Norton Anthology of Doin Your Mom
#i was looking in the library today at the norton anthology of english literature (either fourth or fifth edition)#and i was like 'what is the date of this book? this looks older than the used norton anthology of poetry i saw in a shop the other day'#'and i think that was a later edition--'#but i got it confused. i saw a 1994 edition of the norton anthology of poetry.#(i own the 1983 norton anthology of poetry. i got it for $3.99 at savers four years ago)#so the fifth edition of the norton anthology of ENGLISH LITERATURE. might've been older#text post#i can't believe i'd mix those up. but to me when i'm in the early-modern english section of the library im really only giving a shit#about poetry. so if i see 'literature' that better just be poetry. none of that prose bull crap!#my brain conflated it with what i would rather have been looking at#so then i skimmed through 'the women poets in english' (1972) compiled by ann stafford#oh no wait. stanford.#i had to look this book up to get the editor correct and google was no use so i had to go to the library catalogue. ugh.#that looked interesting but eventually i checked out a book id been meaning to read for awhile#triumphal forms: structural patterns in elizabethan poetry (1970) by alistair fowler#oh wait. alastair*#blah names are hard#because those of you who know me know there's nothing i like more than structural patterns and elizabethan poetry#just. nothing on this earth.#leaving my husband for a sonnet by john donne. bye
