When you walk into your apartment, you forget about taking your shoes off and head to your living room, collapsing onto your fluffy area rug.

You run your hands over the carpet, listening solely on the fan in the corner next to your tv. You don't even want to think about where your dog is, you don't even want to think period.

You phone buzzed in your pocket and you take it out, really hoping it's not your parents, hoping that it's one of your friends. Too bad it was wishful thinking, your wishes have never come true, except for when you debuted.

It was your dad, or the man that once was your dad, saying that you were delusional and you are still doing the wrong thing. He's been saying that since you debuted, since you said you wanted to be a singer. He doesn't say it, but you know he sees you as a disappointment. That you're wasting time.

Your arm falls back to your side, your phone buzzes next to you a couple more times and you don't feel like picking it back up.

Suddenly your ceiling covered in stars from your projector are blurry, you're struggling to catch your breath and your heart is in your ears.

You let out a choked sob, bringing your other arm up to throw it over your eyes, you bring your left leg up and don't even realize you've moved your arm off your face, clenching your teeth and choking out sobs as you firmly punch your thigh, your breath getting heavier to the point it feels like your hanging on the edge of each breath, barely breathing enough in and not letting enough out.

You sob out a barely heard mutter of your dog's name, he was a trained German Shepard to help when your anxiety got too high. You've had him since before trying out to be an idol and your parents almost threatened to take him to a shelter before your trainee dorm mate found out you had him and let you bring him over.

You were so close to loosing your dog and you were incredibly thankful to your roommate every day, even when you debuted with him. Your lucky Hyunjin loved dogs.

You try to say his name a bit louder but a sob cuts you off and behind the throbbing in your ears you hear the clicks of his nails on your floor approaching, you can mentally feel him over you before he laid on you, putting weight on your chest after shoving his snout between your leg and hand to put distance so you stop hurting yourself. He was licking your face but it wasn't working which made you panic more. Your breaths were practically gasps, like you were drowning.

Your dog then scampered off of you and you heard him trot away, his claws clicking slowly fading. Why is he leaving?! He never leaves unless your breath settles, where did he go?!

After a muffled bark, a few seconds later you feel him lay next to you and another muffled noise comes in through the blood pumping in your ears. Your dog is licking your arm as you feel another weight on top of you. Your dog then moves to lick your nose and you turn away because it was gross but it also reminded you through your mental fog to try and breath through your nose, something helping you wipe the slobber off your face before you feel it on the side of your face.

Your hand then moves and suddenly you feel another heart beat at the same time a cold cloth was on your forehead and something combed through your hair.

Your chest slowly loosens and with it you finally let out your sobs, crying out loud and letting out everything in your chest. Your hair still being brushed, the weight still on your chest, and you can feel your dog's paws on your arm.

When your energy as depleted and your sobs are gentle huffs, you finally open your eyes but more tears gather in your eyes when you realized just who your dog brought to you.

"Hey, Hey, it's okay. It's okay, Nn." One of the voices says gently and the feeling of a hand rubbing your chest is now identifiable.

"S- Sor- I-I'm-" "Hey, hey, it's okay. Don't apologize, Nn, it's okay." You open your eyes again, blinking away the tears at your lash line, before you meet the eyes of one of your boyfriends. "L-Lix-" "It's okay." He continues to brush a hand through your hair, his face was still sleep ridden, hair a fluffy mess and you let out a whimper. "W-Woke....You...."

He shook his head, smiling down at you gently. "Making sure you're okay is more important. Although I think Hyung fell asleep again." There a grumble before you felt the male laying on you shift slightly when your dog started licking him. "Mm-no, 'm still here..." Felix snickered before combing his other hand through Minho's hair. "Barely." the younger mutters with a gentle smile.

Felix then looked back to you, a gentle light from the hall illuminated his face. "What caused it?" "Dad..." "Okay." They knew about your family, how you were treated, so that all the clarification he needed.

You laid in the living room for a little while longer before Minho grunts as he sits up then stands with a kiss to your forehead. "You're comfy but the floor isn't, let's go to bed." You weakly chuckle before the both of them help you up. You pet your dogs head, giving him a treat from the container on the end table before walking away with the boys. "Sorry about him, Min." "It's okay. He helps you so he's lucky." You laugh, leaning on him as you wrap your arms around him. "I have a cat at home with my sister. If so can, I'll bring her next time." "You do?" He perked up and you chuckle lightly, kissing his cheek at his cuteness with the mention of a cat.

