Rewatched 'Moon the Undaunted" quick, have added "coerced confession" to the list of things used to frame Toffee in my little AU, I am prone to revising it further upon acquisition of the Magic Book of Spells.
Toffee manages to negotiate a decent treaty, he still isn't thrilled with it and doesn't trust the Butterflys, but hey, maybe something good will come of this.
Right before the treaty is to be signed, Rhombulus and Lehkmet get Toffee alone with no one knowing the three are together. Meanwhile, a member of the commission, royal court, or royal family carries out the assassination.
Initial plan was to seal Toffee in crystals and say he was caught in the act, but they don't manage it and decide to go along with a fake investigation with a predetermined outcome. Upon learning of Queen Comet's death, Toffee figures out what's going on and gets the hell out of dodge, alerting his men in preparation for war.
The king of monsters may be aware Toffee's innocent and coerced into a confession, or convinced by circumstantial or fake evidence, and then coerced into a confession.
The magic high commission's purpose in doing this is two fold, prevent the revised peace treaty from going through and finally get Toffee out of their hair. Goal one was successful, goal two failed.

So in case I haven’t made it clear I was not happy with the finale of Star vs. the Forces of Evil last year, especially the resolution they made for the Magical High Commission. Made a tiny rewrite redemption arc that made their oblideration and the cleaving of Mewni and earth a little more tolerable for me:
Omnitraxus, Hekapoo*, and Rhombulus are enjoying their pizza party when they check back in through the globe to see how Moon is along with putting Eclipsa Mina in her place. They tune into the sight of Mina and the Solarian warriors about to kill the monsters of Mewni and they immediately jump into action - Moon would never agree to this. Like Moon, Mina sees their reluctance to destroy all the monsters as weakness so she attacks Hekapoo, who then disappears in a poof. Omni and Rhombulus realize that the real Hekapoo has bailed and track her down to the Tavern at the End of the Multiverse.
The two of them just miss Star and Marco as the latter embark to the Realm of Magic. Omni and Rhombulus ask how Hekapoo could possibly be so okay with being whipped from existence. How could she turn her back on her sworn duty and obligation? What reason could she possibly have to want to destroy the dynasty they’ve been protecting for ages? Hekapoo gives one response - Festivia.
(A reminder that the MHC raised Festivia. They’re all obviously warped into thinking they did the right thing but regardless of how much they don’t care about Eclipsa or Meteora, wouldn’t it be a sad bit of fleshing out to see that they regret having to lie to this girl her whole life? The fact is The Magical High Commission think they are neutral like Glossaryk but in reality they are swayed by politics and that’s where the age of Magic has gone sour: when magic has been used to dictate who is who and why. The MHC were once important to the multiverse, but their time has come.)
- Cut to later in the episode - Same as before; Marco tries to fend off corrupted Tom and the dark unicorn with the wand while Star, Moon, and Eclipsa attempt to perform the whispering spell. BUT, when Marco gets impaled trying to get the pudding into Tom’s mouth, the wound is a lot more damning. Now Marco is down and Tom is defenseless against the angry dark unicorn. Then - ZAP - in comes Rhombulus, Hekapoo, and Omni who use their own magic to fend off the dark unicorn so that Tom can get Marco to safety. As they’re doing this, the queens of Mewni are managing to tap-in and call their ancestors for help, which is when another lost soul arrives from the nothing before Marco: Lehkmet, who uses his healing touch to cure Marco’s wound. Seeing their fallen friend reappear before their eyes to fight for Star’s cause is enough for Omnitraxus and Rhombulus to be convinced that they’re time is up. All three of them + Lehkmet’s spirit fend off the spirits with Marco and Tom’s help.
The Whispering Spell is complete, Glossaryk says his goodbyes and the rest of the commission hurry Star to get back through the Mewni well. - cue the rest of Cleaved say for one major change:
As Star and Marco run towards each other the entrance to Britta’s Taco’s becomes a crystal-lined cave. Star walks through it. Marco walks through it. On the walls of the cave are remnants of Star’s spells, lit up by flames, swords, and surrounded by brilliant crystals. They meet each other in the dead center. The cave is the remnant of magic, Glossaryk, and the Magical High commission. Mewni and Earth (and perhaps the other multiverse idk) have one last portal and in this way are officially cleaved together.

Inktober 2019 Day 26: Dark
was gonna do regular Eclipsa but remembered this Dark Ending AU I sketched a long way back. Like, imagine if the major threat for S4 was from a AU that escaped from Omnitraxius’ realm. In all honesty, the Magical High Commission were very underutilized (especially Lehkmet). Hekapoo was kept around because of waifu material, Rhombulous’ character development and relationship with Star was thrown away and Omnitraxius got nothing after his 1 episode...sigh...... I’ll fully color this later

I haven't watched yet but is trans marco dead? I've been kinda angry since they did the "bury your gays" with Lehkmet and I was hoping that even if they didn't outright confirm trans Marco they wouldn't deny it either. I'm really disappointed and feeling betrayed
It's not dead, it's just... bad.Like Marco gets to be a princess and everybody accepts them for it and there's messages about how you don't have to look ""cis"" to be a girl and whatnot. But it also gets a little too close to "trans women are men" for comfort and it was just really uncomfortable to watch.
