We’ve just taken a major step toward cleaning up space junk.
On Monday, October 2, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US issued its first fine for space debris, ordering the US TV provider Dish to pay $150,000 for failing to move one of its satellites into a safe orbit.
“It is definitely a very big symbolic moment for debris mitigation,” says Michelle Hanlon, a space lawyer at the University of Mississippi. “It’s a great step in the right direction.”
But it might be more than just a symbolic gesture by the FCC. Not only does it set a precedent for tackling bad actors who leave dangerous junk orbiting Earth, but it could send shock waves through the industry as other satellite operators become wary of having their reputation tarnished. While the $150,000 FCC fine was modest, Dish’s share price fell by nearly 4% immediately following its announcement, pushing the company’s $3 billion valuation down about $100 million.
The FCC’s action could also help breathe new life into the still-small market for commercial removal of space debris, essentially setting a price—$150,000—for companies such as Astroscale in Japan and ClearSpace in Switzerland to aim for in providing services that use smaller spacecraft to sidle up to dead satellites or rockets and pull them back into the atmosphere...
Another hope is that the FCC’s fine will encourage other countries to follow suit with their own enforcement actions on space junk. “It sends a message out of America taking leadership in this area,” says Newman. “This is starting the ball rolling.”
Today there are more than 8,000 active satellites, nearly 2,000 dead satellites, and hundreds of empty rockets orbiting Earth. Managing these objects and preventing collisions is a huge task, and one that is becoming increasingly difficult as the number of satellites grows rapidly. The worsening situation is largely due to mega-constellations of hundreds or thousands of satellites from companies like SpaceX and Amazon, designed to beam the internet to any corner of the globe...
Hanlon says there are further measures that could be taken to discourage companies from failing to dispose of satellites properly. “Honestly, I would love to see that if you don’t meet your license requirements, you’re banned from launching for a number of years,” she says. “If you’re driving under the influence you can have your license revoked. These are the kinds of measures we need to see.”
Chris Johnson, a space law advisor at the Secure World Foundation in the US, says the loss of reputation for Dish about the satellite situation might be worse than any fine it could have received. “They promised to remove it and they didn’t,” he says. “It’s like the first operator of a car to get a speeding ticket.”
The fall in the company’s share price appears to be indicative of that reputational damage. The fine may not have been as severe as it could have been, but the FCC’s actions can be seen as a warning to other companies to tackle space junk. “This is going to be on their record and their reputation,” says Johnson. “It’s not trivial.”

inside the mind with peter parker!!!! also, congrats bestie!!!!
Thanks bestie! I hope this helps cheer you up:
After the events of NWH, Peter tries several jobs that one can get with only a high school education - waiter and/or barista at various fast food or local cafes, cleaning services for hotels or office buildings. Name a low-level service industry job, he’s probably tried it. Along with day labor with construction projects.
Each job ends up running into one little problem: Spider-Man. Saving people sometimes makes him late for work. Sometimes hours late. Or he runs off in the middle of shift to save someone he notices in trouble. Needless to say, his bosses don’t like this. And often fire him.
He has better luck when he starts doing freelance work or online work where it doesn’t really matter when or where he gets the work done as long as he meets the deadline.
Some of this freelance work is vigilante photography. He develops a reputation for getting the best shots of New York’s vigilantes and their battles. Mostly Spider-Man (for obvious reasons) but he has gotten some very good shots of Daredevil.
Peter is torn on those Tumblr posts comparing his ass to those other heroes in the city. The jokes can be funny. But some of the NSFW comments have left him rather red-faced and at times uncomfortable.
He does find it absolutely hilarious that Daredevil won that Hottest Vigilante Ass thing. Easily the funniest part was the look on the man in question’s face when he was informed about this . . . honor.
One of the freelance jobs he picks up is doing electronics repairs. One day, he ends up in the office of Nelson, Murdock, & Page trying to convince their braille printer not to die. He managed it but also captured the interest of the lawyers. Who insisted he take a bonus payment in the form of food.
Peter thought about arguing but his metabolism is very high and his budget low. No sense in turning down (more or less) free food.
The law firm starts regularly calling him with offers of various temp work. He has gone to the office often enough that he has met Mr. Nelson’s mom. Who thinks he’s far too skinny.
Somehow it was after this meeting that Peter gained the attention of Daredevil. Which was . . . cool. Even if the way Peter threw punches made the man grimace and tell him to come to some rundown gym to learn how to do it properly - “you’re gonna break all your fingers doing that way, kid.”
