listen. when I randomly decided that I wanted to learn how to make ceramic dishes, it was mostly because I wanted to make something with my own 2 hands — and when I wasn’t immediately good at it, I decided that I wouldn’t stop until I was.

Its been a long couple of months with a lot of struggles but I can finally say that I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It hasn’t been easy but the journey and the process has been fun and i genuinely can’t wait to see what comes next!

Maybe about how specific characters show that they interact with the reader? For example, how they act before reader is in HSR, and once reader is in HSR? As for characters, you can choose who ever you want! You're the one writing it after all.

As for writing, you asked if writing gets better if you do it often? And well, for me what works is writing, doesn't matter if it not good, just enjoy yourself. Plus reading books, fanfics, or whatever you like once again, and this time try to pay attention to how things are worded in your favorite books/fanfics.

I touched on her briefly in another post, but know that despite her arrogance and apathy towards most, she’s just as down bad for you as the rest of the cast.

She gives her absolute best when it comes to you.

Also in Simulated Universe, your word is absolute law. If the simulated you decides that the project is a bad idea or something, Herta will absolutely stop, regardless of the resources she put into its creation.

I imagine her to be with you the exact opposite of how she treats everybody else- with the utmost respect and attention.

Once you actually do make it inside of the game for whatever reason, Herta is absolutely ecstatic.

When you’re actually around her though…

Let’s say that her IQ drops by a significant amount.

Combined with her intense faith, this can lead to a lot of misunderstandings and false assumptions.

You can legit just be sitting down or something and herta will be in the background like “WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN!”

Born as a reincarnation(?) of the Watchmaker, I’m not actually going to discuss him. Rather, I wanna talk about who he originally was, and (technically) his creation.

Mikhail Char Legwork, aka The Watchmaker, was also a devout follower of yours.

All throughout his travels on the Express, he never lost sight of your mercy, which allowed him to survive on his long journeys.

Thanks to this, you end up as a “character” in the Clockie cartoon, who the writers show as a mysterious figure who gave Clockie his powers.

There’s also a LOT of propaganda surrounding you in basically every piece of media, (in the game) including Clockie.

last but most certainly not least, it’s our mom, but more commonly known as Kafka, the charismatic and beautiful Stellaron Hunter with a big bounty and big boobies. (I’m f#cking ashamed of myself for writing that)

She’s the one character on this list that we haven’t been given a backstory for- except some voice lines, but they really don’t tell us anything.

As such, the only real thing I can tell you is that she’s faithful to you, just like everyone else.

It becomes a completely different song and dance if you come to them, though.

She’s essentially a glorified wine aunt, and she will treat you out for whatever you wish.

She’s also very very defensive of you.

That guy over looks stole a glance? Dead next morning.

That girl goes even within 50 meters of you without your permission? Her fate is sealed.

Kafka is by no means like this to you, however.

She’s probably gonna lick your shoes free of charge.

My go-to "underrated fave" though is Secret's Please Hold, a very cleverly produced track about a help line with very interesting hold music. Extra bonus points for the version where the person you're trying to reach picks up the phone at the end ^^

9: Which antagonist could you never forgive?

Well, I'm actually a notorious villain lover, so this a very difficult question for me to answer lmao. Especially for an anime that usually attempts to forgive every antagonist and show them the error of their ways. There are antagonists I don't particularly like but still see the reasoning and the attempt at redemption of, like Toichiro.

I think the antagonist I like but could never forgive is Mogami. The dude is hella interesting, he's OP, he's a great foil for Mob—but his reasoning for being evil is trash. My dude literally did not have to kill all those people 😐 And then BLAME it on the people who paid him to do it. Like bestie you made the choice to take that route allll by yourself, even if other people made it easier for you to take than others. He doesn't acknowledge his own failures and acts like Mob is the stupid one for wanting to be kind and help people. And to show him how "terrible" other people are, Mogami,,,,warps the world by removing every one that's ever been kind to Mob. Then removing his powers and telling him THAT'S the reason people treat him badly?? Make it make sense. He did that shit for fun or because he's legit insane or both. AND HE'S NOT EVEN SORRY. MY DUDE JUST CAME BACK, SPOUTED SOME MORE BULLSHIT ABOUT HOW MERCY CAN'T BE THE ANSWER AND THEN FUCKED OFF INTO THE ETHER.

