Experience the Vibrancy of Festivals Lehariya Kurti | Types of Lehariya Kurti
Gorgeous Rajasthani attire! Most of us know that Rajasthan is where leheriya salwar suits first appeared. This Indian state is where the word "Leher," which translates to "wave," first appeared. It was taken from Hindi. It has long been the practice. The Indian desert state of Rajasthan, which is well known for its rich cultural past, is where Lehariya Print first appeared.
The traditional method of tie-dying cloth practised in Rajasthan is known as "leheriya." The natural wave (leher) patterns created by the wind sweeping across the western Rajasthani desert dunes inspire its designs. The cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur serve as the main hubs for this Rajasthan-only craft.
Leheriya designs are inspired by the natural patterns of wind blowing across Rajasthan's desert dunes. The bird among the dots is an example of a motif that draws influence from nature. The fabric used to make Leheriya resist is exclusively tied by female craftspeople.
The cloth is dyed, folded diagonally, rolled, or folded like a fan, and then tied off at regular intervals to give it its characteristic stripe or chevron design. The fabric may now be rolled up, and the pattern can be tied.
Ethnic outfits are renowned for their adaptability and usually consist of a kurti or kurta, matching bottoms, and occasionally a dupatta. They're an excellent option for everyday wear because they can easily dress up or down. Ethnic ensembles offer a stylish and cosy option, whether doing errands, going to a casual lunch, or heading to the office.

Sawan Leheriya
Sawan Leheriya is a traditional Indian textile art that hails from the vibrant state of Rajasthan. The word "Leheriya" is derived from the Hindi word "leher," meaning wave, which perfectly describes the wave-like patterns that adorn these fabrics. Typically made from lightweight materials such as cotton or silk, Leheriya textiles are dyed using a unique resist-dyeing technique.
The process involves tightly rolling the fabric and tying it at intervals before dyeing it in bright, festive colours. When unrolled, the fabric reveals beautiful, diagonal stripes that resemble flowing waves. These colourful patterns are often associated with the monsoon season, celebrating the joy and renewal that the rains bring.
Sawan Leheriya is especially popular during the Teej festival, where women don these vibrant sarees, dupattas, and turbans. The dynamic patterns and lively colours embody the spirit of the season, adding a touch of cultural heritage and festivity to any wardrobe. Whether worn for traditional celebrations or styled with contemporary outfits, Sawan Leheriya brings a splash of Rajasthani tradition and a burst of colour to every occasion.

Crafting Your Style Symphony: The Allure of Unstitched Suit Fabrics
In the world of ethnic fashion, the realm of unstitched suits stands as a canvas of endless possibilities, allowing wearers to weave their unique style symphony. From the artistry of hand-printed suits to the regal allure of Gota Patti and the vibrant swirls of Leheriya, each unstitched fabric unfolds a tale of craftsmanship and individual expression. Let's embark on a journey through the allure of unstitched suit fabrics, where the beauty lies in the art of personalization.
Unstitched Suits: A Blank Canvas for Personal Style
The Freedom to Customise:
Unstitched suits represent the epitome of customization, providing wearers with the freedom to craft an ensemble that aligns perfectly with their personal style. The unstitched format, comprising separate pieces for the kameez, salwar, and dupatta, invites individuals to tailor the outfit to their unique preferences, ensuring a perfect fit and a distinctive look.
Hand-Printed Suits: Artistry in Every Stroke
The Art of Hand Block Printing:
Hand-printed suits showcase the timeless art of hand block printing, a traditional technique where skilled artisans carve intricate designs onto wooden blocks and transfer them onto the fabric. The result is a symphony of patterns, from delicate florals to geometric motifs, creating a visual masterpiece on the fabric.
Charm in Simplicity:
Hand-printed suits often embody a charm in simplicity. The subtle imperfections inherent in hand block printing add character and uniqueness to each piece, making it a celebration of artisanal craftsmanship. The gentle touch of human hands gives the fabric a distinct, handmade allure.
Gota Patti Suits: Royalty in Embellishments
The Regal Splendor of Gota Patti:
Gota Patti suits exude a regal charm with their intricate embellishments. Originating from Rajasthan, Gota Patti involves attaching thin ribbons of gold or silver to the fabric to create ornate patterns. The result is a dazzling play of metallic accents, adding opulence and grandeur to the unstitched suit.
Perfect for Celebrations:
Gota Patti suits are often favoured for celebratory occasions, weddings, and festivities. The elaborate embellishments make them a symbol of luxury and are a popular choice for those seeking a touch of royalty in their ethnic wardrobe.
Leheriya Suits: Whirls of Colourful Elegance
The Art of Tie-Dye:
Leheriya suits showcase the vibrant art of tie-dye, where the fabric is skillfully folded and tied before dyeing, creating distinct, diagonal stripes. Originating from the colourful land of Rajasthan, Leheriya suits are a celebration of bright hues and swirling patterns that capture the essence of traditional Rajasthani craftsmanship.
Versatility in Style:
Leheriya suits bring a burst of colour to any wardrobe, and their versatility allows them to be styled for various occasions. Whether it's a casual gathering or a festive celebration, the playful patterns of Leheriya make a bold statement.
Crafting Your Style Symphony: Styling Tips
Mix and Match Patterns:
Experiment with mixing and matching patterns to create a personalised ensemble. Combine hand-printed kameez with Leheriya salwar or pair Gota Patti dupatta with a solid-coloured suit for a balanced look.
Accessorize Thoughtfully:
Adorn your unstitched suit with the right accessories. For hand-printed suits, consider simple, traditional jewellery. Gota Patti suits can be complemented with heavier jewellery to enhance the regal appeal, while Leheriya suits allow for playful, colourful accessories.
Hairstyle Matters:
Choose a hairstyle that complements the overall look. For Gota Patti suits, an elegant updo can highlight the embellishments, while loose waves or braids can add a bohemian touch to Leheriya suits.
Conclusion: Weaving Your Style Legacy
Unstitched suit fabrics are not just garments; they are an embodiment of heritage, craftsmanship, and the art of personalization. As you delve into the world of hand-printed elegance, the regal allure of Gota Patti, or the vibrant whirls of Leheriya, remember that each piece carries a story waiting to be woven into your personal style symphony. Craft your ensemble, celebrate your uniqueness, and let the allure of unstitched suits be the canvas for your sartorial masterpiece.

