My Familiarâs Ghost part 18
Masterpost
(ID in alt and under cut)
ID: 1a. Slanted panel in red, showing Nadja holding up her taxidermy armadillo and looking at it with a thoughtful frown. Below her, Dolly studies a taxidermy possum with a similar expression. 1b. Slanted panel in green, showing Laszlo slumped over a table and leaning on his fist, reading from "An Un-Erotic Guide to the Undead." He is wearing half moon reading glasses and looks less bored than he's acting. 1c. Slanted panel of Colin walking down the stairs to the basement, shrugging off his coat. 1d. Close up of Colin as he enters his room and looks up in surprise. 1e. Reverse shot of the room over Colin's shoulder. The desktop computer on his desk has been pushed back in favor of Guillermo's laptop, which is open to YouTube. 1f. Over the other panels stands Nandor, looking sad and contemplative as he reaches for the bloody stake in his side. 1g. Close up of the laptop on Colin's room, showing a paused YouTube video titled "LEGO - Clone Wars Review + Knoll" by 'Colin_Knoll$.' There is a comment by Guillermo_theDestroyer98 that says "awesome job bud!" and multiple similar videos in the sidebar. Offscreen, Colin muses "Knolling, huh?" 1h. Reverse shot, close up on Colin ominously lit by the laptop as he tilts it back to get a better look, eyebrow raised with a frown. He continues, "Sounds like it could be irritating to talk about..."
2a. A long stretch of black before we see ghost Guillermo, seemingly under the house, floating in a chaotic swirl of his own ghostly light. His eyes are wide with shock and confusion as tears roll freely down his cheeks, hands hovering palm up in front of him. 2b. Close up as Guillermo lifts his shaking hands to stare at them in horror, more tears dripping from his chin. The light around him starts to whip and stretch upwards like fire, the black shadow returning in small shreds that coalesce around his head and shoulders. 2c. Zoom out, Guillermo buries his face in his hands with a sob. His glow burns and stretches up and up to twice his height, tendrils flailing like a kraken. Within it, the dark shadow pulls itself together in a looming cloak-like shape that arches ominously over Guillermo's shaking back.
3a. Exterior shot of the house as it shakes violently, bright blue light flooding out from every window. 3b. Repeat; it all stops suddenly. With a whine of dying electricity, the house goes completely dark and still. /end ID

Buffy: What are you doing here? Willow: What are you doing here? Buffy: Well, I'm patrolling! Willow: Buffy, you're sick. Buffy: No, I feel fine. I mean, I'm... the world's spinning a little bit, but I like it, it's kinda like a ride. Cordelia: Half the school's out with this flu. It's a serious deal, Buffy. We're all concerned about how gross you look. Buffy: I'm touched. Really. But I have work to do. Willow: Buffy, come on, one night of rest is not gonna kill you. Buffy: No, but it might kill somebody else.

LOZ: Tank Femme Fatale
First set I received of my recent first splurge with LOZ mini bricks. For LOZ Facts, Proâs, and Conâs click here.
So how could I say no to an ADORABLE little tank in pastel colours with hearts and bows. My pastel goth heart just clicked BUY instantly. I got the Teal and yellow version, but it also comes in Pink and Purple. This set cost me $20 CAD.
After waiting two and a half weeks for them to arrive, here they be!
Building: Instructions are coloured on glossy paper. I like these sets come with a resealable bag and the instructions include counts of how many blocks in each step. I had SO MUCH FUN putting this together, even the figgly part of the tread (WHICH WORKS!).
Final Product: Colours are vibrant, bricks are good quality and snap together really well. The use of parts was inventive, and my tank of adorable doom is ready to make a hostile take over of my heart.
Play-ability: YES! This tank isnât going to fall apart because you look at it to intently, and they do indeed move! LOTS!
Lid opens
Turret muzzle goes up and down
Mudflaps go up and down
Side breaks go down
Stabilizers in back rise up to stop turret from moving
Pink flags move back and forth
Turret moves 360 degrees including hidden crank
AND YES! The treads work! Just not on smooth surfaces
On the battlefield looking for TERFâs to destroy:
NYOOO~~oom: On my way to wreck your BS!
Final: Super cute, super fun to build, and fun to play with after also! Fantastic set and I will be looking in to more vehicles and interactive sets by LOZ in the future!

Toys That Make Great Gifts
Regardless of age, we all love toys! Some toys are made just for children, but others are appropriate for a variety of ages. Collectors love toys like Barbies, Matchbox Cars, Legos, and more.
Over the years, I have reviewed a lot of toys on several different websites. Some I gave as gifts, others are collectibles that I, myself, collect. Of course, I enjoy giving collectible toys to otherâŚ

ALBUM REVIEW: AJR â Neotheater
In the opening track to AJRâs Neotheater, lead singer Jack Met sings about the bandâs fear of reaching their peak and wanting to stay ââŚnext up forever.â While that may be an honest anxiety for artists to have in todayâs music world, AJR has nothing to fear. Fresh off of the success of their second studio record, The Click (2017), AJR (comprised of Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met) seemed to reach their peak creating one of the best alt pop records ever. But with Neotheater, the band surpassed all expectations in the best way possible. Neotheater took a different direction from all their previous works, diving into the minds of all three brothers and commenting on things happening in the world today. As said in a recent Instagram post made by the band, âTo anyone who writes to us saying stuff like âstick to music, stay out of politicsâŚâ we write our truth.â I believe that statement sums up the beauty of their newest album.
