Les Incompétents Fall/Winter 2015 ~

Founded by designer Emeline Morellet and Stephen Smith, Montreal-based fashion label Les Incompétents' creative approach to modern mens and women's wear is based on the philosophy formed by the antagonism between conscious and unconscious competence. By questioning individuals and organizations that battle between the stages of ‘apathy’ and ‘effectiveness’. By choosing to be ‘consciously incompetent’, which foundation is set on ‘doing’ and maintaining a routine which becomes ‘effortless’, Morellet and Smith are actively competent, aware of their flaws and weaknesses, yet choosing not to be confined in their ‘comfort zone’. Les Incompétents’ Fall/Winter 2015 collection draws inspiration from arid landscapes and mineral elements set in the landmarks and surroundings of Montreal. With unconventional silhouettes, texturized fabrics and a toned down color palette, the unisex line presents statement pieces that start out for its originality, wearability, and dissimilarity.