The handmade art made with love
The most vibrant of colours and beautifully made products by hand found in rajasthan had caught my eyes during the summer of this year. The use of these colours has been here for ages and now have come to fashion industry once again with a new enhanced trendy look.
Rajasthan is known for its textile industry and how this art has been passed down to generations from decades. I decided to take the handloom from here as it has the most unique way of handling fabric with different methods which are the most authentic handicraft skill in this age.
Its very fascinating of how the artisans here have a sharp eye for fine details with incredible precision of how to mould a simple fabric to a beautiful product.
There are different kind of handloom arts present in this state of India.
The use of tie-dye has been used here for a long time and is the most worn type of pattern here. BANDHANI is one of the type in which a cloth is decored by plucking it with fingernails in different shapes and forms giving it a figurative design. It comes in sarees , dupattas, dress materials which after worn enhances the look of the dress. the colours of these dresses are mostly contrast.
There are emotions behind every form of art piece, every design in a bandhani cloth shows one's feeelings at that moment, like red represents a bride ,for yellow represents maternity.
Every design is made with pure form of love and respect for the technique which has been used for over 5000 years now.
LEHERIYA is also a very well known design in rajasthan which is inspired fron the word 'waves' that is the wave type layers which are seen on the sand in the dessert areas. the zig-zag patterns or irregular stripes or waves holds one captivated in its unique look and appear visually fluid. This type of design typically went trendy due to it giving a very mordern look.
These lovely patterns are made with resist-dyeing technique with certain where certain parts of the fabric maintain the original form where the others arrest the hues applied.
These traditional methods maintain the heritage styles of dyeing and are also sustaible or eco-friendly.
Handblock print is one of the most commonly worn prints in jodhpur rajasthan. It is made by carving diffrent motifs on a piece of a wood which is then painted and pasted on a cloth in a particular way .
It usually has intricate yet sober designs which gives the particular cloth a richer look and is also something can can be worn casually for outings or even festive fuctions.
Block prints shirts , kurtis are casual wear for the people living here and is one of the best classic outfits.
Shisha work famous in both Rajasthan and Gujarat, usually worn during festive season and weddings. It is made by sewing small pieces of mirror to a piece of cloth in different type of patterns. The mirror pieces are cut into different shapes depending on what design one wants to create.
It is also used in different decorative items like pillow cases, carpets, small sofa covers and so on, this type of work is famous all over India and is also found in some other countries to.
These material dresses need a lot of care as they could get ruined easily, but the look they serve after worn by one is just priceless!
JUTTI , they have been a part of Indian culture for decades and have still evolved to abetter version of itself according to the changes happenning over the years.
They are either pointed near the toe or are curved or are m shaped, these jutti's are made in such a way that the colour combinations of any jutti are easily paired with any type of ethnic or indo-western clothing.
Usually jutti's come in two to three types of materials, most common are leather, rexine, taiwanese sheet ,where. the leather jutti's are the most preffered one's from my experience as they last longer compared to the others materials, the only backlog you could face with a artificial leather jutti is that the odour at the start of its use is a little irritable.
THESE ARE SOME OF THE CREATIVE AND BEAUTIFUL HANDLOOMS FOUND IN RAJASTHAN , AND I SAY THAT EXPLORING THESE WAS VERY FUN AND INTERESTING!