Peter’s protest that (a) he will be healed by morning and (b) that he wasn’t a kid held no water. But Daredevil had a point that breaking the bones in his hands hurt and hampered his ability to fight or flee until those broken bones healed.
He calls the other vigilante Mr. Devil, despite repeated attempts to get him to just call him Devil or Daredevil. Fair is fair. Daredevil kept calling him a kid despite being told repeatedly that Peter was ‘not a kid.’

9. wunderkind.
chapter nine to buop (nanami kento x reader jjk medical au.) .
full contents here.
summary: working with dr. geto proves to be more difficult than you thought, but you have an enjoyable lunch break.
tw: american healthcare.
Satoru Gojo was a wunderkind. He graduated high school early, finished pre-med in half as much of time than normal, and aced his way through med school at an incredibly young age. He was a medicine prodigy. He was sought out by many hospitals for his neurosurgery fellowship, but decided to accept a fellowship at Jujutsu Metropolitan Hospital.
During his fellowship, he created and developed a new technique that is still used by nearly all neurosurgeons across the country, even years later. Up until a year ago, it had been known as the Gojo technique.
During and after Satoru's fellowship, he quickly noticed that he hated how the hospital was managing things. The owners of the hospital were old men who didn't work with patients anymore, instead they worked closely with insurance companies to milk money out of patients looking for care.
Satoru had to constantly turn away sick patients in need of surgery, and even the ones who needed simpler treatments such as medication and routine examinations, all because the patients couldn't afford to pay for it, and pro-bono services were forbidden. Patients waited months for post-operative visits and some had to hold off on returning after surgery completely, all due to money. He saw how the staff around him, nurses and scrub techs, were always shorthanded and overworked because the higher ups refused to hire more people, just to save themselves money.
Eventually, it all came crumbling down on the members of the hospital board. Patients were seeking care elsewhere, strung out employees were quitting, and the Jujutsu Hospital reputation was going to shit. Money doesn't last forever, but they were in need of it. That's when an anonymous buyer came in with a generous offer, in exchange for the board to be changed immediately, of course.
It didn't take long for senior hospital board member, Dr. Yoshinobu Gakuganji, to trace the money back to the one and only, medicine prodigy, Satoru Gojo. He wished he never did find out where the buy-out offer came from, because he had no choice but to take the offer. So, now he stood in an office room located in one of the higher floors of the hospital building with the young white haired physician.
“I'll accept the buy-out under one exception,” Gakuganji started, wrinkling fingers tapping against one another.
Satoru only scoffed, his arms crossed on his chest. His voice is smug, laced with his usual know-it-all attitude, “you have no room to bargain, you're out of options. No one wants you bail you out of your shitty hospital but me.”
“For this, it's worth the risk. No surgery for four years.”
How evil. Brain surgery was Satoru's passion. He worked hard, studied long nights, developed his own technique for his surgeries. His eyes widened and he bared his teeth, slamming his hand down on the old man's desk.
“Fuck no, you can't do that!” Satoru had always been out of line as a subordinate, but he was well aware that his brain and talent were too prestigious to reprimand or hold accountable so he got away with a lot, much to Gakuganji's disliking. It explained why Gakuganji was always looking for reasons to get rid of him.
“I can have the hospital’s lawyer on retainer add it into the contract. You want to turn this hospital around? Time to make some sacrifices, Gojo.”
Satoru grunts, chewing on the inside of his cheek, his fingertips digging into the palm of his hand in a shaking fist. Gakuganji can't be serious.
“One more thing...”
“You’ve asked for enough.” Satoru rolls his eyes.
“The Gojo technique, it's brilliant. Forfeit your name to it.”
Gakuganji was going for the jugular. The Gojo technique was pretty much flawless and it had never failed to save a life in surgery. It was Satoru's creation, his baby. He had traveled the country to teach this technique to other neurosurgeons, articles were published about it, it was his.
“To what, your name? The Gakuganji technique is a mouth full and an eye sore.” Satoru spat. Though surgery was his life, he was willing to step down for a short amount of time, if it was for his vision of this hospital he had, then four years wasn't too long.
“Preferably, but as long as it's out of your name, I'll be satisfied. Make a public announcement about forfeiting the ownership of your technique, and we can move forward this deal.” Gakuganji said, stroking his thin-haired beard, it always creeped Satoru out.
Satoru glared daggers at the old man. He was wrinkly, fragilely thin, shaking like a leaf in the cold air conditioning of the the office. He could croak at any time and Satoru wished it'd happen now more than ever.
“You're acting like a man with nothing to lose.” Satoru’s eyes sized up the shrinking old man.
