The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973)

Here are my thoughts on the alleged best album of all time, TDSOTM! Before I even begin to write my thoughts here on the songs, I want to comment on the album title! The title already makes the album very intriguing, since the dark side of the moon title here is (probably) a metaphor for the hidden dark sides of humanity we don’t always see, at least in my opinion! Since the dark side of the moon is a side of the moon we never see when looking up at the sky, but it will always be there, along with the light side we see (just like humanity)! Anyways, here are my thoughts (which turned out a lot more lyric-based than I thought, oops)!

Disclaimer: I have already listened to this album before, so these technically aren’t my first time thoughts like with other albums!

1. Speak to Me

The heartbeat intro is very intriguing, and I love how you can hear snippets of later songs on the album here (e.g., Money, Time, and TGGITS), already showcasing a theme of life here (birth of a child, especially because of the scream borrowed from TGGITS, which sounds like childbirth).

2. Breathe in the Air

And then we get this gorgeous transition into this song! The guitar work here is particularly lovely, along with the bass and keyboards! Makes you feel like you’re floating. David’s voice here is also lovely! I love the reference here already to Eclipse in the lyrics! The lyrics already set a very interesting theme of life/a person being born and parents giving their kids independence and showing a person’s childhood.

3. On the Run

Love how ominous this feels! It gives me video game OST vibes! The synths here are just awesome as well! Very futuristic sounding still in 2024! As the song title says, this song is probably supposed to represent someone “on the run," maybe from time, considering it’s the next song? But you can’t run from time, which Time will later go into more. This person on the run here is imo definitely the same one that was born in Speak To Me/Breathe in the Air.

4. Time

This song…. Omg it’s so freaking good!!!!! I love the intro here, since it makes you feel like you’re out of time with all the clocks ticking and ringing (the person running from time in the previous song, of course, didn’t succeed; at least I think that is what it’s supposed to represent). And then comes the rest of the instruments along with a heartbeat!! Godddd this intro is so freaking badass and really sets the mood for how depressing/ominous this song really is (the keyboard in this intro is especially so cool). The keyboards here really make the song this good, along with the guitar! Then the guitar kicks in, and along with it the very meaningful lyrics. These lyrics about time always being there and it isn’t going to stop for you even if you’re young/the passage time/you shouldn’t waste time are so freaking good. And then Rick’s ethereal vocals hit in the interludes (I love his voice so much; also, only now with this listen, I actually know this is Rick singing here; previously, I thought it was David singing the entire song; it makes me realize how far I’ve come in terms of PF lore). Then the guitar solo starts after the lyric “You missed the starting gun!" Godddd the placement of the amazing amazing guitar solo directly after that hard hitting verse is really really good! (It shows the despair of having wasted important time imo). The background vocals in this song are also just so goood and really showcase the ethereal/omnipresent nature of time. Then the rest of the lyrics hit! With the “closer to death” and “hanging on in quiet desperation” lines being particularly heavy hitting and meaningful here!!! I just love the combination of the hard hitting instrumental and lyrics! Also love how the melody here goes back to Breathe In The Air to showcase the person being born returning to their childhood one last time (forgot to mention that this is still the same person from the previous songs here)! One of my absolute favorite Floyd songs and one of my favorites on this album! Along with the next song!

5. The Great Gig in the Sky

Goddd the transition here is already amazing. And then you get the absolutely divine piano playing by Rick here, making you feel like you’re floating again! And then the beat drops with the absolutely incredible vocal solo by Clare Torry! This song is just so freaking powerful and good sounding it’s amazing!!! The melody here is divine as well! I also love how melancholy this song is and how the vocal solo is technically just a guitar solo being sung instead of played on a guitar! This song, in my opinion, represents the afterlife/death, especially because of the quick monologue here of “not being afraid to die” (and also the fact that it follows up Time, which is about trying to cheat time and being afraid to grow old). The way Torry sings the vocal solo also kind of sounds as if she is dying and giving it her last all (screaming in frustration and in fear of dying—the person from the previous songs desperately doesn’t want to die). Additionally, the end of the song is about accepting death imo since Torry stops singing as powerfully as she did before eventually stopping and thus showing that the person who’s dying has accepted their fate (this is probably still the same person from the previous songs, this time dying). TGGITS is probably my favorite song off this album ngl (and one of my all time favorite Floyd songs).

