My favorite but of the Okolie-Light fight with commentary going “Okolie’s got a new trainer, guys. He’s a work in progress. He’s more fun than this I swear” like Okolie is the defending champion. 2nd favorite was the ref stopping the 7th round to tell them this fight sucks.

The Beltline: Cinemagoers Okolie and Riakporhe chase the script their potential fight likely requires
WHILE watching clips of British cruiserweights Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe clashing at the European premiere of Creed III, it was hard to determine which of the two things – Creed III or an altercation between British rivals – had the clunkiest choreography and corniest script. Certainly, knowing what we know about the Creed franchise, one would naturally assume Michael B. Jordan’s…

Mikael Lawal vs. Isaac Chamberlain Fight Preview

Mikael Lawal vs. Isaac Chamberlain Fight Preview
The O2 Arena in London was due to host a South London derby, but after Dan Azeez was unfortunately ruled out with a back injury suffered in his final training session ahead of fight night, his showdown with Joshua Buatsi had to be canceled. However, the show will go on, with York Hall hosting a long-awaited British cruiserweight title and vacant Commonwealth title showdown between reigning titleholder Mikael Lawal (17-0, 11 KOs) and Isaac Chamberlain (15-2, 8 KOs).
BOXXER, headed by Ben Shalom, is promoting the fight, with Sky Sports televising the card live in the UK, and Peacock holds the rights in the US.
Lawal is making a first defense of his British cruiserweight title, having pulled out of their initially scheduled showdown in May with a dental injury.
Lawal won the title in November 2022, forcing a corner stoppage against David Jamieson after eight rounds.
Chamberlain has only lost to the best in the division. He lost to former WBO champion Lawrence Okolie in a 10-round stinker in February 2018 via unanimous decision and a grueling points defeat to now-WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith in July 2022, in which Chamberlain showed the most admirable courage and heart until the very last bell.
That night against Billam-Smith in Bournemouth, Chamberlain showed everybody he had the minerals—the intangibles you need to accommodate your physical attributes to reach the top.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Lawal sounded ready to go to the trenches with Chamberlain: “We’re both going to put our hearts on the line. I’m excited for it, man. I want to see how far I can push myself. I want to see how far he (Chamberlain) can push himself.”
After the initial postponement of the fight and the hectic last few days to save this card after Buatsi vs. Azeez fell through, Chamberlain is glad to finally be on the verge of settling matters.
Speaking at the final pre-fight press conference, Chamberlain said: “Finally all of this comes to a close on Saturday, and I’ll be crowned the new British and Commonwealth cruiserweight champion.”
The British cruiserweight championship is a prestigious crown, the significance of which should not be allowed to diminish with time. A fight like this, with the potential to be one of the year’s most explosive fights, is befitting of such a title fight. However, there is more on the line for these two men: relevance and pride. Chris Billam-Smith is a cruiserweight world champion residing on British shores, which means a world title shot for the victor is plausible. Even if the winner does not face Billam-Smith next, the British cruiserweight scene is thriving. Okolie, Richard Riakporhe, Jack Massey, and Vidal Riley are other lucrative domestic options for the winner. It is rare for the cruiserweight division to be in such a good state on British shores.
Nevertheless, Lawal and Chamberlain cannot afford to think that far ahead right now. Will Lawal lose his “0”? If Chamberlain loses again, where does he go from here? Will the 29-year-old have to resign to being the gatekeeper of the 200-pound division? We’ll have to tune in to find out.

Welp, hope Lawrence Okolie has no regrets with his career move. Got knocked down 3x and 2 points taken for grabbing excessively because he was getting knocked around in open space. Chris Billam-Smith takes the cruiserweight title off him. Still somehow Okolie got a draw on one card.