Neotheater takes a personal approach when it comes to lyrics, discussing screw-ups members of the band had in the past and the uncertainty of growing up. Their previous two albums had more upbeat party songs like âWeak,â which was an anthem about owning your insecurities and not caring about what others think. Neotheater feels like a theatrical production, with an intro track full of soaring violins and hard-hitting drums, and a finale that sounds like the perfect end to a Broadway show. Throughout the entire 44 minutes, listeners are shown that everyone has their own problems and no matter how big or how small, they affect every individual differently. While this entire album is brilliant from start to end, I want to focus on three songs specifically: âDonât Throw Out My Legos,â âThe Entertainmentâs Here,â and âDear Winter.â I previously wrote reviews on the albumâs two lead singles â100 Bad Daysâ and âBirthday Partyâ that you can check out here.
âDonât Throw Out My Legosâ is the fourth track on the album and talks about something that really hit home with me and most likely with all college students listening. The song tackles the feeling of moving out of your childhood home and facing the world on your own for the first time. While most move out songs have lyrics centered around saying goodbye to friends and family, AJR talks about Legos. Specifically, Jack sings about their parents throwing out their Legos after they moved, symbolizing that they are not children anymore. To further capture that feeling, the song is full of glitched samples in the beginning, making the verses feel overwhelming and happy. But once the chorus comes around, the song shrinks down to just two voices in harmony and a piano. Itâs a powerful moment and made even more emotional with the lyric âCan we keep my Legos at home? / Cause I wanna move out / I donât wanna move on.â
The second song, âThe Entertainmentâs Here,â is almost an ode to the modern-day band. It acts as a nice emotional palate cleanser after a couple more personable and sad songs. The song is full of high hats and snares with a chorus of trumpets and miscellaneous sounds helping to fill the space. The pre-chorus has a brilliant moment where Jack sings, âIâve been thinking / That too much thinking / Can probably get me down.â These lyrics capture the feeling of slowly sinking into sadness but snapping back to reality, which is how the chorus quickly changes the mood from that moment in the song. Itâs one of my favorite parts about the band: their ability to sneak in clever wordplay and lyrical moments that can almost go unnoticed at first listen but offer a new look to the song.
The last song I want to touch on is the third single from the record, âDear Winter.â The song is about Ryan Metâs future child sung by Jack. The song also takes the form of a letter, with Jack introducing each verse (letter) with âDear Winter.â Itâs a heartbreaking song about all the amazing things that Winter will experience when she is born and as she grows up, but the feeling that sometimes Jack wonât get to be there for her or grow up with her. The song further captures this emotion with it being the only acoustic guitar song on the record. With just Jack and his guitar, the song tugs on all the heart strings in all the right ways.
Neotheater is a beautiful work of art full of personal lyrics, outrageous orchestrations, and relatable themes. Since all three brothers still attend Columbia College when they are on break, hearing these words and songs sung by people in this age range adds to the experience of the album, giving you a glimpse of whatâs to come, what is happening now, or a deeper look into the past. Another bonus is the fact that a lot of songs have Easter eggs referencing other songs on the album. So, go ahead and give Neotheater a couple listens â I promise you will not regret it.

Teen Titans Go To The Movies REVIEW:
 Ahem
"I DON'T KNOW WHO CREATED...TEEN TITANS GO!....BUT I'D TRIED TO FIGURE OUT HOW WE GET THEM TO HAVE TEEN TITANS _GO. TO. THE. POLLS." _  *Beat*
 "I'm with her!"
** Â **Hello everybody, my name is JoyofCrimeArt, and it's time to finally put this to rest. I've already gave my very...very...very extensive thoughts on Teen Titans Go! in my last two reviews.
Oh my gosh, why didn't I call those reviews "Teen Titans Go! is Garbage and Here's Why?!" It was probably long enough and would of gotten way more views!
But back on topic. To summarize my thoughts though I think Teen Titans Go!, while I do think that there are some good elements and even good episodes of the series, I didn't end up finding it to be a very good series on the whole. However, it is a series that I do enjoy watching in a weird, ironic kinda way. It's a very love hate relationship. It's a bad show, but I will be sad when it ends, cause it has impacted my life that much. So when word of a movie came to be, it immediately grabbed my interest as well as my curiosity. What could a show like Teen Titans Go! possibly do with a movie? Teen Titans Go's! whole "thing" is that it DOESN'T do big superhero stories. Wouldn't making a film kinda go against what the whole show was about? And the show typically had trouble stretching there plots out for eleven minutes, let alone ninety. But as more trailers came out, I started seeing a lot of people genuinely getting excited for the film. Even I had to admit I was kinda getting a little bit hyped by the trailers. And when the film finally did get released it actually succeeded in getting over a ninety percent on rotten tomatoes! Yes, you heard right, CRITICS WERE LIKING TEEN TITANS GO! Could this movie actually be....good? Or would it end up being as obnoxious as the series that it was based on? Well, it's time to find out. Consider this your  **SPOILER WARNING, **as we dive right to Teen Titans Go To The Movies.
I both love and hate that title.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9WhJyyTtqo
The film begins with a giant balloon monster attack Jump City. And right off the back, I wanna praise the animation of this film. I admit, compared to other tv to film adaptations, it's nothing that _fantastic. However, there is a definite improvement from the series. The backgrounds are very fleshed out and detailed, chock full of little references and Easter eggs here and there. And the animation on the actions scenes (Yes, this film has those) is actually really good and surprisingly fluid. I admit though, this may just be slight bias because I'd pretty much praise any form of theatrical 2D animation now of days because COME ON, HOLLYWOOD! WHY WON'T YOU MAKE MORE 2D FILMS ALREADY!!!
