何を作りたいかということ

先日無事に終えたポップアップ。 今回はその準備のはなし。 実はこの久々のイベントに向けて、どんな作品をお披露目しようか決まるまで、紆余曲折がありました。 自然豊かな暮らしに突入し、コロナ禍もあり都会と分断されてしまった２年間。それはそれで心を解きほぐすことも数多くありましたが、日々の暮らしの中に、街の喧騒がなくなり、外へ出ても日常的に人とあまり遭遇しない毎日。

そんな中、いざ制作することになり 何を作ろうか、自分はどんなものを欲しているのか。 小さな問いかけからはじまったものの、これまでは暮らしている中で自然と浮かんできたイメージや、形があったのだけど、何故か浮かんでこない。どうしたものか。 制作モードに頭のチャンネ���がなかなか合っていかない���いう感じ。 自然と目に入ってきた素敵なファッションに身を包んだ人やどこか目を惹く魅力的な人、洗練されたショップやプロダクトたち。決してキラキラとした日々を過ごしていたわけでもなかった筈だけど、いつでもそんな街が隣にある暮らしから一変し、肌で感じることができない中、想像だけで自分の作りたいものを見つけて行くのは思った以上にとても難しかった。

元々東京とはいえ、静かな郊外で生まれ育ち、中心地に毎日のように出向くタイプでもなく。それでも無意識に感じ取っていた何かがあり、その空気は郊外に住んでいてもどこか感じられ、またそれがどれほど私自身のクリエイティビティに影響があったのかに気付いていなかったのです。

代わりに手に入ったものは、大自然と美しい雪景色と静かな2人暮らし。 自然豊かな暮らしの中で、創作意欲が開花する人もいるだろうし、わたしもこの暮らしのどこかと自分の創作源が繋がって、しっくりとくる時が来るかもしれない。むしろそれをずっと欲している。けど移住二年が過ぎた今回気づいたのは、暮らしの充実と私が理想としてきたファッションに対するクリエイティビティを刺激する��境は、別の部分がある、ということでした。

そんな中で、どう自分が表現し、何を生み出したいのだろう。 そもそもの根本部分で躓くのは、はじめての経験です。 どうにかイメージを思い描けるようになるまで、Webでも膨大な資料をみて、これまで集めた資料もたくさん見返します。資料の中からイメージを膨らませ、こんなものが作りたいかもしれない。という思いに至るまで想像以上に時間がかかり、段々と焦りも出てきました。

それでも過去に集めた資料の中には自分の好きな世界が無限に広がっていて（二つ前のjournalでそんな話を）。そして、コロナ禍でどうにか帰省した時に感じた、外から見た眩い東京、という感覚。 一連のこれらは消してネガティブなだけではなく、私自身に新たな課題と学びを与え、率直な自分自身の今の現状を教えてくれた出来事でした。ようやく見えてきた作りたいもの。 そのときのことをまた改めてお話したいと思います。
