Just a bunch of half-naked swing cats hanging out in the vocal booth, nothing to see here...
Generally speaking in UK tours, the swing costumes are a more generic version of the kinds of roles a person covers. Babygriz and chorus Deut are used as swing costumes, and the other swings are usually just mix-and-matching wigs and unitards from different characters, with less distinctive makeup. (Victor, Electra, and/or George are sometimes swings too, with their own unique designs.)
In this photo they’ve conveniently arranged themselves from ‘kitten/dance-heavy/acrobatic’ in the middle, moving outward through ‘adult/principal’ roles, to ‘older/most vocal’ at the back.
This is from the 2008 UK tour, hence the rare appearance of Daymon Montaigne-Jones (the Most Naked one) as a swing instead of Tumblebrutus/Bill Bailey, which was a role he played for most of his Cats career. He’s wearing a Bill Bailey unitard and a Carbuckety wig, and his makeup doesn’t have the eye patch of either boy.
Similarly, Pepe Munoz behind him is wearing a costume that’s a blend of Alonzo, Munkustrap/Victor, and Admetus: Alonzo wig, Admetus unitard, symmetrical unremarkable makeup on a grey base instead of Alonzo’s stark black and white. (And, for some reason, an arm warmer. While topless. Pepe why.) He covered Admetus, Alonzo, and Tugger.
Behind him is, presumably, Barry Haywood, who covered Deut and Gus/Bustopher: he’s wearing Deuteronomy’s chorus outfit.
Emily Anderson is the woman in the front beside Daymon, wearing a Tantomile unitard and Jemima wig and makeup.
The two women must be Louise Perez (the other Jemima costume, covering principals like Deme, Bomba, and Teazer) and Laura Darkins (Babygriz costume, covering Jenny, Jelly, and Griz).

Hi! This is an opinion post on Kai’sa. :)
Firstly this is going to be a long post but I really quickly wanted to make a comment before I put the Keep Reading bar. No, I don’t personally hate Kai’sa. I’m upset about her design in the splash art, I agree she looks better in her in game model. I like her with the helmet on, I don’t like what’s underneath.
Her kit fascinates me, I know some people have their own complaints about that, but I’m intrigued and I will more than likely buy her at drop and spam her in games. That’s not what I’m concerned with. I think she looks pretty fun and its going to suck so bad for her to be out for less than two weeks and get nerfed to shit, trust me I’ll probably be super pissed.
EDIT: I like her personality from her newly released voice lines. ++
Now on the long hand of this post.
Splash Art and Design Complaints.
Before I go on “bashing” on this champion I just want to say that once a champion is revealed to the public, they have all the rights to complain and make critiques. Yes, all champions are their property and Riot Games has all the rights to make and change what they please, that IS their rights. We’re all mere slaves to their creations. If we don’t like something we can choose to deal with it or leave it where it is. However, they are a public gaming company and create champions for our enjoyment. People bashed Zoe upon her drop, Kai’sa is NO exception to criticism. It’ll be everywhere. Just like people reviewing a game, its in their rights to judge and hate certain aspects of a game. Say for instance how people didn’t received the new Laura Croft the same way as the original. We’re all entitled to our opinions. Some people truly hate her for their own reasons, like Zoe as mentioned, or they really love her. I’m personally interested, I don’t hate her.
Moving on to why I’m upset about her look. I like the suit idea and I will be looking more into her lore as time goes. To see how this was changed. Was it a normal suit that gained sentience? And she’s akin to a Darkin of the void, type situation? Or was it already somewhat of a symbiote? Like Venom from Marvel Comics. THIS IS INTERESTING TO ME.
However, she does look like a bit of a generic attractive woman to me. BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING. NO, there is nothing wrong with a generic attractive woman. Nothing, I’m a fan of overtly feminine and girly champions and game characters; D.va, Sona, Ahri, Mercy, Elves on any fucking game, TERA Females, Bayonetta, I could go on forever.
I was hoping for something more interesting, however. Understand that I don’t dive too deep into league lore. Due to the game mechanics not requiring me to care much. I can’t say I like that aspect too much but its the play style so I’ll survive. I’m also a huge fan of Blizzard game lore. I own the WoW Chronicles and have been playing/following the lore of that game for many many years now. And I’m more used to their version of the Void. Recently in that game we were gifted with a new allied race called Void Elves, or Ren’dorei. I have fallen deeply in love with them and their look. Yes, you can argue they’re Blood Elves with void and tentacles all over them and in blizzards stance that’s lazy, but there are reasons for this. Anyways, they look very void to me. And in comparison it makes Kai’sa look very unappealing.
From this:
To this with void taint:
In game void elf (World of Warcraft):
Blue/purple (dark-light) skin, with tentacle hair, visible changes? That’s what I’ve gotten used to seeing. And now I’m told that this is void.
YES, Different games. I know, just understand my bias.
Lore
Yes, I’m interested in her lord, her suit lore. I’m sure its the muguffin that league will use as a escape goat to explain why she’s so young and vital. I EXPECT that, or it’s bad writing. Just saying. So Yea, it could siphon the energies to keep her young, that’s cool, I guess.
Kit and In Game Mechanics
I already said, I have nothing bad to say about this. She looks very appealing to me in game. I can forgive her design and splash just for her mechanics.
Final Thoughts
I don’t hate this champion. I see nothing truly wrong with her. Don’t unexpectedly bash on me for voicing my own opinions. I’m just disappointed with her design. Nothing wrong with that. That’s mostly what I see going on too. Don’t be so defensive, we’re not trying to burn your new child on the steak for being “Too Attractive”. Nothing wrong with sexy women, Eve is the BEST. kek.
ALSO, as a last note. She also looks like someone who was very visually designed in mind for certain skins, which is fine too. That’s FINE people. Chill. She looks like she’d make a great Dark Star, Project, and dare I say Dragon Trainer. (Two shoulder dragons would be adorable).
SO meh, if you sat through this, wow. You really care about what I have to say? I’m flattered. :3