“I don't anymore.”
The deal closed the day after Satoru made a public announcement, giving titleship and credit to Dr. Geto for his the technique.
He walked into work like nothing had happened, as if he hadn't just become the owner of Jujutsu Hospital, as if he hadn't just agreed to sacrifice the next four years. He struck a deal with Dr. Geto to take over his surgical cases from now because he'll be “too busy with paperwork” for a while.
He hires back the old chief of surgery, Dr. Masamichi Yaga, who had been forced to retire by the old hospital board members, despite them hitting critical ages themselves. He confides in his old mentor that he has no clue what he's doing with this hospital he had just bought, but he may know where to start.
“I'm sick and tired of insurances denying everything. I'm the doctor, I know what my patients needs, not them.” Satoru complains, resting his cheek on his palm.
“It is a pain dealing with them.” Dr. Yaga agreed.
They sat in Satoru's new office, a place he was told to get used to; he'll be spending most of his time in there, rather than the operating room.
The young physician had a vision for the future of medicine: no red tape from insurance companies, no gouged up prices for medicine that patients need, fair wages and generous personal time off for employees.
Satoru sighed, blowing the air out of pursed lips. His eyes fall on to a pile of rejected proposals by the last hospital head. He finds an old one he had proposed—the free clinic. He had brought this idea up during his fellowship, the idea of offering free medical care for post-op patients, and once established, expand to offer free care for all patients.
His long fingers flip through his old proposal, a smile creeping on his lips as he comes to realization that he can approve this with a simple sign of his signature.
“I've got four years of free time, anyways.” Satoru tells himself.
More than half the employees who quit due to an unfair working environment had been rehired the first month of Satoru taking over, and new employees were hired to share the workload. He opened the hospital for med school students to come there for their clinical rotations and for residents to come work for their residency, and he found room in the budget for medical scribes to be hired.
_________
Your first day working with Dr. Geto couldn't have gone worse.
Dr. Geto requested to start work in the clinic two hours earlier than when it usually opens, so you have to show up two hours earlier than normal.
You wake up with exactly 10 minutes left before you have to leave. You rush through brushing your hair and tying it back, brushing your teeth, and you change into a pair of scrubs. Then you spill your homemade coffee on yourself by accident. Changing again makes you five minutes late to the clinic, and your gas tank is nearly on empty, so you'll have to pump more after work.
Dr. Geto is already standing and waiting at the nurse station when you walk in. You run to grab a scribing laptop from the supply closet at the back of the clinic, frantically opening it and logging into the electronic health system the clinic and hospital use.
You finally catch your breath as you wait near Dr. Geto for the first patient to be ready for him. You lose your breath again when Dr. Geto addresses you directly.
“Satoru told me you're interested in neurosurgery.” His voice is silk smooth, almost hypnotizing. He's prettier than the images you saw of him when you Googled the surgeon. His hair is so dark and shiny, it's long enough to go down his back, and he has half of it tied up. He takes care of it, you can tell.
You can't seem to find your voice, so you just nod. You're not necessarily interested in neurosurgery solely, but you're really open to it. You're not going to tell that to Dr. Geto, a neurosurgeon, though.
Dr. Geto works differently than Satoru or Kento. He likes to move quickly, even wasting less time than Kento does. He moves so swiftly, almost like he's gliding across the floor. You're barely able to keep up with his pace, once he's done with one patient, he moves on to the next room. He doesn't look back, he doesn't ask if you have any questions, he doesn't check your notes, you have no idea how he prefers them. You try stopping him, but it does no good.
“Dr. Geto, if I can just ask—” Your words don't reach him, he's already stepped into the next available exam room and began exanimating his patient.
You take your lunch break earlier than everyone else, since Dr. Geto had you start work earlier today.
“Goddamn it,” you curse to yourself as you realize you've gotten lost on the way to the hospital cafeteria again. You don't think you'll ever learn where it is. The hallways are so identical, other than different variations of some CPR posters pinned up in certain hallways.
“Need help?” You hear in a very familiar deep tone.
You turn your head to the direction of the voice and see Kento walking towards you. He looks handsome in the scrub cap he's wearing. He still lacks the white doctor coat so his muscular forearms are out for all to see, like usual. You can't help but stare at them, tracing each vein you see with your eyes. You remember how he held you with those arms as he fucked you four times.
Your gurgling stomach brings your focus back to him. “Uh, yeah, I always get lost on my way to the cafeteria.”
Kento chuckles, he thinks that's cute. “I was just heading there myself. I can show you.”
