Weather-Enforced Hiatus :c

It's not cooling down here any time soon, and probably won't until like... September, or even October :/ :/ :/ As a result, I won't be rendering much, if at all, until then.

As usual, you can ping me via DM or Discord if you want to show me something cursed or have me rebagel your works, but I won't really be following my dash in any consistent manner.

Finally, I get to say what I’ve been wanting to say for a week now.

Look, I enjoy being proven wrong. Weird right? I like it when I have a stance that I fully support and someone comes right in with a well-reasoned argument about why I’m wrong and makes me reconsider. I also respect that in others. It’s absolutely pointless arguing with someone who won’t budge an inch no matter what, even if you show facts and information that proves how wrong they are. Those kinds of people have so little personal growth.

But I also like being right, and when the two-facedness of the Supercorp fandom is put on display, thus validating every single bit of criticism I’ve ever had about them, I feel good about not just sitting back and normalizing their toxic, shitty behavior.

Because I can’t resist giving credit where it’s due, a surprisingly large number of the Supercorp fandom is not happy with Lena right now. It’s not even close to being the majority, but it’s still much higher than I thought it would be. Granted, my original estimation was none so literally, any number above that is more than I thought.

But holy crap, the people who are trying to make excuses for Lena boggles my mind! One of the biggest complains about Mon-El that the SC fandom ever had is that he was a slave owner. I mean, they wouldn’t shutup about it, and rightfully so, but Lena can literally enslave someone right before their eyes and they will make excuses for her so it’s not nearly as fucked up as it really is.

Although tumblr was being difficult since I made this new blog and wasn’t letting me post, I could still browse and what I saw made me cringe harder than I ever have before.

They are bold-facedly making excuses for Lena for things that they DAMNED Mon-El for doing. The difference is that Mon-El used to be a slave owner because that was part of his society and how he grew up, while Lena knows slavery is fucked up but is still doing it!

It’s no secret if you followed my old blog that I never liked Mon-El. His presence made Kara into a MUCH worse character and sent her self-respect into the trash can every single time she forgave him in the exact same episodes he fucked up in for things that would sink any healthy relationship. They also replaced a healthy relationship built on trust (Karolsen) with a relationship built on lies and disrespect. That on top of the show replacing the black lead character with a white ex-slave owner.

So imagine how difficult it is when I have to talk about Mon-El in a positive light in order to call out the SC fandom on their fuckery. That’s the position the SC fandom has put me in, having to look favorably upon Mon-El. Ugh.

This post is long enough, although I have more to say and I will very soon. I just want to split it up a bit otherwise this will be thirty pages long.
