I’m very tired of the claim that comic books are difficult to get into because they aren’t- they are very purposefully not that way. Comics actually go out of their way to explain every single thing to you constantly just in case you’re a new reader picking up this issue(or if you skipped a few issues).

I’ll concede they seem hard to get into from the outside but comics ARE NOT hard to get into you dont even need to follow a reading list or start at issue one just pick up a book.

wore contact lenses instead of glasses today and almost burst into tears when i saw myself in the mirror. like. i want to be that guy. i'm so fucking tired of glasses & the way they distort my fucking face

#'just wear contacts all the time then' alas that shit hurts if i do it for longer than a couple of hours at a time #and looking at screens or trying to read any small text while wearing contacts is torture frankly #and so i'm stuck with Fucking Glasses. and so so SO tired #i'm tired of never seeing shit and never recognising anyone even when i do wear glasses bc my eyesight is apparently just that fucking bad #i'm tired i'm tired i'm TIRED. i don't recognise my own FACE in the mirror #since there's always Fucking Glasses on it and i forget what i look like without them #god nerfed me in a million little ways #but making me this nearsighted and then ineligible for laser eyesight corrections feels just especially cruel #personal blah #started googling laser eye surgery in the area and i'm about to give myself a bass boosted panic attack with it lmaoooo #then again. last time i looked into this was... five? six years ago? what if something changed since then. what if i COULD get it fixed now #hhhHHHHH. closing the websites! going to get groceries. going to Not Think About Any Of This or i'm gonna start fucking crying for real #god. i just love dreaming of surgeries i won't ever be able to get. #i like her a lot. her whole thing is that she has this huge well of knowledge around the thing she’s passionate about (humans) and has spent #so long and put so much effort into piecing together elements of human culture and translating languages literally just by herself because #it’s fun to her and she should probably be in like a museum or something or writing a thesis on this stuff but unfortunately she’s a weird #recluse who’s too scared to leave her apartment because she just ran out of deodorant and she thinks if she goes outside without it to buy #more everybody will attack her dead with laser eyes. so none of this information is going anywhere or being used for anything. it’s all just #a small hobby for her. I’ve wanted to have a splatoon character passionate about humans like this for a long time #she has human anime that she has recovered footage of and spliced together fragmented scenes of and translated/subtitled by herself and if #you come over to her house she’ll ask if you want to watch it with her. unfortunately she barely knows anyone other than dolly so nobody is #ever going to see or know about this