6. Money

And here is another one of my favorite Floyd songs ever! The bass/guitar riff here is so iconic and good (fun fact: I learned how to play the bass line to this song!) along with the cash register noises. The groovy vibes here are just so good, and the 7/4 time here makes the song really unique and cool! And the lyrics about how money/capitalism/greed corrupts people here, of course, are amazing as well, though it doesn’t connect with the end of the last song well… Maybe this is a flashback to when the person was alive and succumbing to greed?? (After all it’s been said that your life flashes before your eyes when you die). The guitar and sax solo here, of course, are just sooooo good and groovy as well (especially the guitar solo, omgggg, I was blown away when I first listened to this song)!! The melody here is amazing as well, and I just love how intense this song is! Not to mention, when the solos hit, I was head banging hard! David’s voice here is also so good and soulful! Along with his guitar playing, of course, as well (love the wah wah effects). Also, Nick's drums here are a highlight!! He has such good drum fills here!! The outro here is also so cool (David’s “aways”/vocal scatting is just sooo good, always makes me sing along, in fact, this whole song always makes me sing along).

7. Us and Them

And then we get this gorgeous keyboard transition!! It's been a long time since I listened to the second half of songs on this album, so let’s see how this turns out! I love the guitar and drums here already—very ominous but pretty sounding! And then we get a soulful sax! I’m also just noticing how well the band plays here on this album as a unit! Then an absolutely beautiful and intense beat drop hits and it’s so good!!!! And I also really like the lyrics here about the negative/dark side of the military and the horrors of war, and the guitar playing here is sooo good as well (sorry for repeating myself so much, I have nothing else to say but that the guitar playing on this album is simply incredible). And then we get a lovely little piano solo from Rick (my comment from my obscured by clouds review still stands: I love his piano solos!) And then there is a lovely sax solo as well! I adore how intense this song is and how full it sounds (even though it makes it very hard to hear what lyrics are being sung in the beat drops—at least imo since I’m not a native speaker and didn’t have the lyrics available to read at hand because I listened to this album on a flight, so I had to listen very carefully for what lyrics were sung on this album)! I also love the echoe effect on David’s voice here! As if people were imitating what he is saying (just like the lyrics are writing about in terms of conformity -> “which is which and who is who”). Surprisingly one of my favorites as well (haven’t heard this song in a while and was surprised at how good it is)!

8. Any Colour You Like

And then there’s this absolutely incredible instrumental!! I love love love love the synths and guitar here!!! I especially love the synth solo here! It’s very ahead of its time! The guitar effect here is just so cool sounding as well. The fact that this is after Us and Them could maybe show how a soldier is pushing away his issues/negative feelings about the military/war with drugs (especially since this definitely sounds like a drug trip, imo). The bass here is also just sooo good! I’ll repeat it here: the band is playing really well together in this album!! This song also just sounds so otherworldly and divine as well! One of my favorites off this album as well!

9. Brain Damage

Love how ominous this already sounds!! I really like Roger’s voice here (and also his harmonies with David omgggg) and the lyrics about mental illness are also powerful (especially in the choruses). I think this song is definitely based on Syd imo (especially since this song’s lyrics about mental illness kind of resemble Syd’s experiences with Pink Floyd imo and also the fact that this song is placed after the drug trip song (definitely a very deliberate choice)). The lyric “the band plays different tunes” also adds to my assumption since this is exactly what happened after Syd got kicked out, and it also resembles lyrics from Jugband Blues here about being replaced. Additionally, the “lunatic is in my head” line could refer to the fact that the way Pink Floyd treated Syd still haunts Roger and the rest of the band (which is something that will come up more in the next album). The melody is also so good, as is the synth at the end.

10. Eclipse

And here comes the climax of the album, shown with an incredible transition!! This song is so good and really shows off everybody’s best playing here! The vocal harmonies are also so good and really hammer home that we are not alone in this world: everyone experiences bad things in life/the experiences mentioned here in this album! Also, the lyrics here are such a powerful and meaningful ending to this album! And then the heartbeat starts again, showing the endless cycle of life (and maybe even reincarnation, imo) and that the experiences in this album are bound to happen again and again until humanity no longer exists. As I said, very very powerful!