_ Â We get a scene that manages to, in a very quick and effective manor, establish the films tone as well as show off all five of our main characters and establish there powers. Really impressive stuff. Is what I would say, If it didn't also includes an overly long fart joke, and a rap. Wow, six minutes. Is that a record for "kids film?" Guinness..can we verify?
When the Titans, in typical Titans fashion, fail to stop the villain. This results in the Justice League to show up and stop the villain for them. And NICHOLAS CAGE plays Superman! YES! Okay movie, you get points for that. I'm fair here. That's also another thing this movie has over the series. Not all the side characters are played by Scott Menville or Tara Strong! They have like, MORE than five voice actors to pull from. Amazing, I know. The Justice League chastise the Titans for there general incompetents at everything, and bring up the fact that if they were real heroes they would have there on movie by now.
As I mentioned in my previous reviews, Teen Titans Go! is at it's best when it's meta. And with so many superhero movies now of days, the Teen Titans Go! movie not only acknowledging this trend, and incorporating it in it's plot feels like a natural progression from the type of plots featured in the show. So I think this was a good direction for the film to take. There are a ton of jokes bashing not just DC films, but Marvel and Fox movies as well. And these jokes tend to be the highlights. When I first saw the trailer I was worried that these jokes would quickly get old, seeing how many of them are in the trailer. But in the film proper, they mix it up and spread them out enough to keep them enjoyable. So kudos on that.
The Justice League fly off to go to the world premiere of Batman's newest film and the Titans decide to sneak into the red carpet premiere themselves. As they show up the films director, Jade Wilson (played by Kristen Bell), get's up on stage and starts revealing the slate for the next several DC movies. And just like in real life, there all Batman spin-off properties! Robin sits there in anticipation, hoping that a movie will be announced. But we get this, instead.
See, the thing about this that is funny is that THERE ACTUALLY DOING THIS. I doubt the people making this movie knew that at the time. But neither the less, it's happening, and I have proof.
After a few more trailers Robin ends up jumping on stage thinking that his movie is going to be next only to discover that there is no plans for a Robin movie. All the other heroes laugh him off stage until all the Titans run out of the theater. The other Titans try to consul Robin, but Robin is adamant that if he doesn't get his own superhero movie he'll never be seen as a real hero. Raven suggest that if he wants a movie, first he'll need an arch nemesis. And just as she says that a crime occurs and the Titans go to investigate.
The crime is being committed by none other than Slade, now voiced by Will Arrnet instead of Ron Perlman. And he is there to steal some kind of "mind gem." I like Slade in this movie. Sure, he's absolutely NOTHING like Slade from the original series, but that's okay cause he is his own unique take that fits the tone that the movie is going for. Also Will Arrnet is great casting for a more comedic take on Slade. I mean the creators of the original Teen Titans show said in interviews that they wrote Slade to be an evil Batman. So who'd be better to voice him than Lego Batman himself. My only gripe, and it is a minor one, is that while the film makes a big deal about Slade being a "serious villain" that only a "serious superhero" would have as an arch enemy. But he's only _slightly _less silly than the Titans. And while this isn't that big of a deal since Slade is funny here, it does seem to kinda go against the narrative that Slade is suppose to representing.
Also, when Slade and the Titans meet, and neither seem to know who each other are, with the Titans believing that he is Deadpool. Even though in the series the Titans have acknowledged Slade in the series before, and even battled him before. (off screen, but still.) How does this all fit-
Slade easily defeats the Titans, and mocks them for there incompetence. The Titans go back to there tower where Robin begins to feel sorry for himself, believing that he will never be a real hero. What? _Character conflict?! _The next morning the Titans get Robin and bring him to a "world premiere" of a Robin movie they made for him, complete with a cardboard limo and everything. _What? Something touching...no, that's not right. WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE REAL TITANS!?
_ Â I do wanna touch on this. In this movie the Titans act very out of character from how they do in the show. But that is actually a good thing, cause the Titans in the series...are awful. In my previous Teen Titans Go! review I talk about how the original series Titans felt like a family, while it felt like the Go! versions just hated each other. But in this movie all the characters are way more likable. (Mostly, we'll get to that later.) And there feels like a real sense of connection between the characters. Sure there still goofy, and they make fun of each other, but they really do feel like a family. And this goes a LONG way with making me feel invested and actually rooting for our heroes to succeed in there goals.
Robin watches the film, but turns it off when the movie makes fun of his "baby hands" (A running "joke" from the series.) The other Titans try to get him to finish the film but he's uninterested. _Man, I'm sure that won't be brought up again. In the films climax when the characters are at their lowest point! _Robin is hard set on believing that he'll never be seen seriously as a hero, but the other Titans encourage him to buck up and head down to Warner Bros. and DEMAND that they make a movie about him. And they do so in song.
This seems like a good of a time as any to bring up that this movie is a musical. Possibly the first superhero musical? The song themselves, while nothing THAT amazing, are a step up from most of the songs in the series. i.e) They actually seem like they were written. (And that's not me being hyperbolic. A lot of the songs in Teen Titans Go! are made up on the spot! Look it up!) But what I really appreciate is how for several of the songs there is an art style shift, and that's really neat to see. Especially with a theatrical budget.
The Titans go down to Warner Bros and go up to Jade Wilson and demand for a film. But she turns them down, saying that she would only make a movie about them if they were the last heroes on Earth. And that's exactly what the Titans decide to do! They decide to use time travel to go back in time and undo all the other superheroes origin stories so they'll be the only superheros.
Yeah, this is the direction we're going. It's Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water all over again.