He really tries to continue a conversation with you, but it's awkward at first. You feel nervous, like you want to throw up, but despite not feeling any bile come up, the fluttering sensation stays in your stomach.
Kento opens each door at the end of the hallways for you like it's natural instinct. You tried opening one for him, but he gently replaced your hand on the steel doorknob with his own. His hands are so much bigger than yours, he can almost engulf your hand in just his palm alone.
He asks you how your day is going, and you respond by automatically pouting and dropping your head down. He laughs briefly as he watches your sulking. He opens one of the double doors that finally belongs to the cafeteria entrance, placing his large hand on the small of your back and guiding you inside as you continue pouting with your head down.
You pick up your head, and whine. “It's going horrible! I can't keep up with Dr. Geto, he's impossible to stop once he's started, it's like he can't hear me, I have no idea how he likes his notes, it's like he expects to know how he wants it—”
Kento nods, he's aware of how... difficult Suguru can be to work with. He expects everyone to be on his level from the get-go; he wants his scrub techs to know what instruments he's going to ask for during surgery before he needs to ask for it, he likes his nurses to write their supervision notes in a particular format so he can learn the most information without needing to ask the patient more questions himself. He has high expectations from everyone he works with, with little remorse or thought to new employees around him.
“—I like working with you way more.” You say quietly, finishing your rant.
The corners of Kento's lips turn up slightly, a small smile appearing at your confession. He notes how your cheeks turn pink, so he decides to not respond to it. You're thankful, thinking he hadn't heard you.
The hospital cafeteria is almost nearly empty, a few family members of patients eat, but there weren't many staff members there, most likely because you're taking an earlier lunch than normal. You and Kento grab food and he pays for your portion without exchanging words and without a second thought. You want to hate how he does that because you can take care of yourself, but you can't.
“About my parking ticket—” you begin, both of you moving to an empty table in a private corner of the cafeteria. He carries his food, a chicken sandwich with wheat bread, in one hand and pulls out a chair for you with his other.
“Already paid.” Kento replies, quickly shutting you down on it. He's smiling, smugly if you squint hard enough to see.
“You didn't have to do that.” You insisted. You take a seat in the chair he's pulled out for you, and he sits beside you.
“I know.” His voice is kind, traced with unwavering certainty. How odd. You're not used to that: someone doing something like that for you because they wanted to. It sends a chill down your spine, ringing an alarm in your head. Kento causes it, but he also helps dull out the noise of it.
You didn't think you'd really talk to Kento again after having dirty, hot sex at his home—other than having to talk to him during work. But you're not working with him today and you're here talking to him. It feels like it did in the bar, now that you've gotten over the one-sided awkwardness you were feeling.
Kento had your full attention and you had his. Your legs brush against one another's underneath the table and it makes you aware of how close he was. You remember how you brushed shoulders at the bar and how your bodies felt pressed together in his bed. You have to bring yourself back to reality.
Your lunch break breezes by a lot faster than you'd like it to. You have to return to Dr. Geto's service and the thought of it makes you dread it. Kento chuckles to himself as you pout and drag yourself up from the table you both shared and then joins you in doing so. He has a couple more surgeries to do before he's done for the day, some routine procedures that won't take long.
Kento had enjoyed spending his break with you. He didn't want to return to wondering when he'd be able to talk to you again or wait until his days in the clinic to see you. As you both walk out of the cafeteria with brushing shoulders, he finds it in himself to ask you for your numbers.
“I was wondering if I could have your phone number,” Kento's cringing at himself, he sounds old and out of sync with this hook-up dating culture that people your age are doing. “So it'd be easier to...”
To what? Bootycall you? He almost wants to say never mind, and go back to bland coffee and tasteless foods. No, he knows that's not enough for him anymore. He wants more of your touch, your body, you.
Thankfully, you don't make him say it. “Sure, yeah.” You sound cool, nearly aloof, but you're anything but that. Kento hands you his phone for you to input your number. Just as you finish saving the contact, you realize the time at the top of his screen—you're gonna be late at returning from your lunch break.
“Shit, I gotta go.” You push his phone back to him and quickly leave, fast on your feet as you walk away.
“Talk to you later.” Kento says, though you're gone already. He stares at his phone screen.
_________
The second portion of the day goes by a lot slower than you would have preferred. You feel like you can finally catch your breath after keeping up with Dr. Geto the whole day. You close your work laptop slowly, sighing out tiredly.
“Good job today.” You hear Dr. Geto's smooth voice day to you. You perk up and look at him. If you were a dog, your tail would be wagging.