In general, this album is just as good as I remembered it to be! The instrumentation is absolutely incredible, along with the lyrics; they’re both equally good here!! I also love the implementation of the darker experiences of life theme here, and it was also really well done and executed! Every song here is simply incredible: there is no filler, in my opinion, and every song serves its purpose! Not to mention the transitions here are immaculate, and the whole album feels like one very good, very unique experience! As much as I love this album, though, I have to say Meddle is still my favorite (even if it has one filler song), because it just sounds more raw and improvised, and I really like its sound more than TDSOTM’s sound (it’s very polished sounding, I like my music sounding a bit more raw). But TDSOTM is definitely my second favorite album so far (and it’s also a close one at that). Next up is another album I’ve already listened to (a while ago, probably 2 years ago for the first time just like with TDSOTM) but never wrote my thoughts on: Wish You Were Here! Excited about that album as well, since I remembered it to be very good!

15.I might be physically incapable of disagreeing with you actually. It's a good song but not the best, the good thing about it it's 100% Hermes, my man comes in , all charming and silly, grants ody a crazy power , tells him he'll probably die either way and then goes his merry way. Iconic , 10/10

In Ody's defence when Circe immediately proposed lust I was also like ???? Girl what??? There must be another ten thousand better ways to go about this?? BUT I realize now that Circe is probably used to dealing with scums and filthy man that at the mere mention of sex become cocky and stupid becase they want her and because they believe they are so irresistible obviously she can't resist them. Meanwhile she is getting ready to stab them several times ( queen behavior honestly)

17.I can't express into words how happy I was he refused!! The circumstances were all perfectly placed so that he couldn't say no BUT HE STILL DID!!! RISKED IT ALL BECAUSE HE MIGHT BECOME A MONSTER BUT NEVER A CHEATING HUSBAND!!!! JAKSKSKSKJS

also when circe talks about the Underworld chills kaksksmsnsn her voice is so gooood

All in all a good saga obviously, but I just might like Hermes and Circe more than I like their songs

next up Underworld Saga!!! ( I'm also really scared and I'm pretty sure I can't form coherent thoughts about the songs , only tears and anguised cries )

18. The Underworld

Hey, so here’s my lil’ mini review of Lay/Yixing's 5th album Step (Deluxe version) after listening to the whole thing twice:

Run Back To You: Song was…okay. Very generic and repetitive tho funnily enough by the 2nd chorus, I was kinda vibing with it lol. Not a bad song by any means tbh.

Psychic: A bop! Already heard it since it was released before the album, and it’s been so addicting to listen to (both the English version and Korean version).

Step: The beginning reminds me lowkey of SHINee’s Atlantis. Anyways love a good funky bass guitar, and once that chorus came with the horns omg. This shit is niiice—I didn’t want it to end! Also, I peeped the MJ influence <3.

Fresh: Nice song! Was so short tho imo.

Music Is Your Love: He sounded so goood in this~! And another funky bass guitar <3!

Daisy: Didn’t expect this fast-paced song right after the last one lol. But it’s a fun song tho ^^.

Right Now: This one has a nice chill vibe that I zoned out to.

Before You Let Go: Song was ehhh. The part of him saying “Remember when you got the best s3x of your life?” made me lol tho.

Mornings With You: Was a cute song, love me some Do-do-do’s. But again short!

Staring At The Sun: Ooh this song is angelic especially during that chorus—he sounds so pretty here!!

Human In You: Is this his version of Human nature? Lol, it’s very ‘damn the world sucks but I’m here for you’ which was cute. Felt kinda…empty at first tho but his singing was nice and love the harmony with his voice. By the end of the 1st time I actually wanted to listen to it again right away tho ^^.

I'm Still Learning: Was cute, and also really fit right after Human In You cuz the vibes were the same. That kinda hopeful optimistic vibe—but also I was so surprised the 1st time when the volume went down so soon (y’know when a song’s close to ending). Another short song!

A Legend: Ooh loved how it had 3 languages together in one song (songs like that in general are just so cool to me, like music’s universal bruh). Anyways, was a nice song as well and great way to end this Deluxe version album!

