Longan Dragon x Reader
Oneshot
Warnings: just fluff
-Falling in love-
A cool spring breeze flows throughout a flowery medow, causing the grass to sway. Resting in the middle of the field were the Ivory Dragon and yourself.
Quite the rare scene indeed, since getting Longan dragon to agree to something as trivial as making flower crowns is a very difficult thing to manage.
They themself had wondered why they agreed to it. There was nothing particularly special about the day; you had just randomly asked if they'd like to make the things with you.
And despite that, they couldn't bring themself to say no.
So here the two of you were: sitting in a large, open field as you taught Longan how to make flower crowns.
"And just like this-" you held up the end result and showed it to them. "Ta-da!" A bright smile was on your face.
Longan would continue giving you that cold, emotionless stare they always had on their face. If you hadn't known them well, you'd think they were uninterested.
But of course, if Longan saw this as a waste of time, they would have said so already.
You leaned towards them, carefully placing the now complete flower crown atop their head.
If it were anyone else trying to get this close to them, Longan would have killed them already.
So why were you the anomaly?
You hadn't done anything to earn this dragon's respect. All you ever did was talk with them sometimes or complete small projects such as this one.
The way you treated them as if they couldn't destroy you at any second... How content you always were.
It was so naive... yet so captivating and peaceful at the same time.
It couldn't be.. had Longan developed a soft-spot for you? Had you melted this uncaring dragon's cold heart?
Your voice soon snapped them out of their daze.
"Here, you make one next!" You placed some freshly picked flowers into their hands and began to recite the steps to them.
It was easy, of course. Creating flower crowns was not something beyond the Ivory Dragon.
The thing that troubled them so much was that lingering question.
Why were you the anomaly?
How is it that after such a long time living, their ideals would eventually bend to your will?
Perhaps they should have been upset. But, they just couldn't feel that way. It was a rather odd feeling, actually, though not bad.
In fact, it was quite nice. It made them feel as if all of the flowers in the meadow shone just a little brighter.
"Oh, you're finished already?" You took the flower crown out of their hands and carefully examined it. "You're a natural at this!"
You handed the crown back to them and continued to sit peacefully.
Longan would just gaze at the object, thinking.
"You know, I really enjoy the time we spend together," You'd say randomly.
They looked up to meet your gaze. "You do? I don't think I'm very good company.." they'd respond.
"Sure you are! Why else do you think I asked you to join me today?"
Longan looked back down at the crown before placing it on your head, leaving a touch that seemed to linger for just a little too long..
A subtle blush spread across your face as you continued to smile.
It was in that moment that everything clicked for them.
Why they adored you so much, why they wanted nothing more than to be around you, and to protect you.
Why their heart beat just a bit faster around you, and why your smile had long since become one of their favorite views.
Why their ideals would bend for you, why they agreed to this rather stupid idea of making crowns out of flowers.
Why they thought of you so often, and why for the first time in a long while, they felt something other than hate.
They were falling in love, and there wasn't any way it could be undone.
Hopefully you're ready for what consequences would come from this.
