#LBZF17 Panel 11:30am – 12:15pm Moderated by Ziba Zehdar-Gazdecki. CATALOGING THE FUTURE: Zine Librarians from the #ZineLibrarianUnConference ( #ZLuC ) discuss the importance of & challenges inherent in cataloging zines & preserving public access. Ziba is co-zinester of #ZebraPizzaZine as well as co-organizer of #LongBeachZineFest. Ziba has presented on zines in public libraries at #OCZineFest 2014, #PortlandZineSymposium 2016, #UCIZineFest 2016, #OCZF2016 & #LAZF2016, as well as at professional conferences this year such as the PCA/ACA National Conference 2017, #CLA2017 in November & #RNCVI in Puerto Rico next month. Ziba worked as the #zinelibrarian at the #LongBeachPublicLibrary Zine Library ( #LBPLZineLibrary ) from Oct. 2015 - July 2017 & curated the zine collection. Ziba is currently a new librarian for young adults with the #LosAngelesPublicLibrary System at the Baldwin Hills Branch. (at Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA))