So, while Mogami is my scrunkly and I adore him, if I ever catch that bitch in my neighborhood irl he's catching these hands 😌🙏

Seeing the world from the lens of a powerless child brought novelty. There was a point to doing things that didn’t boil down to the fate of humanity.

This simple interaction left something alive in his chest that would only grow.

In which a hyperactive middle schooler forces his way into Mob’s heart, allowing him to start life anew after giving his youth to extremism. Juggling therapy, a brother, a kid, and the remnants of Claw is a lot.. his past haunts him. And befriends him.

Terryh and Sasha posted a flurry of screenshots of this fic on twitter a while back, and I remembered them when I was looking for a new piece of media to get into, and this fic was the reason I watched MP100 at all—because I wanted to read it with all the context lmao. And it did not disappoint; Sunflower is an Age Swap fic that really digs into the hows and whys of the MP100 world, and while I adore all of Copy's fics, this one is number two on my list of all time favorites. Tiny Arataka and his struggles, Shigeo and Ritsu and their attempts to get better while also wading through their own struggles, the soft fluffiness of their time together contrasted with the world around them, just,,,,,,💋🤌✨ fuckin' SUPERB.

Between Acolytes and Sanctities by Copyspaghetti (Mobrei, unfinished)

The book burnt Arataka's fingers through the leather gloves. As an acolyte of his father's church he got the worst jobs with a front row view of how little it all mattered. Saltville was starving but the Gods did nothing. That's why he stood there now, alone in the woods at the foot of the shadow mountain with a spell book hotter than the bonfire itself. – In which Arataka's village, Saltville, is famined and he asks a forgotten God of the shadow mountains for help. Instead of feeding his village, he lends some of his divine power to the boy to solve his own problems. What could a human become to a God?

My FAVORITE, number ONE Copy fic if you MUST know—because it's about ✨✨ the INTRIGUE ✨✨✨✨🤌🙏✨💕✨ Really super old super powerful Mob tired of everything?? Convinced he's nothing but a plague, only capable of causing devastation?? And little stubborn Arataka demanding that he pay attention to the ants humans again, staring with Arataka, of course. Obviously. The imagery in this one has me by the balls. I'm feral about it, feening for it, I wanna print out this fic's vibes and make it into a snowglobe that I can eat.

His voice is even littler, barely above a whisper. "... Even if I want to?"

The oneshot that one-shots my whole heart ong. I can't even explain how much I love this fic, it just gives me all the warm fuzzies 🥰 Also the tire swing. The tire swing. Read it and you'll know what I mean 🙏

Ironic Process Theory by tragakes (Reirit, unfinished)

Right now Ritsu was virtuous. He was righteous. He was doing what lesser people could not; he was carrying Reigen back to his apartment because Reigen had been beaten within an inch of death, and later he would tell Shigeo that he had saved his boyfriend. Were they boyfriends? They had never referred to each other as such, but Ritsu knew they were fucking, which had to make them boyfriends.

He imagined telling his brother, and he imagined his brother’s expression when he learnt Reigen got hurt, and all of his insides twisted into a hot, tight, knot, and he decided that maybe he wouldn’t tell his brother after all.

That was, in fact, the virtuous and righteous thing to do. One couldn’t go around boasting about their good deeds.

Read this fic RN. 👁️👁️ I love me some ritrei but this? This right here? Takes the cake. Holy shit. It's technically transitive property mobreirit (in that order) but that just makes it better tbh. One of the tags is "Ritsu and his mental gymnastic: extended edition" and that about sums it up. Bitter Anxiety-Ridden Ritsu my beloved 🙏

Piece of Me by allthisandheaventoo (Mob?Rei?, finished)

Mob is a late bloomer. Not enough to be concerning; most kids present at ten or eleven, and Mob is only thirteen. Reigen himself was twelve when it happened, when he had woken up one morning squirming and feverish and horny as all hell before realizing that meant he was an omega. He remembers a kid in his grade who didn’t present until he was sixteen, smelling like pup until halfway through high school. The point being that Mob is completely normal for not having presented yet, and having him around the office has never presented a problem for Reigen before. Until it does.

The A/B/O breastfeeding fic. I think about this fic all the time. It's nested into my brain and it's never leaving. Yes. The ship bit is said to be ambiguous but not TO ME. Fantastic, give me fourteen of 'em rn 🙏

The Paper Moon by DespiteWhatShouldBeOtherwise (gen, finished)

It wasn't the rain, or the car, or even dying that ruined his day.

