Today the Concert Junkie got her fix at the 2016 Van’s Warped Tour. I made it through 9 different bands while maintaining a front row position for 8 of them. I made it through mosh pits that I never through I would make it through before (New Found Glory, Less Than Jake, Sum 41), found a new band to listen to (Pepper), and got to indulge my inner middle schooler (Good Charlotte). While those experiences are all awesome in their own right by far the best part of the day for me was seeing Yellowcard for the final time.

I have been listening to Yellowcard since Ocean Avenue first got major airplay on Radio Disney and to see them stop making music is heartbeaking, but I understand they may need the rest (Fall Out Boy took a 6 year hiatus, Good Charlotte just got back together after like 10 years who knows maybe Yellowcard will come back to us fans.)

I have loved this music and it has had such a profound effect on me that I started to cry when Ryan announced that they would finish by playing songs form Ocean Avenue. I’m sure I looked a hot mess screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs while crying and sweating and jumping around like a lunatic, but I could give a rat’s ass. I enjoyed the hell out of that performance and I am sad to see them go, but I have come full circle. I First saw Yellowcard perform live at Warped Tour and I finished seeing them live at Warped Tour.

I wish the boys all the best of luck in their future projects and I can’t wait until my next concert fix ;)
