I don't remember you, but whenever I see you, I feel a burning rage inside of me. All I know is you were a coward, an idiot- You only saw the surface of things and didn't bother to dig deeper. Now? I know it all. I'm not you anymore. I hope you rot.

I was talking to my sister about my unrealistic life dream, and she was like "you should vlog that! You'd be such a good youtuber." My love, no. The extent of my social media usage is my niche aesthetic blog on tumblr.com and my 50 follower private instagram

obsessed with Lord Scurlock in our Blades campaign. he has the power of 20 guys.  he’s in a slow burn romance against his will with a man he’s never met. he can teleport through water.  he once stood outside a restaurant for 30 minutes, staring at his date, and then left.  he has something going on with a demon and a secret base in the catacombs.  today someone asked him about his love life and instead of being normal and saying, “actually, this tier I gang that’s too scared to blow up some rocks totally made all of this up,” he panicked and threw the reporter in the river.

i'm running a 50% off sale of all my tabletop games and larps! it's been almost a year since i put anything on sale, and between a big move, a big car repair, and other unavoidable life expenses happening to me it seemed to be time.
in this bundle you can find games such as:
time to drop, a game where you play as a heist crew stuck in a time loop of their One Last Job
the dark sentencer, a tarot based game about escaping a high-security space prison
chorelock, a larp where you’re a warlock trying to convince a demon to do your chores
house, a map-making game where you draw the floorplan for a fucked up house while exploring it in-character
you can check out any time you like..., a game where you play as the inhabitants of a haunted hotel outside of space and time
alone with the killer, a journaling game where you’re a final girl in the third act of a slasher film
banquo at the feast, a party game where everyone accuses each other of murder
and more! tell your friends!

I wish we saw more casual diversity among Vulcans in regards to... well, everything: fashion, art, history, geography, language, religion and philosophy, occupations, familial units, and logical styles and emotional management, and so on. The monoculture that "Star Trek" tends towards is both unrealistic and kind of boring.
(I think that my ideal "Star Trek" show would have a minimum of two matching non-humans in the main crew who are from opposite sides of their planet; these two alien coworkers have almost NOTHING in common. It immediately creates compelling character dynamics.)
Anyway, even within the specific Surakian Logic sect that Spock and his family seem to belong to, there's still opportunity for fun, divisive hobbies among this particular group of Vulcans. We can have judgey Vulcans looking at other Vulcans' weird, harmless antics and saying, "What illogical behavior," while the other Vulcans are judging them back for being illogical in their own opinion. Let Vulcans be REAL nerds: I think that pre-Surak historical reenactment is not an uncommon hobby, both casual LARPing and hardcore reenactment.
It's educational to spin and weave and sew your own pre-Surakian garments! It's educational to forge your own weaponry! It's grounding, like meditation! It is humbling to truly realize the complicated labor involved in fabrication. Even when they were surrendering to their emotional urges, you know, Vulcan ancestors were not completely illogical: they knew how to fashion a comfortable garment well-suited to the desert. Camping in the wilderness and foraging for food connects oneself to nature, teaches about history, and settles oneself in the present.
Also, it's good physical exercise and emotionally cathartic to beat the shit out of each other with foam-wrapped lirpa, screaming at the top of your lungs. It's very logical. There's a medical team on standby, reading on their pads and drinking tea.
You beam down in the wrong part of the desert at the right time and find a bunch of scantily-clad Vulcan warriors (outfits depend on the chosen time period and location) (of all genders) shrieking and rolling in the dirt, until a timer goes off, and then the scheduled mock-battle is over and everyone helps each other up. (Depends how hardcore the group is, of course.) (Also, yeah, obviously, some of these groups have a hook-up culture attached / embedded.) Two bleeding guys who were previously punching each other in the face salute each other and part ways, one to go write a new archeological paper based on his findings here ("Fascinating") and the other to his low-level government desk job ("Most invigorating exercise").
If this happens anywhere near where people live, then the neighbors are shaking their heads and saying to each other, "I don't know how anyone could come to their conclusions and call it logical. Their foundational premises must be flawed." 😐 Some of them while closely watching the entire scandalous affair through binoculars and telescopes, of course. 🤔

how much more obvious can they get? the foreshadowing is practically plain text now. it’s all been cosplay — a game, a LARP, a parody of the doctor’s life and adventures. the TV signals of the show “Doctor Who” beam out across the stars and everybody wants to watch. everybody wants to feast their eyes on the drama and outrage and tragedy. everybody wants to play, and it’s almost time for the season finale!
bonus — Ruby peering through the bookshelves at the Bridgerton-esque scandal unfolding in front of her, almost exactly as if she were watching the events through a screen:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there it is. the Doctor has been unwittingly trapped in a TV show since god knows when (The Church on Ruby Road? maybe even Wild Blue Yonder?). Susan Twist is a recurring extra, or the showrunner, or the director, or a member of the crew trying to warn them by repeatedly appearing in the simulation.
the TV show is called The Legend of Ruby Sunday. and what a game we are playing, what a wonderful, wonderful game

