🐀 What is your Mouse Kings name?

Oh this is a great question! XD And the answer may surprise you. I had to go boot up my old phone to find where I put that detail, since apparently I stuffed it in an old notes app that didn't transfer when I changed phones this year.

The royal Mouserinks lineage goes as follows:

Leander the Nightmarish

Augustus the Demanding

Eclaire the Duplicator

Esper the Whisperer

Willow Leona the Lioness

Leander the Destroyer

The story goes like this: when Augustus was prince many many years ago, he had a strong distaste for his father, Leander. Leander, the king, was incredibly cruel and didn't really have the people's best interest in mind as far as Augustus could see. The two butted heads often, and Augustus was eager for the day he would be crowned king so he could make up for his father's failings. But the mouse king, unbeknownst to everyone, cast a horrible curse on the crown, so that whoever inherited his throne would be bent to his will and run the kingdom his way. It turned several perfectly good rulers into absolute monsters. Willow Leona was the mouse queen responsible for cursing Hans to be a nutcracker. Her son was named Leander as an homage to the old ruler, and he was the mouse king that Hans put an end to before inheriting the throne.

The next in line was his brother, Bertle's father, who refused to take the crown, for while he hadn't figured out everything about the curse, he refused to be a king, the king always got killed, it was not a fate he wanted. So he and Hans instead had an alliance to keep both of their people at peace. Bertle actually grew up alongside Hans' two daughters, Elizabeth and Wilhelmina, along with his cousin Angel. But of course, when everything happened with the coup and his father getting framed for Clara's death, it all fell apart. Bertle and Angel have both been in hiding in different parts of the kingdom, no one has taken the mouse throne in years, and with the extremists who started the coup rising to power, Rodentia is worse than it ever has been.

When the mice finally find where Bertle is hiding (right under Hans' nose as his royal advisor), he's forced to put on the crown and act as a vessel for the king who cast the curse to be brought back to life, as well as the other five spirits of rulers past, making him a six headed rat king that's constantly on the prowl, decaying and grotesque with an aura that reeks of death and dark magic.
