Lani’s Writer Appreciation Challenge

Alright. So it’s not so much of a challenge, but I’m sure a lot of you have noticed how writers are really getting tired of not getting the recognition they deserve. I’ve seen some thinking about going on a strike and I’ve seen others just completely deactivate their account. 

This shouldn’t be happening. Writers should feel appreciated. They shouldn’t be bombarded with assholes who think they’re entitled to demand new content from writers every second of the day. They don’t deserve that kind of treatment.

So here’s what you’re gonna do. 

To show your appreciation for your favorite writers you will send me (via ask):

The url of the writer(s) you love/appreciate.

A detailed summary as to why you love and appreciate them (ie. how you like their writing style or how they write a character)

Your favorite work(s) of theirs and why they’re your favorite

NOTE: If your ask goes beyond 3 parts, just send it via my submissions. If it’s under 3 parts, leave some type of signature (letter, initial, nickname, etc.) so the parts don’t potentially get mixed up. 

This pandemic has taken a toll on us all and I think we need a little bit more love to spread around as well as give writers the recognition they deserve. I mean, if it wasn’t for the amazing fic writers who provide us with amazing stories, I’m sure all of us would completely lose it.

They’ve provided us content for free and we owe it to them to show that their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

I wanna show love to @offical-and-unstable satan. She really gives alot back to the writing community. Epic beautiful stories that can bring a readers emotions out full force. Sometimes funny crack!fics that just bring a nonsense smile. She puts her heart and soul into her stories and you can feel it, her personal ones and requests. Plus she checks on everyone to make sure they are okay, giving love and support without expecting anything in return. I love her and thankful shes in my life.

Oh my gosh. @official-and-unstable-satan sounds like an absolute sweetheart and a great writer!

I wanna shout out @myoxisbroken because they create such beautiful stories and you can feel their love for the story throughout the words. Plus the writer is really nice as well.

Next shoutout is to @hopelessromanticspoonie She writes Loki and Tom Hiddleston but some much more! She is again a super supportive friend and my best cheerleader and many others as well! She has faced some negativity and handled it with grace and poise. Favorite stories: Between the Shelves and Lose Yourself (but I am biased to that one!)

I'd love to give a shout-out to @chubbyreaderwriter! Not only do they write for several different fandoms, they write one-shots and preferences for plus-sized/chubby readers! Their writing is clear and flows so well. It makes me feel included I have so many favorites and I haven't even read everything yet, but I think their Mycroft Holmes fics are my favorites so far. (I hope it's alright if I don't have one specific fic. I can't choose 🥺)

I added a bunch of people on my comment but I also wanna shout out all writers from all aspects of the community. Whether you write crack, smut, angst, whatever. SPN, CM, MCU, Star Trek, whichever fandom. Every single writer is important. New or experienced. If you've posted one story or 1000. All writers deserve a shout out for their hard work. New writers, extra love because it takes a lot to post your first story. I'm proud of all of you 💜💜💜

Okay so my first shoutout is to @yespolkakitty She started off as a Loki/Tom Hiddleston writer and she has expanded into so many different fandoms. She is kind and supportive and even when faced negativity, she remained positive and supportive. Some of my favorite works are: Evidence and Breathless but every single story is a jewel!!

We love a resilient writer! Shout out to @yespolkadotkitty !!

I haven't seen a writer recognition post yet for @nildespirandum, so please forgive me if this is a repeat. I get excited whenever I see that she's updated a story or started a new one because I know it's going to be amazing! She brings a wicked sense of humor, gorgeous love scenes (and sometimes delectably filthy smut), twisty plots, and such creativity! Recommendations would be literally anything from her Loki and Nora's Infinity Stone Playlist or her Thomas Sharpe story Perfection.

Can I give a shout out to @Sweater-daddiesdumbdork because she writes amazing stories and she always goes all out on her requests. She creates sweet drabbles and one shots and is so kind to everyone and she's always willing to try anything to make someone smile. Even if it's just a few sentences, she tries to give people what they ask for. And she writes pretty much any genre. Shes a sweetheart and she gives back, always reading others stories and leaving encouraging comments and observations

Gotta love a writer who aspires to give back! sounds like @sweater-daddiesdumbdork is an amazing person and writer!

My final shoutout is to all the new writers. Those writers who are just starting out. I love you all for taking that leap into this crazy world of fanfiction. Keep going. Keep creating. The readers will come. Things get better. And I can't wait to read your story!

@darksideofclarke because of the glorious Blinding Lights and literally every other thing on her masterlist too. @twomoonstwosuns has an amazing writing style, and I love Back To You. @huliabitch has a way of capturing your attention and absolutely never letting it go until the last word is spoken. @i-said-goddameron writing keeps me coming back time and time again because it's SO GOOD. And of course, YOU! Your writing is awesome! I know there's some I missed, but if you write, you're awesome!

@suchatinyinfinity is a poetic writer who weighs each word she uses in search of balance between plot, imagery, symbolism and character traits, and she does so beautifully. I started with her Ryan Brenner series A Familiar Face, but quickly devoured her entire masterlist.

Thank you for hosting this challenge, Lani ❤️The Price of Gold by Tara (@moonbeambucky) is one of my favorite Lance Tucker fics of all time. I've read it more times than I can count on both of my hands, and I'm yet to grow tired of it. I love how Tara illustrates her story settings. (1/2)

(2/2) Her descriptions are so immersive that you can't help but get sucked into whatever universe she's creating. She is a brilliant storyteller who has this unique ability to make me tear up whenever I read her work. I adore, love, and respect her so much, and I believe that she deserves to get more recognition for her stories

Literally, I agree. @moonbeambucky is the reason why I fell for Lance Tucker so hard. She gave us the more human side to Lance and wrote it so beautifully.