The worst was when he woke up, and everything that happened after.

In short, Reigen gets hit by a car and winds up leaving the hospital with a little something extra.

I can't say much about this fic without spoiling it, but please know that the mystery and intrigue kept my eyeballs glued to my phone screen every free moment for three whole days. Thank you.

“You know what else is important? Eating. And paying rent. And, hey, we’ve had this conversation, our clients’ lives are important, too. Your life is important. This stopped being a sprint a long time ago, Ritsu. It’s a marathon now. And what do we do during marathons?”

He tells Shigeo about a test he did well in and another he did less well in, and about how it is competitive here, like everyone says it is, like everyone at home had warned him it would be every time they learned he was applying to Matcha University, but it’s competitive in a good way, a friendly way, not a damaging way, because everyone here wants to work hard and do their best and they want everyone around them to do well, too – competitive, but supportive; so it’s good, it’s all good, and it’s all new and different but it’s good. Everything is good. All of Ritsu's stories are pleasant and mild and nice because everything about Ritsu's life is pleasant and mild and nice as well, and all his stories have been told so many times they’re polished smooth by repetition: he offers them up to his brother with well-practised ease.

This fic came into my house and personally beat me up with its bare hands. I'm in love with it. Unrequited Love combined with MEGA "It's Complicated", Ritsu pulling off the heist of the century, and Mob just. Mob. Sigh MOB. carnation always nails the exact flavor of ritmob that I enjoy, but the angst of this one combined with happy(?) ending makes it one of my favs 🥰

“Reigen, are you kidding me? Can’t you keep it in your pants for one minute! This is serious.” Ritsu, outraged, undoubtedly trying to murder Reigen with his eyes. It makes Sato laugh, delighted, and in front of him, Takashi positively grins.

I love my king Sanji, but Od* fumbled HARD on his ass bruh, favorite character my ass.

He legit set this man up in a storyline where from the moment we saw him, Sanji broke all of the stereotypical mold of what it means to be a "traditional man" by making him a cook, making him extra attentive to his appearance, making him emotionally vulnerable and making him so kind as a way to set himself away from his father's toxic mindset and his brothers' abuse for not being enough of a strong man, for daring to care and cry and be weak just to continue portraying him as a pervy character who goes into the women's bath to spy using an invisibility power that was given to him BY HIS ABUSIVE FATHER.

Hell, even his whole arc in Momoiro Island was a big transphobic joke, even though it was the perfect opportunity for him to slowly unlearn the toxic masculinity beliefs that was instilled in him by Judge. Maybe not outright go in drag, but holy hell must Sanji's whole lesson from the 2 years time skip be "I was so deprive of pussy and surrounded by terrible portrayals of gender nonconforming people that I literally come out burning and even more of a perv"?

Don't get me wrong, Sanji is a solid character. Ivankov and Bon-chan are also fantastic characters who I root for wholeheartedly. But until we got to Okiku all the way in Wano, which was hundreds of fucking chapters later, their portrayal of breaking the gender binary and being free from a toxic conformity was extremely flawed and should be criticized.

Also, queerphobic dudebros do not even breathe near my post. I've been reading One Piece for ages, and was deep in its lore for just as long before the whole thing with Od* happened. Any love for the series does not erase the fact that it's not perfect and should be criticize like all other media. I will curse you with termites in your house.

1- When did you start playing Choices? What's the first book you played? 

I honestly don’t remember, probably back in like 2017, 2018. I was playing it with the oldest of the kids I nannied at the time and also by myself cause I enjoyed it. We did it like a little book club together. It was also back when the app was not as spicy lol. We played America’s Most Eligible together, but my first book was Rules of Engagement. 

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the fandom officially back in October of 2020, I had lost interest in the app and then found it again during the pandemic. I finished book one of Open Heart and got sucked in. I fell in love with the characters and then rushed to finish what was out of Book 2 at the time (chapter 8). And then I lucked on Tumblr for a bit, stalked @jamespotterthefirst (lol), and then after chapter 17, I joined for real and wrote my first fic. And I’ve been here ever since. 

3- How did you pick your url name? 

It’s my MC’s name, and what I imagined her instagram/social media handle would be. 

4- Go back to your archive and tell us about the first post on your Choices blog. 

OMG, my first legit post was actually me reblogging a post I made on my real blog about Open Heart. I was asking people what we thought Ethan called MC as a pet name for the fic I was writing. 

5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?