And so my favs from this album in order are: Step, Psychic, Music Is Your Love, Staring At The Sun, Fresh, Right Now, Daisy, Mornings With You, A Legend, Human In You, I’m Still Learning >>> [a wall], Run Back To You, Before You Let Go

TL;DR: So, I love every song besides literally 2 lol. And after like SATS, I can’t lie—it was hard putting the songs in a sorta order cuz they were all great or nice! But yeah, this was a great album like he continues putting out bangers man. Highly rec listening to it if you haven’t yet (and sorry this review is so late lol).

NO BC PPL TILTINT THEIR HESDA IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME AND JUST PERKING YHRIR HEADS LIKE ANY MOVEMENT OF PPLS HEADA is so special to me it shows attention to details and emotion and desire to KNOW and be present in the moment and it’s just… so reassuring despite it being such a small gesture and i have realized over the years that i do it subconsciously with people i love and strangers that i click withINLVOE TJAT DETAIL i will use it in every fic ever idc if it’s repetitive i don’t care. i often tilt my head and whatnot bc im actually very nonverbal in real life usually (im just tired all the time) so i usually hum or give short responses and use my head to gesture the rest of what i need to convey liek this is so important to me guys…

I LOOOOVE writing kissing scenes but also no bc they get repetitive and yeah and also that tattoo hehehehsjwhhd i had to soft launch dani having the same tattoo LOL

i tried to make the whole death thing a little less repetitive and kind of brush over it until it got worse and worse and more serious and the whole concept was cheaply influenced by a movie where the two love interests know that they’re dying bc of their sickness but then i added a set, concrete date for dani and yn to die LOL idk lowk my creative juices were being juiced with this one… i was THINKING … and yeah i tried to fit in as many details and things that you’d have to remember form the beginning or middle idk i just rly like how i structured this one (the pacing is stilll iffy to me but wtv( bc i tried to have things tie together well and whatnot

makeout scene had me giggling and blushing while reading it was inspired by the anon who sent a makeout ask like smth ab “imagine making out w dani for the first time” and originally it wasn’t going to be there but i think it added to their bond and tension and lalalala yeah

no i couldn’t make them.die without knowing they’re meant to be but i had to try to figure out how to make the reveal angsty and i was like might as well have them figure out before they die and SOEAKJNG OF WHICH it took me a good amount of time while at work and making drinks to think of a way for them to die idk this story was so spontaneous and changed a lotLOL

and yes the whole beach thing was lowk inspired by summer strike bc i like the small town environment and how cute the beach is i haven’t even finished the drama im on ep like eight and haven’t watched since a few months ago LOL but i think the beach is just so calming and small towns r just sooo relaxing and nice compared tot he city (that being said i will always be a city girl…) idk beach city energy is just so wonderful and fits dani bc she grew up in newcastle and her whole vlog kinda gave me ideas for the world building and whatnot

i’m glad u love it!! and also just to mention ab the whole personal thing and living

i project a lot into my work and what i put down on the doc. idk if u can tell but i see a lot of beauty in things because i feel like its not worth dying if youre missing out on the intimacy of being loved and loving back plus just general interactions and platonic bonds built (ex: hyein and mrs lee) so like ywaaahh im glad you want to live!! there’s so much out there to experience and trust i understand exactly how u feel i looooowk have a lot of my own problems but writing helps me point out my dreams and things i find wonderful which makes me happy and then ppl enjoy the things that i romanticize and it makes me so so so so happy LOL

did u actually cry like many ppl r saying they cried or shed a tear and idk if i beleive it bc is it REALLT. that sad and emotional (maybe i just critics my writing tm) but yeah IM SO HAPPY THAT U ENJOYED!!!

The new album by Visions of Atlantis is out!