“Oh—thank you!” You reply brightly. “I really enjoyed working with you.”
That's a lie. Dr. Geto didn't slow down for a second after lunch, if anything, he had started working faster. He also didn't take time to go the extra mile to talk or teach you about neurosurgery, like Satoru and Kento had. He wasn't required to, but it would have been appreciated on your part. Still, there's no denying Dr. Geto was a genius at what he does for a living. He had a lot more complex post-operative patients today, so you still had the opportunity to learn about his surgical cases and their treatment plans by being in the room and listening as you scribed.
Dr. Geto isn't much of a talker if he doesn't need to be, so he nods at your words in acknowledgement before leaving for the day.
You take a look around as you come from down that people-pleasing high you just experienced and see Yuji grimly working with Dr. Ieiri, the surgical oncologist, in one part of the clinic. You spot Nobara's eye twitching with near annoyance as she works with Dr. Haibara, the OBGYN, in the other part of the clinic. They would be better suited if they switched physicians.
Your roommates still have some time left in their workday, while you were able to go home now since you had started earlier today. You wave at them, Yuji brightly smiles at you and waves back, Nobara scrunches her nose in friendly envy that you're able to leave now, but waves back too.
You make it home after leaving work and stopping at a gas station for your car. Your phone had been more silent the entire time despite turning on your ringer for the first time in a long time—you always preferred your phone on vibrate. Not a peep from an unknown number you were hoping to hear from.
What's gotten into you? Looking forward to Kento hitting you up? Get a grip.
You shower when you get home and change into some loungewear. You finally feel your body relaxing as you lay in bed freshly showered and in clean clothes. You try to scroll mindlessly on your phone, but you feel your eyes getting heavier and tired until you finally give into the sinking feeling. You've sunk too deep into a quiet nap when your phone finally does ring.
xxx-xxx-xxxx
This is Kento. I hope your day improved.
sticky note:
i didn't want to specify where this au takes place or what specific ages the characters are because i wanted to give readers free reign on that, if that makes sense. though, since i am from america then most of my writing may be american-based (like the insurance part of this fic lol), but i'm am trying to stay unspecific in those areas. but even tho an age gap is intentional, i may never specify what ages everyone is because that way anyone reading can imagine an age gap they're comfortable with, if that makes sense too.
ps. when i worked as a scribe i saw an insurance company deny cancer treatment for a patient with prostate cancer bc the insurance company believed “it was not necessary” :O

Could you write a little bit more about hierarchy in wolf pack in your universe? How it works? I'm more familiar with calling wolves as 'alfa', 'beta' etc. What does it mean, being 'second' in pack? It's like vice-leader? Does second have to...you know, dominate another members of the pack, or it's more... hm, fluent? There are another functions, too?
Heh, of course i'm wondering because of possible new dynamics with Rip on the board 🧐
But also because I simply love exploring your created universe. c:
And of course you dont have to answer, if you wanted to clarify it in forthcoming chapters ;)
That is a very good question, nonny :D
Typically packs don't have that many set-up positions. There is the leader, his second, the leading witch and the executioner (executes the leader's will). Then there are their partners. Factions in big packs are usually build the same way.
Otherwise the positions are a lot more fluid and usually work as gatherings of alliances/factions (eg. when a larger pack takes in a smaller one) and groupings by specialiazed tasks (people that like/are experts on a similar thing). Like a trios/quartets with a mix of wolves/witches/humans that focus on protection, healing, finances, socialisation with other packs, tracking,...
It largly depends on what the pack specialty is. Some focus on human based professions for wolves like healers/trainers, some on getting money from their human members' professions, some manage property gathered over generations. Some are small and diverse. Some are large and traditional. Some focus more on favours/services for the shadow wolf community like tracking and information gathering. Some more on the human community aspect like dealing with the police, lawyers, laws, medicine, rights etc.
These usually come up in larger packs, that's why our small Sonder pack of three doesn't really have it. There is leader, leading witch (that is usually the leader's partner, so that fits) and leader's second. There is no executioner and no focused subgroups for anything. They also don't have a united purpose as a pack for the community. Like no one comes to them for specific tasks or services they specialize in, since their strengths are so diverse. Isaiah has the most build diplomatic/negotiator role, contacts with human authorities and research and as trainer of shadows because of his great control. Seline avoids wolf and witch communities like a plague and focuses on her research career.
Matthew doesn't have a specialty aside fighting and provoking fights, has kind of a reputation with the street strays and unofficial fighting rings. Lately, he had been tagging along with Isaiah on his "missions" though.
