This isn’t saying you shouldn’t write bad or sad stories or anything, but from Gaster’s perspective as a character in those stories of course he’d want “happy” endings, haha.

But anyway, I kept telling you guys that when Handplates was over I would tell you. Well... here we are. After seven long years, here we are.

When I started I never thought I’d make it. To be honest, it doesn’t feel real to me at all. My brain still expects to do another page in about two weeks as it always does. I assume it’ll take a while to sink in. There’s a lot to say but this post is already incredibly long (sorry), so it’s probably suited to its own post.

But for all of you out there who read this story, whether you were there from the beginning or just came in now, thank you so much. And for all of you that were inspired by this comic, who created things for it, who blessed me with so many amazing gifts of art and fic and music and dubs and videos and so much more... I don’t know how to thank you enough. I never dreamed that an idle idea could have come this far or had such an impact on my life and so many people, but it did.

I kind of feel at a loss for words... again it’s very surreal. But I will say that Gaster wondering whether the kid is an actual human or not has an unintended level to it since my avatar is a fox but it’s TOO LATE NOW I GUESS lol.

OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

(from a discussion I had with a friend a bit ago) Hey isn't it really weird how Spearmaster's campaign handles Moon?

The chain of plot events goes that: SRS gives FP self-destruction taboo removal instructions > FP uses insane amounts of water executing it at an ill-advised scale, harming Moon in the process > Moon forces him to stop, he fucks up and gets the rot, Moon is still dying > SRS sends Spearmaster over to FP with a fucking apology letter???

I get that he's SRS's friend, but. There is something more severe happening here than Pebbles being angry. SRS, Moon is on fire right next to him. Yet no action is taken about this, not even bothering to ask her "Hey why didn't you stop him from actively killing you? Are you unable to in some way? Can we help?". It's like, it's like an arsonist setting a house on fire, and then fussing about the arsonist getting burned a little. While somebody's still in the house.

Also she's so uncharacteristically accepting of her death. Y'know? She was begging him to stop, but to Spearmaster she's just "ohh it's too late for me.. send the guys a goodbye letter why don't you?". There's the COLOSSAL missed opportunity of further investigating why she let him hurt her for that long, why she endured beyond the tipping point, but it feels like that intrigue to her character was forgotten. Instead she exists largely to further Pebbles' own arc, passive and mild in comparison. And it sucks! I believe this is probably a symptom of Downpour being so pebbles-centric, which really neutered the story here.

With Watcher's release imminent, I think it's worth pointing out that the void-like cracks behind Watcher in the OST teaser art form the shape of butterfly wings! Or, alternatively, moth wings, which is particularly interesting considering one of the new creatures is—presumably—a moth (and one of the teased songs is simply called Big Moths).

This could be quite relevant to how Watcher's been so heavily associated with ripples, and time, which naturally brings the butterfly effect to mind.

Because we don't have any substantial lore details for Watcher at the moment there isn't really anything to make of this beyond that, but maybe it'll be important as more is revealed. Or maybe it's just a coincidence, or stylistic choice, which is also likely to be honest.

I don't really have plans to turn this into a full story, but I definitely plan on expanding the lore and exploring the world in the near future. The TADC cast is so fun to interpret as humans.
