kit and joel win two third class tickets on the famed titanic’s maiden voyage in a lucky hand of poker. they’re headed for america on a grand adventure. meanwhile, ares and leda gaunt, along with their parents, are headed to new york for leda’s wedding to the son of a rich businessman. the family is down on their luck and in desperate need to make good matches for both siblings. neither leda nor ari wants to get married so the trip feels more like a prison than a luxurious cruise. ren godfrey is particularly interested in locating a diamond rumoured to have belonged to king louis xiv. the ship of dreams has more than one surprise in store for all of them.
