I really like the Coconuts Musume formation with Ayaka, Mika, Danielle and Lehua, I wish they had stayed with this formation until 2004 (when Mika left) then disbanded and Ayaka went solo.

Really? CoconutsM sold poorly so it’s ok for Momusu sales to flounder too? Coconuts was a niche group created as Makoto’s pet project at a time when ASANYAN wanted to expand the “Hello!Project” brand that was selling like hotcakes (hence the English b-side covers). Their “push” lasted all of 1 summer (back to back singles). Once UFA realized they weren’t the next Golden Half, they released 3 singles in 2 years after that. Mika survived 5 years because of MiniMoni and Ayaka lasted 9 years because of her MC abilities but you can absolutely bet that if they were H!P’s main moneymakers and were selling that low, they’d have been canned. MM’s sales are ok for the foreseeable future (albeit inflated by HSE) but sales have resumed their long-term pattern of dropping after a temporary rise at the start of Colorful Era. Let’s enjoy H!P while we have it, there’s no guarantee it’ll be here 10 years from now.