Our little pack doesn't have a specific purpose. It would be easier to gather new wolves and get a place in the community if they did - but it would also be easier for them to focus on a common project. The positions and subgroups would depend on that.
Anyway, hierarchically, the closer you are to the leader, the higher you are. Different subgroups or alliances of similar power can rise and sink according to their usefulness and success rate.
Btw, one more thing that's important here is the distinction between executioner and Executioner. Every pack usually has an executioner who goes into the terrain to fulfill the leader's will. These two are usually very closely bound by trust and respect so that the leader can focus on strategies and the executioner can have a lot of free reign of how he goes about the tasks.
Small packs and packs with non-fighting specialisations often don't have an executioner of their own. That's why usually the executioners of the biggest packs in town collaborate to keep everyone protected.
An Executioner is an executioner with a small e that gets mixed up with other packs and territories and has proven himself to do it right. Other packs and their executioners can't dispute their interventions. They are distinct for doing things beneficial to everyone in the city, not just their own pack - handling strays, ferals, mad wolves, pup disputes, rival pack differences etc. They get respect by other packs for their decisions and therefore contacts. When it gets to the point they get called to cases or their assistance is requested, that's when they get to be called Executioners.
Executioners are fairly rare these days, and there's usually only one per city. Big Es are very influential and wouldn't take well to democratic decisions and teamwork. Defining traits are big shadows, excellent control, fighting prowess and fair and defendable actions. This is the kind of Executioner that people have in mind when they say the title. Executioners often choose their own successors - generally not from their own pack to keep neutral. They select them, they don't keep tabs or control if the candidate becomes this or not, only rarely being involved in the actual training. The title comes from the wolf packs and their behavior towards the the big E, not from anyone else.
That's why it's quite telling of Isaiah's role in the city. Isaiah was the executioner for the Wolfsons, became an Executioner during that time and people still call him one, even though he left the Wolfsons, does it his own way and refuses the title.
Thanks for the interest! Hope it makes sense and let me know if you have any other questions! :D

BACKSTORY:
killian meijer was born in a well-respected family of lawyers. the meijers were known primarily for their main craft, therefore from very early age lars and gwen meijers were preparing young killian for their upcoming successful career as an attorney. even before killian started attending school, they were constantly exposed to an extensive library filled with law material. there was no room for questions or doubts regarding their future.
when killian turned five, daan meijer, killian's younger brother, was born. the family decided to move from the netherlands to the states, where lar’s older brother resided, seeking even better professional opportunities for their children. Up until high school, killian lived in boston, but had to move to new york to finish high school and continue with law school afterwards.
during their last year in law school, killian met mila – the love of their life. or so they thought. the two hit it off almost instantly, falling head over heals for each other faster than they could realize. the elder meijer’s, however, upon finding out about mila, did not seem too pleased with killian’s pick for a mate, but did not impose their opinion upon killian too much during that time either.
four years later, the couple had moved in together and were building their own reputation as established lawyers. kllian had taken up a side job and was saving for their own place they could call home that both of them planned to buy in the following couple of years. not long after, killian proposed and the pair was now planning their upcoming wedding. however, the dream life had eventually come to an end. during one of their usual mornings, killian woke up to find their apartment empty. mila was nowhere to be found. they had not seen her since. well, at least not in person. the following month killian made a devastating discover. thanks to social media, they managed to track mila down, who now was back with her ex-boyfriend, who had just returned from his military training. It was later revealed that killian’s parents paid mila handsomely for her to return to her old life and never to come back. what hurt the most? not only did mila accept that offer, but made no effort, whatsoever, to contact killian again. as if the life they had been building for the past four years did not exist.
that was the last straw for killian. they had cut all ties with their parents ever since finding out about mila. another year passed and they decided to quit their job. with their parents out of the picture and no one else to control them, killian decided to explore their true desires and aspirations.
the older meijer always enjoyed helping people. that was the main reason why they pushed through law school and several years working as a lawyer, falsely believing they were protecting people, when, the law system was just as corrupt as any other. they found themselves defending offenders in court, while the actual victims did not receive proper justice. and so, killian swore to themselves to do all that was in their power to prevent any more of such assaults against women and people from happening ever again. that’s how they ended up receiving their self-defense certification and became a personal trainer, helping anyone and everyone who was interested in learning how to defend themselves.