Oh man, way too freakin long. At least 15 years was totes part of the fanfiction.net phase of the internet. I used to write for a couple of shows I was into, but I didn’t get super into writing fanfiction until the show Once Upon a Time. And then I wrote all the time for my favorite ship, Captain Swan. They’re all still up on my main blog. 

6- What is your favorite Choices book to write about?

I’ve actually only written for one, Open Heart. I’ve never had the desire or inspiration for any other book. Even though I’ve played a bunch of books. 

7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?

Do I have to? Lol A Love Like This

It was called A Love Like This, and I hate it. I think mostly because I didn’t have a true voice for Genevieve or my interpretation of Ethan. I contemplate deleting it from my masterlist all the time, but it was part of my journey in the OPH/Choices fandom and paved the way to finding my MC’s voice and my own writing style. So I keep it. 

8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

So many lol But I think my all-time favorite would be my series The Year Between. Does that count? It was the first major series I’ve ever written… ever and it tackled so many things about my characters. My second fav is Breathe Through – it was a very personal piece and means a lot to me. 

9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but could use a little more love?

Oh totally. My first ever smut fic, Something About You. I was not expecting people to be as into it as much as they were. I was pleasantly surprised because our fandom has so many amazing smut writers, and I don’t compare at all. 

As for one I think needs more love? I honestly can’t decide. For as long as I’ve been in this fandom, every fic I’ve posted has been met with so much love and support I can’t think of any that I wish had gotten more. (Maybe my second smut fic, Sunset Glow, only cause I think it got lost in the Smutober chaos, lol)

10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

Angsty Fluff. Best of both worlds. It also gives you more options with like fic topics. I like for my fictional worlds to feel a little more real, so people can relate more and I think angsty fluff allows for that. You can have the struggle and sadness but with a happy ending. 

11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

LMAO Yes. Genevieve is me but smarter. Most of her traits are my own, including her anxiety and I’ve always used writing her a comfort, a way to express myself in a way that’s healing. If that makes any sense. She’s like the version of me I’d want to be one day. Just not a doctor cause I can’t handle other peoples bodily fluids. Lol 

My OC, Natalie Michaels has a bit of me in her too, but not as much as Genevieve. 

12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?

I call it the in between bits, the descriptive parts between dialogue. I think that has to do with my schooling background. I went to college for film and television and did a lot of screen writing for my classes and so dialogue has always come so easy to me. I envision fics like scenes from an episode or movie, so getting the in between parts of fics can be challenging for me. 

13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

So many. The epilogue to The Year Between, a valentines day fic, the rest of the Absence Makes the Heart… series. I hope to get back to them one day, but I’ve learned that I can’t force my brain to write because I never like my work when I do. When I’ll wait until the inspiration for them returns, and then I’ll finish them. 

14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first? 

Yes. I’m so proud of the world I created from Open Heart and if someone wanted to read them I’d let them. I’d just give them the link to the masterlist for Open Heart: Sara’s Version and say, “Start from the top” lol 

15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?

IRL writers? No. I don’t read a lot outside of fanfiction which is horrible lol, but in the random, there are a few. Bree @jamespotterthefirst is a huge inspiration for me. She was one of if not the first people I read when I joined, and I’m just in awe of her work. Everything she writes is amazing and brings me so much joy. Others are @jerzwriter and @potionsprefect, and some who aren’t in the fandom anymore.

16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

All of my universe, aka Open Heart: Sara’s Version. As I said earlier, I write like I’m writing a tv show lol So I wanna see my version of Open Heart as a show. 

17- Do you write original stories? 

I don’t but I think about turning OPH: SV into an original series.

18 -  What other hobbies do you have?

I love playing video games. I’m not good, but I enjoy it. I’m super lame and don’t have many hobbies outside of writing and video games… I should get some lmao

1. coffee mugs, teacups, wine glasses, water bottles, or soda cans?

Hm! I guess I'd say... coffee mugs. But I never use them for coffee, just milk for dipping oreos in (via fork of course). Never had coffee. Grew up with Mormon parents and they ain't about that. Honestly think that's one of the biggest blessings of that unhappy upbringing: I never got addicted.

5. do you prefer to drink soda from soda cans, soda bottles, plastic cups or glass cups?

Glass! Hands down. Didn't drink soda of any kind as a kid, and plastic cups don't retain the cold or heat from drinks. Feels weird. And anything (especially milk) in a chilled glass (as in left in the fridge for a while before drinking) is just really Nice.

