i have So Much i could say about gwaine but the biggest thing is how utterly ridiculous what they did to his character post s3 was (with the exception so far of one scene in my continuing rewatch). he became comic relief!! the gwaine we met in the whole ass episode dedicated to him titled “gwaine” became!! on-the-side comic relief!! of a himbo variety!! what the fuck happened to the genius fighter/swordsman with wit to match merlin’s and a penchant for trouble but a heart of gold that we were introduced to!! where the hell did the ruggedly charming, obviously intelligent adventurer who’s been to like 95% of the world that was established in the eye of the pheonix disappear to!! he was so much better than the “hee-hee i’m gonna stick my hand in a beehive bc i totally don’t know that’s a bad idea” dumbass that’s onscreen for like 98% of the series after s3
#haven't watched s5 yet#and i'm not expecting much#but hey i might be pleasantly surprised#anyw this is my hottest take bc it's the one i give the most shits abt#they massacred my boy#absolutely slaughtered him like a pig#and for what??#DUMB THOT JOKES????#gwaine was too good of a character#to deserve any of this#and i will stay mad abt it until my grave#from op#leo is salty about merlin#bbc merlin#gwaine

For the salty asks: numbers one, five, six, and twenty through twenty-three please 😇
I live for the chaos so pls just... go off my dude
Ah Tay, reason #187893467 that I love you is that you indulge me in my rants <3
Salty asks are from this post!
K this got LONG so here's a read more!
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Honestly even though I don't multi-ship often I DO usually get the appeal behind ships so this is a really short list. This will probably get me some hate but I still to this day can't get behind c/ex@ from the show that will not be named. But then again I do get the appeal of two super attractive women with chemistry and the whole ruler/ girl who makes the ruler change their ways thing. So I guess I get it even if I don't like it?
Also, and this is not to hate on Hinny, but Harry and Ginny from HP are not my cup of tea. I like what fandom has done for them but the actual content we get for them in the books (and movies, but I prefer the books) isn't enough for me to love them. Same with Mal and Alina from S & B/ Grishaverse, they're so bland to me in the books but the show is doing far better with them and actually making Mal ya know. Likeable. Again, I don't ship it, but best friends to lovers is top tier so I get it.
Oh! I also don't really get Dwalin/Ori from The Hobbit, but that is probably in large part because I'm a Dwalin/Nori shipper. Again though, all of the secondary characters' relationships in The Hobbit rely on fans to extrapolate HARD and wear extreme shipper goggles, and ik there's that scene where Dwalin helps Ori out of the river so like.. maybe that's where it's from? I don't hate it or anything but it's always something that's made me go ??? cause I have no idea where the heck it came from.
Apart from that... I can't think of any rn? I feel like I understand where all the PJO ships come from, even if I don't ship them. There are a couple that I don't understand how they can be someone's OTP, just because I find them super boring (no offense to those who ship C@leo or J@siper but I just don't love how Rick handled those relationships). In TSC I think fandom mainly vibes with the same pairings and that's true for most of my book fandoms. With the shows I watch I don't think fans majorly ship anything too out there for me. Maybe I don't interact enough with fandoms to tell. So this is all I got.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Oh my god, oh my god, this is a can of worms, my lord. A pairing I'm not so sure about, but characters? Abso-fucking-lutely. I took a break from PJO fandom for exactly that reason and the list of characters is endless honestly, for multiple fandoms.
I won't say fandom ruined Bell@rke for me cause I still ship it, but I definitely lost enthusiasm with how toxic the shows fandom was and then that was made even worse when the show completely destroyed itself with the worst writing and plots ever in the latter seasons.
Also I have a feeling that G@me of Thrones/ @soiaf ruined one for me but I can't remember this very second. Maybe not, and again that's probably cause I don't interact with fandoms en masse, usually just through fic and following a few people I vibe with in each.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
Yes, quite a few! I used to dislike Drarry (for obvious reasons I feel) and Romione (as a kid I wanted Hermione to be with Harry and even when I grew out of that I really didn't like she was with Ron) but fandom changed that for sure. And same with Darklina now, I was upset cause I felt like the books really underutilized their relationship and fell short of what could have been a super awesome pairing if better explored, but the show fandom is taking it in so many different ways that I'm starting to really love them despite the reasons I shouldn't.