As a big fan of theirs who has got nothing better to do, here are my 24 cents about it*:

*2 for each song

Warning: First impressions + no proofread! Also, there's a poll in the end ;)

01. To Those Who Choose To Fight - wait, a short track for an intro? Didn't expect that... Makes for a nice prelude if you listen to the two Pirates albums back to back. 02. The Land Of The Free - Holy fuck, this is my jam. They went unusually heavy on the orchestrations here, the guitars are nice, the whole thing is overall bombastic! Unusual, coming from this band - instant favourite. 💙 03. Monsters - the one that made me worried that the album will be too similar to the previous one. Very catchy, nice lyrics, love it, but still... Listening now in context, it fits well with the more explosive/massive sound they chose for the first part of the album. Fortunately, I think they managed to make this popular explosive sound their own here, implementing the best parts from the overall slower albums with Clementine. 04. Tonight I'm Alive - honestly, respect for whoever wrote this - they managed to chase away many of my doubts in basically the last moment. A nice dose of surprise (for me). My favourite single! 💙 Really brings out in the daylight the funniest variant of my awful dancing. 05. Armada - (unfortunately or not, depends on the listener) really similar to Legion of the Seas; although I actually like it more out of the two. Has a little more humour in it, that's why. Can't wait to hear both live in Milan - they promise to be so much fun! Hail Jolly Roger! 06. The Dead Of The Sea - a great opportunity to pinpoint just how goood the vocal duo is. Their voices go together like bread and butter if you ask me. Probably at the core of things it's this that made their last 3 albums a success. Both Clemi and Michele really shine here. 07. Ashes To The Sea - here we go, a ballad! Hooray! Slow tracks are always great if they're made by Visions of Atlantis (fangirling: 100). They just have something that gets me every time. 08. Hellfire - can I say how much I love the fact that in this album they never slow down after the nice/bombastic intros? Many bonus points from me here. The Alestorm junkie in me immediately responded to that "Hellfire!" call, and the whole song is a banger. Another heart of special recommending from me.💙 09. Collide - interestingly, Clemi's parts here immediately reminded me of Exit Eden... 10. Magic Of The Night - another dance-y song. They're just so fun to me. Also, guys, please stop exciting me with those woodwinds?! I fall for those EVERY TIME, I'm a little ashamed... XD 11. Underwater - ballad #2 - in the usual place in the tracklist. A classic Visions of Atlantis one, with an accent on Clemi's indisputable talent. 12. Where The Sky And Ocean Blend - had a lot of expectations for the closing track, since I Will Be Gone was my favourite from the last album. I'm glad to say that I'm satisfied with it's diversity and lyrics (looove the bridge)! Now, GIVE ME MOOORE!!!

Conclusion: The band's adorable style - combining a very romantic dreaminess with a lot of humour, continues to entice me - especially since the last is even more prevalent here compared to the previous album. I'm very happy that they managed to surprise me with a lot of the instrumentals. All songs look fun to sing along to, but I don't know all the lyric yet. Gotta solve this soon! Fun fact: did you know that the "characters" of the albums are first identified as pirates in a song from Wanderers - At The End Of The World? ("We will make our life / Like the pirates we once were") Did I mention that I can't wait to see them in Milan...

How do you rank hair for the lps gang?

Oh mamma, I'm gonna have fun with this one. I'm about to do a deep dive analysis on this mf. Let's start with the easier ones, or rather the bald ones *vine boom sound*.

Sunil: so, well, he doesn't really have hair, but he does have those three strands of fur on his stupid little head. And I know what you're thinking, "it's just three little strands, not much here". And sure, until you realize how weird he looks without them. Fortunately, we have animation errors

Terryfying, I know. You gotta admit that they give him charm too. But! We do have songs during which he has hair:

I'm quite sure those are all the occasions he had hair. Anddd those are okay, nothing crazy for me, but not bad either, especially that last one. He gets a solid 5/10 which is a good score for a hair rating competition considering that he doesn't even have hair.

Penny Ling: okay, well, she's fully bald but she did have hair a few times too, specifically during humanarian and sweet shop songs:

And while I'm not a fan of the first one, the second one does look kinda good. I like the cherry on top. I like the color too, it's great. Considering all that she gets a... 4/10! Mainly because she's bald (but we love it). The sweet shop hair gets a 9/10 though.

And the last bald pet, Russell: Well, the least bald of them because he has those quills. Still not hair though! But them quills are good at replacing hairdos, those are quilldos if you will.

