The coffee's a little stale but passable. Frankly, Leo knows that he could make a better brew at home, but in an effort to spend more time out in the city while not at work, he's been frequenting cafes and restaurants further and further away from Sector 3. Today he finds himself in Sector 5 in a cafe over-run with people that couldn't possibly be old enough to be students pursuing higher education. They look practically like children, even the ones that are less humanoid than most.

So it comes as a relief when he spots on a familiar face, and he makes a beeline to them, immediately. "Rafael, mind if I join you? Didn't realize I was interrupting a school field trip to a coffee shop today."

"Thank you," Leo sighs with relief, depositing himself in the chair opposite Rafael and taking a healthy gulp from his warm coffee. He always appreciated seeing a familiar face, but a calm presence like Rafael's was especially appreciated today. "I take it this isn't exactly conducive to productivity today," he remarks, gesturing to their surroundings and wincing as an exceptionally loud howl fills the cafe from someone on the other side of the room. "Just my luck, I suppose."

"Oh you know me, keeping busy, but good. Happy to say that the project you helped with last year is well underway and making good progress. Which actually reminds me, after your helpful insights, we connected with a manufacturer doing some really interesting stuff with with building materials. Have you heard of Ertech Solutions?"

rafael likes to get out of the lab when they can, and 'nita hates sitting around at home when they could be out and about, experiencing the city. this is one of their regular spots, even if the coffee isn't exactly gourmet. the chairs are comfy and it's usually got the perfect balance of quiet and conversation to help them really focus on their work. that balance is completely nonexistent at the moment, though, and they've just resigned themself to getting absolutely nothing done when leo sets his coffee down and asks to join them.

"i'll be honest i have no idea where they all came from," rafael says with a smile and a confused shake of their head. "please, sit down, it's good to see you leo. what have you been up to?"