And I won't say I hated Hayffie in THG, but definitely the only reason I ship them is from reading @ellanainthetardis's fic Have a Drink Sweetheart and then all the others written for them. That portrayal of Hayffie and the characters have become my own headcanons now because I've been reading them for so long and they're so good.
Fandom made me ship Leon and Morgana from Merlin too, though that's very lowkey. I never hated them, I just never thought of them as a pairing until reading fic.
20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?
Percabeth. I don't care which fandom, it's Percabeth. Growing up together, going from enemies to friends to best friends to lovers? The establishment of them being best friends and the way Rick wrote that friendship was so pure, and they are a couple with no internal problems, all external, and you just know they're gonna be together through everything, fighting at each other's side, cause that's the way they are. There's a reason they're my OTP and it's cause they are the most well-established, ride or die couple I can think of. They're just so solid.
21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?
Love em for fandom but personally I very rarely get behind crackships just because I usually need a lot of build up, scenes, good dialogue and chemistry, etc. to ship something, so most of my ships aren't crack ships. The only one I can really think of that I actively root for and ship and would read fic for is Billy/ Owen from 911 Lonestar which is just... something.
Like idk if Barduil from The Hobbit is crack because ik it's quite popular... what makes a ship a crack ship anyway? Lack of canon reference? Is it cause they two characters would be so random together because they barely ever interact? Or because it's SO unrealistic you know for sure it will never happen but want it to anyway? Or is it lack of popularity in fandom? I need someone to define this so I have a better answer :D if it's the second option then I have MANY
I love seeing fandom stuff for crack ships though, cause seriously, it's fiction, ship who you want. If you ship two characters just cause you think they're pretty side by side then that's enough for me. Make all of the fan art and fic you like.
22. Popular character you hate?
Oof. Jason from HOO. And Leo in everything after The Lost Hero. I hated Piper in The Lost Hero and Mark of Athena but like her after those. I don't like any of the book characters from S & B except Nikolai, but I like everyone in the show (except David? Why did they make him so weird? Like he's not even awkward, he's straight up rude imo, but anyway). In @soiaf I don't like Jon Snow, I think he's boring. And I despise Jorah Mormont cause I think he's creepy for having a crush on Dany.
Didn't love Stefan in TVD, too much of a goody-two-shoes. I liked dark Stefan but it felt like a totally different character. Honestly most of the characters I don't like cause they're boring or too by-the-book.
OH! A big one in M@rvel is Captain America. Can't stand him honestly, I like him as a character to have in the story, but I like never agree with him on anything. I like a couple of his one-liners but that's it really. I also don't like Gale in THG, idk if that's controversial. Or Lex@ from the show that will not be named because I think she's manipulative and not good for any of the characters i DO love.
Is Ron popular? I think so. I like fandom Ron but not canon Ron and idk why. I think I'm growing out of it but I read those books when I was like 7 initially so I thought it was awful of Ron to stop being friends with Harry because he was jealous and I never really got over that.
There are so many but I'm gonna stop now.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Again, tons. I love anyone whose got kind of a tortured backstory because it makes them more interesting to me.
I love Movieverse Hawkeye! I think Clint is great and while I wish his deafness was canon in Marvel and I don't love J Remmer, I do love Hawkeye a lot. He was honestly one of the only Marvel characters that felt consistent and in-character throughout the movies.
I like President Snow from THG just cause I think he was a fantastic villain. And Effie and Haymitch aren't unpopular, but they're probably my favourites, again because of the fics mentioned above.
Leon from Merlin!! I don't actually think he's unpopular, but he's like... my fourth favourite character in the show which I know IS considered high for most people.