And can I just say how incredible they look in humanarian? I genuinely mean it, it looks amazing. It's kinda simple, but damn boy, he looks goood. I absolutely love it. It's still hair rating though so he gets a 6/10, mainly because those quills are pretty good hair-mimicking and just in general look good. If it wasn't a hair rating thing he would get a 10/10 but alas.

Now onto those who actually have hair, Pepper: she's unfortunately at a disadvantage because I'm a sucker for longer hair, but besides her regular hairdo she also has those:

Which are all okay, I'm I love this first one, plus her hair doesn't have any of those lines, and it actually looks pretty great? Smooth. The third one is what it needs to be and the second one, well, as I said I'm not a fan of short hair. Her hair does look good on her though so I guess I will give her 5/10.

Minka: okay, so her hair is rather short too, and you know what else she has? That's right, pigtails. And, you know what's weird? That most of the time I don't like this hairstyle but on her?? I can't tell you why but I do like it, not love it but like it. Maybe it's because of that fringe? Idk. Let's look at Minka's hairstyles:

Okay, I have simped enough already for those sweet shop hair, but fuccing look at hers, the best one in my opinion. The color looks great and I adore those candies, looks awesome. But omg, this humanarian hair might just be my favourite out of everyone throughout the enitire show. I can't tell what it is but she looks awesome. It looks perhaps even better from the back. The third one is just her without her pigtails, and you know what? That's still short hair but again, for some reason looks good. She gets a solid 7/10. If she had long pigtails (Hatsune Miku style) like I saw in one art piece she would easily get a 9/10 or maybe even 10/10.

Vinnie: oh boy, the one time when I won't appear biased. Probably. Still am. But, there's a reason why I gave him completely different hairstyle in my headcanon xD. His actual hair is too slick. He still looks great, don't get me wrong, but if it was me, I would do it differently. And the thing is, if his hair was just slightly different I would like it so much more. But more about that in a second. He gets bonus points because his hair is I guess kinda long? Hard to say really. But let's see.

Oops, sorry, that's from my private collection and not hair realated, let's move on.

And listen, LisTeN, in all of those he looks amazing (yeah, i count wet hair as a hairstyle just because it's so much different than his usual one), absolutely incredible if you ask me. And why? I mean, those are all quite different. Well, because they are all ruffled aka they're not slick. And all of those look incredible. If his everyday hairstyle looked like on that first picture he, similarly to Minka, would get a 9 or 10/10. And it's really not a big difference too. I would give him a 7/10 but since I count the other hairstyles as well and those are incredible he gets an 8/10.

Zoe: you see, there's a problem with Zoe. What the hell do I count as her hair??! Because she has that fringe, right? But she also has her goddamn ears that are supposed to be ears but are so often part of her hairstyle they might as well be hair! I don't know what kinda goofy cartoon logic is that but now I have to figure it out. Like seriously, sometimes her ears pretty much seem like they changed where they are attached just to fit the hairstyle and most of the time it seems like her ears have been complately transformed into hair. Did any of us ever stop to think that this dog's literal ears are incorporated into a hairdo? But okay, since they are so often part of her hair let's say that I count that too. So, Zoe has a lot going on for her. (At least the way it literally changes lengts) her hair can be considered long. Plus, she has that strand of pink, which technically makes her hair two-colored which usually looks good and makes it more interesting. It sure does in this case. And third, she got a shit-ton of different hairdos and a lot of them look incredible, plus, she's got that "hair covering one eye" swag. She's got way too many hairstyles for me to include all but here are some of my favourites:

I can't lie, she looks awesome, definitely 10/10 even if she kinda cheats with those disappearing, transforming ears.

Last Song: I was listening to a mix on YouTube of 2000s hip hop at work :P

I can listen to music while I’m working, but so I don’t pull my phone out all the time I try to find hour-long DJ mixes (in hopes that fast/dance-y music will keep my energy up as I do boring work all day lol)

I use the app PlayTube instead of the official YouTube app or YouTube Music, because it has no ads (for FREE!!) and also lets the video continue playing when I lock my phone or minimize the app. Its autoplay feature is actually pretty good at finding another similar hour-long mix to play after the one I searched, so I usually don’t even notice the video changed.