Walking to the bedroom, Felix is already under the blankets and you send your dog over to his corner before getting in bed with him, Minho slides in behind Felix and you both squish him in the middle and he giggles lightly, arms wrapped over Minho's that are around his waist as he buries his face into your neck, your own right arm draping over the both of them as you shift to place a kiss to Felix's shoulder then settle back on the pillow.

Who cares if your parents thinks your making a mistake with being an idol, all that matters is you have your sister and a new family, boys who believe in you and love you.

I tried to write as best as I could and I hope I did it justice. 

I also apologize for switching POV/writing style in the middle of this but for some reason it felt better writing these two styles for the different reactions.

Warnings: None I think, maybe a slight mention of shyness, possibly a bit of anxiety if you squint.

Bang Chan, Changbin, Felix, Han

These four would find it adorable that their s/o was comfortable enough around them to just act however they wanted to. When around strangers (Y/n) would be more quiet, keeping close to their boyfriend, and anxious about meeting new people. However, when it was just (Y/n) and Chan/Binnie/Felix/Han or maybe the other boys around, (Y/n) would be loud and outgoing, feeling safe and comfortable in their presence. Chan/Binnie/Felix/Han all felt their hearts swell with pride and love as they knew they were a safe space for their s/o, just as (Y/n) was for them. 

Han related so much to how (Y/n) acts as they are quite similar personality-wise, so he understands why they sometimes don’t talk as they usually would if someone new is around or if there’s a large group of people. Though he loves that both he and (Y/n) can be outgoing and loud with each other, while it might be harder once the two are out alone as both are introverted, usually Han finds some courage in himself to be the more extroverted one but sometimes (Y/n) is the one to do that. No matter who is the more extroverted one, they both need the other to stand close by, holding their hand, so they don’t have to do it all on their own. 

Changbin loves to talk and do things, he’s not afraid to make a fool of himself so he loves it when (Y/n) can act silly with him, whenever they are out and (Y/n) goes into quiet introvert mode, Changbin is their number 1 protector, always observing their body language and the second he sees them being uncomfortable, he’s picking up his jacket, ready to leave. 

Felix might be an extrovert but many times he’s quite calm, compared to some others in his group, but with (Y/n) he always matches their energy, ready to be whatever they need. If (Y/n) needs him to be super energetic and bouncing off the walls with them, he’ll do it, if (Y/n) needs some quiet time just cuddling and watching a movie, he’s on the couch with open arms ready for a movie marathon. He loves the moments when they’re being silly and loud together but as physical touch and quality time is a big thing for him as well, he truly cherishes their quiet time. 

Chan is a combination of all three boys above, he is a man who will do everything he can to make sure his s/o is safe, comfortable, and happy, so if that means (Y/n) distracting him from work sometimes with random conversations or sudden exclamations, or him being the one to make every phone call for (Y/n), he doesn’t mind it. As long as he gets to be with you, he’s happy to do anything. 

Minho, Seungmin, Hyunjin, Jeongin

These four are wildcards, sometimes you can’t keep them quiet, and other times they’ll just be sitting in the chaos observing the world around them. So having a s/o that is similar to them but also often quite loud when it’s just the two of them or when they are around friends they feel safe with, is shocking at times. It’s easy to forget that your s/o is an introvert when they have been screaming song into the mic at the karaoke for the last 2 hours without a care in the world, but then they are reminded of the introvert they love as they are too shy to order a drink on their own. 

Minho thinks it’s kind of cute and fits well with him, he’s often laid back, preferring to observe the chaos rather than participate in it, a man who loves doing acts of service so ordering a drink for you is just the perfect way for him to show his love for you. Seungmin is similar to Minho when it comes to the acts of service, of course, he’ll sing a song with you, oh you wanna sing it in a silly way, of course, he’ll do that, you want an iced tea and you’re too scared to order it on your own, he’s on it, he’ll even throw in an order for a dessert for you. 

