Hi! Thank you for such a insightful addition :)
Most of the fanart I drew of the girl in white is mostly of my own hcs of her based on the context given throughout the series.
Before she is first introduced in s1, we are introduced to Seven's assassination targets, majority of which seem to be weirdos, or straight up assholes, who in each episode does some weird, quirky shit but at the end, it's revealed that they do so out of their love and desire to protect the people and the things they cherish.
After sitting through each episode of similar episodic narratives and arriving at the final episode to see the girl in white stab Seven in the back, you can't help but feel that this isn't the whole picture, even without any reason given to justify her actions, because of how the theme has been repeated, regardless of the morality of the individual, throughout the whole first season.
As we go to the second and third season, we learn a little more about XuanWu, the girl in white and Seven's homeland. Throughout both seasons we are given hints that XuanWu is a borderline inhabitable place, where only the strong survive and are respected, while the weak become the bottom feeders of society, preyed upon by monsters, and even regular citizens can be assassinated at any moment.
Through both seasons we also learn that Seven doesn't want to live in constant struggle for survival, and that the girl in white is actually a soft spoken, gentle individual (or at least, that's how Seven sees her) While we don't know how skilled the girl in white is with her swords or her qi, it seems that both could have a wish to leave the country.
They could have come up with a plan to escape and staged that attack, or the girl in white could have acted on impulse to save both their lives. They both would have survived the fall, and what happens after that probably leads Seven to chicken island.
I think s4 solidifies a lot of these points, especially with how the backstabbing scene went, with Seven's amnesia being drug induced rather than what we were led to believe that it's from the fall at the bridge.
I also think that the girl dying at Manjusaka's hands (or even at the bridge) would be silly, bc if she truly had ill intent towards Seven death would simply be an easy escape route for her (bc she'll never have to confront Seven and he'll never understand why) , and if she didn't her backstory and what happens to her after the bridge would be crucial as she's literally the catalyst of the whole goddamn show.

Idk but something about her ambiguity to the plot has captivated me like no other
(also the parallels between her and Thirteen with Seven is just *chef's kiss* ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ)
