Sig Sauer Rose

I had heard about this pistol a while back, but didn’t know much about it. It’s essentially a collaboration between Sig Sauer and the well-known professional shooter, Lena Miculek. Lena is the daughter of renowned shooter Jerry Miculek. Although I’m not sure how the conversation started between Sig and Lena or who came up with the idea, but in my opinion it’s a classy effort to help women get into shooting and self-defense. I’m married and have 2 grown daughters as well as 2 sisters. We all grew up shooting and understanding the meaning of self-defense. But many in today’s society were not afforded those ideals in their younger years. Many are curious, but not sure how to take that first step to becoming self-efficient at defending themselves with a firearm. Enter Sig Sauer and Lena Miculek.

Although my wife is a veteran shooter and concealed handgun permit holder, I showed this pistol to her. I could hardly explain what it was before she exclaimed that she wanted to purchase it. These were just released and came in stock at Brownells and I quickly scooped one up. In typical Brownells fashion, it arrived at my local FFL a few days later. I picked it up, brought it home and handed a nicely done cardboard box to my wife. The box itself has “Rose by Sig Sauer” on the front and looks something like a high quality women’s purse would come in. Inside of the box there’s quite a bit to unpack. Of course your normal literature and safety documents, but beyond that there are a host of items tailored to this bundle. The pistol itself is Sig’s super popular P365 XL Comp 9MM. There’s also a .380 version available for those that prefer it over the 9MM cartridge. It’s no ordinary P365 XL comp, it has the rose logo, rose gold controls, Sig night sights and even a rose textured grip. Also in the box is a Sig rose Vaultek personal handgun vault, 2 12 round magazines, a magazine loader as well as a bag of dummy rounds for practicing.

So you might be asking where exactly does Lena Miculek fit in to this collaboration? Well as much as she is a professional shooter, she’s a proponent of women self defense. She’s also a firearm’s instructor. So inside of the box, there’s a panel with a photo that breaks down and names the parts of the pistol and a card with a QR code. The QR code is used to access a variety of training by Lena designed around women and introducing them to self defense and shooting. I believe that her training will be valuable whether you’re just getting into shooting and self defense or you’re a 40 year veteran. No matter how much we know, there’s always the room and capacity to grow our knowledge and experience further. Sig and Lena aim to open this door with their new collaboration. Really looking forward to seeing my wife continue her quest for firearms knowledge as provided by Sig and Lena.
