A verdadeira essência do amor .
O amor real , sincero , leal , fiel , corajoso.
A presença de Deus na plenitude do amor .
Às várias formas do amor verdadeiro.
O amor verdadeiro , o amor correspondido , que tem como consequência a felicidade , a união de duas almas em comunhão... #lapoetesse #poetizame

Dorien is leaving for Vancouver tomorrow morning. All that needed to be said has already been said, but I will miss her like crazy. That is all.

the most wonderful ladies in the world, also my awesome friends :) sarah, me, stéphanie, dorien, and bilitis.
I had such a lovely evening with my absolutely wonderful friends yesterday. will you just look at them? I love this picture because it shows us just the way we are: sarah being pretty darn cute and badass at the same time in her awesome jumpsuit, me being taller than anyone else as per usual, stéphanie being the party animal, dorien being the cutest little thing you've ever set eyes on, and bili just being hot and fierce as fuck. this is my open declaration of love to you, gals.

I was tagged by ladyr0salind!
RULES:
Rule 1: Always post the rules. Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you has written and write 11 new ones. Rule 3: Tag 11 new people and link them to your post. Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them.
My questions for the people I tag:
City or countryside?
Ugh, what a hard question. I can completely lose myself in nature. Especially the National Parks in the US have made such a big impression on me. But then again I'm also a real city girl at heart. I love how vibrant and thriving big cities are and I still miss living in Vancouver everyday. The bustle of people heading to work, buses, traffic, shops... But I guess if I have to choose, I'd choose the countryside.
Where in the world do you most want to live? Have you ever been there?
I would loooooove to move back to Vancouver. I lived there for 5 months in 2011 (wow, I guess that's 2 years ago now) and loved every minute of it. Such an amazing city, absolutely spectacular views of the mountains and the oceans. It blew my mind.
Favorite sound?
I swear I'm not a hopeless romantic, but I love waking up in the middle of the night next to a loved one (boyfriend) and just hearing him breathe peacefully. That's pretty awesome.
Bodywash or bar soap?
Bodywash, for sure. Soap bars are one of my pet peeves, yikes.
Favorite beverage (alcoholic or otherwise)?
We have this thing called jenever in Belgium. It's pretty heavy stuff (I think it's about 35% alcohol) and you can compare it to schnapps because it comes in all kinds of flavors. But the apple jenever is actually the best thing on earth, especially if it's ice cold.
Do you have a nickname?
My friends used to (and some still do) call me Mien (from the last part of my name, Yasmine) and my English speaking friends often call me Yas. But not really anything spectacular, I'm afraid!
Any New Years’ resolutions?
My resolution is to travel the world, meet new people, visit the people I love and haven't seen in ages, and not let anything hold me back. And I guess the usual stuff like being more healthy yadda yadda. :)
What did you want to be when you grew up when you were a kid?
As far as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a writer. I used to write tons of stories and I still have boxes full of notebooks that I used to write in. But my major flaw is that I never really manage to finish any long stories.
What is your comfort food of choice?
I can scoff down a pack of pepper & salt chips like there's no tomorrow.
Airplanes: Love or hate?
Love love love love! I'm absolutely in love with flying, airports, and anything that has to do with traveling. Flying makes me feel like I'm on top of things and like I'm doing something good with my life.
What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
In August and September I'm going to Australia to visit a ton of my good friends from exchange in Vancouver. 90% of my exchange friends are all Aussies and so I haven't seen any of them since I left Vancouver but I'm extremely excited to see and hug all of them again. Especially because I'm flying there with my wonderful American girl and the both of us will once again be reunited with our amazing friend Laura and our holy trinity shall be whole once again :)
The people I tag are: lapoetesse, suchgreathights, moodswingbabyb, ttinycourageous, vastlyunknown, callmefons, gleekipedia, summer93, my-purple-coat-in-the-sky, everybodywantstoruleaklaine.
And here are my questions for you:
What is your best memory from 2012? What song reminds you of your childhood and why? What was the last book that you read that made a big impression on you? Favorite quote from a movie ever? What is the nicest thing a random stranger has ever done for you? How did you come by your tumblr url? If you could be anywhere in the world, with anyone, right now, where would it be? Name one bad habit that you wish you could stop doing. Which celebrity would you like to be BFFs with? What movie are you most looking forward to in 2013? What petty thing annoys you the most when you go outside? Slow walking people? Pigeons in the streets?

so my baby darling love dorien (aka lapoetesse) is leaving for a semester of exchange in vancouver this sunday. I spent 5 of the best months of my life in vancouver last year and I couldn't be more excited that she's going to experience amazing things on that very same campus and in that very same gorgeous and vibrant city.
even though I'll miss sitting in class (or rather: ditching class, having lunch, and simultaneously convincing ourselves that skipping class isn't that bad) with her and having our random and philosophic late-night talks (which we'll still have, just in different time zones), it's not the end of the world. we'll skype, she'll fill me in on how UBC campus has gotten even more beautiful and how she's running into movie sets every day. I'll tell her about the awful belgian weather and how everything is so very boring here.
so just remember. we all love you and we're so very very proud of you, baby. we're here for you when you need us to be, but don't waste any time mourning what you left behind in belgium. because at the end of the term, you'll come back to us but you'll have to say goodbye to a gorgeous city, happy times, and some amazing people who will have become your family.
now go make some beautiful memories and come back an even more wonderful person than you already are.

You know you have great friends when
they walk through the most annoying mix of snow and rain to bring you home-made, clean, healthy peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough. Because you've been locked up for two days to work on a crisis management project that takes away all the joy in your life like a dementor.
Thank you, Dorien!

so I'm moving into my new place tonight and I've been busy all weekend moving my stuff and making it feel like my new home. I'm very excited, but that's also because I'm going to have some very distinctive champagne with my lovely ladies moodswingbabyb, lapoetesse, and suchgreathights. cause, you know, we're classy bitches.
