A leaf-footed bug found on a guava! Much probably a Leptoglossus zonatus. It seems like it's missing a leg. Poor bug!

This looks like Leptoglossus sp., species would depend on location and I’d need to see the markings on the other side. And species also determines what it might like to eat. The western conifer seed bug feeds on developing seeds in pine cones but the eastern leaf footed bug will eat garden crops. Either way, if it’s been just chillin in a spot for days where it is free to leave from, especially this time of year, it’s likely nearing the end of its natural life span. I would just leave it alone unless it’s stuck there with no escape? Then you can put it somewhere outside on a plant.

This guy (Leptoglossus occidentalis, or western conifer seed bug) has been flying around in my area in the past week. Each time I could only observe it from a distance, yearning to have one close to admire. Today was the day I finally had one in my door frame, so I took it onto my hands and it loved my warmth. It decided to cuddle up in the rift of my fingers lay there flat and stretched out. I let it stay there for half an hour maybe, it even turned around a few times and changed fingers... lovely little bug friend.

also today I think a Western Conifer Seed Bug (Leptoglossus occidentalus) fell on my head. It then went onto the pavement and I inspected it a bit but I didn't get a photo because I was by the side of a busy road and people were walking past. They're recently invasive to the UK but aren't that threatening right now.
(Although they aren't very good for pine trees...mind you I think I was walking under a pine tree when it fell on me lol)
Very interesting bugs.

A Western Conifer Seed Bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) that managed to infiltrate our place of employment. Also known as Pine Bugs in some areas, these guys apparently… Smell of banana bread when upset?
Very lucky to not have experienced it’s wrath, it seems!
What’s slightly less lucky is that, not only are they a very widespread invasive species, they have a tendency to spend their winters inside of homes…
Let’s hope it was just the one!

A leaf-footed bug! I can’t tell which species, but probably in the genus Leptoglossus.

It's starting to warm up again after a brief chilly spell, which means I can see a few more critters before the snow falls! I found a giant wheel bug at a gas station (which my mom affectionately calls wheelie bugs) and a seed bug on our garage!
