We’ve decided to go ahead and expand with the tropical - or Valdirian - lekkir right away. Valdirian lekkir will have ventured to the Hasseran region from distant rainforest or otherwise tropical regions through the land bridges in the world or by stow-away on a Mozzen vessel. They are outcasts, orphans, vagabonds, or adventurers and will not have been born in this land. Winters will be hard for them, and will likely require fashioning some form of winter cover.

The Lekkir

Did I forget to mention? The lekkir templates are complete! Here’s a little tidbit about each of the two playable species and their color possibilities.

Up next are the distant, tool-using, furred cousins of the aershaa, the lekkir. This specifically is the grassland, or Hassavanian lekkir, with short body fur, long tail fur, and standing about 10in (25cm) in height, 20in (50cm) in length, and body-length tails. Females are larger than males, usually by 2-3 inches and a few pounds. Grassland lekkir live in medium to large clans consisting of multiple large families. Unlike the feral aershaa, they live in a societal structure based on crafting, tradeskills, and semi-formal education. Their dwellings are composed of intricate burrow systems made either in clay or beneath tree-roots, with interconnected burrows for sleeping, meeting, crafting, kit-care, and other communal needs. A clan is lead by a matriarchal female figure and 2-4 assisting females in a council.

Lekkir have names of their native tongue that have 1 - 3 breaks (S’vahalios’et, Drax’im’ia, As’liir) or common-tongue translations (Bright Pelt, Running Wind, Black Flame, Runs With a Dream). ((To get around that, lekkir can also be named for plants and animals, so if you want a high fantasy name, you can create a plant or animal to base it off of.))

The Lekkir

(The concept of the lekkir has been merged with the old world draians.) Lekkir are tool users, medicine folk, and find themselves in between a feral and a morphic culture. Their magic relies on complex spellwork and use of materials, things like stones, herbs, bones, and other things. Magic skill is widely varied and requires years of study under a master. They have significantly longer lifespans than the aershaa, thanks in part to their understandings of medicine and disease. There are old tales of them coexisting side by side with the aershaa, but have since become protective of their own kind, separate and secluded in densely forested lands, abandoned Mozz structures, and other areas that otherwise drive fear into the minds of passers-by.

The Races - An Overview

In October, I’d been dreaming almost every night about a new Dreyrull. Not a veto or a change of the old Dreyrull, but a parallel world. In this world there are no humans, and the aershaa have evolved without interference. 1 genus, 5 species: Fyren, Aquen, Rotoss, Lumen, and Drex. They are a race of sapient ferals, sharing a world with two other sapient races: a distantly related race called the lekkir (mostly unchanged from the parallel Dreyrull), and a Morphic race on two legs called the Mozzken.

The Mozz live in villages and cities, while the aershaa and lekkir live in clans mostly comprised of their own species. Though there are occasional competitions for territory, these different races live separately and in harmony with the world. As their populations grow larger however, tensions will grow.

Eye blanks came in! They looked ridiculous before I set them in, had to take a shot. 🤣

Also a WIP before the eyes. I'm considering a new technique with the tail after not liking the textured look I was initially going for (already smoothed out).