Hyunjin doesn’t understand where you find the energy to run around chasing Han throughout the dorm as you both laugh loudly, he isn’t even sure how this chase started but he will sit on the couch, smiling to himself as he sees the wide smile and the sparkle in your eyes, he loves seeing you like this, just living your best life, and then once you’ve calmed down a little, you go over to him, sitting down in his lap as he wraps his arms around, putting his chin on your shoulder, “Hey love, having fun?” “Yeah, how about you?” “I’m having a wonderful time watching you laugh and smile like this, wish I could paint it, you look so beautiful,”

Jeongin loves running around with his members, acting like a child, what he loves even more than that is when you join in on the playing. Running around playing with water guns, spraying each other, laughing, screaming, other people around on the beach only sigh and shake their heads at the nine young adults acting like 5-year-olds. “Want to go buy some ice cream?” He asks to try and get some alone time with you, “Of course!” The two of you walk away to the ice cream truck, you excitedly look at all the flavors, deciding on (flavor), and Jeongin decided on his own favorite flavor, you stand in line, but once it is time to order, you shyly looked at Jeongin who instantly understood that you wished for him to order for you which he happily does all the time.

minho watches you as you come inside the bedroom. he’s missed you all day, it was his day off yet you were cooped up in the studio with jisung all day. it was your day off too. yet you chose to work.

he notices how you’re awfully quiet. had you not seen that he was in your room?

“ah, did you eat what i took you?” minho asks when you start changing into something to sleep in.

you turn to look at him over your shoulder. he’s bewildered at how cold your eyes seem, no— you’re tired. duh. you didn’t look at him like that when he dropped the food off earlier, right? he thinks. remembering back— you didn’t look at him that time, you were too immersed in the beats you and jisung were making. you barely acknowledged him. your “love you, be safe back to the dorm” felt normal, so he had given it no thought. or… did you sound disinterested?

“yeah,” you say dryly, putting your dirty clothes in your basket.

“oh, okay,” he says. he questions the heaviness in his heart.

what’s going on? is he really upset for your cold tone? your cold shoulder? everyone has bad days, maybe the managers said something that upset you? or jyp? he tries not to think about it, just stares at your back as you sleep. he was hoping you’d cuddle him, that always helps you when you’re in a bad mood.

is he… not reliable anymore?

“y/n?” he asks softly, hoping you’d be awake.

you are. you just can’t bring yourself to talk to him, to see him… to acknowledge him. you don’t know why and that’s what hurts. you screw your eyes shut when you feel his finger trace a soft line on your back. that cute action that reminds you of a cat messing with you when you’re sleeping isn’t warming your cold heart. it upsets you so.

seeing how you don’t react, minho pulls his hand back. he hugs the plushie he had gifted you for your anniversary, it’s a white goofy f/c cat that reminded him of you. you didn’t kick him out of your room, so maybe he’s just overthinking.

yeah… it has to be that.

yet, when morning comes and he’s not greeted by a good morning kiss…

“kiss,” he demands.

you stare at him, not even glancing down at his lips or anything, just blankly staring at him. the atmosphere is weird, it’s… not loving. he purses his lips, understanding that he will not be getting a kiss. what’s happening? he sits up, your eyes go back to your phone.

“yah,” he snatches the device away and shoves it under his thigh. you glare at him, “did i do something?” he asks, upset, “what’s going on?”

there, he asked it.

“the hell are you talking about, minho?” you move about and try to take your phone back, but your shoved back. “give me my phone back.”

he glares at you, trying to read you.

“my phone, now.”

he takes your phone out from beneath him, but instead of giving it back, he unlocks it and goes through it. you try to take it back, but he moves around and constantly blocks you from doing so. you have nothing to hide. you wouldn’t do him dirty like that. app after app, minho finds nothing. yet, why does that make him feel worse?

“give me that,” you huff when you finally snatch it out of his hands.

he stares at his empty hands before looking at you. he… he doesn’t know how to feel.

“l/n y/n…. what the fuck?” he asks, glaring at you.

you give him a look. minho’s hair is still a mess, the sleep is still evident in his features. he looks silly… but why can’t you adore it right now?

“i think we should break up.”

“….what?”

after days of feeling nothing but cold heaviness, your heart feels crushed. minho is someone who always holds a stern expression. minho doesn’t like to worry others with his feelings. sure, he’s shown more of his softer sides to the group, but you’ve seen him anxious, sad and insecure.

but heartbroken? it was something you never wanted to see from him, much less cause it.

yet here you are, dropping the words you’ve prayed you’d never utter.

minho’s staring at you. his eyes flicker across your face. you notice the way he grips the sheets. the way his lips twitch. you could almost hear the broken pieces of his heart pump like crazy for survival.

“eh- what are you talking about?” his voice cracks.

goodness, what are you doing?

“you love me. what are you saying?” he says, eyes wide and still flickering between your eyes and lips and the room.

he wants to cry. he’s confused. you know him too well.

“i don’t…” you inhale when his eyes still on something in the bed. maybe the plushie? “i don’t know… minho… i just feel so… blank. i… can’t even bother with myself… how can i bother with you? i hate that… that you’ve felt like a burden.”