And they can't use there time machine from the series cause it's "broken." So Raven just magic ups some time tricycles. WHATS THE POINT OF THE TIME MACHINE EVEN BEING BROKEN THEN IF RAVEN CAN GET MAKE NEW ONES NO PROBLEM? They could of made some joke where they like, steal Booster Gold's time machine at least. You just wanted a dumb "Back to the Future" reference didn't you? DIDN'T YOU! And while playing "Take on Me" makes me forgive you A LITTLE BIT, this whole situation is still stupid.
In fact this whole "bit" is still stupid. And I say "bit" cause this whole time traveling section contributes nothing to the plot, and is only like, ten minutes long. The Titans go back in time to undo all the superhero's origins. (And end up murdering Aquaman as a child.) They come back to the present to see that villains have taken over the world. And then they go back and undo everything they already undid. (Including blowing up Krypton and frickin shoving Bruce Wayne's parents into Crime Alley as young Bruce watches!)
_That's his adoptive grandma he's watching get shot down... _ Â And I know you can say "Oh, it's comedy" or whatever, but this movie was actually doing a good job making me like the Titans. And maybe it's just because I've always had issues with the "main characters nonchalantly murder people" trope. But considering that this whole time travel thing literally adds nothing outside of stretching the film up _just _enough to reach ninety minuets, I can say it does nothing but hurt the film.
Also, Baby Superman gyrate his infant crotch while pointing at it, in this film aimed at children.
As someone who's defended the Powerpuff Girl reboot's twerking scene numerous time I suppose it be hypocritical to complain. So instead, I'm just going to list movies that have a lower rotten tomato score than Teen Titans Go to the Movies. For...unrelated reasons. Ahem
_Lilo and Stitch. The Kung-Fu Panda Trilogy. Princess and the Frog. Tangled. Frozen. Coraline. The Lego Batman Movie.... _
Anyway after all that, the Titans go off to try to stop Slade from committing another robbery. And this time the Titans are sure they'll beat him. We get an actually good fight scene and some Raven-Beast Boy ship tease that comes out of nowhere and contributes nothing. I know it's a thing from the show, but nothing in this movie setting it up. And it doesn't lead to anything. The Titans are able to get the "Mind Gem" that Slade stole earlier away from him and they put it in the Titans tower vault, but Slade still escapes.
But the next day, the Titans are suddenly seen as real heroes for stopping Slade's plan. They head back to the film set and are greeted with a much warmer welcome. Jade decides that she does want to make a Teen Titans movie after all, and Robin is ecstatic. However, the other Titans don't take the gig as seriously and all go goof off, getting Robin into hot water with Jade.
It all comes to a head when the other Titans see the Justice League building some kind of doomsday device, and assume that Jade is up to no good. Which is dumb because they have no reason to assume that it isn't just a prop for the film. But whatever. However, Jade reveals that this doomsday device is actually just a machine to launch there new streaming service. The device would broadcast DC films across all screens all over the word, with the Teen Titans movie being the first film they would release for the service.
You're telling me that Jades launching a DC superhero based streaming service, and the only thing it will have at launch is Teen Titans? Pfft! _That's totally ridiculous, and completely unrealistic..._DC Universe didn't have Titans at launch!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJF7k5cFQEQ
Jade gets angry and decides to fire the Titans. But says that she would be willing to make a solo Robin movie, since he didn't do anything wrong. Robin chooses to go with Jade and leave his friends behind. I admit, this is where the movie does start to become a bit predictable. You've seen this story arc before, the friends vs fame thing, and it goes exactly where you think it's gonna go. But I do like how there isn't a huge fight like you'd see in other movies. Both sides are upset that it's come to this, but clearly don't wanna hurt the other. Again, outside the earlier genocide of an entire planet, the Titans are pretty likable in this film.
Robin and Jade begin working on the film, and it ends up being everything Robin wanted. But he's still beginning to feel some regret. However, Jade convinces him to buckle through it and film the last scene. A reenactment of Robin putting Slade's mind gem in the Titans vault. But right as he's about to enter the code a stage light knocks him out. He awakens and decides to finish the scene anyway. Jade telling him to make the scene look authentic. And again, it's pretty obvious where this is going.
Robin puts in the code and the safe opens. Jade took Robin to the real tower while he was knocked out and reveals herself to be Slade in a Lupin III style latex mask! Okay, maybe that last part wasn't too predictable. But even ignoring the name JADE WILSON, It was telegraphed pretty obviously that Jade was evil since the scene where she made Robin chose fame over his friends.
But hey, it's still a better twist villain than Frozen.
Slade steals the mind gem and plans on using it in tandem with Robins film and the streaming service to mind control the entire planet to do his bidding. He handcuffs Robin to the tower walls and activates a series of bombs, leaves him to die. But Robin escapes thanks to his baby hands. A twist that is just as unexpected as it is stupid. The tower is destroyed but Robin survives, and realizes the error of his ways. He calls the other Titans and all is forgiven because they are a team.
The Titans now head to the film studio to stops Slade's plan, but they are unable to stop him before he uses Robin's movie to mind control the entire Justice League. Robin goes after Slade while the rest of the Titans have to face down the Justice League. There's a short action scene that could of been longer in my personal opinion. Then Raven just uses her OP magic powers to trap the entire Justice League in a portal.
**NOW YOUR THINKING WITH PORTALS! **That's..that's the meme, right? I-I haven't ever played_ Portal._
Robin confronts Slade, but Slade surrounds Robin with monitors all playing his movie. Robin becomes tempted to view his movie and gets mind controlled. In a nice (though juries still out of if it was intentional) callback to the original series, Slade commands Robin to attack his friends and he complies. But wait, remember that obvious Chekhov's gun from earlier in the film? It's time to pull the trigger! The Titans play the movie they made for Robin, but this time they get to the end where they all talk about how much Robin means to them as a leader. The power of friendship frees Robin from Slade's mind control.