8. movies or tv shows?

Ooo, now this is a tough one! I like both, some movies are my favorite pieces of media (like Arashi no Yoru Ni subbed version not dubbed the dub intentionally literally tried to hide that it's a gay love story, biggest comfort movie for me), but I prefer TV shows in general. I like getting immersed in long stories, getting to know the characters and setting and seeing them evolve for hour upon hour. It's hard for a movie to give its story enough time to breathe. TV shows have issues with never knowing when to end (capitalism driving them forward long after a satisfying ending could happen, or canceling them before there is any ending at all), but movies do that too.

13. lanyard or key ring?

Key ring~! Never owned a lanyard, I think?

15. favorite book you read as a school assignment?

Um. Hm. That's... challenging. Because I have severe memory issues. I guess that honor goes (largely by default) to Dante's Inferno. I found it fascinating, historically and conceptually speaking.

16. most comfortable position to sit in?

Any position I can put my legs up! They do not like being on the floor!! I will legit stretch my legs to a different couch across from the one I'm on just to put my feet up, without realizing it!!!

20. preferred place to write (i.e., in a note book, on your laptop, sketchpad, post-it notes, etc.)?

On my desktop! Got over 200k stored on here now (after many years of not even a single paragraph), and damn does it feel nice to accomplish something~!

29. best way to bond with you?

Oh! Um, hm. Little embarrassed to say this, because it's super niche and not all my lovelies (I find the phrase "loved ones" so mechanical, I use the term "lovelies" instead) do it, and I feel selfish saying it! But I think the best way to bond with me is to talk shop creatively. Brainstorm ideas, read rough drafts, swap brainrot. I made all my friends through shared interests, but my beautiful beta readers have a special place in my heart (shoutout to those of ya still on tumblr!). That is not to say I do not strongly bond with people purely through shared interests, though! I do! Most of my lovelies are not beta readers. It's just that writing, and my writing being read, makes me happier than anything else - I do my best to reciprocate though, because to do otherwise would make me a jackass!

33. most used phrase in your phone?

I barely use my phone, because I'm a homebody who only leaves for groceries! I think it's "so sorry for the inconvenience" because I have to cancel appointments a lot. My life is one long comedy of chicanery and shenanigans, and things keep! Coming! Up!

34. advertisements you have stuck in your head?

Very first thought was the fucking "WEEEEE" pig in those Geico commercials, because my dad loved those, it will never leave my brain, nooo- no modern ones, haven't seen an ad in ages thanks to adblockers, the last straw was ads for that really ableist Shyamalan horror movie about the escaped elderly mental patients and i just couldn't take it anymore.

40. weirdest thing to ever happen at your school?

Another challenging one due to my massive memory problems! I racked my brain for over an hour on this one (first thing that sprang to mind could be identifying information about which school I went to, second thing that came to mind was just Tragedy), but finally remembered something: one day in the locker room somebody stuck a shoe in my lunch box. A fucking shoe. I do not remember the rest of the details, or if I ever figured out why someone stashed a grey laceless sneaker in my lunch box! I was too confused to even be bothered by what I think was a bullying attempt, to be perfectly honest!

44. favorite scent for soap?

Now this is challenging because of a different problem: most days I do not have a sense of smell, due to a childhood injury to my face! So every soap scent is basically the same to me, except on the rare days my nose works. I guess if I could make my own, cinnamon would be lovely. Or cotton candy. Or granny smith apples. Or rosewater. Hm. I guess every nice scent is my favorite, since I get to experience them so seldomly.

48. if you were a fruit, what kind would you be?

Tempted to make a lewd joke by saying peach or pear, buuut if I were to answer honestly... I think I see myself as an apple: thin skinned with a core nobody should eat. My friends tell me otherwise, and I'm starting to come around to their positive affirmations, but self hatred is a habit that digs deep and dies hard.

52. favorite font?

Never really perused fonts! I guess Verdana, since I find it the easiest to read. All my writing documents are in Verdana. If I could get away with a font that was composed of kickass logo letters (such as from, say, Kingdom Hearts) tho, I would!

58. four talents you’re proud of having?