“oh…” a burden? had he done something? “when… did you start feeling like this?”

you sigh, unsure. it’s embarrassing. “i… don’t know actually. suddenly we don’t feel compatible.”

he blinks, finally staring at you again. he realizes how you’ve suddenly pulled back, you started working more, selling beats and putting everything before him. at some point he got too bored of being in the studio with you all day. you’d abandon him in the dorms, you’d listen less to what he has to say.

“try. please,” he begs.

you stare at the wall across from you. you have posters mounted up, some vinyl cases, a picture of him and you on your anniversary outing. his body on top of you feels surreal. he’s warm… your not that cold anymore.

“i am trying, but i don’t know why it’s not working. i don’t know— maybe i’m broken in more ways than one.”

he’s crying. something is soaking up your shirt. you know it’s his tears.

“minho…”

his sadness always turns to anger. “you know what this is? my love for you and your love for me are different because of you. i’d give you my life without you asking, but you wouldn’t even give me a moment of your time because your time is too precious to waste on me.”

you look at his glassy eyes. his nose is red and his weight on your lap is more unbearable by the second.

“you said you’d never do that.”

ah…. you did.

you hug him, tight and with a slight tremble. you screw your eyes shut. you love him, you know you do. you’re just having a mental block. it has to be that.

“okay baby…. i’m sorry…” you whisper.

and he clings to you like his life depends on it.

you click your tongue in annoyance, “ugh, hold on, hyunjin is all up on me.” you glare up at the blonde, who stares at you with surprise.

he’s already insecure of whether people like him for who he is or for his looks. you’ve always helped him with his insecurities. he doesn’t get upset when you’re too deep in your video games, but lately he’s been out modeling and with a hectic schedule. he misses you. you always let him lay on you or sit on your lap while playing but now that he tried, you got aggravated.

sometimes you glare at him playfully, but today it doesn’t feel like that.

“um, i’ll be on your bed,” he says, upset that you practically sighed and went back to your video game without responding.

and he feels alone again. even in your room, he feels unseen. all week he’d been out modeling and socializing, it’s draining. he’s not a very social person, he tries of course, you always push him to take chances but he feels so drained. he wanted to be with you, in your arms.

everyone sees him for his looks. everyone talks to him for his skills. yet, you always talk to him about the most randomest things. you make him feel important in ways the world doesn’t. it’s the second day he’s been back from his busy schedule. yesterday you were at the studio all day, didn’t even know he had returned.

he had expected you to get off early to come see him but you didn’t. he’s already upset at that, of course he knew you were busy even on your days off. you’re a workaholic.

yet, not even a text? he and felix went to check up on you and chan in the evening. maybe he’s overthinking, maybe he’s being dramatic — but you didn’t even seem happy to have seen him. you hugged him, sure. you let him pepper your face with kisses, sure. but… he doesn’t remember feeling that warmth of being with you again after so long.

“are you going to sleep here?” you ask.

he looks away from his phone. he was staring at a random video, not realizing how much time had passed.

“do you want me to leave?” he asks as he sits up to look at you.

“uh, yeah?” you’re not looking at him.

he watches you move around, turning off your pc and setting your controls in their designated place.

“oh… uh, okay?” he collects his blanket and his phone. “um…. baby are you okay?” he asks, still sitting on your bed.

you sigh, glancing at him over your shoulder. “yeah, why?”

he fidgets, “you kinda… haven’t really spent time with me since i came back.”

“just figured you wanted your space from being surrounded by so many people.”

he frowns, “well, yeah but… i mean not you guys and especially not you… i love you.”

there’s sadness in his tone, you can hear it. you genuinely can’t remember when you thought so bitterly of his presence. is it because everyone acknowledges his talents? his skills? is it because suddenly he started outshining you? what is it? why do you feel so bitter?

“right, well,” you shrug, walking over to your bed. “we should go to sleep, i think we have a meeting with the managers tomorrow evening.”

hyunjin hesitates before getting up. “ah… okay…” he stares at you, as you crawl into bed. “good night.”

“mm, good night.”

“love you.”

“mhm, see you tomorrow.”

hyunjin isn’t someone who gets angry over this. sure he playfully gets upset and puts up a tantrum but the atmosphere is not one to do so. he suddenly sees how uninterested you are of him. has he done something?

“so, is this what we are now? two people who can’t say ‘i love you’ to each other?” he asks, glaring at you. he’s not mad, why does he sound mad? why did he say it like that?