But Slade has a mech now! This was not set up at all, but who cares at this point. _Mechs are cool damn it! _Slade once again mocks the Titans, asking how a team as goofy as them could possibly stop him now. But Robin and the rest of the team realize that they don't need to be "legitimized" or seen as "real heroes." They just need to stop the bad guy in there own way. We get a reprise of the rap song from the beginning as the Titans defeat Slade in their own silly way. They destroy the mind control device and the Justice League go back to normal. The movie ends with the Titans realizing that they truly are heroes and...wait a minute...something is off here. It's 2018...and this movie doesn't end with a dance party! Teen Titans Go!, the show that is known for random dance sequences, is actually one of the few modern films not to end with a dance party ending?! What the hell?
But we do get our post credits scene!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F06HJTyB17c
Is this it? Is this the preview for Teen Titans Season 6?!
Not quite! Rather it's just setting up an upcoming "Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans" crossover, that's rumored to be heading direct to DVD with a new crew working behind it. You what that means right? It isn't over. My job isn't done yet. There's still more to talk about! THE RIDE NEVER ENDS, BABY! I'M GONNA KEEP TALKING ABOUT TEEN TITANS GO! UNTIL THE DAY I DIE!Â
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwDIZT3XbjQ
While Teen Titans Go To The Movies didn't do that great at the box office, the film had a low enough budget to end up making a pretty substantial profit. Which is more than most DCEU films can say. I doubt we'll see the Titans on the big screen anytime soon, but it wasn't a bomb critically or financial. But what is my final verdict here?
The film in a lot of ways solves a lot of problems I had with the series. For one, the Titans are all a lot more likable, which goes a long way in helping me get invested. And while the show seems to conflate "conflict" with "serious" this film manages to have a plot and story while still keeping it's comedic tone the entire way through. More technical issues the show had like animation and reusing voice actors are near non-existent here. And the film manages to do what I think episodes like "The Return of Slade" tried and failed to do. It celebrates it's own silliness and imperfections, but does it in a way that isn't just "attacking the haters." Like I said, Teen Titans Go! is best when it's meta.   But the film has it's problems too. The plot points at times can be kinda predictable. There are a lot of scenes that really don't add anything to the story beyond stalling for time. And there are a lot of points where the humor falls back into the same loud, juvenile, mean spirited jokes that the series is known for. Also, while Robin is my favorite of the Titans, I would of liked the other characters to have a larger role. For a film that's whole climax is hinged on the idea of a Robin solo film being a bad idea, but that's what the film can kinda feel like at time.
Overall, the film is about what I thought it would be. It's okay. It's up there with the best of the episodes of the show, but not really going that far beyond it. (In fact, I'd say their are a few episodes from the main series that are better than this film.) It's good, but I wouldn't call it 91% on rotten tomatoes good. If you like Teen Titans Go! you'll like this movie if you're willing to put up with a little more drama. If you hate Teen Titans Go! you'll like the movie if you are able to just turn your brain off and put up with some more childish jokes here and there. And if you can't do either of those things...watch Lego Batman. It's better than this film anyway, regardless of what rotten tomato says, and has a similar vibe about it.
And with that, I can finally put Teen Titans Go! to rest**. For now! **What did you think of the movie? Was it "You're new favorite film?" or was it just as bad as the many people said it would be? I'd love to hear your thought in the comments down bellow. Fav, follow, or comment if you liked my review or have a suggestion on what I should talk about next. And tune in next week as deviantcember continues! Have a great day.

LOZ Mini Blocks Proâs and Cons
Just a small opinion review from a casual hobbyist, will be updated as I play with more sets and notice other things.
Ebay --- Amazon --- AlieExpress --- LOZ Ideas Store
Facts:
- German owned company that produces and ships from China.
- LOZ blocks are 75% the size of Legoâs. There is also a Micro/Diamond block that is EVEN SMALLER. They cannot be used with Lego sets.
- Will take a few weeks to arrive after order.
- Carries a variety of themes in both small and large builds: Copyright characters as figures (anime, pokemon, nintendo, superheroes), cityscapes, vehicles, famous buildings, creatures, objects, and more!
- As they are a smaller block and more detailed sets, these are not meant for small children. Depending on the set you want a detail oriented kid or an adult involved.
PROâS:
Cost$$$ - Oh man the price is nice! You get a full complete project for a third or more of a Lego equivalent set.
Box and Shipping$$ - You can purchase these sets with the box, or without. Purchasing without the box saves you on shipping costs big time and they come in resealable zipper bags. So if you not looking to do a box display this is a great cost saver.
Quality - The bricks are sturdy, well made, and vibrant colours. Just like Lego though keep them out of direct sunlight when displayed or you will get colour fade.
Design - I have yet to be disappointed with the detail and construction of the sets I have picked up! Many little details that make the builds interesting to build and look at after with regards to using different blocks to make different looks for textures and finishes.
Connectivity - These suckers arenât loose at all, so there will be no spontaneous falling apart, which I appreciate when my cat decides to be Godzilla. While this does also make it difficult to take apart, most deconstruction can be aided with the provided tool.
Instructions - Full colour quality printed glossy instructions. No written instructions, itâs all by life size drawn pictures. Each step includes the number of each type of block for the set and cut away displays for smaller combinations in that step.