Sandor Clegane from ASOIAF. Not the show, just the books. His book character is phenomenal and I am so excited for GrrM to finish the goddamn series so I know what happens to him.
The Stolls and Katie Gardner from PJO cause fandom created Tratie and sucked me in at a young age.
Bellatrix Lestrange? Is she unpopular? I don't think so but she's another one I think is a fantastic villain. I'm almost more interested in her than Voldemort tbh.
That's probably it!
Thanks so much for the ask Tay, this was tons of fun! Anyone else who's interested can feel free to fill my inbox!
#taylor tag#ask games#look it's me!#now I'm just thinking of all the ships I hate and want to go off#i won't#but tay maybe you've awakened something in me that you will feel the brunt of later

détentewonderful @thiswaycomessomethingwicked tagged me in the First Line game, which is going to be fun!
Rules are: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line.
Good thing I’m not a ficwriter, so I don’t have a lot of works lmao.
ultima ratio
The Carmelite convent of the Saint-Jacques faubourg was a quiet, sombre place. The daughters of Saint Teresa only opened their mouths to sing holy hymns, and all flesh there, except for the time of prayer, kept silence before the Lord. An uninterrupted life went by unhurriedly, unperturbed by disturbances of the outside world.
Here Be Sleeping Dragons
“During their last term fifth-year students will practice Vanishing Spells, that can be applied to small animals; and I think that the introduction of lectures dedicated to basic mathematical formulae of Conjuring Spells for those who are planning on taking Transfiguration in the sixth year—”
“Wait”, there was a sound of lazy voice somewhere to his right. “Don’t you think that writing out all these formulae is a little bit… Muggle-like approach to magic?”
‘Dear Merlin, do you really give a toss about it, you snake bastard?’ Treville thought.
being alive can be so lonely sometimes (but i'm glad to have met you)
Five minutes before the alarm rings.
He squeezes his eyes shut before pressing the balls of his hands against the eyelids, feeling the deep-seated exhaustion in his bones, and gives himself exactly sixty seconds before getting up.
the promise
“Maybe I should write to my brother,” the Queen said uncertainly.
Treville did not want to be there. He did not want to discuss Richelieu’s future with his almost victim.
He wanted the make-shift council, Richelieu’s reckless and ludicrous plot to murder the Queen, he wanted all of it not to happen.
if you listen hard you will hear my breath
They came to him the next day asking to come back to Court.
"Cardinal..." Anne hesitated.
Richelieu looked at the window. He could bargain anything from her. The Queen had never been so weak and defeated. Powerless.
our disembodied state
He wakes up heaving for breath, his throat dry and raw.
“Here,” someone presses a glass to his chapped lips, and he drinks gratefully. “Oh, my dear Uncle, you gave us such a scare!”
The voice breaks and Richelieu opens his eyes.
détente
The rumours of the Queen Mother’s rapidly rising favourite had spread like wildfire, but Anne’s first meeting with him was purely accidental – she was walking with her ladies-in-waiting down a corridor of the Louvre and Concini and this Bishop stood in their way. Concini merely gave Anne and her consort a careless nod and walked round, but the cleric stopped, and bowed with a trick that took most courtiers years of practice: being quite tall he managed to look up.
no peace to the sword
In the Ninth Circle of Hell lie the traitors who betrayed those they held the closest, frozen in a lake of ice known as Cocytus. The icy hell of betrayal is the final result of consent to sin, the stage of being incapable of repentance.
night vale au
He returns in the early morning. Even though he’s never been here before. The town greets him with breezy wind and a salty drizzle of water down the collar of his jacket.
I like the one from ultima ratio the most, but I think it’s mostly because this fic is literally a lifetime project for me and I think so much about every line I write.
I might be wrong (and if anyone’s even remotely interested in this post, lmao, let me know). But when I say when I’m not a ficwriter, I’m like... I mean it? My main output are fanvideos, so I work with visuals and audio.