at the same time, killian seemed to struggle with the fact that they had left their younger brother daan with their parents, who, no doubt, were also forcing him to follow their footsteps. the meijer siblings used to be rather close during childhood but had drifted apart since killian moved to new york for studies. although the two managed to have a call or two per month, that was nowhere close to resembling the proper bond they used to have back in the day, not to mention any healthy bond that any siblings shared.
not being able to properly deal with the guilt of “leaving daan behind” and the grief of losing mila, along with a lot of suppressed emotions since childhood that resulted in anger-issues, killian was persuaded by their best friend to start attending therapy. It proved to be a challenging start to a long journey, but they have been showing up consistently for the past year, which had to be a good sign.
when they are not training others, killian spends their free time outdoors, engaging in various sports, such as hockey from time to time (it used to be their main hobby back in their high school era), volleyball and even skateboarding once in a blue moon. as they got older, killian also found new appreciation for sightseeing and cooking. now they treat themselves with warm meals and never forget to surprise their closest friends with their “weekly delights”.
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
(OPEN) Best friend / ride or die – they met in high school and although the two of them did not seem to have a lot in common, they became inseparable. they were there for each other during all of their ups and downs and killian has to thank them for being there during the devastating end with mila and everything afterwards. they were that one person killian could always rely on, their rock. in return, killian filled that same role for their best friend and more. no matter how tough things became.
Casual friends – people killian met along the way, whether it was school, work, through their hobbies or through shared experiences.
One-night stands / flings – ever since fall-out with mila, killian had at least a few of these here and there, so feel free to throw any possible ideas my way!
Situationships – any connection that had/has the potential to become something more, but either never managed to properly get off the ground, one or both of them were unsure of how to approach it or it is still in its early stages.
Rivals – it’s no secret that killian is a sucker for a good competition. especially when the competition is about something they are passionate about. (open to literally any and all ideas!)
(OPEN) Mentor / parental figure – since killian had cut all ties with their parents, they could use an older parental figure who, when in need, could help ground killian somewhat and guide them on the right path by sharing their personal experiences
(OPEN) Mentee / younger sibling figure – as the odds seem to be against killian spending more time with daan, they are subconsciously looking for someone they could protect and guide through life. the trainer is no stranger to tough experiences, therefore it is easy for them to spot when someone else is going through a hard time and well… they will be there to help them.
this introduction will be continuously updated with new details and/or new connections, so keep an eye out for that! highly recommend to check back in here from time to time!
If anyone made it this far, GREAT JOB! please feel free to share any and all ideas/suggestions you may have regarding killian and your muses! I have no doubt that we will come up with some exceptional stories!

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing, understanding the differences between local and organic SEO is vital for businesses aiming to enhance their online presence. Local SEO focuses on attracting customers from specific geographic areas, making it essential for service providers like plumbers, electricians, and healthcare professionals. Key strategies include optimizing Google My Business profiles, using local keywords, and managing customer reviews. In contrast, organic SEO targets a broader audience on a national or global scale, emphasizing keyword research, high-quality content creation, and backlink building to improve overall search visibility. By recognizing the distinct benefits of each approach, businesses can tailor their strategies to effectively reach their desired audience and achieve long-term growth.

Network security services – Cybersecurity solutions in the new situation
Network security services – Cybersecurity solutions in the new situation
Information technology is existing in almost all areas of life, contributing to increasing work efficiency, saving time and costs. Besides these advantages, users also face many risks from loss, leakage of personal data, and organizational information and invasion of privacy when accessing the network. Therefore, network security service has becoming a necessary solution. Accordingly, Vietnam Ministry of Public Security proposed to consider cybersecurity protection services as business lines which are subject to conditions in the Vietnam Investment Law.
Personal data security lawyers in Vietnam
According to statistics in 2021, the Ministry of Public Security has recorded and analyzed nearly eight million warnings related to cyberattack activities, thereby detecting and verifying 2,763 cyberattacks targeting portal sites in the country (up 26% compared to 2020). In addition, cyberattacks tend to increase, causing political influence and greater economic losses. In addition, the situation of illegally collecting and infiltrating information and data of organizations and individuals for illegal purpose are increasingly complicated. The participation of network security services will contribute to strengthening the protection of the network security environment, especially important economic organizations such as banks, securities, state agencies, which are organizations that have vital role of the country.
On the other hand, the development of network security services is in line with the development policy of the country. Specifically, in Resolution No. 30 of the Politburo on the National Cybersecurity Strategy, the ultimate goal has been determined to reduce the risk of national security and social order and safety being compromised. Moreover, the Government has also issued Resolution No. 22 on the action plan to ensure national cybersecurity. Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security shall assume the prime responsibility for formulating a Decree stipulating conditions for trading in cybersecurity products and services. Therefore, making network security services a business line is consistent with the current context and development orientation.
