I know Halloween is over but, I’ve got Frankenstein on my mind.

This guy…. this guy had me running all over town. A little while ago, @hiddenattic and I went to an antique and vintage show. I can’t even remember why anymore but, we both looked at each other and said “Don’t let me buy anything”. Well, I don’t know how we managed it but, we kept that promise… Unfortunately , I couldn’t stop thinking about this guy. I had rebuffed his glow because he is far from perfect - someone cut out the back long ago and glued the stones in with a glue that has now turned orange, making the amethysts appear a little like ametrine at certain angles.
I couldn’t stop thinking about him. But, I couldn’t remember who the vendor was or where she was located inside the show. I started contacting a few without success. Finally, @hiddenattic remembered her name but she was nowhere to be found online! The following weekend, I went to another antique market where she had been spotted years ago. After wandering around not recognizing anyone, I finally asked a vendor if she might know her and she did. Turns out, she had stopped selling there years ago but, this lovely woman offered to give her my contact info. A few days later, she called and I went to her home to retrieve this Frankenring precious that is now in my personal collection.

Moral of the story - just because a piece isn’t in the best antique condition (give them all a break, I mean they’ve lived lives before us), if you love it and it’s reasonably priced (this ring was nowhere near the price of a non-glue-and-cut-out-behind example), buy it and wear it and love it with all of your heart.

At the premiere of the holiday film “The Star” earlier today,  I had a good and quick chat with Zachary Levi. I worked with a show a long time ago called “Less then Perfect” that included him. At a taping at CBS Radford, I was sitting where all the TV monitors are while the show was taping and he came up to me and introduced himself -- which he didn’t have to do. I still remember that (even though he doesn’t) and told him he was the friendliest person on the show. Good guy! #lessthanperfect #thestar #animation #tangled