I didn't see this one in the ask game, and now I feel a little bad I didn't ask you this one! T.T Um! First and foremost: I am proud of my ability to judge people's character. Always have been. I am not perfect, I've made some bad calls, but in general I am pretty good at telling if someone is a good person after getting to know them for a while. Sniffed out some backstabbing bastards and secret creeps before the people around me could before, multiple times. Second: I'm good emotional support. I'm proud of how I can help people out of really deep psychological pits. It's sometimes a huge problem, though, because my lovelies come to me for their problems all the time and being everyone's shoulder to cry on 24/7 can drive you crazy. It did drive me crazy! But I've gotten better at saying "I'm too overwhelmed to help right now, if I try we'll both be wrecks" and they've gotten better at going to other people more often, so, progress. Still there for folks, just can't do it as much as I used to. Third: I'm proud of my writing lately. Took me so many years to get to this point, but I feel so damn good about what I'm making. Fourth: fuckin uhhhh I guess my skill at shooters, I used to be a crack shot at Halo (covenant carbine, my beloved) back in high school and these days I'm kinda good at Splatoon (dualie main, giving chargers a try tho and I'm half decent at it).

64. favorite website from your childhood?

Fanfiction.net! Hands down! It's where I met my first circle of friends. It's where I first joined a fandom. I loved the stories there. Sad I'll probably never find some of them again, though.

71. least favorite pattern?

I mean the Iron Rule of Oligarchy sure is a drag. Joking, joking, I know this is referring to aesthetics. There is this ungodly pattern of wallpaper I've seen that's a yellow-beige background and has scattered American Revolutionary War period imagery. It's ugly as anything and I hate(d) it.

90. luckiest mistake?

Honestly? Joining Fanfiction.net. It's where I met my first circle of friends. Not all of them were good people. Some were very bad influences, actually. Things happened that hurt. But I survived. And the ones that were good people have remained my dearest lovelies for many years. Love them with all my heart.

My Bad Faith Media Recs:

(In which a thing i like a great deal is incredibly flawed/morally questionable/contains harmful themes & views/a combination of these)

Post-Shift 2 (Not morally bankrupt, just a powerful case study on how not to introduce players to new mechanics)

Clocktower 2: Ghost Head/The Struggle Within (IS morally bankrupt & does some absolute fuck-shit on NOT portraying DID, while also portraying things around it that are harmful. Plus, it's just bad to play, the only way you can get through this puzzle game is legit by using a walkthrough (because exploration gets you killed, & trial-&-error Do Not Work), + the endings are unsatisfactory & not worth your time to see)

Elfen Lied (maybe the worst piece of media I wish I could recommend more often, but will not due to how absolutely awful the content is. You NEED to look at the unconsenting media page before you touch this thing with a 100ft pole. It portrays some of the most abhorrent human behaviors, lays bare victims, showcasing their trauma for mere spectacle to keep an audience entertained. It repeatedly victimizes every single female member of the cast, either at an attempt at ""comedy,"" or to villain shorthand the villains while raising up the victims as sad characters you should heap sympathy upon, just so the protags can look like saints when they swoop in & help out. This is a constant re-iteration through an endless series of showcasing really heavy topics, with little to no care in how these topics are portrayed -- something that discusses a heavy subject but will never "handle it well." It's also kind of cathartic, for reasons I would need more paragraphs to explain. I watched it out of spite, & it instantly popped up to my favorite anime, & one of my favorite pieces of media, perhaps, before I got to the graveyard scene & went, "What the fuck?" & Had to stop watching, for a few weeks, only to come back & immediately adore it some more. It's so bad.)

Bendy & the Ink Machine (If you ever have interest in this series, your best way to experience it is by getting the sparx notes on the first game, then playing Bendy & the Dark Revival instead, which rehashes & references the first in a way I find derivative, but it ultimately a much better game to play. I think the first game is more interesting to talk about than it ever was to play, beyond maybe the first chapter -- but only if you treat it as a proof of concept, rather than the first of 5 entries in a single game. I cannot stress how shite it is to release your game in hacked up chunks that all need to be purchased, as basically paid dlc, & I also need to say that going back & making those previous versions unobtainable by mashing it all into one game that can instead be bought all at once does not erase what you were doing for years before that moment. I also need to say the devs are fucking awful for what they put their employees through -- that shit is dire. Also, the chapters are not at all cohesive, & do not "blend." At the end of one, you are teleported to the other, & the connective tissue is weak. The only 2 chapters that feel like they were planned together are 4 & 5, two chapters i speculate were likely originally intended to be 3 chapters, but were squashed into 2 when the devs inserted a new chapter for a character they previously had zero plans for after fans became incredibly interested in her. The series relies upon you reading alternative media like the novels & sequel to justify the first game & its ending. It's bad. It's so bad, & it makes me so angry that I have debated on getting into video essays exclusively to lay bare all the ways I despise this. It is my favorite game.)