In addition, approving network security services will guide specific regulations and conditions for businesses. Businesses and organizations and individuals providing cybersecurity products and services will need to actively comply with regulations. The business conditions for network security services will ensure that network security products and services to be provided by reputable and capable service providers. Accordingly, improving policies and laws and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of information, communication and network security will be a solid basis for cybersecurity services to demonstrate their functions and roles its important role in the overall development of the country.
Moreover, developing quality and effective cybersecurity services will create more opportunities and attract more foreign investors to participate in the Vietnam market. Most business activities now have involved the Internet connection, and therefore the risks such as information security and data security will be an issue of concern to investors making investment, setting up company in Vietnam. If network security services that support risk reduction and data recovery to help run business well, it will create confidence and motivation for investors.
The Ministry of Public Security expects network security products and services to include: (i) Confidential products to collect information (devices where hardware and software have the function of collecting information, documents, and data) via cyber – spyware; (ii) Security control products for network traffic (in which specialized hardware and software equipment for competent state agencies are designed with specific features to protect targets, systems, etc.) information system to warn, detect and prevent cyber security violations; (iii) Network security monitoring services, network security testing, knowledge training, network consulting, standards assessment. These are services and products that have practical applications and are capable of meeting the needs of individuals and organizations using cyberspace.
Therefore, although cybersecurity services have not yet been officially approved, in the current context, network security services will be an effective solution to work with the Government to build a digital environment and develop digital technology secure and sustainable information technology in line with the speed of global development. It is expected that when cyber security services are specified, it will promote a healthy, safe and effective cyber environment and hence promote the business and investment in Vietnam.

Are you looking for a trustworthy US immigration lawyer in London?
Immigration is one of the critical issues that need careful consideration. For a large number of people, it might be a direct concern but it is not. There are various complexities involved with any immigration application and not everyone is equipped to manage them perfectly. In order to ensure easy handling of these issues, it is strongly recommended to hire the services of immigration lawyers who are regarded as the most sought-after professionals ready to offer all kinds of assistance. The role of an immigration lawyer is largely different from that of a general lawyer. As the name implies, such lawyers only look after the issues concerned with immigration law. In most of the cases, these lawyers help people facing any difficulty dealing with immigration requirements. The role of immigration lawyers is generally that of an advisor or counsellor to foreign citizens and immigrants who must deal with U.S. immigration authorities. Immigration lawyers offer advice and guidance for concerns such as visa applications, green cards, citizenship and naturalization, deportation issues, and employment for non-citizens.
It is generally found that immigration lawyers spend much lesser time handling civil issues in court than other types of lawyers. In general, they typically act as mediators between clients and immigration authorities such as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In certain cases, these lawyers do appear before immigration judges in case of an immigration hearing for a client. Many immigration lawyers also handle matters involving an interaction between immigration and criminal laws.
When it comes to finding a good US immigration lawyer in London, the options are aplenty. It is basically up to one’s case specifications, budget, location and other factors that decide which option he actually chooses to adopt. However, the focus should always be on hiring a reputed lawyer who can understand your immigration case thoroughly and suggest best possible suggestion in regard to the same.
Most people hire an immigration lawyer when they come across the need of assistance in filing an application for some type of immigration document, such as a visa or green card. This is very much true when the person finds himself unable to fully understand the various requirements under immigration law. So, next time you look to hire US immigration lawyer in London, remember that there could certain conditions in which this becomes necessary. Always carry out a comprehensive market research before choosing a particular immigration attorney in London. This is because that this process might take some time and it is better to have with an expert who can provide the best advice.

One time, when I worked Accounts Receivable at a security company, most of our customers had auto pay for their monitoring service against a credit card. So every month I would have a list of customers to call to get updated card information because the cards had expired. Generally not a huge issue with most customers, generally only an issue when it was a rich customer (like the Property Brothers) who generally had managers handle such things but the managers put the person's number instead of the manager's number as the billing contact because they didn't realize it was different from the security alert notification numbers (sometimes the monitoring department put the wrong number in the billing contact info). Every once in a while some Karen would get pissy from word one and snap out "why do I have to update it, you should just know!". And then I got to reply "if I could pull credit card numbers out of thin air do you think I would be working?"
Very satisfying. Although nothing will ever quite match when a lawyer with a ~reputation~ told me "well, I don't have my copy of the contract anymore so it isn't binding!" and I got to say "well, I do, so yes it is, pay your bill."