So I feel like my first lines are very visual, setting up a scene like a first frame of a movie or something? And I also care about how the sentences sound, so when you read them inside your head there’s still a cadence to them. But I might be completely bullshitting this, because I feel like it, but it’s not necessarily how my fics are perceived.
Also I’m incapable of writing short sentences or anything short in general, but I attribute that to Russian being my first language and me being traumatised by Leo Tolstoy in high school.
@hobfilm @heyholmesletsgo - yas let’s go (only if ya want) bc thiswaycomessomethingwicked tagged all my writer friends too! coz we are all friends!
I have followers & mutuals who may be writers and I’m unaware of it so if you want to do it please consider yourselves tagged!

1-50 do it if you dare
ohoho challenge accepted
(also i love you omg how did you know i love to talk about myself)
(most of them under the cut bc I don’t want everyone to hate me lol)
1.What made you start writing?
My teachers always said I was good at it and tbh I’ve always made up stories with like dolls or stuffed animals or whatever
2. How old were you when you started writing?
I was 12 when I started my first novel (and that’s still the only novel I’ve ever finished, how about that)
3. What was the first story you ever wrote about?
That first novel is what I’ll count, it was basically self-insert Merlin fanfiction before I knew what fanfiction was, and I changed all the names so nobody would be any the wiser
4. What’s your favorite genre?
I’m really into modern fantasy at the moment, like anything mystical set in modern day I love
5. What’s your least favorite genre?
I can’t do hard sci-fi, I wish I could but it’s too much for me
6. What’s your biggest strength as a writer?
Probably dialogue? I write a lot of scripts where dialogue is the only thing that really matters so I work on that the most
7. What’s your biggest weakness as a writer?
SETTING DESCRIPTIONS nobody knows what anything looks like anywhere and I’m so sorry
8. What writing projects are you currently working on?
I’m waiting for NaNo to start so I can get working on They Met in a Cafe, which is about an art thief who falls in love with the journalist who’s been writing about him
9. Who’s your favorite author?
I think I have to say Tolkien, he was just so iconic
10. Who’s your least favorite author?
Cassandra Clare.
11. What’s your favorite book?
The Professionals by Owen Laukkanen (it’s so good)
12. What’s your least favorite book?
This book called Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie, it took me so long to read and it wanted to be Game of Thrones so badly but it just wasn’t
13. What’s your favorite trope?
MUTUAL PINING (gets me every time)
14. What’s your least favorite trope?
Enemies to lovers (unless done really well) doesn’t always sit well with me, but I know that’s a popular one on here
15. Have you ever gotten anything published?
I don’t think so lol writing is very much just a hobby for me
16. Do you prefer to type or write by hand?
Type, I can write much faster and closer to the speed of my thoughts lol
17. What’s your favorite literary magazine?
I uh…don’t have one
18. Are there any topics you don’t feel comfortable writing about?
Yeahhh nothing too graphic (in terms of torture, sex, death, etc.) I keep it fairly PG-13 except for swearing haha
19. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Literally everywhere, I’ve never had an original thought in my life
20. Do you prefer to write fiction or poetry?
Fiction, I am so bad at writing poetry
21. How long is the stuff you usually write?
Usually I give up around 15-20k into a story, which is unfortunate
22. How do you deal with writer’s block?
I either take a break from writing as long as I can, or I outline the scene as best as I can until I start getting ideas for how to write the actual scene
23. Have you ever taken any creative writing classes?
None specifically dedicated to creative writing, just the general high school ones
24. Which of your characters has the most in common with you?
Of my current characters, definitely Cam from Descendants of the Earth, he is so soft and loves his friends so much and that’s just me af
25. Who is your favorite character you’ve written about?
I loved my character Colin from my first novel, Stay True, writing him just made me really happy (I think because at the time I was obsessed with Merlin, and he was the Merlin in my story lol)
