I have an extensive Niklaren Goldeye backstory and also he is absolutely played by Siddig El Fadil. I think. Thoughts inspired by my friend @eidetictelekinetic excellent meta and also @lemonsharks just in general and @gen-is-gone now!

Extensive backstory:

For me he’s actually not a noble - I did write a whole fic in which he is the Emelan equivalent of Mizrahi Jewish (which might be Trader in part) whose family were killed in a pogrom because there was an outbreak of disease blamed on them (which makes him finding Sandry more Something).

And then he got taken into a brothel as a child until his magic exploded (which I imagine for a mage whose magic involves seeing the future was maybe not on Tris levels but it was a lot).

Which is part of why he (a) hates dirt and (b) never ever looks patronisingly at any of his adopted children.

Also he’s bisexual and honestly the teacher OT4 is real.
