my opinion about the boruto kids is that i think sarada is allowed to stay no matter what because she’s cute / sasuke will IC feel compelled to have children he’s bad at raising and i think any conversation sasuke “well sorry about all that” uchicha could have with sakura about getting her in on creating the next generation of uchiha is incomprehensibly funny to imagine.

i think the most annoying part of the mitsuki is abusive fanon is that fans have no issue pretending that midnight isn’t a pedophile (since it’s for... “”comedy””) or that bakugou stabbing izuku in the head with his costume pieces isnt slapstick but suddenly when you get the common (and annoying but whatever) “mom thwapping child” slapstick gag NOW it’s taken seriously

the hypocrisy in this fandom is wild to me. so mitsuki acting like that means she’s an abusive piece of shit, but when bakugo does it he’s just a ~uwu little babie~ who doesn’t know any better???? and horikoshi just plays it up for laughs????? lmao.

in universe stan twitter vs akechi goro is so funny to me every once and a while somebody who isn’t drinking the koolaid tries to point out he’s suspiciously adjacent to fash right wing politician masayoshi shido until they get ratio’d by his hardcore stans.

i actually have this dumb hc abt Yosuke straight up hating akechis guts in 2016 and getting fucking wrecked by his stans online who are like "lol uh yr a grown man and he lives in yr head rent free? 😬😬😬"

in all fairness towards horikoshi i suspect a lot of bakugou’s writing is due to his editors breathing down his neck about This Extremely Marketable Character especially since bakugou was never intended to be as... “important”... as he is now (and now that horikoshi has finally hit the point where he’s sort of clearly writing what he wants to write his narratives are FAR from flawless and i have thoughts/feelings/opinions but i think it’s funny bakugou hasn’t shown up in ages except for like. a single issue overture towards his faux importance before everyone forgot about him again)

me dropping bnha what feels like forever ago so idk at all but that... sounds about right, like near exactly what i expected but even then idk, like is it strange how i feel like im already being fair to horikoshi even with how over n done w i feel w the series...

honestly ive been thinking that editorial is a lot to blame for bnha not workin for me in the long term since i first saw horikoshi’s character drafts for izuku, bakugo and ochako like wayyyy back before deku vs bakugo part 2 happened 

like i still think those beta character designs were much more capable to carry the main themes that we thought bnha would get into by chapter 100 the way the versions we got were meant to

but thats kinda my problem too like im already over bnha ngl cuz i got sooo tired of reading the manga for the story it had the “potential” to be instead of the story it was... 

like bakugo not being relevant to the later plots at all is so... hilarious to me cuz he’s barely relevant to the early ones either except an obstacle that couldve been anyone n much better written for it, so if anything its just like lmfao so that really WAS a waste of time exactly as i was thinking this whole time  

cuz honestly even if bakugo’s terrible writing had a lot more to do w horikoshi being forced to give a very popular character more screentime... he really could have just ... wrote him a lil better. 

like i got thru soooo much of bnha expectin horikoshi to turn it around n then deku vs bakgo pt2 happened n i realsied he was just lettin a poorly written character THAT WAS NOT EVEN THE PROTAGONIST [cuz i can get into how izuku’s writing flops in fact most of the characters r all cool concept n terrible execution but bkgo is literally like??? what even is the concept] take up soooo much space that could have gone to any of these other popular characters or even if he managed to use bakugo as a jumping off point for another more interesting side character to get shine.

imagining crazy stupid in universe akechi twitter drama makes me smile. every once and a while somebody will write a callout post about how he’s Known To Support rep. shido and shido is blatantly at least fash flavored and the discourse hammer swings down on everyone for like. a week. akechi hates his dad SO much dnjdjd

shoutout to “AKECHI IS BAE” guy on the phan-site for basically confirming there are most certainly goro stans and therefore goro stan accounts canonically in p5 because. can you imagine the shit that fucking goro goddamn detective prince akechi stan accounts would get up to. 