And while we're even vaguely on the topic of showing off larp outfits:

Everyone's least favourite cabin boy got a new look recently, consisting almost entirely of actual hand-me-downs from his crew members. All that's left to do is replacing the buttons on the coat with less modern ones

Twisted metal and plastic shards, nothing will keep the beast at bay. Why do you put hope in a false savior? A cheap disguise, trapped in an endless cycle we play. Abandoned, alone, and cold, but unshackled from your labor. Your freedom mocks me, and yet you gave it away.

Buttonblossom Analysis in TADC Episode 2
Tumblr media
(Background rainbows: hint, hint)
Ragatha was so sweet to Pomni in episode 2 🥺💖 Most people caught onto the obvious fact that Raggs is being codependant and leans onto toxic positivity on the way she tries to cheer up Pomni, but I still think for the most part her heart is in the right place.
I liked their dynamic in episode 1, but I liked it so much in 2 I decided to write a little analysis on it (plus the ship fuel 👀) in preparation for the romance fic I'm writing about them.
Without further ado, let's go!
Tumblr media
Looking back at Ragatha, on the good side, she made some very strong, active efforts to help her during her transition into the digital realm. She checked first thing in the morning if she was okay, she tried to make her feel included in the adventure at the beginning and showed care for her safety overall.
My favorite scene, though, is when the circus gang falls into the fudge river and after checking in on them, the first thing she says is: "Poor Pomni!" 😭 Girlie is so empathetic she even manages to care for someone who's not even there, while she's in a terrible situation herself!
Tumblr media
I think this proves how much of a good person Raggs is. She doesn't just help people to feel good or superior, she does it because she geniuenly cares for other people's wellbeing and I find that very noble 😊
On the negative side, she seems to have some very particular communication issues with Pomni, even though she seems to be the circus memeber she cares the most about at the moment.
Tumblr media
For starters, her attitude comes off as a little condescending very often. She hardly asks questions to Pomni and tends to assume for her. She hardly acknowledges some of her struggles and tries to downplay them, like when she degrades their experience as "larping". Also, she makes Pomni feel like a child when she tries to "hype her up" in her own words.
If we take Pomni's nightmare into consideration, it seems she believes Ragatha thinks Pomni is not "cut out for it", which might be a result of her condescending behavior I just mentioned.
Tumblr media
This makes sense to me and also sheds a little bit of light on how Pomni sees herself as: small and insignificant. It's unclear at the moment how she was before on the physical world, but I speculate based on this evidence she probably didn't think she had much agency in her life (just how she feels in the circus).
At the end, however, thanks to her experience with Gummigoo and looking at the crew grief over Kaufmo's abstraction, Pomni opens herself more to the crew, which is a very good sign.
Tumblr media
I think her current dynamic with Ragatha is wicked cool! ✨️ There's a lot of room for growth, which is good in my opinion. Ragatha clearly cares a lot about Pomni and I think with time she could grow to reciprocate her as well.
Despite her cowardness in episode 1, I always had the feeling that Pomz was deep down a caring individual as well, which was solidly proven in 2 with her interactions with Gummi.
On the fanon side, I saw a lot of fans foaming at the mouth (myself included) over the fact that Ragatha was such a tryhard with Pomni (which was anticipated to be the contrary). Some fans have interpreted their potential dynamics as both being shy, which I really, really like.
Tumblr media
I believe I will definitely include that in my future fanfic. Another idea I wanted to explore is Pomni talking to Ragatha about her overbearing issues, while still appreciating her good qualities at the same time.
I think it's going to be great ☺️❤ I already look forward to what the end result is going to be. I love mutual pining and I love sweet lesbians caring for each other (even when they're silly girlfails). I'm planning to start by submitting chapter 1 by next Friday and submit a new one every following one, as I've done before.
Get ready for digital lesbian shenanigans 🎪💙🎀 See ya!