“sorry,” you say, sounding as genuine as you possibly can. “i love you baby, good night.”

he isn’t satisfied with that, but seeing as you genuinely look like you’re going to sleep, he takes it. he goes to his room and sleeps with a heavy heart. he had hoped to be cuddled up with you. to talk about anything and everything. the next day you’re the same, he doesn’t notice it, because you and 3RACHA are hooked up with studio work.

he mentions it. over text. he’s not a coward, but this time he was scared to even see the expression on your face in case what he’s thinking is true. yet, you lie. what would he know? it’s over text. you calm him down, shower him with reassurance and even go as far as saying you’ll take takeout to eat while watching his favorite show.

it works. he doesn’t suspect a thing. you cuddle up to him and as much as that envy and bitterness is still evident, you try. you try to love him and bring out that genuine love you’ve always had for him. yet, you feel horrible. why can’t you love him like before? why does he have to be so loved by everyone else?

you’re back to square one the next day.

and he notices the pattern eventually.

“i can't do this. i can't be everything to you one minute, then nothing to you the next." he says early in the morning one day.

everyone is already out and in the van, you and him had stayed back because you two chose to sleep in for one more minute. you’re running late if you both don’t leave that door now. yet, you feel like you’re late. late in doing what you’ve had pending for days.

“then let’s breakup.” you say coldly.

he grips his bag strap, staring at you under his bucket hat. “i- i didn’t say it for us to breakup over, i just- i want to understand what’s going on, y/n.”

you side eye him before continuing to shove your things in your bag. “with the way you said it, i thought you’re over us.”

“no, i—“ hyunjin looks around, “i’m just- did i do something? did something happen? why are you suddenly weird to me? you don’t say i love you unless i point it out. you clearly ignore my existence some days and then you’re all over me when i point it out.”

“what a fucking lie, you know it.” you grit, glaring at him. “we have nothing anymore, nothing but group title, nothing but teamwork.” you pause when you see the tears in his eyes. you take a step back, realizing this isn’t what you can deal with anymore. not as a partner. “i’ll love you, hyunjin…. just not like before. all i can offer you is our music career and mutual affection. nothing more-“

⠀⠀ the way your free hand swept and dragged people's hair — moreover if they pissed you off. it reminded him how you'd also drag his hair when you were children, your laughter and serene aura gave him modest comfort. yet you disappeared without a trace. he was worried sick; where had you been?

"You can hold the other one, baby. Wolfie will never left go," he reassured, smiling when you eventually took it. Chan chuckled, "Good job, little one," he said, pleased that you took it. Your heart swelled with affection, the wolf paw in your palm felt reassuring. Chan watched you and cautiously let go of WolfChan. Your eyes widened when he did but then you remembered that Wolfie didn't let go and kept his promise. Chan smiled, "See even if Daddy end up letting go, little one. Wolfie will always hang on. Daddy will try his best to always hold your hand too. That's a a promise I'll never break too," he said, carefully patting your hair.

Hyunjin watched you for a long while. Your avoidance behavior sent an ache through his heart. You sighed, your touched starved heart aching to be held but your anxiety dread the feeling of lost. Jisung's empathy synced with yours, "Are you scared of someone letting go?" he asked and you clutched the plush in response. Jisung nodded, "Don't cry, hm? It's normal to want to hold on. Nobody calls babies clingy just because they want their parents close right? It's absolutely normal, sweetheart," he reassured, wiping your tears. "It's alright," he said, giving you a subtle smile. "You're alright," he whispered, stroking your cheek.

Lee Felix

"A sunbeam," he gasped, trying to pulling you into a hug. You flinched away, instantly worrying him. His heart sank, "Did Mommy scare you, sunshine? Mommy didn't mean too, he just got excited that a pretty sunbeam like you is in his house," he cooed, watching you with intrigue and affection. You looked away from his sparkling gaze. Felix chuckled and held up a brownie in front of you, "Take a bite. Mommy made it himself," he said, pride swelling in his chest when you did. The sweet fudge taste unceremoniously dropped your walls. You didn't expect yourself to gradually crawl on his lap for another bite. Felix beamed at the progress and allowed you to adjust yourself in his hold, "Precious little sunshine. No one will ever let go of you again," he whispered, feeding you another bite.

Seungmin scrolled through his phone, he never initiated any type of touch before and it wasn't going to change now. You eyed him with slight intimidation. Seungmin smirked, looking at you, "What do you want, munchkin?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Your breath hitched and you looked away.
