Mikael Jostad

Mikael is the lead singer of Lemon Shark and occasional rhythm guitarist. He moved to Florida with his mother at 10 from Norway. He became friends with Mickey surprisingly quickly and the two consider one another siblings. Mikael often stays with Mickey due to his tumultuous relationship with his mother. He shows little interest in school and prefers to focus on music which reflects in his grades which are also affected by his home-life.

Mikael is aware of his birth father’s identity but shows no interest in reconnecting with him even when the opportunity is presented.

He presents himself as confident but this seems to be a mask he puts on when others show concern over his home-life. Mikael can be extremely sarcastic and aloof but seems to hold genuine care for the band and Mickey’s grandparents.

Regina “Reggie” Remmer

Reggie is the bassist and back up singer of Lemon Shark. She had moved around most of her childhood until her parents divorce. After which she and her mother moved in with her grandparents and have stayed since. Reggie and Mickey met through sitting at the same lunch table and eventually bonding over music after Reggie finally prompted conversation. Reggie’s grandfather taught her the bass guitar and she performs in her school Jazz band in addition to Lemon Shark.

Reggie is close with her family and talks highly of them including her father despite the divorce. Because of her constant moving as a child, Reggie showed little interest in making friends and kept to herself prior to befriending Mickey and later Mikael. The three of them all have similar personalities and get along well though Reggie seems aware of the other twos closer friendship. Reggie has a similar sarcastic sense of humor to Mikael but is often viewed as the most approachable of the three prior to Gloria joining the group.

Mickey is the lead guitarist of Lemon Shark. Mickey lives with his grandparents for the most part due to his father’s less than child friendly career and lifestyle. Despite this, Mickey and Nathan are very close and talk often. Mickey is often referred to as a mini version of his father due to their many similarities. He showed no interest in meeting people outside of his family until befriending Mikael. Mickey is very passionate about the guitar as well as the ocean.

Prior to meeting Mikael, Mickey referred to his father as his best friend. Though he only seems to have positive relationships with the members of Dethklok, Mickey goes out of his way to deny any relation to his father at school. He struggles with social interaction and often becomes irritable when forced to engage with peers which is exasperated once people find out. Despite genuinely caring for his friend he still struggles managing his irritability at times and has snapped at them a few times though he later apologizes.

Gloria Hernandez

Gloria is the drummer of Lemon Shark as well as its newest member. Gloria is the middle child in a family of five and due to being overlooked by her parents at times she is extremely friendly. Gloria has tried her hand at every instrument after seeing her parents interest in her older brother’s talent for singing. She began her journey with music with piano before moving on to tuba and then becoming enamored with percussion upon joining marching band. Though she continued to keep expanding her skillset.

Gloria’s friendly nature makes it easy for her to get along with most of her peers though prior to meeting the members of Lemon Shark she didn’t have any she felt close to. Gloria attempted to befriend Mickey her freshmen year after noticing they shared multiple classes but due to her interest in his father’s band, Mickey rudely brushed her off. Despite this, Gloria continued her attempts at befriending the other though she only really seemed to be accepted after befriending Mikael.

Despite their rocky start, Mickey and Gloria have since become real friends and have a shared respect for one another another’s passion for music.

Mickey 🍌 Have parts of your OC been lost to time (in-universe)? What do they wish they could lose from themselves?

The older Mickey gets the more he begins to feel disconnected from his dad. They have a positive relationship but at times he misses just how close they were when he was little. I think Mickey can be pretty self conscious about how quick he is to boil over. He’s pretty sensitive to stressors and especially in his teenage years he has a problem with managing his frustration.

Gloria 🍐 What is their current social standing? If they could change it, would they, and to what?

Gloria’s always blended into the background despite her near constant attempts to stand out. Pre Lemon Sharks she would have killed to be popular believing she’d finally have friends/be seen. Post Sharks she still wants people to like her AND the band but she’s significantly happier knowing no matter what she at least has the sharks.

Mika 🍑 How do they show their kindness? How kind are they truly?

Mika is kind of bad at expressing affection. His attempts at comfort tend to come off as sarcastic or mocking (Similar to his MAMA) he’s also not super great when people express lots of emotion at him. He doesn’t know how to entirely handle it. He typically tries distracting people with things he knows his friends/family like.

15. How do they comfort each other when the others upset?

Mickey will take Reggie to the batting cages and she'll go to town until she physically can't.

Reggie joins Mickey on long car rides where he blasts his music as loud as he can.

83. Who gets frustrated faster? How does the other calm them down?

Mickey gets frustrated the fastest of his friend group. Be it school, family issues, or just a bad day. When that sort of thing happens Reggie will either take him to an aquarium or the beach and just let him take his time.
