The Between Lore (for the Ghostbusters RP blog accounts that don’t have the discord (yet)

The Between (also called the Doors) is often mistaken for the Fae Realm. It is a never ending field and forest full of doors. You could come from anywhere and literally end up anywhen.

A door can be anything. A door in any regular building. The sliding doors to a grocers. An old well cover. A circle of mushrooms. A cardboard box…

Doors can open to any point in time. They can open anywhere on this planet. They can even open to parallel dimensions like the redscale dimension. Think greyscale, but everything is a shade of red.

The Between is guarded by a creature (Lars calls it the Guardian because that’s what its purpose seems to be). Most of the time, it presents itself as an angry mass of shadows, screeching and screaming at any living thing it sees. It is assumed that the Guardian eats what it considers trespassers into its realm, however this has never been seen by a living being.

Currently, the only know safe place is on the other side of a red farmhouse door. That will take you to the home of a couple named Olly and Jenny. They are farmers who are so used to accidentally traveler’s mistaking them for fae that they have begun to play into the idea.

This is an original concept that I created to connect all my original (yet to be written) stories together. That doesn’t mean other things (like the GBuniverse for example) don’t have doors to and from there.

This is horrifyingly accurate.

Lars has definitely accidentally almost killed one of his American lab partners through British understatement.

(Example so we’re all on the same page: The legendary PA address from British Airways Flight 9 - "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them going again. I trust you are not in too much distress.”)

He’ll go “Oh. That’s a shame.” and then get surprised and horrified when all the lab partners take it literally and DON’T run for their lives.

“Hm. That’s not brilliant.” and it’s like. The apocalypse part 5 is coming.

“Oh. Oh dear.” and he has to pull Lucky back when she goes to ask what’s wrong because he just got almost killed by a ghost.

You all have no idea how excited I am to be sharing the Between in a place that it actually makes sense. I've had the concept for it for so long and have wanted to tell a story about it but every time I've tried it's never been noticed or self about has won.

Truthfully, it started as something to connect all my original works in my head together. That doesn't mean one of the doors in the field or one of the doors in the forest doesn't lead to the Ghostbusters universe...

Trevor's blog runner doesn't even know what the Between is and I can't wait to see what creative chaos they bring to the table!

KEEP THE QUESTIONS COMING!!!! Even if you know nothing of Ghostbusters ask something really fucking random.

Someone's been asking stuff about Doctor Who and I'm able to share that information (shit I actually know because my mind is filled with "useless" nerd facts instead of things like math and science - this is made funnier by the fact that the character I'm running an ask blog for is a scientist) through a character.

Ask about the weather! Ask about theme parks, song recommendations, about sitcoms (I prefer British comedy tv shows in all honesty) Ask for recommendations on comic series or some shit, I don't know! Even if you come by just to say hi, ask how the day is going!

Just spent most of the evening in quarantine. I'm back home safely.

Have either of you seen the bent nose pliers? If you haven't seen them then that means that one of the Mini Puffs that got out on Friday probably took them and broke something. Again.

Where I’ve been. 

After clocking out Wednesday, I was banned from any work related activities for 96 hours. Apparently, discussing the spelling of Mini Pufts on Tumblr counted (thank you whoever snitched. I will find you.) as work related. That didn’t stop me from scrolling through the for you page through the app on my phone. Still don’t know if downloading it was a mistake or not…

I tried getting into the lab on Saturday. I spent most of Thursday catching up on sleep, Friday was for going to the shops and doing laundry. By the time Saturday came around I wanted to go back to work. Apparently Mr. Zeddemore locked me out. He’s done it before - the last time I was surviving off of caffeine, determination and stubbornness - I don’t know why I thought he wouldn’t do it again. 

Now that my security badge is working again and I can access the building, I’m going to catch up on anything I’ve missed, then go through the blog's inbox. Hopefully, I haven’t missed any emergencies.

Can you burn yourself? I mean with the fire and all- or are you like immune? Have you accidentally set someone on fire before?

I’ve been sort of immune to everything I’ve handled so far but like, I don’t really want to test the theory. I’m not going to set myself on fire. I don’t want to find out the hard way that I’m NOT immune.

And yeah, I did set Lars on fire once. But it was HIS fault, okay? Not mine.

I will admit, the timing of this is slightly alarming.

We seem to be in the proper dimension. Problem is we're in the middle of the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. I am sorry to say, someone will have to make the drive to pick us up.
