or...left in the other timeline, at the very least! Guess maybe I should have seen it coming. The Davesprite in this timeline had died, there was an empty space for a new one to exist.

Davesprite didn’t even know what was going on. One moment he was at John’s planet, just lounging around, stuff happened, and now he flew to this planet and found them all. Jasprosesprite tries to get him to go away, this is a date, after all.

DAVESPRITE: a date DAVESPRITE: thats cool DAVESPRITE: with who the mad hatter guy? JASPROSESPRITE^2: Good lord, no.

Thank you so much for that one, Davesprite, I really needed that laugh right now, haha. Davesprite and Nepeta go ahead to shake their hands.

...oh. I see where this is going. That’s an odd combination! So there’ll be a mix between Dave and Nepeta now. I’m curious how that’s going to be! Their personalities aren’t opposite or anything, but they’re pretty different to each other. I don’t think they’ll explode, but yeah! How’s this going to work, hm...

The result is colorfully painful to look at. How can anyone in this universe look at these sprites without wanting to have sunglasses? The good thing is that this fusion is already paying dividends in pleasant ways, Jasprosesprite isn’t interested in them. I have this feeling of satisfaction at his present misfortune.

Calliope meets the Mayor and is led to Jade, who apparently still may be talking with the alternate Calliope. Planning what’s going to happen, perhaps? Calliope’s out loud musing leads to the point of view changing to Jade, who indeed, is flying around with the other Calliope.

Doomed Calliope may be blunt, but she sure knows what she’s talking about. She’s telling Jade the intricacies of the aspects of Sburb in paradox space, and how a Space player notices space itself. It’s a bit difficult to understand, but it makes sense, from what I saw. I think Jade is fond of this Calliope too, even though she’s anxious about returning to her friends. May be good to listen what Doomed Calliope has to say, Jade.

CALLIOPE: why the hurry? CALLIOPE: you have already proven your heroism in the moments when it was needed most. CALLIOPE: it is important to know when the greatest good is best served by remaining dormant. CALLIOPE: whether that burden is for close to eternity, or only a few more minutes. CALLIOPE: it is something to learn as a space player. CALLIOPE: space falls back. it yields. hosts the play silently. CALLIOPE: then, it roars to life when its time comes, showing all who is really the master. CALLIOPE: and so too when the time comes, it collapses in on itself, taking all else with it.

Hmmm...you’re not insinuating Jade is going to have to die permanently or anything, right? Well, I know that it’s unlikely it’ll happen anytime soon, since Jade was trapped in the juju during the fight with Caliborn, but anything after that is a mystery for me. I’m hoping she’ll live in the end.

So, about that new sprite...

...hm...well they’re happy about this, at least! No emotional conflict here, and they sound rather excited. Heck, they also start roleplaying – in non-ironic ways. This is very bizarre. Looks like one of the reasons why Davepetasprite feels so well is because they both had the impression of being the main characters in their own personal stories, or something like that. I don’t remember, had Davesprite ever said that he was just another Dave more? I think he had once said that, so...whatever’s making them feel good I don’t think it’s related to any of that.

What is Jake shooting back there...did the Felt already arrive? Anyways, Jasprosesprite had planned everything related to this marriage thing, and now it’s all ruined. Okay, I could have lived without the talk of mild pseudoincest dating Davepetasprite talked around briefly. Let’s not, please.

Well that’s a surprise! And even more of a surprise because neither Davesprite nor Nepeta felt particularly compelled to do such thing, but this sprite feels that their combination may be something Lord English is particularly vulnerable to. That’s...maybe? I don’t think I see exactly why, but if it defeats Lord English I can’t complain. Maybe Dave was right all along and he isn’t meant to be a hero, maybe he should give the Welsh sword to this sprite and see how it goes. It’s worth a try!

Now that they took the decision of fighting Lord English, there’s something else they want to do first: see ‘a couple of bros from the past’. I think that’s what’s going to happen now, so I’ll stop for the moment. Good luck to them!

Rare Find: Original 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Rally Sport Not Driven Since 1980

The garage door to the suburban home in northern Ohio opened, and we could see a 1969 Z/28 plainly in the double-car garage. Most of the space was taken up by bicycles and what appeared to be toys.

“Karl is the guy who owns the car,” Michael Lightbourn said. “It was his father’s, and he’s got the power of attorney, so in a sense he inherited it, but his dad is still around.”

The previous night we had visited with Karl and his father’s sister, Juanita, at another house 4 to 5 miles away. Due to divorce, Karl would not be able to make an appearance the next day at the family abode where he had lived the previous 17 years.

“How long has it been parked?” Michael asked.

Karl said, “The last time it was driven was 1994. [My father, Stacy Quickle] took my son, William, for a ride. He parked it on Colby Road and it has not [been driven] anywhere since. We had a set of four Rally wheels under it, and I put on space saver spares. When those went flat, we dragged it onto a flatbed and into the garage where it’s at now.”

The time had come to sell because Stacy, living in California, had health issues and was “not going to fix it.”

“I’m not going to be the one to do it,” Karl said. “I’ve got nowhere to keep it. I don’t know what else to do with it.”

Karl was “3 or 4 years old” when Stacy, living in Elyria, Ohio, purchased the Z/28 brand new. Walking into the garage, we noticed the license plate frame inscribed with the Chevy dealer’s name, Sharpnack, on top and the location, Vermilion, on the bottom. The car sat low on those four airless space saver tires, which was strange but true.

“When I was younger it seemed like daily, several times a week, people asked, ‘Is this car for sale?’ He has said no for 49 years, and this is the first time, on March 29 [2018], that he sent me the paperwork and has agreed to sell.”