Size: Due to the small size of the resulting sets you can squeeze a few more into your display than you could with Legoâs. Also if you just love tiny things it will give you a warm fuzzy feeling.
CONâS:
Purchasing and Shipping: LOZ does not have a direct store to buy from. There are a few sets available on Amazon, but your best bets are in Ebay and AlieExpress. AlieExpress does host a âmainâ store for LOZ, but there are also other secondary stores. Due to having to purchase through a third party you have to be careful if the company isnât a scam. Check to make sure it is a well established seller so no one vanishes with your money, and if you receive a set with black and white printed instructions, you have a rip off. There arenât any special shipping options, so your order no matter where you purchase from may take a few weeks to over a month to arrive (yes, included via amazon!).
Size: These are small, hard blocks. Great for detail, not so great for soft delicate fingers. If you have thick fingers you might find building with these VERY frustrating. This also applies if you have long fingernails. Also if you have arthritis or chronic pain issues these probably arenât for you as they take a bit of pressure to snap together and can give your fingers some pain after pushing against tiny blocks the whole build. I can only do one small build in a day as my fingertips get sore. Then again I donât have any calluses and have delicate piano hands, so that might just be a me problem!
Connectivity: That wonderful snap that keeps the set from falling apart can also make it a pain in the backside to take apart. The tool is great for most things, but I do run in to problems when removing smooth topped pieces. My poor nails have to get in there or a kitchen knife to jimmy them off. Also I did run into an issue on one set where a pole was going into a tubed piece. The tube piece was to tight to go on the poll, so I had to leave that part out.
Prints & Stickers: Lego prints their designs on their blocks, LOZ does not. LoZ uses stickers, which are fine, but can be figgly for some people. As my sets are new I do not know the longevity of the stickers.
Instructions: Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to read them, watch for those red lines and where they line up on the two pieces that are involved! The colours of the blocks are also off from real life, so it takes a moment to figure out the right colour.
OVERALL REVIEW:
I LOVE THEM!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
These are cost effective, detailed, fun, interesting little builds! The downsides are all just minor figgly things (at least for me) so it is beyond worth it! I am looking forward to purchasing other varieties of sets from LOZ, my wallet is already crying for mercy.

To get started with LEGO Vidiyo, youâll need to buy a BeatBox. Retailing at $20, these consist of a single Minifigure, a custom case to decorate with LEGO Dots, and a starter set of 16 BeatBits (printed 2x2 tiles; 14 of the included BeatBits are random, 2 are unique to that set).
There are currently 12 different BeatBoxes to choose from, and around 130 BeatBits to collect at the time of writing. The Minifigures are all unique and full of character, as you expect from something that's essentially a variation on the collectible Minifigure range. Each BeatBox has around 70-90 pieces, so don't expect a lengthy traditional LEGO building experience with any of these.
Building your character's carry case is fairly simple, consisting of four or five pieces, a strap, and some dots and tiles to decorate it. The carry handle looks like a pair of headphones, which is a nice touch.
But if you want to jump straight in, all you really need to build to start using the Vidiyo app is the Minifigure and the fold-out staging. Place your character in the center, fold out the sides, and affix up to 12 BeatBits. Scan this into the app to unlock that character for your band.
You can add multiple characters to your band if you own them, but youâll need to re-scan one of them each time you want to perform (not all of them; just one). Each band can only have three members maximum, and since you might have more than one person using the Vidiyo app, LEGO has made it easy to manage multiple bands, each with its own artwork and costume choices etc. It's worth pointing out that bands can't be given a custom nameâthe Vidiyo app will generate random names that are family-friendly.
Make Your First Vidiyo!
To start performing, pick a song. The song choices rotate every so often, rather than being an ever-growing library, which is a good reason to check in now and then to see what's available. This week it's an eclectic mix with everything from modern pop (I won't pretend to know any of it), to Guns 'n' Rosesâso you're always sure to find something you like. You can't use your own music though.

Once you've chosen the song, you need to scan at least one of the characters in your band (again), as well as up to 12 BeatBits.
BeatBits are special effects to use while you record the music video. These vary from environmental effects, video warps, or audio filters. You donât need to worry about orienting the BeatBits the right way upâthe app will recognize them regardless. You can store spare BeatBits in the back of the carry case.
Next, choose a real-world location to be your stage, and scan around so the Augmented Reality system can recognize the environment. Hereâs where things get really interesting. On the left-hand side, you can choose the scale that your mini-figures perform at:
Minifig scale, which is the same as actual LEGO sets, so you can have them dance alongside your existing LEGO without looking out of place; or build them a custom stage.
Human scale, so you can dance alongside your band, or just see them in life-size.
Massive, where they become giants.
Point your device around the stage (that is, the camera) and the performers will follow. Once you've picked the exact location you want them to stand in, click through to the main performance interface. Here, your band will begin performing autonomously, lip-syncing to the music. As the video director and cameraman, youâll have access to all the special effects buttons you initially scanned, as well as the ability to move the camera around. If you point toward a specific performer, you can also click the round profile icon that appears to instruct them to do their own special move. For those with smaller hands, it's easier to do this on a smartphone rather than a tablet purely due to the weight of the device. My son's videos frequently ended up aimed at the floor while he tried to simultaneously hold the heavy tablet in one hand and press the screen in the other.
Of course, if you have friends who want to star in the video too, you can shout directions to them (or just "get out the way, mum!").
Each video lasts a minute, at which point you can preview and save your creation. Completing a performance will also unlock things like costume changes, band art, and other aesthetic elements.
