playing witch's hunt having romanced morrigan is a great touch at giving that dlc a different meaning but it's still baffling just how mean you can be to morrigan. i know that da:o is praised the most out of all of the da titles for the amount of actual roleplaying you can do and i personally can't argue with that because i enjoy it very much as well, and of course it's good for an rpg that you have so much leg room to do whatever you want. and that just because you see an option to say something you just can overlook it and not click it and whatever but in case with morrigan it's just crazy how many options you get to. be mean. starting from being able to straight up call her a heartless bitch at any point (with positive approval.) and constantly doubting her motivation to stay with you (even if she's upfront from the start) up to the point that in witch's hunt as her lover you can accuse her of doing of something awful and heinous even though. she's never done anything of the sorts? i've seen discussions before how this fandom has trouble telling apart if it's the writers projecting their own misogyny into the story and the character's or the characters written to be misogynistic for some sort of pay off from the player. and morrigan is such a great case of a female character that's presented as a 'need no man girlboss type' who speaks her mind and has quick wit and will respond to anyone if they dare to criticize her in any way but she's still a tsundere type who will inadvertently fall for a man if he's nice enough to her. which is made the crux of it. it's like her 'betrayal' that the game loves to pedal to the player about is that she left. and worst case scenario she LEFT A MAN who had feelings for her and (conditionally) gave her a child. that the betrayal itself in a case of a un-modded base game morrigan romance is framed that she betrays the warden because she dared to leave a man who had feelings for her. even though she has always been upfront with you!!! from the start!!! once AGAIN is this the line where the writers are giving you a choice to Role Play as an asshole or is it where the writers make their own views known about how a woman trying to take back her bodily autonomy should be perceived and treated