I can’t say which restaurant I work at bc we 100% have a social media policy and the wages are bussin sO just know it’s a steak house and averages like, $30-50 per person, but we’re a chain.

A few months ago, we had a server, D, get fired for stealing from the company by getting pieces of checks voided out from tables that paid in cash. So, say the bill was $120, they gave him $160 to cover tip, he would get a manager card and void off food from the bill so when he cashed out at the end of the night, he made not only the $40 the table meant to leave him, but also the difference between the actual total, and the one he manipulated. This was discovered by a server who was also an hourly manager, C, and D was fired. It was a big scandal for like, a week and then we all got distracted by the fact that after the death of a previous manager we still hadn’t hired someone new and we were struggling by on two BOH managers.

(We still haven’t hired a new manager. It’s been four months it’s truly crazy. Like waiting a little bit was appropriate to me but damn man we need someone else on the team now. We’re literally borrowing managers from other stores around the country. Last week we had a guy from tennessee, we’ve had a guy from texas. We’re close to the corporate office so right after it happened the LITERAL EXECUTIVE CHEF FOR THE COMPANY came to like, cut meat and make salads and shit. It was wild, I got to tell him he designed an appetizer that looked like a vagina, because he did.0

ANYWAY. Today, during a decently chill shift, we started talking because we’re a restaurant and gossip is a currency. AND I LEARNED THE MANAGER WHO GOT D FIRED, C, WAS IN ON THE GIG THE WHOLE TIME. HE WAS DOING THE SAME THING, AND HAS BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR.

Like, there’s an internal investigation right now, and the rough estimates for lost money is in the ten thousand dollars range. The company is looking into the legal actions because what looked like petty theft turned into fucking grand larcany and our GM is in so much trouble likely because he’s supposed to go over all the voids every week and it looks like he was just submitting the report without reading it. THey could have caught this so much faster if he had been oH MY GOD

but also one of my favorite coworkers got fired for a dumb reason. (There were legit reasons to fire him, tbh. Home boy was always late and left early and would leave and come back, but he was reliable as hell on the line.)

it’s just a lot to happen at a restaurant in one week. And we literally did have a manager die and have to cover shifts for the like, five employees he was related to. Christmas was crazy Corporate basically approved us for unlimited OT and our District manager like, moved into our store for a few weeks.

But yeah, I already have the story plotted so this won’t make it into hands off hands out but OH MAN IF I DIDN”T I still wouldnt use it because I tried to use it when we thought it was just D stealing and it wasn’t really a story i was interested in telling tbh? It just didn’t fit into the tone of the whole thing.

At the moment, 911 all thanks to @beachbabey and @nobody7102!! This show actually got me back in a groove of watching since I barely watched anything for the past two months. Am really starting to love situational shows like this and Grey’s Anatomy, and the characters (at least the ones I’ve met so far) are so wonderfully written. Also, they’re firemen 😌

I know you might think I am kidding, but I am being a million percent truthsies over here. As a child, I always wondered what married people talked about, and was assured by many a family member that there were always things to discuss.

This is a lie. A big, fat one.

It’s really unfortunate that no one was truthful with me, because here I am with nothing to say and completely unprepared on how to deal. My husband and I go on a weekly date night and after I go into detail about my wild day working from home (I ate a Lean Cuisine, I answered three emails, I found a dollar in the wash), I have nothing.

The other day I started to tell my husband about this super interesting thing that had happened, but then I was like, “oh never mind, I’m saving that for our date tonight” and he’s like “um, WHAT?” and I was like, “well, when I’ve got something good I save it for date night so I have something to talk about. It seems like such a waste to spend it on a regular day.”

So then he thought that was one of the weirdest things he’s ever heard about, which I assumed maybe HE already did that too? But he was like, “No, people do not do that.”

It’s like I don’t know how to be a person the right way sometimes.

Every now and again my husband will ask, “did you bake anything today, hon?”  and if I made Créme Bruleé Brownies I say “nope” because I’m hiding them and don’t want to share.

These fudgy little bites of bliss are covered in a thick vanilla custard that slices up like a dream. A sprinkling of sugar and a run under the broiler gets that caramelized, crackly top.

Basically, these are perfect and you need them right now. That is all.
