12. indoor gardens or outside gardens?honestly they both have their high points!! i love the more alien quality of greenhouses, all the warm weather plants that can grow there up to and including little exotic fruit trees and cacti. but then i also love gardens outside, particularly those with herbs and other less “decorative” flowering plants. might lean a bit more towards indoors since there arent going to be as many bugs there but i do appreciate the outdoors as well

17. what is your favourite breed of cat?man you know im not sure...i do love maine coons and bombays, but right now it really depends more on the specific cats personality than on anything else. ive also found that there are personality differences between males and females (males seem to be more clingy/friendly while females do their own thing and are less affectionate) so that affects things as well. but ultimately i love All Breeds even if a lot of them might have certain aspects that i couldnt deal with (such as siamese)

23. what is your favourite article of clothing?i have so many favorites.......pretty much all the clothes i own were sort of hand picked in terms of scouring everywhere i shopped until i found something i absolutely loved and had to buy, so i cant really pick something out of my closet. i think ill go with the silver ring i bought years back, made in africa, the first real Piece in my jewelry box that i knew was absolutely perfect for me, which ive worn every time i go out since then. im surprised the damn thing hasnt fallen apart tbh

32. what is your favourite hot drink?probably whatever hibiscus/raspberry/etc tea i can find, altho i enjoy coffee as well!!

How do you stay warm?mainly i put on lots and lots of clothes lol. it gets to the point where if im going out i will put on insulating pants and shirts under my fancier clothes aLONG with taking a warm jacket and hat/gloves/scarf if necessary. at home i have a robe, also a blanket that i can put around my shoulders if its too chilly. and then otherwise drinking lots and lots of tea

Do you drink cold drinks during the winter?not regularly nope. if im particularly thirsty i might have some cold water but otherwise its either room temp or warm

Are you afraid of the dark?to an extent yes. “afraid of the dark” implies more fear than i actually experience, for me its just this pressing feeling of stress. but either way the specific fear depends on the place and circumstances. like if im outside at night im going to think theres some sort of menacing person hidden in the shadows, but when im walking up the basement stairs at 5am its much more nebulous like “dracula is following me” or whatever. its smt that ive never been able to shake altho i just pretend its not happening (particularly in the latter case cuz thats just DUMB)

gerrit cole: unpopular opinion but hes like...the Poor Man’s Ace??? like i dont expect the pirates to ACTUALLY have a real ace because of their circumstances and because theyre the pirates but it really annoys me when ppl call him an ace. hes not a bad pitcher technically and i wont deny that his stats are good (how can i lmao) but hes inconsistent and the way he often works himself up gets on my nerves because it doesnt actually benefit his performance at all

tossup between aaron nola and daniel mengden. mainly im excited to see what both of em can do now that theyre coming back from meh seasons. im a lil more scared about nola since theres always the chance he’ll end up even more hurt and have to sit the season out, but i cant help being excited about him because i love watching him pitch so much. then theres danny who...well honestly he was kind of terrible but i think it was a terrible that can be easily remedied by some prudent adjustments so i have high hopes for his season

uhhhhhh lets see. im hoping for a lot of things but getting to watch more baseball in person and maybe actually getting a job is right up there. i dont want to let the year become just me sitting around doing nothing, BUT at the same time i dont want to have unreasonably high expectations. so im just gonna go with baseball and money

11. Did you read any good books this past year?

YA DARN RIGHT I DID. over the past couple of years ive become mildly obsessed with reading about old hollywood, so i read laurens autobiography, a book on sam goldwyn, what is apparently considered The Best fred & ginger book, and autobiographies of lucille ball and adolphe menjou, all of which were good and will probably be reread way too many times in the future when i want something to relax with before i go to sleep......

BUT the true standouts of this year were the absolute ultimate baseball books (like i can judge since these are the only ones ive read) The Complete Game and Game 7 by ron darling. not even taking into account the facts that i am in love with ron and hes also a meme, these books are honestly great and both serve to evoke different aspects of baseball. the complete game goes into detail about the wide range of experiences open to a pitcher and also, just by addressing the different periods of a start/career, provides what feels like a coherent story from beginning to end even tho it includes tons of different settings and occurrences. game 7 focuses on, well, game 7 in obsessive and mainly negative detail, but also gives a uniquely relatable experience by not only picking out certain inimitable images from this one period in rons life, but also taking great pains to provide a look into his exact emotional reactions during everything that went on. both books also gave me my first real idea of how much baseball has changed in just 30 years, and of course theyre packed full of that good ol Golden Age nostalgia that i love wallowing around in (nothing better than wishing i was alive back in the day lemme tell ya!!!!!) so as far as im concerned theyre amazing and i cant wait to officially add them to my collection where they will sit beside such gems as “The Films Of Clark Gable”
