Legacy Legion {Birthday Drabble}

She just finished wrapping up her legs for her morning run. That was one of her favorite things to do in the morning. It helped her wake up a little more. She trotted out the front the door, closed it, and started to gallop down the drive way. And then down the road. She slowly broke out into a full on run. Legacy ran as fast as her four legs could take her. After an hour or so, before she headed back to her house. She walked in through the door and cleaned off her hooves before heading to the kitchen for some breakfast. She met her mother in the kitchen and greeted her.

"Hey, mom." said Legacy.

"Hey, sweetheart. How was your run?"

Legacy smiled. "It was fangtastic."

"Good to hear. Fruit salad?"

She nodded. "Yes, please."

Legacy quickly washed her hands and started to help her mother prepare the fruit. They cleaned, peeled, and cut the fruit into bite sized pieces. Then they sat at the kitchen table and started eating. Legacy looked up at her mom.

"Where's dad?" she asked.

her mom looked up from her bowl. "He left for work a little while after you left. Sorry, hon."

Legacy shrugged. "It's fine. You gotta do what you gotta do, right?"

Her mom smiled and reached out to hold Legacy's hand. 

"That's right."

Legacy smiled back and returned to eating. Once they were done, they started to clean up. "Mom," Legacy started.

Her mom turned to her. "What's up?"

"It's my birthday today."

"Mmmm hmm..."

"Do you think we could just, order take out and watch a movie on Netflix? You know? Nothing fancy."

Her mom smiled with a soft chuckle. "If that's what you want, absolutely."

After cleaning and tidying the house, Legacy and her mom relaxed for the day until her father came back. They ordered from her favorite take-out place, and chose one of the newest releases. They all sat back and enjoyed the movie. Legacy loved just spending a little down time with her parents. What better way to celebrate her birthday?
