Just had a lot on my mind of late and the one gift that my Mother instilled in me was to be a worry wart. So need to get some worries out my life so I can paint, but I did take time to do a meditation drawing. So sinceI was worried about things, I made up my mind to put that feeling down on paper.. I titled it "Worry Wart" the little Werling yetis of random thoughts couple with the whispering voices of inner demons in back of your head. All pulling at your heart and soul. It talks about the very thin line in the human heart, that we make choices between good and evil everyday. Greeting everyone, so Friday is “Pack the House Art Show” and it the NEW Grand Opening of Horseflower's Creative Hotspot in our new location at 1404 N.Main St. Suite 3 Rockford, IL 61103. Once again I had the chance to chat with one of our artists. This time on the Art of the New I interviewed Drew Eurek. Drew is what you call a expressionist style painter and borders on cubist in his style. Here some Drew's some answers to questions that I asked him in our talk. Lenny: So Drew what is your relationship with your artwork and what is the story behind your work? Drew: I have a lustful intrigue to my work, I like to approach each piece as an adventure to find something new that will play into what my initial idea was Lenny: So what started driving you to make art? Drew: I got started in art as a means to creating a clear image of my desires of that time. What started as drawing things I wanted for a birthday or Christmas grew into drawing and painting the search for atmospheres and attractive women Lenny: So who are some your heroes in art? Drew: My heros are Willem De Kooning, Eddie Martinez, Cecily Brown, and Jackson Pollock Thanks Drew for the one on one chat about you, the artist, I’m sure it will help people see art in a different way. Well done for tonight on this painting #last_train_to_clarksville, many people say you can't control where a painting want to go. I say it isn't the painting controling me, it is the Divine. I am no more great than the paint brush that I hold in my hand. I'm the tool that the Divine uses to show his love and wisdom through. So today back on doing our sign, just pushing to get the sign finish. I have a tom get done before ArtScene.. been feeling frustrated because we're closing on a house next week, but all my tools and that are packed away. So next Month is Breast Cancer awareness month, Also the Fall ArtScene is 6th,7th of October. So I made up my mind to have a 2in 1 show. So 2 art Show in the same space, the one show I titled the "TaTa" show. So artwork that in this show, is based around breast cancer and the artist experience with in some way. So yesterday I talked about the white stripes in the background on the painting #last_train_to_clarksville and as my followers what those stripes stand for? We'll this stripes stand for the uniforms that prisoners in Nazi's deaths had to wear, I like how abstract they are.