we’re going to ignore the cultural differences for a moment because admittedly i don’t know the sort of tone that japanese twitter stan accounts usually have but. thinking about “AKECHI IS BAE” guy i can only imagine theyre ravenous and an absolute nightmare and akechi fucking hates them

for someone who leans so heavily into the Composed Refined Inquisitive Justice-Focused Detective Prince facade, the hundreds of candids floating around the twittersphere of him biking around the city or grabbing a bite to eat at a food stand or him tersely talking on the phone with shido an unknown someone or him talking to some random shujin student in shibuya station are not his Favorite thing in the world. his twitter account is practically dormant because whenever he tweets he either gets weird replies to his tweets or his absolutely flooded with mentions from the stans and the politically savvy users fighting over his connection to shido and corruption within the police department and his stance on the phantom thieves

when the shido connection gets BIG and even the goro stans are like “wait actually this shido guy is actually kinda concerning our king isnt really involved with him is he?” akechi is remarkably talented at redirecting interview questions to safer topics. he’ll be hounded about the phantom thieves and take a huge public opinion hit because he’s toughened his stance to change the reason his name is in the headlines over touching the shido thing with a ten foot pole ANY day of the fucking week

unrelated to the above point but yknow how the thieves stans and the goro stans would go at each other on the phan-site? it’s literal warfare on thieves and akechi stan twitter. theres actual bloodlust between the two. god this small insignificant part of the culture around the phantom thieves is so fun to think about

🔥 persona in general?

I really want Atlus to pull a persona 2 and have one set canon name right from the beginning. I still think obvi that you as the player should be able to change it, but i also think there should be one name and it should be stuck to. I really don’t care for the name debate. Whenever p6 comes out I want one name that’s just a catch all. It can still be the -protagonist- most officially but at least have one singular consistent name please.

Yeah, pretty much lol. Kasumi/Sumire’s dad works at the TV station. I remember watching that scene at the cafe and finding it funny that he was far more focused on makin’ Ren sweat than in like. Actually communicating with another human being besides Ren. Boy’s got tunnel vision.

@lesbianakechi ironic to what you say (abt goro being ‘normal’ in this regard), i think it’s supposed to emphasize his “abnormality,” because he, unlike most “healthy, red-blooded teenage boys” isn’t just out of control horny. After akechi, i’d say yusuke, who is considered an “eccentric” shows the 2nd least interest in women. his main “perv” moment is mostly considered a misunderstanding that stems from is isolation-induced social awkwardness. It contrasts with Ryuji’s position as an everyman or well, a regular “healthy, red-blooded teenage boy.” Personally, I don’t think this is actually “normal behaviour,” but within the language of slice-of-life anime/manga/light novels, of which this borrows a lot from, it’s a ubiquitous trope and definitely something that signals “normalness” in a male character. The assumed male audience is supposed to exercise their own desires through them as the actions aren’t viable irl. back to akechi, this lack of interest in women conveniently provides ample leeway for queer/fujo-baiting of which they take full advantage of and it almost makes it so that he’s implicitly gay. I believe tho, that it is intended only as baiting because outside of specifically gay-oriented media, mainstream Japanese companies don’t tend to see the gay ppl as a viable market; However, in the otaku-oriented video game industry, fujoshi are and baiting them will satisfy them enough without “alienating” homophobes as ATLUS in particular seems to have learnt from Persona 4.

wrt to akechi’s lack of misogyny, he’s honestly more likely to be some kind of self-loathing male misandrist than a misogynist.

A bit less than eight years ago, I created a simple Word document to list my favorite fanfiction, so that if I wanted to reread something I could easily find it again. Five years ago today, I uploaded it as a proper multifandom rec list, having realized how huge the scale of it had gotten and its potential as more than just a reference for my own use. And now, it’s time for the semiannual public version update once again, bringing the uploaded file up-to-date with my continuously-updated personal copy.

With this expansion, the list goes from 2,440 to 2,578 total fics, from 118 to 122 fandoms represented, and from ~49.6 million to over 53.4 million words. (There’s a stats section that goes into more detail on such things at the end of the list document, if you’re interested.)

djdjjdjd since joker and goro canonically kin each other does that make the protagonist a light kinnie by association. real and fucked up phantom thieves discourse. goro standing on a chair prepared to stab the next person who suggests he kins light yagami and joker is fueling the discourse by insisting he had kin memories now

joker definitely has an awareness of what kinning is and is the one to gleefully explain it to the thieves who are unaware (which is everyone but futaba and yusuke. they’re both kinnies. no elaboration necessary).

joker also uses the phrase “kindating” in reference to himself and goro for at least a month straight. every time he says it in the group chat goro blocks him and leaves and every time futaba has to force him back in and face the reality that he’s kindating his own light yagami double. its torturous to goro but hysterical to everyone else which is pretty par for the course honestly
