How to Create a Photo Booth for A-List Interior Designers

At Legends in Los Angeles, Zio & Sons conceived and assembled a luxurious outdoor area where design mavens posed for photographers. Watch the video to see how it was made.

To create his eye-catching photo wall at the Legends design celebration in Los Angeles, Anthony Dargenzio of Zio & Sons sourced fine furnishings from stores in the surrounding La Cienega Design Quarter. Here, he explains how it all came together: “Since the VIP photo wall and lounge was going to be outside — located in the back garden at the

Lee Stanton Antiques showroom — I really wanted to bring the indoors out, for a luxe-meets-casual garden setting. As a backdrop, we used a natural linen painter’s cloth. Then we pulled products from some of our favorite 1stdibs vendors in the La Cienega Design Quarter.We went to Lee Stanton Antiques for a few of the larger pieces, like the 18th century Italian columns, a French iron and marble bistro table and English wood étagère. We then paired it with the contemporary gray Milano chair from Downtown and anchored the set with a bronze, footed lamp from Remains. The antique rugs were sourced at Woven , along with decorative accessories for the shelving unit from Dragonette and Hollyhock . To complete the look, we added a pop of blue with a cashmere throw from Hollywood at Home. Overall, the look was exactly what we were going for and a perfect mix of old and new.”

Me dijeron que no hay miedo. Que todo pasa y todo llega. Que la posibilidad de realizar un sueño es lo que hace que la vida sea interesante. Me dijeron que después de la tormenta llega la calma. Pero que debemos aprender a bailar bajo la lluvia. Que nunca digas nunca. Que hoy sí y mañana no. Que todos somos más fuertes de lo que pensamos. Que hasta mañana, no. Hasta el jueves.

Me dijeron que el rosa y el rojo no se llevan bien. Que las bicicletas son para el verano. Que las cosas claras y el chocolate, espeso. Que al final todo saldrá bien.

Que los amigos son la familia que elegimos. Y que los de verdad se cuentan con los dedos de una mano. Que no hay mal que por bien no venga. Que la Navidad está a la vuelta de la esquina. Que llorar nunca fue de cobardes. Y que hay que reír hasta que duela la barriga.

Me dijeron que hay cosas que no se cuentan y mueren en los corazones. Que todos somos importantes. Que tú y yo siempre es una buena idea. Que debemos mirar el vaso medio lleno. Que una hoja en blanco es el comienzo de algo. Que es bueno hablar a las plantas para que crezcan sanas. Que todo es ponerse. Y que no hay nada imposible.

Que entre el blanco y el negro hay una amplia gama de grises. Que antes de decir que no te gusta, has de probarlo. Que los domingos de invierno molan. Y en casa mucho más. Que visitar museos no es aburrido. Y que la gente feliz lee y toma café. Que menos es más. Que el que no arriesga no gana. Que al pan, pan y al vino, vino. Que a las duras y a las maduras. Que las personas inteligentes duermen poco porque las mejores ideas surgen justo antes de caer en el sueño.

Me dijeron que disfrutase. Que el tiempo pasa volando. Me dijeron. Me dijeron tantas cosas que me gustaría recordarlas todas. Me dijeron que desde entonces soy mucho más feliz.

Me dijeron....Me dijeron que cuando hago caso a lo que me dicen, soy yo misma la que me lo cuento.

I got invited to build a board for the @sackwear • @maltec_leichtbautechnologie • @maltectrucks 80 series Toyota Landcruiser adventure rig to be shown at the @overlandexpo this May in Flagstaff Arizona. This is going to be a fun one to see come together. I glued up a blank with some of my stash of redwood and scrap balsawood. Three t-band stringers in the configuration like the Endless Summer model board. Danny and Damien @brawnerboards are going to laminate her up with some volan cloth and throw down some resin pinlines in grey and white rather that the original red and blue on Mike Hensons board. The board has been shaped as a modified Terry’s Slide model. Made first and foremost a surfcraft but useful in other ways. Back when my dad was a young guy living on Point Loma they’d use their surfboards as diving platforms when hunting abalone. They paddle them long distances to reach reefs way down the point. Really just made a board that matches the spirit of the rig it’s going on.