Z/28 is the big deal with this Rare Find, of course. But this particular example came from the factory with both (1) the Rally Sport front end, featuring the special black-painted grille with concealed headlights, and (2) the body-colored front bumper, option code VE3, aka Endura, made of rubber and optional on any 1969 Camaro.

Our appointment time was 8:30 in the morning. Don, Karl’s uncle, had just arrived to show us the Z/28. Don immediately slipped into the garage to start removing debris. We asked him to let us take photos first.

Being there in person is much different from receiving photos from readers, and this was an amazing find to come face to face with. How often do you see an unrestored 1969 model anything wearing its original paint and get to talk to people who have owned and driven the car since new?

The nonrunning Z/28 on that garage floor came to life as Karl and Juanita spoke. Karl said, “At around 20,000 miles, [Stacy] told me he was right over here on Pearl Avenue. He crossed some railroad tracks and he took off hard and hit a water puddle, and [the 302] developed a tick. About two weeks later he drove it to Vermilion, and that’s when [the Chevy dealer] said the wristpin had eaten into the cylinder wall.”

One of our first moves was to open the hood, which required a key to the aftermarket hood locks. We did this before checking out the trim tag to verify the Z/28’s originality, Michael said, “Want to see something amazing this car still has?”

“What?”

“The smog system. Those are the first things that got ditched on these cars.”

The AC radiator cap also appeared to be original, which was entirely possible, as the odometer was accurate at 37,403.4 and the car had hardly been driven since about 1980, the date of the last registration on the license plates.

We noticed tower-style factory hose clamps. The valve covers were stock as well. Overall, the engine compartment appeared like the dealer had done the replacement engine warranty work. The car didn’t change much from the early 1970s.

Juanita, eight years younger than her older brother Stacy, recalled how driving the Z/28 during 1970-1974 made her “the coolest kid in high school.”

Did she “hot rod” the Z/28? “I did my share of racing,” Juanita said, and “never got beat.”

“I remember driving it down 57 here and going from where the mall is to 254, running it through the gears and watching the gas gauge drop.”

With all the stories and Karl showing us the original title, from 1969, we were certain the car was a Z/28. The trim tag backed up the Z/28 package with its X33 stamping. But what about that engine? Lightbourn shined his light onto the pad on the passenger-side front of the engine, where it read, “CEA.” At the same time, Michael spoke on his cellphone to a former GM employee who worked for Chevrolet when these cars were new.

“CE” possibly refers to Counter Exchange or Chevrolet Engine. No matter—not just anybody could buy an engine stamped “CE,” which is a designation for warranty action and not available to the public.

In this light, an older GM muscle car with a warrantied engine is different from the same GM muscle car with a missing engine that has been replaced by a private party. Sometimes these shops or owners get a “correct DZ” block, but this engine installation would not be as rigorous as a CE replacement from Chevrolet.

In other words, collectors will spout, “Oh, the original engine is missing, so this Z/28 will never be numbers-matching.” Maybe so, but a Counter Exchange creates a correct factory replacement engine, authorized by Chevrolet procedure.

In this instance, the block needed to be replaced, along with the internals. The dealer reinstalled the remaining original parts, from the air cleaner assembly to the Holley four-barrel, the intake, valve covers, heads, exhaust manifolds, and right down to the smog system that was intact and those tower-style hose clamps. They even screwed on that original radiator cap, now appearing as icing on this cake.

The car will go to the collection of Duane Lobbestael from the Detroit area. Duane has been a Camaro buff since he was 10. Born in 1969, he bought his first Camaro, a 1969 RS/SS 396, in 1984 from saved paper route money. He really likes this 1969 Rally Sport Z/28 because it is a “survivor.”

The first words out of Michael Lightbourn’s mouth when he saw the Z/28 were, “Looks like a decent car.” This car has been garage-kept for all but a year or so since new. It sat low on flattened space-saver spare tires.

Karl had last seen the original window sticker in the pages of one of the old car magazines inside the car. Sadly, the invoice was nowhere to be found.

The original dealer replaced the original 302 in the early 1970s under warranty.

The four-barrel is an original Holley 780-cfm carburetor, as verified by the Chevrolet part number 3923289-DZ and Holley list number 4053. “913” is a date code where “9” stands for 1969, “1” is January, and “3” is the third week of the month.

The trim tag on the cowl has the all-important X33, which decodes as Style Trim Group with Special Performance Equipment (Z28) for cars built in Norwood, Ohio. “NOR” indicates Norwood on this plate.

Lightbourn pointed out that one of the battery cables was still factory original.

Incredibly, the original radiator cap remained.

A big surprise under the hood was finding the original smog system intact and in place.

When a Z/28 is equipped with RS equipment, the RS badges are deleted from the fenders. However, the RS logo remains on the steering wheel.

The trunk was full of debris, but the spare tire appeared to have never been on the ground.

The rear window had traces of rust around the moldings.

“CAE” stamped on the engine pad, passenger side, denotes a Counter Exchange, which was warranty work.

The odometer showed 37,403.4 miles.

The original Rally wheels were stored in a storage shed in the backyard.

The paint is the original Dover White with black stripes.

Hideaway headlights, part of the Rally Sport package in 1969, were in good condition.

Today, unrestored cars are popular with muscle car collectors. They like to see originality, like this original Z/28 badge in the grille.

Don, Karl’s uncle, struggles to get the trunk open in the sea of bikes and toys.

The biggest surprise of this treasure hunt was finding the original tires, with ample tread and probably about 500 original miles on them, concealed under 7-8 feet of boxes and toys in the corner of the garage.

Loaded on the trailer, the Z/28 was ready to be shipped to its new home. Michael Lightbourn’s plan is for the car to remain in its original state.
