Here's a thought. I am very, very glad Smosh donated towards funds for Gaza. I'm glad they are sharing the Creators for Palestine initiative on their social media. It's what we've been wanting.

What feels disingenuous to me is that this is coming on the heels of Damien being 'called out' on Twitter. Especially because it came from Shayne, who is very close to Damien. Now, I don't think Shayne is being performative. Same for Courtney and Ian.

I just wonder if this was done to save face in a way because they managed to ignore the Noah stuff, but Damien is far more high profile and active on social media, so I just wonder if they felt at this point they HAD to say something. Also, unfortunately, Damien engaged with a Palestinian fan in a way that was disrespectful. Whereas Noah did not.

Now, I am in no way defending Noah or demonizing Damien. I just think this situation feels strange in all regards.