Though PlayTube is probably the 3rd or 4th unofficial YouTube app I’ve had in the past few years, because after a while they either must get Cease & Desist’d or something by YouTube, or they just end up doing what I’m trying to avoid and make you pay for things and/or show ads.

Last Show: Do web shows count? I don’t really watch anything else lol - For that it would be UNHhhh :P I think they’re so funny, and their dynamic reminds me a lot of my friend & me. My friend also watches them, so we’re always joking about who acts like Trixie & who acts like Katya lol

Currently Watching: Umm idk, gameplay videos on YouTube lol

Currently Reading: Not really currently, but I reread Ghost World by Daniel Clowes after getting a physical copy of it - idk if that counts because it’s a comic lol but it’s just my favorite.... thing in general, so I’m really happy I have a physical copy of it that I can see & hold & stuff lol

Current Obsession: I guess my PS2, but now that I’ve reinstalled TS2 it’s fallen a bit to the wayside :P I’ve had it on my computer desk hooked up to my monitor for quite a while now, just no active interest in playing my PS2 games. But then I got the first 2 Katamari games, and that’s been really fun!

1. Are you named after anyone?

Umm well I named myself lol but it’s basically a shortening of my last name, so... I’m named after myself :P

2. When was the last time you cried?

When I got a migraine last week. It was this super intense aching pain behind my eyes & temples that lasted for hours/days, and I was woken up by the worst of it after the acetaminophen I took wore off.

Although it hurt, tbh I’m kinda used to just powering through pain, so I didn’t think much of it other than it sucks, but then I started crying as like an instinctive reaction to the pain? idk as I was crying I was like “What, this doesn’t even hurt that bad” lol it was completely automatic

3. Do you have kids?

Nope, I don’t plan on having any either - I’m getting an (elective) hysterectomy in a few weeks actually lol so if for some reason I ever change my mind despite never doing so yet, they’re not coming from me :P

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Pretty much never - I’m very literal about things, and although I can recognize when people are using it I just don’t really see like... the point in adding to it myself I guess? Like if we’re using sarcasm to “secretly” talk about not liking something, I’d rather just openly talk about not liking the thing instead of going “Ohh yeahhh this thing is sooo goood *eyeroll*” over & over lolsdfgdf

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

Roller derby, kind of? I’ve never done any sports even as a kid, but back in 2017 I spent a few weeks training with my city’s roller derby team. I didn’t know how to roller skate at all before I started, but as it’d be hard to find enough people to make a team otherwise they just teach everyone roller skating from the beginning.

I never got on the team, mainly because it involved time/money I didn’t really have at that point, and idk what my results on their final skill evaluation was so I’m not sure if I’d have made it anyway lol. I wasn’t that set on playing on the team though, I just thought I’d try something new for once and I got to learn how to roller skate out of it!

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?

Probably how they treat others, like if they’re talking to people or in a group nearby me I end up listening to their conversations - I mean they’re right there and I have no control over my sense of attention/focus sooooo lol

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

I like both, only having one or the other gets a little boring :P

8. Any special talents?

idk how special I’d actually call it, but a lot of my coworkers point it out as something I’m really good at (which I think is weird because it seems normal but that’s just me lol) - I guess my ability to figure out solutions to things?

Like I’m not that smart tbh but I know the steps to basic troubleshooting, trial & error, process of elimination, etc.... That just feels like common sense to me, but apparently not everyone uses it lol

9. Where were you born?

Midwest US, where everyone used to joke about how cold it was but now they don’t because climate change yaaaay -_-

10. What are your hobbies?

Whatever lets me be creative, like customizing/decorating things I have, taking photos, drawing, and video games of course!

11. Do you have any pets?

Nooo, I love cats but my apartment is really small and since I’m at work all day I’d feel bad for making a cat live here lol

5′5″, I actually thought I was 5′4″ until like 6 months ago lol - I swear I was before, though I’m not really measuring my height regularly :P

14. Dream job?

idk, I thought it was art but now every way that could go sounds like I’d hate it at some point lol - tbh I like what I do now, because it lets me do a lot of things the way I want to without being told what to do directly, and it involves a lot of organizing/categorizing which I really enjoy doing in general.

I don’t really want to do this specific job at this specific company for my whole life, but my dream job would be really similar to it I think