So a friend of mine works at a youth center that occasionally organizes youth larps. The kids are all between 12 and 17, and usually the folks from our larp group will show up and play some npcs. We've also showed up as a pirate crew once which caused exactly the type of mayhem you'd expect if you set a bunch of teenagers (notoriously dramatic anarchists) loose on a bunch of pirates (notoriously dramatic anarchists)
This weekend we're npcing again, and while the original plan was to just assign us some quest-giving roles, my friend texted me last night to announce a change of plans:
"hey the kids want the pirates to come back. bring Lutz?"
So now instead of just handing out tasks to some children, me and a disgruntled cannoneer will take two dozen bloody theatre kids on a treasure hunt. What the fuck am I doing with my free time

So glad to hear you enjoyed Empire! I don't larp myself anymore, but my Wife still does and loves it. She's one of the Empire skirmish crew leads, so if you got run over by monsters at any point, it was probably her fault xD
Did you get a chance to join the monster team this time around? Or are you saving that until you've a few more events under your belt?
I did get run over by monsters on my first time out so please pass my thanks along! Unfortunately I had to leave early on the Sunday due to family health issues. Looking forward to next event though where I can double-monster to pay my dues. :)

All the basic info copypasted from the website:
Practicalities
What: A Disco Elysium larp for around 100 players.
When: 18-22 & 25-29 September 2024 (1 day of workshops, 2 days of play)
Where: Old Military Hospital, Terezín (Czech Republic)
Cost: €290 €145
Produced by: Rolling & and international crew
Language: English
Location: Old military hospital, in the middle of the city. Indoors and outdoors environment. Location has basic amenities (toilets, water etc) but don’t expect high standard (no central heating).
Accessibility: Not wheel chair friendly (no elevators, stairs, thresholds). Very sensitive allergies or asthmatics may have problems with the environment.
Time: Players will be required to be in Terezín on Wednesday evening, for a full day of workshops, briefings, player meetings and co-creation. The game itself will start on Thursday afternoon and run until Saturday afternoon — with less intense or no play at all for night time sleeping (players choice).
Costumes & props: Key costume elements and key props will be provided. You bring a base layer, shoes, and any extra props you want. Costumes and props are mostly attainable by modern second-hand shopping.
Food & drink: Scheduled breakfast, lunch, and dinner (served in-game). We will provide water, tea, and vegetarian food, with the whole menu available beforehand, allowing people to bring food to address their allergies and special needs.
Design stuff
Potential content warnings: Racism, violence, physical larping, political extremism, loud noises, realistic firearms, drug use, oppression, suicide, actual work.
Design & play style: Immersive experience grounded in a poetic world. Expect some scripted stories in the form of fateplay and collaborative rather than competitive play. Individual character-specific plots. Not full transparency. Some non-diegetic meta-techniques.
Sign up process: Lottery system with certain conditions applied by organisers. Upon selection in the lottery, players pay the participation fee and receive full character and access to the participant website. Players will have option to signal they are uncomfortable playing with somebody or think somebody is not safe to be at the event.
Co-creation: Pre-written characters. Act structure with some specific limitations and/or mechanics; otherwise, players have the freedom to create. Players are not expected to prepare or create relations, have meetings, partake in events, etc., before the event. Lore is established by organisers, and players act within provided frames. There is an established overarching arc for the larp, with some set events. Artist characters will be creating art during the game.
Physical & emotional safety: Opt-out techniques & safety techniques. Some themes, mechanics or content of the larp are very general and not opt-outable (for example, “poverty”). Mechanics for violence and fighting that lean more towards simple conflict resolution than boffer fighting. Dedicated organisers on premises for safety, medical, and emotional support. Calibration and escalation/de-escalation techniques will be workshopped and encouraged.
What will we be doing: Playing out conflicts, romances, brawls, revealing secrets from the past, pursuing political goals, dealing with community problems. Creating art, music, weird performances, or just striving to have a normal, working family. The slice-of-life approach means that work is also part of the game. Most players will have 2-3 hours of some form of “work” to perform each day (not very physically taxing). Scheduled and spontaneous activities in the characters’ social groups (hobbies, families, politics, interest groups, etc.). Socialising, trading, scheming or just chilling and people-watching. There will be plenty of low-threshold activities on-site for everyone to be involved in if interested. Our aim is to create a living, breathing world. Everyone will be able to get 8 hours of sleep.
