#HispanicHeritageMonth Credits- @fearlessyaya • La Reina de la Salsa Celia Cruz recorded 23 gold records with Tito Puente, the Fania All-Stars and other collaborators. She practically invented SALSA, and then went on to perfect it. Growing up in Miami the party didn’t start until you heard La Vida Es Un Carnaval, she was bigger than life and her looks help me realize you can be as colorful as you want to be. Celia Cruz Cruz debut on the Havana music scene came in 1950, when she was chosen as the lead singer for La Sonora Mantancera. In 1960, after the Cuban Revolution, Celia Cruz left Cuba, becoming one of the symbols and spokespersons of the Cuban community in exile. Her voice inspired and celebrated life in the most beautiful way. Which Celia Cruz song is your favorite? La Negra Tiene Tumbao is my personal favorite tell me in the comments below: Latina Heritage Collection will launch on 10/15 at 6PM EST. 🤎🤎🤎 • @fearlessyaya “Your failures don’t define you. Your worth isn’t about what you do or don’t do. You have value simply because you’re here.” ― @dianexguerrero Last year those words helped me realize that my job title did not define who I was. As my world was falling apart it took me a while for those words to sink in, as I read In the Country We Love: My Family Divided by Diane Guerrero. Diane Guerrero heartbreaking story’s is too common in this country, it has happen to my friends and family with undocumented status in this country. Please if you have a chance check out her book it’s a must read. If you prefer to listen @dianexguerrero has incredible podcast Yeah No, I’m Not Ok, that focus on conversation about mental health.