26. Who is your favorite fictional character in general?
I would die for Samwise Gamgee but he would never let me
27. What time of day do you usually write?
I’m trying to get in the habit of writing in the morning on the bus, but it’s usually in the evening when I should be doing homework
28. How much planning and/or research do you do before you start writing?
Usually none at all, I just make stuff up, but for Cafe I’m actually doing a lot of research bc art history is fascinating and I want to represent cystic fibrosis accurately
29. What writing related accomplishment are you the most proud of?
I think the fact that I actually won NaNo last year while also being a college student
30. Have you ever dreamt about your characters?
No but I wish I could omg
31. What is your ideal writing environment?
In my bed, under a blanket, computer on my lap, nobody else in the house bothering me haha
32. Which published book do you wish you had written?
The Forbidden Game (by L.J. Smith), that book influenced my writing style so much and I love it a lot
33. Which themes do you like to write about the most?
I think I do a lot of found family/ragtag group of friends stuff, and happy endings for everyone who deserves one
34. What is the best advice you have for a beginning writer?
Literally just write. And it will suck and you won’t like to read it. But it’s so much fun if you just do what you love and enjoy it while it’s happening.
35. What is the worst writing advice you’ve ever heard?
Idk I try to avoid most writing advice, probably just anything that says “never” write something in particular because like….that’s ridiculous
36. Do you prefer pens or pencils?
Pens! I worry about pencil smearing.
37. What traits do your protagonists usually have?
They’re usually stale cinnamon rolls, like they used to be so happy and pure and now they’re cynical and tired. And everyone is so sarcastic, because thats how I am
38. What is your ultimate writing goal?
I would love to be traditionally published someday, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon if ever
39. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever written about?
The weirdest thing I actually tried to turn into a full novel was this series about a group of girls who each had different supernatural things happen to them (one was selected to be a fairy princess, one had the power to manipulate fate, one was the daughter of Hades, and one could go back in time)
That actually sounds really cool summed up like that but…it was middle school, it was not good
40. What is the most random fact you’ve ever learned while doing research for a story?
I just recently learned that having cystic fibrosis makes your skin taste salty, so that’s a thing
41. What would you do if you were suddenly teleported into your WIP?
Hug the heck outta Leo (he needs all the hugs) and also try to join the heist crew lol
42. How many drafts do you usually go through before you finish a piece?
One and a half, I’ve never edited a damn thing in my life lol but I do usually do a read-through after it’s finished and fix some things that I don’t like before calling it good
43. Has your writing ever made you cry?
Not as such, but I’ve made myself really sad while writing Voice of Treason (which is a feature film, not a novel)
44. Would you rather have your WIP adapted into a movie or TV show?
Lol well since Cafe is based on a book within a movie I produced, I have to say that I’d want it made into a movie
It would also make a good movie tbh
45. Where do you share your writing?
Only on here, and I post finished (or close to finished) things on Wattpad
46. What’s your favorite line of your current WIP?
Well I’ve only got the one small section so far, but I really like this line.
She laughed softly, her warm, coffee-stained breath fanning across his face.
47. What’s the first sentence of your WIP?
Currently it’s “Leo nervously slid into the coffee shop, glancing behind him” but that’s subject to change once NaNo starts
48. What’s the last sentence you wrote?
It was actually for DotE, and it was “Logan watched and laughed, grateful to be invited into the fun despite declining the offer.”
49. What inspired you to write your WIP?
This is actually my favorite question. So I worked on this movie two years ago with these dumb guys, and within the movie there was the character of this writer girl, and she was writing a book called “They Met in a Cafe” and throughout the movie you see her acting out these scenes from the book with her imagination, which takes the form of this cute guy (it was not a good movie lol)
Anyway I decided to take those scenes and basically write the book that she was trying to write in the film, but I’m gonna make it make sense and it’s gonna be so good (hopefully)
