The beach laps slowly and Natasha feels at peace.

The holiday has been Clint’s idea. The last month had been trying at best and they’d felt that they needed to do something to redeem it.

Fury seemed annoyed at the prospect of both of them taking leave, but Maria has nullified his responses by arguing that if he didn’t let them go, it’s likely they would need a longer stint of leave later on.

“A week,” he’d said, “and you’d better be back refreshed and ready to go.”

With that, Clint had opened his laptop and booked flights to Tunisia, knowing that Natasha would enjoy the palm trees and multitude of cats that seemed to be everywhere.

“Nat?” Clint yawns from the adjacent beach towel, propping himself on his elbows and looking out to the expanse.

“I’m glad to be here with you,” he says.

She cocks her head and batters sand towards him.

“What made you say that?”

The words, though welcome, seemed out of place as they’d been talking about eggplants just before.

“I don’t know,” he says laying back down, his arms on his chest with a smile.

“I just feel lucky.”

Natasha takes in his words, mirrors his position and lays down, not feeling the need to fill the silence that follows.

Time passes, into mid morning, the slowness of the day pleasant even as her stomach growls.

“Food?” She prompts Clint, as he puts down his book and looks over to her.

“Sure,” he agrees readily.

His eagerness endearing, she asks him what he wants, the indecision often feeling hard when they were away, the options too vast and open.

“Cake,” he decides quickly, as though reading her mind.

“Something sweet?”

He nods.

“Of course, then maybe some real food.”

Natasha grins, wrapping the towel around her and helping him to her feet.

“Do you have a favourite cake?” Clint asks, frowning as though the question should have been asked a lifetime ago.

They move slowly to the café they’d found on the first day, the older woman who’s shop it was, recognising them and ushering them to, what Clint could only assume was the table she considered the best, the only one with a view of the ocean, unimpeded by palm trees.

They both nod to her and she hands them the menu.

Natasha looks down, finding a cat with white paws asleep at her feet and she smiles.

“Kitty,” she whispers.

“I don’t know,” she answers Clint.

“I like cheese cake,” Clint decides, “in case you were going to ask.”

Natasha laughs.

“Sure. Cheese cake. I like Turkish delight,” she answers. “But the rose flavoured one with pistachio.”

“Fancy,” Clint agrees.

“What do you feel like? Samsa or Baklava?”

Natasha scoffs.

“Baklava, of course,” she replies, pointing to it on the menu for the woman hovering. Then considers lunch, ordering two coffees and two fricasse - one without lemons for Clint.

She looks to the ocean, still thinking of the way it lapped in and out and the quietness that it imbued in her mind.

“I’m going to get up for sunrise tomorrow,”she tells Clint. “I want to see it break over the ocean.”

Clint nods, unsurprised.

“I’ll be sleeping,” he replies with a lopsided grin.

“Of course,” she rolls her eyes.

“I don’t want to go back,” she admits, putting her sunglasses back on, as the sun glints down on the table.

Clint shakes his head.

“One day we can run away,” he laughs.

“But for now, we have some miles to go.���

“Yeah,” Natasha agrees.

“It won’t be long, and the year will be done. I just want some good out of it.”

Clint nods, thinking on her words.

“Sometimes it’s just one day at a time and enjoying it right? So don’t think of what’s next Nat. Just think of the day,” he pauses, “and how lucky you are to be here with me.”

He grins.

His words ringing true, but still receiving a balled up napkin to the head.

The cat stirs and rubs itself across Natasha’s legs.

“Yeah,” she agrees, reaching down to scratch its back absentmindedly.

“Just think of the day.”

Well, a series of unfortunate events (some of them I do recognize as mistakes or choices that I made) made me still not be graduated in psychology.

In first place, let’s start by the beginning of my college life. I was a straight A student. I was actually chosen yo participate on the official national exam to determine the best level of colleges/universities. Mine was number 4 nationally.

My grandmother, a extremely rich woman, some people say that she was the richest woman in my State, payed for my studies. In the beginning of the semester she would already pay the entire semester. She didn’t care that much about my studies but was proud for being one of the only grandchildren that went to college.

That being said, on my second semester she invited me to spend 2 months on Europe with her. Including a cruise to get there. The cruise only to rich Tenerife took around 15 days. I also had stops on Tunisia (on Tunis in particular), Malaga, Dubrovnik, and finally arriving in Venice. A week in Venice was unbelievable. Such a pretty city, so nostalgic and brand new to me… my first steps on Europe. After Venice (where I naturally spent a lot of money), we went to Barcelona, another incredible city. From Barcelona we went the way down to Lisbon, but stopping in cities on Spain east coast. Between a week or a couple of days in all cities. I only had my laptop to communicate with my friends on Brazil, which meant either no sleep or sleep only a little bit. I’m gonna Jump to Lisbon. Is nice to speak Portuguese again (I am Brazilian) and shop some more, but except for the castle of Saint George nothing much to see.