But You Canât (Really) Share Anything
Did your little darling create a hilarious video that youâd love to share to the family Snapchat group? Sorry, you canât. Not only is there no way within the app to share directly to any social networks; but thereâs also no way to download the creation to the device storage then get a parent to manually share it out. If you're absolutely determined, you could hook up your device to a computer and record the screen, but honestly, who has the time for that?
I completely understand the decision not to include any share options directly within the app; after all, this is designed for children, and children arenât even allowed on most social networks. What you can do is save it within the app, or share a 5-20 second clip of it to the Vidiyo community feed. You should only do so if there aren't any actual people featured in the video. As you'd expect from a LEGO app, it's heavily moderated, so should your child want to browse other's creations, you shouldn't have any concerns about unsuitable material appearing.
Not having the ability to export the video in any way at all feels like a massive missed opportunity. One might presume it comes down to rights issues of the music, but that seems unlikely given they're 60-second clips, not even whole songs. I suspect it's more because LEGO really doesn't want the app being used inappropriately.
Expanding With Bandmates and Boombox
Similar to the mini figure series, Bandmates packs offer a single random Minifigure to add to your band, as well as one unique and two random Beat Bits. Theyâre not cheap though, coming in at $5 each. This kind of lucky dip bag isnât new to LEGO (the entire collectible Minifigure line is sold in that way), but that doesnât make them any less heinous: the physical equivalent of loot boxes.
The most expensive addition to the Vidiyo line, the BoomBox adds a physical stage and four custom environments for your band to perform on; as well as four new bandmates, weighing in at 996 pieces for $100. LEGO has also launched some smaller stages for the European market, though it's not yet clear if those will make it to the US.
A Very Brief History of Digital LEGO Play
LEGO has remained a reliable treatment for the modern problem of screen addiction in children, so when the two worlds collide, the results are always interesting. While the LEGO group has had countless successes with original video games, it's only recently begun embracing the digital arena directly as a play feature with its brick playsets.
For the older crowd, the Mindstorms EV3 and Robotics kits offer technical builds and Scratch-like programming options. Dimensions was a curious mash-up of physical and digital, using RFID to import characters into a video game, though ultimately was little more than a fancy way of typing in a secret code. The PoweredUp line of cars and trains offers Bluetooth remote control via a smartphone app.
LEGO first experimented with Augmented Reality in the form AR Studio, and Playgrounds; both were quickly shelved. More recently it saw success with the Hidden Side sets, in which users could use AR to bring the models to life and play a number of ghost hunting games.
Should You Buy Into LEGO Vidyo?
Despite its shortcomings when it comes to exporting your creations, the Vidyo range has proven to be popular in the household, both for this big 39-year-old boy and his 7-year-old mini-me. LEGO has finally nailed a compelling use case for Augmented Reality; one that engages children and adults alike with creative screen time, seamlessly melting the digital and physical play.
The recent additions of new stages show LEGO is committed to the range, and even if the digital disappears, youâll be left with some amazing mini-figures and unique pieces to use in your own creations.
At $20 for a Vidyo BeatBox, the buy-in price to try it out isnât bad either; though itâs a shame some of the additional characters come in the form of lucky bags.

Nov 24, 2004 Hi folks, So I picked up homeworld 2 for mac having played it on a friend's PC, but really missed the ability to add mods for multiplayer games when i played it on mac. I even emailed Aspyr, but they were no help. Then the other day i came across a an explanation for how to do it, at least.
Homeworld 2 November 1, 2004 | Michael Yanovich

Secondly Homeworld 2 was written and ported to the Mac in such a way that you can take advantage of many of the great game mods out there. I've run the version of the game wherein all the ships are Legos, for example.
The Homeworld Remastered Collection introduces Relic's acclaimed space strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2 to modern players and operating systems using the newest sophisticated graphics rendering technology, plus a fully remastered score and new, high fidelity voice recordings by the original actors.
I never played the original Homeworld â it didnât make it over to the Mac and I donât own a PC â so I wasnât sure what to expect when I got this game. Iâd just heard lots of positive buzz, and something about a real time strategy game set in outer space. So I wasnât surprised when thatâs exactly what I got. What did surprise me is how exceedingly cool this game is.
But first, a few words about most RTS games in general. In my experience, single player campaigns start off fairly slow and easy and gradually introduce new units as the storyline progresses. Many players finish up the single player campaign and then move on to multiplayer battles over the internet, where experience levels really matter. That is to say, most of us can beat a single player game with enough save points and a couple of tries. You just donât have to be an especially good player. But multiplayer games tend to fall into two categories. The first, games with a few friends, all of whom know the game basics but arenât particularly amazing. Then there are those players you frequently run into in online ladder games, opponents who are really great players. They know the ultimate build sequences, unit locations, rush strategies, resource gathering patterns⌠they have the entire battle plan in their head before they even start a game.
Well, maybe itâs just me but Homeworld 2 seems to require you be the second kind of player â the highly skilled one â to really get into this game. This is clearly not meant for casual gamers, and frankly I felt a bit overwhelmed at times. But even in the midst of a heavy battle where I was getting my butt kicked, I loved this game!
There seems to be a decent story here, which is told in stylized animated cutscenes with top notch voice acting. I confess to not fully understanding the major plot points, mainly because the âHereâs what happened in the last gameâ intro wasnât particularly clear. But whatever. Seems like humanityâs survival is in jeopardy and you must lead a ragtag fleet of ships through space on a lonely quest for a planet known as Earth. Oops, thatâs Battlestar Galactica. Sorry! Anyway, change the word Earth to Homeland and youâll be relatively close to this gameâs plot.