50. What’s your favorite thing about your WIP?
I love the whole concept of it, it really just appeals to my silly romantic sensibilities as well as my fascination with art and history in general, I just think it’s really fun
THANK YOU FOR ALL THESE QUESTIONS!! I literally love talking about myself so much and I was in such a bad mood bc my roommate has people over but this made me feel so much better so thank you

Here’s where he meets Prince Charming [SeungChuChu Scenes]
I was talking with @yuuriandviktorr and I let it slip that SeungChuChu were supposed to be part of the story Here’s where he meets Prince Charing [Day 3-5 for Leoji week], and, well... she was dissapointed that I didn’t add them. (I don’t even know why I didn’t post them in the story, but oh well) So I decided to tidy up the two missing scenes and drop them on Tumblr. The two deleted scenes play shortly after the events of the original fic. Read more under the cut
"Do they think they're subtle?" Yuuri questioning, eyeing the two love-birds from a safe distance. "Or am I seeing things that aren't there?"
Phichit threw a glance at Leo and Guang Hong, one eyebrow raised in only mild amusement. "I think they think they're subtle," Phichit said. "Though they probably don't realise that they aren't subtle, at all. Even Seung-gil noticed."
The medical student offered Phichit a nasty glare, which had, without much surprise, little to no impact on Phichit. "Even a blind man would notice," Seung-gil muttered, stabbing his food with more vigour than what was necessary.
Eyeing his two friends- the two that weren't dating- Yuuri wondered if he was just dense. He knew Seung-gil likes Phichit, in a somewhat romantic way, but the latter had been very indifferent about dating anyone- including Seung-gil. Who had time for dating if there were college, parties and weekly game nights to attend to?
"Though, my question still stands, how do they even think that they're subtle?" Phichit shrugged, and Seung-gil rolled his eyes. "They're literally holding hands. I caught them kissing each other goodbye just this morning when they headed to their morning classes, being all grossly sappy and stuff."
Phichit pulled his face into one filled with exaggerated disgust. "Don't ask me- I'm pretty sure Guang Hong doesn't even live in his own apartment anymore- Leo refuses to pick me up anymore when we start at the same time- probably because he wants to snog Guang Hong ins his car."
Seung-gil stared at Phichit with annoyance. "Why do you have to make everything British? Why can't you say 'make out' or something like that?"
Clutching his heart in faked-offence, Phichit muttered a 'how dare you'.
"Because it's stupid- this isn't Harry Potter in which they all talk British, or Sherlock, or Merlin, or Doctor Who or whatever show you're currently into."
Both Seung-gil and Yuuri were taken aback by Phichit's almost blinding smile. Seung-gil because he didn't saw it coming and Yuuri because he felt like a moron. How had he not noticed Seung-gil trying to flirt with Phichit? Trying the key word here as Seung-gil was a terrible flirt. He had realised Seung-gil likes Phichit, but the last thing he expected was Seung-gil acting on those feelings.
"You know which shows I'm into," Phichit said gleefully, causing Seung-gil to grow flustered.
"Of course I do," Seung-gil stuck his nose up the air, trying to act all high-and-mighty. "You talk about them non-stop."
And this was Yuuri's cue to leave. He loved Phichit dearly- really, but he refused to sit there and listen during his entire lunch break about how brilliantly written Sherlock was. He had endured too much already, even if the show was well written.
~*~
"Guys," Yuuri nudged Leo's leg under the table, forcing the older brunet to look up. Guang Hong followed soon, eyes set in curiosity. "It could be just me, but what's going on between Seung-gil and Phichit?"
The two lovebirds shared a look Yuuri couldn't decipher, and their answer was exactly the same, at the same time. It was like they suddenly shared a telepathic bond now they got together. Maybe they did share a telepathic bond, and this had become one of those cheesy soulmate rom-com that you could read the thoughts of your significant other.
"They're pining, obviously," they answered at the same time, both blinking in surprise.
The two of them shared a sweet smile, and Yuuri understood what third-wheeling felt like. What if Seung-gil and Phichit actually got together? He would be fifth-wheeling, but no-one to turn to because everyone expects him were dating. How the tables had turned- now it seemed that he was the main character in a low-budget, sad rom-com in which everyone found happiness expect him.