I obviously missed the entire semester and had to “repeat”. I wasn’t so focused anymore. My addiction to amphetamines was out of control, I was just trying to survive. I had to repeat again. I kept my friends. But made new ones. After Studying Lev Vygotsky I was invited to a group of studies on psychoanalysis. I joined in and one semester later I started my internship. I was good. That made me want to do it more. 4 years laters and with the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, I stopped to finally graduate. Little would I know that I would have a brain trauma.with meningitis. And 2 hemorrhages. Literally 3 years of neurotherapy in every way, I came back transfered to a new University. And now I’m getting my shit together. I don’t control bipolar. The medication s don’t control all the time either. Sometimes I have to get down. Sometimes I have to get too up.

I forgot to tell that I spent other semester on Europe also financed by my grandmother, already knowing about my diagnosis. It was a better trip because I was only with friends, but to be fair I spent over 40k Euros shopping. Which was cool.

Now it kind of feels like I’m lonely. I didn’t keep up with my friends. I have 2 that I literally speak everyday. One in São Paulo and other in Dublin.

So yeah. Only me and my husband. I don’t think it will last more than 18 years. And I think I won’t marry anyone again. Not in a lonely way. Just as in “no compromising And feeling good alone”.

As much as I despise the Israeli government, it is pointless to criminalize recognizing Israel or the "Zionist entity" as is stated in the article. Despite the horrible past and present state of Israel and its treatment of Palestinians, it is an established state at this point. Most of the UN recognizes it. Admittedly, most of MENA does not, but they also do not all go to the level of criminalizing the association and interaction with Israel. The article points out that this includes a ban on interacting with Israelis at all kinds of events, including sporting. Iran does this already, and you can see how much that's done. Nothing progressive towards any kind of state safe for both Jews and Arabs. I think the state refusing to recognize Israel is fine - it's a political statement that I think means something internationally - but criminalizing it for civilians is pointless.

Kurt’s laying on the couch, the laptop open as he watches Men’s Volleyball on TV.  There’s really nothing else to do during the middle of the day, so he’s chatting with Blaine as they watch the Olympics together.  He really isn’t following that well, but it’s either this or women’s water polo, and at least the guys are nice to watch.  

Blaine apparently thinks so too.  He may only be able to see his top half, but he knows those grunts well, and it’s clear what’s going on underneath the camera.  

“Blaine!” Kurt scolds as he grabs some popcorn from the bowl on the coffee table.  “Are you really getting off to this?” 

Blaine gives a funny little shimmy and grins.  “They blew the whistle because team USA hit the ball too many times.  No one lost a point, you’re looking at the wrong stat - the score is in the upper left.  And we’re playing Tunisia.  And what can I say, I’ve turned into a hedonist.”

Take Action Now: LGBTI Rights Defender Violently Attacked (Tunisia)

Badr Baabou, a human rights defender and LGBTI rights activist, was violently assaulted by police officers on the night of October 21, 2021, in downtown Tunis. Security forces have been targeting Badr Baabou for his work and activism in promoting the rights and freedoms of LGBTI people in Tunisia. This attack is the latest in a long series that spans several years. Several complaints have been filed but to no avail. The authorities must conduct an investigation into the attack, bringing those responsible to account.

According to testimony that Badr Baabou provided to Amnesty International, around 9:00pm on October 21, 2021, Badr Baabou left a cafe in downtown Tunis and was looking for a taxi when two men whom he believes were members of the security forces, and who identified themselves as ‘cops’ when asked by the activist, insulted him, accosted him, and beat him severely. As Badr Baabou lay on the ground, his head bleeding, the men stole his laptop and mobile phone, and told him the beating was retaliation against him for filing complaints against the police and “defending whores and [a derogatory term in Tunisian Arabic for homosexuals].”

Badr Baabou is the chairman of ‘DAMJ, the Tunisian association for justice and equality’, one of the Tunisia’s most prominent LGBTI rights groups.

What kind of food do you like the most? I like vegetables and casserole type of food a lot. 

What is your favorite holiday memory? I don’t have any holiday memory that stands out compared to others. 

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? That’s actually a topic I struggle with the most in life because I don’t really know where to go or where to stay. There are just so many requirements I have for the place I want to live in: Stable and philanthropic political system, health care, sunny weather/agreeable climate, job opportunities with an acceptable wage... I can’t think of any place that fulfills my wishes, so I guess I’ll stay where I am for now until I can prioritize 😂

If you could stop time for 1 hour, what would you do? Either spend it on something I love to do, so I could do it one hour longer oooor spend it on something I hate to do but have to do, so I won’t lose any ‘real’ time on that. Depends on my mood then I guess 💁‍♀️

If your life was a movie, what would it be called? The Journey? The Examination? Or maybe Local Girl crying about fictional characters? I’ll decide once the movie is finished.

I’d actually like to see what the future holds, but considering how scary and confusing that could and certainly will be, I’d travel back to the past. But only as a spectator (even though that would mean I would go crazy on the fact that I can’t intervene in anything. But that’s for the better, I’m sure)! 

If you could be anyone in a movie, who would it be? Do you know these children shows where there are the simplest characters with the simplest problems in an animal crossing kind of world? Where there is nothing but a waste, green area with some trees and maybe a little lake with a bridge? Some character from a show like that. I don’t even care what character.