I know Iâm in the minority when I say stories arenât that important in many games. If I wanted a plot Iâd watch a movie or read a book. Gamewise, the only story points I care about are the ones I need to know in order to play the game. But I will admit that these cutscenes were entertaining enough that I actually paid attention to what was going on, which seemed like a lot of âweâre getting our butts handed to us, letâs run before we lose more ships,â followed by a brief, âWhew, weâre safe! Letâs rest. What? Drat! They found us! Quick, fight them so we can run again!â
Homeworld 2 For Macbook Pro
And thatâs fine by me. It kept me focused on the end goal of saving our species from the alien hoards. But in all seriousness, there does seem to be enough of a plot to keep story fans satisfied in between epic battles. And thatâs what this game is all about. Epic. Freakinâ. Battles!
Pages:123Gallery
In 1999, Relic EntertainmentââŹâ˘s groundbreaking Homeworld took the gaming world by surprise. Still widely regarded as the gold standard of space real-time strategy games, it successfully coupled lush graphics with a sleek interface that made manipulating camera angles and toggling between build and formation menus in 3D space incredibly easy. Homeworld 2 takes the original and upgrades it. With a new game engine, especially during massive battles of all ship classes, you canââŹâ˘t help but admire its finer points, from its lovely dynamic lighting to its chilly ââŹĹrealism.ââŹ
The Homeworld universe is ââŹĹhardâ⏠science fiction, as opposed to, say, StarCraft. The large, complex battles it depicts have an austere, clinical feel thatââŹâ˘s more admirable than immersive, regardless of the camera angle. But itââŹâ˘s great hard sci-fi, and the visuals really suck you in ââŹâliterallyââŹâas you zoom in closer like a jeweler with a loupe, and the distant flashes gradually coalesce into thousands of stories unfolding. For a game totally devoid of visible living organisms, Homeworld 2 compensates by making you care about simulated husks of flying machinery. Your people live inside those fragile husks, fly them, die in themââŹâthe exhaust trails become their souls. As in Homeworld, you feel for these poor trusting bastards scrounging for asteroids out in the middle of genuine nowhere.
Which is partly what makes much of the martinet story campaign such a bummer. HomeworldââŹâ˘s poignant air of cosmic mystery is largely absent; here everythingââŹâ˘s all grueling puzzle and puzzling grind. Instead of offerings like HomeworldââŹâ˘s wonderfully eerie Garden of Kadesh, the sequel gives you exhausting debacles like the fourth mission, in which doing things in sequence directly opposite from whatââŹâ˘s suggested is not only possible but proves a tenth as ulcerous, and the outright sadistic red herring of the tenth one. ThereââŹâ˘s no let-up, just an overriding sense of attrition and hopelessness as you watch your entire ââŹĹpersistentâ⏠fleet get persistently pulverized many times over.
ItââŹâ˘s not just the difficulty either, but the logic. The third mission introduces marine frigates, which ââŹĹcaptureâ⏠enemy ships in multiplayer, but in single-player only give the misleading impression of being able to do so (including attaching to the ship and displaying a steadily increasing ââŹĹcapture barââŹ). Also annoying is the automatic collection of resources. The lack of such an option was, ironically, one of the few valid criticisms leveled at Homeworld. Here, automatic collection occurs the second youââŹâ˘ve completed your mission goals, which entails starting the next level short-handed.
The storyline has its moments, but after CataclysmââŹâ˘s strange, daring waters, Homeworld 2ââŹâ˘s scavenger-hunt plotline feels for most of its length like an almost spitefully conventional rehash, top-heavy with extra-galactic ancient races that no longer exist except as convenient plot devices. (The whole thingââŹâ˘s an anthropomorphized riff on David BrinââŹâ˘s Uplift novels, which take space combat imagery to heights Homeworld 2 can only dream of). Your new enemies, the Vaygr, have swanky vertical missile launchers but donââŹâ˘t seem inherently distinct as a culture from your own Hiigarans; they are supposed to represent a ââŹĹconglomeration of races.ââŹ
Homeworld 2 For Mac Catalina
HomeworldââŹâ˘s interface involved toggling to separate screens for building ships and researching technologies, but there were few options, it never seemed cumbersome. Here the menu takes up a third of the screen, obscuring your view of the luscious space graphics, and you canââŹâ˘t move or shrink it. Hitting R minimizes the research menu, but B doesnââŹâ˘t minimize the build menu. For all their bigness, the menus donââŹâ˘t seem to use their space wisely; it makes you long for the minimalist simplicity of the sensors manager.
Many basics feel harder, although you get used to them. You now build the smaller ships in complete squadrons, presumably to make the battles bigger and more spectacular, but clicking on an individual ship gives you the relative health of the entire squadron at the bottom of the screen, which is less precise. Why not an AI setting to have ships auto-dock when theyââŹâ˘re near death? Why canââŹâ˘t collectors auto-repair? Why no patrol? How about being able to assign docked craft to groups? Alt-bandboxing a group of ships that includes hostiles doesnââŹâ˘t show a list of all those selected, as it did in the original and Cataclysm
The beloved formations such as sphere and claw have been abandoned for new, more efficient ââŹĹstrike groups,â⏠fleets that can include multiple ship types but move at the speed of their slowest unit. Familiarity with these is a major factor in combat, but the rock-paper-scissors consequences of using each type are barely touched on in the slender manual, itself a mockery of the original gameââŹâ˘s thick, detailed documentation.
For all its clumsy new baggage and rushed feel, Homeworld 2 takes itself seriously, designed from the ground up as a reward to the faithful rather than an olive branch to the casual newcomer. The lucky few up to its Sisyphean challenges will find themselves rewarded for their loyalty.