"So I am not turning delusional?" Yuuri asked, hoping that they wouldn't answer it at the same time, again.
"Doubt it," Guang Hong said, a shy smile on his lips. "I mean- Seung-gil has been extra salty of lately, glaring at everyone that even comes remotely close to Phichit."
Leo chimed in, smiling lazily. "And Phichit has been surprisingly touchy-feeling with Seung-gil- even more than with you."
Yuuri had to admit that indeed, Phichit had held back on most of the personal contact with him. Nowadays, Phichit spends more time draped over Seung-gil's shoulders or curled up at his side than he had ever done with Yuuri.
"I'm not ready for this," Yuuri moaned, burying his face in his hands- as far as that was possible with glasses. "I though the two of you already had been bad," both brunets grew flustered and protested, but Yuuri plainly ignored them. "But this is going to be possible- Seung-gil is a terrible flirt, and Phichit is dense- every dense."
"Phichit is dense?" Leo questioned, looking genuinely confused.
"Leo, he didn't realise you, and Guang Hong lived next to each other while he had both of your addresses," Yuuri pointed out, already feeling embarrassed talking about it. "He was thinking you like two different people- your neighbour and Guang Hong."
Guang Hong gave Leo a curious look, which resulted in Leo growing flustered. "Fair point," Leo muttered, deliberately avoiding eye-contact with Guang Hong. So Leo hadn't talked about his 'two' crushed- though, Yuuri suspected Guang Hong hadn't talked about it either, which probably would result in a very interesting subject for upcoming dinner between the two of them.
“But, considering that they actually do like each other- at least I assume, Phichit is unreadable,” Guang Hong received a confused look from Leo.
“What do you mean, easy readable?” Leo asked, brows furrowed. “I find Phichit very easy to read. Seung-gil, on the other hand,” he made a confused hand-gesture.
The younger brunet blinked owlish, starting quietly to his boyfriend. For a brief moment, Yuuri even wondered if they even realise he was still there- he almost assumed the answer was ‘no’ to that. He was most definitely going to be fifth-wheeling once Phichit and Seung-gil got together.
“So, if you can Seung-gil well,” Guang Hong nodded excitedly. “And I can read Phichit well... we could act like cupids, bringing them together.”
Excited, Guang Hong started to gesture wildly, a bright smile on his face. “We just have to make them realise they like each other.”
A small pause fell, both of the brunets' eyes lit up at the same time. “That’s how you know,” they said simultaneously. “Now all we need is a co-ordinated dance, Amy Adams and the perfect mood.”
Yuuri started at his friends in amazement. He barely could believe them- they thought re-creating a Disney scene would bring Phichit and Seung-gil together? It probably would take a small miracle to get the two of them together. On the other hand, it was the ‘Disney magic’ that brought Leo and Guang Hong together.

god arthur pisses me off so much. not bc he’s an asshole or whatever; bc the writers somehow managed to make a character and then not write him & i loathe the fact that it is so stupid it’s awe-inspiring

honestly canon arthur is less of a character and more of a vague stir-fry of princely traits ranging from positive to negative as the plot demands spice and that’s why i can’t bring myself to hate him despite how he’s an ass sometimes in the show. he hardly has his own coherent character due to how poorly he’s written, and the character he does have is mostly just an archetype vacant of any real provocative, thoughtful intention. and this isn’t to say he lacks good moments in the show, but those moments of princely nobility or honor or kindness still only stoke the archetype without really filling it in. he’s just prince/king arthur and that’s somehow meant to carry the weight of a fully realized character on its own.
#which means i can hardly hate him or how he's written#since he's hardly a character#and hardly even /written/#from op#leo is salty about merlin#they did this with uther as well#and morgana#but it was either anthony head's acting#or one of the writers actually knew something#bc uther comes across as an actual character#a really really good one#vs arthur#and vs morgana#who just reads as scattered and unpolished#and also hollowly archetypal (just in a messy undecided way)
